I'm planning to take a trip to Chicago possibly this summer. Does anyone from the area know the best pizza places in town? Or any other good places for food. Doesn't have to be fancy. Also, any other things you would recommend for fun?
Can't believe there isn't a general about Nam already, even though everyone and their mother is going there. I myself did Saigon, Da Nang, Hoi An, Hanoi, and the Ha Giang Loop earlier this year. Can highly recommend all of it.
>Mon — Times Square. Top of the Rock. Dinner at Bubba Gump. >Tue — Statue of Liberty ferry. Little Italy lunch. Dinner at Carmine's. >Wed — Empire State Building. Macy's Herald Square. Dinner at Tao. 169 Bar. >Thu — 9/11 Memorial. Charging Bull photo. Lexington Candy Shop (This 97 year old diner still serves their Coke the old-fashioned way). Dinner at Eataly. >Fri — SoHo shopping. Magnolia Bakery. Katz's dinner. Times Square The Basement rave >Sat — Brooklyn Bridge walk at noon. DUMBO photos. 9/11 memorial. Dinner at Lombardi's. Is Moscow really as great of a city as Russians claim it is? Better than any European city? I am talking purely travel, no politics please.
I want to visit this country. Has anyone been here? What are the best things to do? Most delicious food to eat? Do the girls like white guys? Please post everything you know about traveling in the CAR.
I want to be a travel YouTuber, but I have autism. I don't have social skills and don't particularly like talking to people. Can I still make it, /trv/ bros?
I'll be visiting Berlin for 3-4 days, what is there to do besides the obvious tourist traps? What we've already planned: Day 1: Museum Island Day 2: Prenzlauer Berg + Kreuzberg (Bergmannkiez) Day 3: Kurfürstendamm + Charlottenburg Day 4: Potsdam?
Sup /trv/, here's a summary of my trip to Buenos Aires last month in pictures. I mostly hated the place, everything is ridiculously expensive and the value you get for what you pay is total shit. Public transport is America-tier and you will have to use it unless you prefer renting a car or Ubering all over the place. I went there for family reasons and was admittedly lazy when it came to checking out things to do and places to visit so obviously YMMV if you have a more defined itinerary. Anyways, I started my journey at the Jardin Botanico, here's the statue that greets you when you first enter the place, there is no entrance fee.
Yes it does, and I'm gonna have a good time summerbumming from town to town around the mountains on these state-operated buses.
Saw that the gear thread had 404'ed while I was gone. Figured I would bake a new one. Best Bags Current Loadout Plane and Train Clothes Chargers, batterypacks, laptops, tablets, headphones, books, handhelds etc prev >>2877573
Love Vegas, simple as. Post stories, tips, suggestions, etc centered around Las Vegas. Including but not limited to >where to stay >where to eat >where to avoid >gambling info >comps info >promos and specials >best pools >best museums >bars and nightclubs >free shit to do >concerts, sports, etc
>look for a cheap place to stay while visa times reset >insanely cheap from checking out online, lots of places 24/7, train up and down the country, and english spoken >why the fuck does no one talk about this place? I think I saw some people on trv talk about it once >book in KL Holy shit I did not think it possible for something to be less soulless than fucking Seoul. The air sucks, the food portions suck, the weather sucks, the "local transportation" is ass, everyone smells like sewage or curry, you run through things and then it's just "mall mall mall hey did you want to check out that small attraction at the mall?" from anyone you meet. Bars are just awful filled with obvious chinese scammers or old fucks from UK, sometimes passing business people. Try to look online for interesting things, you can blow out KL in like 2.5 weeks of going out, and everyone just says "never run out of things,,," and don't get me started at 5AM singing. Is there any saving grace for this place?
Post your travel maps in this thread. Pic related is the official /trv/ Real Traveler's map™, edition 4.0.5. I am remaking this general after almost a year of it being dead, so this is not the usual OP. Fill in the countries and subdivisions you have visited, talk about your map and ask others about their maps. You can use the map however you like, the colors are more like suggestions, you don't have to use them, and you don't have to use all of them. You can add or remove colors and change the map as much as you want in any way you want. Don't like this map? Upload a completely different one. Up to you. Despite what some might say, there's no "wrong" way to use the map, and new posters and less travelled people are welcome and encouraged to stay and post :) This map is a group effort by our board, and we can only improve it if people reach out to share suggestions or corrections. This is the newest edition of the map, edition 4.0.5, updated for September 2025. Thanks to an Anon in previous threads, it is now easier than ever to fill in the map. You can use the website splored.com to easily color in entire countries with a single click. At the time of making this thread, it uses the old 4.0.4 template, so you still need to update it to 4.0.5 with the simplified template, but hopefully it will be updated.
How did the Czechs trick the world into believing degenerate Prague is a one of a kind European destination?
the only good thing about this country is the hiking and mountain opportunities, which i admit there are a lot of. otherwise, this place blows ass. tbilisi fucking sucks, no character or identity except >muh bassiani and degenerate clubs it's somehow overrun with indians and assorted browns despite it apparently being hugely racist. i saw a bald guy the other day with a huge swastika tattooed on his head walking next to about a dozen indians which was funny. also full of instagram-tier russian thots. georgians themselves are some of the most retarded literal ogres around. it actually feels like being in a slightly less shit india. people cut in front of you in line constantly, block your way, in shops they'll just say "no" to any question you ask (in georgian or english) without even thinking. the police are literal apes who will fuck with you for no reason and give you tickets for stuff like jaywalking when you weren't, and pretend not to speak english when you argue. very few georgians are nice unless they want to scam you. it's also fucking expensive, despite what digital kwabmads will tell you, and you don't get anything for it. nothing is fucking available in this country. i can't even buy a kilo of greek fucking yoghurt without looking in 6 different shops. this is without mentioning smaller cities. i have never seen places with less to do, no one even visible outside regardless of the time of day. the only people who think georgia is cool are side quest larpers who see one soviet mosaic or old apartment building and think it's the best thing ever, but there isn't even much actual stuff left. better to go to uzbekistan. georgia is a totally forgotten and irrelevant country by design, it seems both the government and average man have no interest in making the country better whatsoever, which is fine on paper but all people do here is complain about how shit the country is and protest about how they want to join the EU. lmao, even. food is pretty good tho.
I'm wanting to go camping in rural Germany next year. Travel around on the trains and buses, starting in NRW where I used to live as a kid (Dad was British Army) What's the situation like over there right now in terms of third worlders? I get that the cities are just as bad as the UK, but what is the countryside like? I want to see beautiful scenery and quaint little villages without having to fight my way through hordes of hijabs. Where should I avoid?
Is the classic American road trip dead? It sure seems like interstates take you through a homogenized version of the US.
how the hell do you guys take longer than a 2 week trip? After 2 weeks it cost more than rent in most cities and thats not even accounting for transport and food cost. Airbnb looks cheaper for longer stays but then you need to deal with rules, insane host, and "cleaning fees".
Why doesn't America have cheap hostels? Is this an untapped billion dollar market? Or is there some reason, like regulations or whatever the US doesn't have them?
I’m driving from Chicago to Denver for a wedding in mid-October and taking a full week off work, so I’d like to turn the drive into a road trip rather than just making the 15-hour drive each way. I’m looking for suggestions for interesting stops along the way, both going to Denver and back to Chicago. I’m not looking for anything too elaborate. Basic sightseeing, interesting towns, parks, short hikes, scenic areas, good/unique food, roadside attractions, etc. I’m traveling on a budget, so I’ll probably be using campgrounds or sleeping in my car at hotels/truck stops. I’d appreciate recommendations for campsites, quiet/secluded places to stop for the night, or good rest areas. I’m open to taking a slightly longer/scenic route if there are worthwhile things to see. I’d love to hear about any hidden gems, odd roadside attractions, local restaurants, or places that are easy to miss along the Chicago/Denver route. Please recommend me things.
Went to Tokyo for 8 days 2 years ago and loved it Going to Japan next year, this time for 2 weeks and planning on booking hotels for 2-3 locations throughout the trip, preferably at least one urban location and one more rural out there location
Ever been impressed with how disappointing something is in real life? And I don't mean the obvious tourist traps like Plymouth Rock where it's pretty clear there's nothing to see. I mean ones that can look cool in a decent picture. I'd seen the Supertrees hyped up online for years. People saying only Singapore could do this and the whole world is behind back when these things were first presented. Though they must be pretty impressive. Turns out it just feels like a cheap amusement park attraction within a fairly mid park. It's tacky pink and neon green plastic piping with vines that only go up partway.
How bad of an idea would it be for an American to attempt to move to England? I'm finishing graduate school soon, and I don't want to look for a job in the US. I've visited England 6 times, but what is it like to actually live here? My main motivation is the public transport. I absolutely fucking hate driving. It terrifies me. I don't understand why something so dangerous and so expensive is widely accepted as being a necessity for everyday life. It is ruining my life, because my country has no good public transport. Many other European countries have good public transport, but I only speak English. Would I regret moving here? I love English people, and have several close friends who live there. I would only want to live somewhere that I can actually meet people, so no rural hamlets.
Was planning to go to Italy for the fall, but the $100 -$200 nightly rates for mediocre hotel rooms and the African crime wave against tourists changed my mind. Same situation in Spain, France and the UK . All no go zones in 2026
Heading there 11-21 January with my wife, our 2yr old, and our 4yr old. Any recommendations on things to do or things to avoid, where to stay, and how long to stay there? We'll be renting a SUV and bringing car seats. I speak enough Spanish to get around. We'll probably stay in a hotel in San Salvador for 2 nights and Air BnBs the rest of the time, then a hotel near the airport the night before our flight. My 4yr old likes animals (any kind) and my 2yr old likes dinosaurs and heavy machinery. Should we bother with a stroller at all? Or just backpack child carriers? It'd be nice to have somewhere for them to sleep during mealtimes and such but they can sort of do that in the rigid frame hiking carriers we have.
Any one here ever been to road side attraction that no longer exist like Guntown Mountain in Cave City Kentucky? Other places the come to kind is Ghost Town in the Sky in Maggie Valley NC. These places are cool to look at history or stuff like this still sitting there rotting. Kind of a creepy eerie vibe.
Is South East Asia (specifically Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia) worth visiting during monsoon season (sept/oct)? I have a month off
Is Rouen worth visiting for both sights and the local cuisine? Me and a group of ~5 are planning a visit to France next year (perhaps early 2027 for off season prices) and Paris is obviously a big one and where we'll be flying into from the US and visiting, but I was wondering if Normandy's capital was worth going out for views, history, and food. Also, would Le Havre also be worth adding? Maybe more seafood focused, but I don't know if it has as many historical sights, though being on the coast might make it worth the contrast to larger/denser cities. Our trip is planned to be Paris-focused at this stage, but I was wondering if Rouen's relative closeness would make it a worthwhile excursion.
Making this thread so y'all can talk about your favorite travel experiences and recs. So far, I've been to Mexico, Chile, France, Japan, Korea and China, and I'm thinking of going back to Europe later on in this year. Places I'm interested in: >Portugal >Spain >Italy >Greece >Brazil >Sweden >England Any thoughts? My budget is about 6k, and I speak english, spanish and french. My interests are food, culture, sightseeing, art and women. Thanks.
Good news less tourists in Japan. Bad news it's not the ghetto americans who stopped coming, but the Chinese. https://japantoday.com/category/national/update1-foreign-visitors-to-japan-in-august-fall-9.6-to-3.10-million
When white women go to Japan they either level up to extremely classy, elegant, well dressed etc The kind of girl you take home to meet your mom. Or this type who I ran into in Roppongi.
For me its emirates. They are forced to always smile, always with professional makeup, their red lipstick is so fucking sexy. Many of them are whorng themselves out on socials, they gave me many faps.
I'm at my wit's end. I've been living abroad for years. I barely ever go back to the US. My current bank account is linked to my dad's cell number, but his dementia is getting worse, and along with the time difference, communication with him is getting progressively difficult. Apparently you can't set up a Tello number if you are outside of the States. I have a google number, but that wouldn't be secure to use for 2FA and banks wouldn't use it anyway. I have no idea what to do. Other services that provide a US number will kick you off of you are outside of the country for x amount of days. Have any Americans found a workaround that doesn't require being in the US to set-up the initial number? I use airalo for my esim data which works great in any country I'm in (although iffy at times in Japan for some reason), but it doesn't provide a US number
next week i will be in Peru and i will stay for 2 months. For now all i have is 2 weeks booked in Lima, i dont like to travel with a fixed itinerary as ive found often that the key to a great trip is flexibility. If you have been to Peru before i would love to hear what you have to say. Recommendations, tips, destinations. My favorite activities when travelling are hiking, eating local food and sampling the local culture (not the tourist trap kind, but real experiences if possible) Thank you in advance for your time! Also if you are in lima the first two weeks of october let me know and maybe we can meet.
My bro and I might be able to travel for a week. El Salvador seems like a nice country since it's a short(ish) flight for both of us and it's a compact enough country you can see a lot of it in a week. BTW no we won't be surfers. My brother is a shark attack survivor so he hasn't surfed in over 3 years. I think the gist is Santa Ana + ruta Flores + some nature stuff along the way? Any more detailed recommendations? I imagine San Salvador itself is nothing special like most Central American capitals.
McDonald's is the new compass, they're everywhere, and youll never be lost. Or if ur stuck in someone else's lands, you'll love that shit...

>visit san fran because family wanted to visit >believed the pol memes >arrive and everyone is asian, old, and polite >see no real crime outside of the containment zone downtown >no faggots outside the faggot neighborhood >no joggers >weather was perfect with a bunch of natural parks just a couple hours drive way from each other >heavy military presence I was lied to and now I resent myself for not visiting sooner >locals did say it was rough a few years ago though
Aware me on the Australian outback. Tell it to me straight, is there anything there worth seeing in the western Kangaroo land? Those who were there, what was your experience like?
I need to go to South America and drink ayahuasca in a jungle with a shaman and a rotating cast of expats who all had the same idea. Everything is arranged. I just show up, hand over a few thousand dollars, and spend a week purging and meeting God or whatever. There is a ceremony. There is a bucket. There is a man with a rattle. This is healing. I fly home changed.
I'm behind the camera literally crying. Only Singapore could make this. Only in Singapore can you see such beauty. I came to Singapore via bus and was leaving via airport. It was one last "Singapore is legendary" moment.
Quick Start Guide for First Timers: Visa: Most countries get 90 days visa-free. Check if you need an eVisa or ARC if staying longer. Fill out your arrival card online before arriving for less stress. Best Time: Oct–Dec for perfect weather (dry season). Avoid July–Sept typhoon season unless you like rain and chaos. Getting Around: Taipei MRT is clean, cheap, and efficient as fuck. Youbike only needs an easy card and is essentially free unless you want to ride for hours. High Speed Rail (HSR) for city hopping (Taipei Kaohsiung in ~1.5h). Scooters are god outside Taipei. Get an international permit if you plan to ride. Uber works but taxis are cheap. Avoid during rush hour or rain. Food: Night markets are mandatory. Shilin, Raohe, Ningxia, etc. Must eats: Beef noodle soup, stinky tofu (acquired taste), oyster omelettes, bubble tea (original homeland), pineapple cake, mango shaved ice. All you can eat hotpot also. 7-11 and FamilyMart are better than in most countries, you can live off them if you want. Top Spots: Taipei: 101, Jiufen old street, Beitou hot springs, temples everywhere. Taroko Gorge (east coast) — absolute kino nature. Sun Moon Lake, Kenting (beaches), Alishan for mountains. East coast for chill vibes and fewer tourists. General Tips: Taiwanese people are polite and helpful. Learn basic Mandarin or use Google Translate. Tipping is not expected. There exists programs called Birthright Israel, which give ethnic Jews worldwide a free 10-day trip to Israel to connect with Judaism. I'm not Jewish religiously (Catholic) but my mom's mom is Jewish so I qualify for a free trip. Should I do it just for the free vacation? The cutoff is 27 and I'm 25 right now, so I'd have to do it in the next year-and-a-half and I'm not exactly sure how safe it will be in that period. Btw for my background I've never been outside the US and Canada and only speak English, so I'm definitely not experienced when it comes to international travel.
Hello Anon, Any trip reports on Chad - N'djamena ? Where to have a drink ? Pick up some ladies ? Nothing on the net
I am likely going to Stockholm in December for a trip. How long should I stay, what in Stockholm kick ass, what should I avoid or otherwise be aware of? Also do the women want to fuck Americans?
I love Boston because every time I ask a local about Dunkin they go >It's my favorite thing ever, I love Dunkin so much. I get it every morning, I get sad when I go somewhere and they don't have as many as we do >Wow. So it's good? >Not really
Does anyone here do Tick box travelling? I want to know how it goes but I don't know anyone who does it. I could never travel in that style and wondering how you even make it enjoyable
Hi everyone, there is a thought within me,circling around for years, if not just months at this point, and I think I would need advice and guidance from the people. I come from a lower middle class family, I think this is necessary to tell so that we can have a practical understanding on what can be done. So, the thought which is eating me up daily is that I should cycle from my city to Marseille, "why?", if you may wonder then honestly I don't even know, however let's call it personal goals at this moment. Now its a very ambitious, somewhat silly or even dumb of a thought to have, but I need to stress on the fact that I've had sleepless nights because of this. Marseille is somewhat around 6500+ kilometers away from my city and my mind has been specifically focusing on getting there via cycling only. So I need help to understand what can I do upon this (apart from going to therapy if you may suggest lol) and how practical is it? And should I do it? Though I am unemployed and am lower middle class
You always complain about other tourists, but it's time to confess. What were the times (you) were a bad tourist?
Redpill me on Turkey. I wanna go there to look at Islamic arts / architecture, and maybe if I don't find a scammy place, buy myself a rug. Any food to try? Anything to know beforehand? Experiences to share? My idea is to spend 2/3 days in Istanbul, before going for 4 days to explore Anatolia.
Discuss travel to Costa Rica and other Central American countries here. October is rainy season, so ominous storms with plentiful lightning are a regular occurrence throughout the region.
My wife and I are going to Prague this weekend. Should we bother to exchange money or is the city cashless? Also, any tips for people visiting Czechia for the first time?
For those who immigrated. How do you feel? Do you regret it? What made you move other than work and family? How long did the procedure take? I've spent my entire life in the same area. Looking for something new.
Going to Japan in a month and desperately need feedback on my itinerary. Trying not to cram too much in but worried I ended up with a boring agenda. Any recommendations welcome, especially regarding Showa era design, working class history/culture, public transit, or CLAMP. Day 1: Shinjuku - land in afternoon, hotel, neon lights, ramen dinner Day 2: Harajuku and Shibuya - Takeshita Street, KiddyLand toy store, 3pm lunch reservation at anime cafe, Tower Records, scramble crossing Day 3: Hakone - tourist loop and ryokan Day 4: Kyoto - Railway museum and area around station Day 5: Osaka - Shinsekai and Dotonbori - buy a sukajan, eat takoyaki, play retro arcade games, return to Kyoto at night Day 6: Gion and Higashiyama - walking tour, ?? Day 7: Philosopher's Path - kissaten omurice and melon soda for lunch, sento in the evening Day 8: Fushimi Inari, Uji for lunch, matcha, and Tale of Genji museum Day 9: Shinkansen to Tokyo, walking tour of Asakusa, 6pm reservation at Dawn robot cafe Day 10: Yanasen and Ueno - cats, museums, shrines Day 11: Mt. Takao for early morning hike, hotel rest and recovery afternoon, Akihabara after dark Alternate plan: if not in the mood for hiking - Tokyo Metro Museum Day 12: Sugamo and Otsuka - neighborhood exploring, eat shio daifuku and isoage, buy red underwear, ride toden streetcar, maybe see a movie this day Day 13: Kamakura and Enoshima Day 14: last minute souvenir shopping, flight home 6 pm
How bad are things in Paris? I want to visit in December but the "protests" are offputting. I know public disorder in France is like a sport but... Also inb4 "Paris is full of Africans". I already know this. I have been before. I am specifically asking regarding the current situation.
what's a good place to travel to for a first time solo traveler? late october for 2 weeks. I was thinking japan but im open to suggestions. I need to book tonight for points
I'm seriously considering a Spring Break trip to one of the smaller, less popular, cheaper islands here for a comfy getaway, likely with a girl. From what I can tell, Grenada gets the best value because it's the most well-rounded and isn't popular with Boomers or richfags (it's mostly known in the U.S as a 1980s Cold War battlefield), but I've also heard great things about Dominica and St. Vincent for their nature. If anyone here has been to this area and could give me some advice, that would be much appreciated.
American who WILL be traveling a lot for work. I need recommendations on what kinds of credit cards are food and benificial to me, what kinds of terms and conditions are generally considered kind and those to look out for. Thanks in advance
Going to Brazil soon. Bento Goncalves and then Rio de Janeiro. I read Bento is pretty safe and chill so I'll explore the place (vineyards, etc.). But in Rio, I'm kind of worried about the violence (thieves, etc.). Is it bad? I'll be in Ipanema and Copacabana chilling but I'm also looking to hook up with local girls. Any advice ? I heard they can be super accessible, unlike here in Europe where you need a damn lawyer near by.
Flew home four days ago and I am still not fully back. We rented a car in Athens and drove three hours south into the Peloponnese with no real plan, found a village my husband had circled in a guidebook from 1987, parked outside the walls and walked in. The butcher was open. A woman was arguing on a balcony. We bought bread from a bakery the size of a closet and ate it on a step in the square under a plane tree that had no business still being alive. In the afternoon we drove down to the coast and swam off rocks, no beach, just rocks and water so clear you could see the bottom twenty feet down and the bottom was just more rock, pale and clean. We dried off in the sun and drove back up to the village and sat outside the one kafeneion and drank coffee that arrived without being asked about and watched nothing happen for two hours and I have been to forty-one countries and I cannot tell you what was happening in those two hours except that I was completely inside something and not outside looking at it and that almost never happens to me anywhere.
Salem for October Plymouth for November Anyone visiting for Fall? Drop recommendations: lodging tourism history spots and views
I am currently visiting Appalachia but the internet here is too shitty to post the photos I took today. I will be in the area for the next week. Would anyone like to read a liveblog? If that guy who uh poverty travels can do it, maybe I can too. But only if y'all want it. I don't wanna make waves. I guess I can start with some text. I'm staying near the Cane River which feeds into the Nolichucky River which then feeds into the Tennessee River, reaching Chattanooga in I dunno 150 mi of twists and turns and the mighty Mississippi in many more. The Nolichucky River damn famously came close to getting btfo during Helene. This area got shrekt by Helene. The river is currently flooded by Isaias-remnants, but you can see the river is less than half as high as it was during Helene from the scar on the bank. Looks like they must have rebuilt much of the road to get here, and I had to cross a one lane bridge where the other lane got partially wiped out by Helene (assuming) and they are still rebuilding it 2 years later. Tomorrow I head west towards the Georgia border.
>Huh oh what's that? You need to pass me? too bad I have a luggage bag as I am inacapable of actually packing for holiday! Don't mind me just making loud noise whilst I stroll slowly along and the #1 reason air travel is becoming expensive. Why yes my holiday is only 2 weeks that's really good for me! Had to suck my bosses dick for it. I need all this luggage and will walk at a slow 5km/h pace whilst you are held up. What is wrong with these "people", you only need 4 pair of clothes, macbook, and outlet adapter. What more could you possibly ever need? Some condoms? Maybe a towel if you're out cheap with the lads to Bali in one of those crummy aussie asshole filled hostels

It could be anything—a tourist spot, a place to stay, a restaurant, an amusement park, junk food, a festival, etc. Field doesn't matter! Please let me know if there's anything that blew you away, somewhere you'd love to visit again, or something you'd highly recommend to everyone.
Been a long time since I've been to Japan, does /trv/ still to IRL meets of people? Going to be in Osaka for halloween not sure if others are here for the events. I know in the past there use to be some meetup threads and what not, wondering if people still do it. I'd be down to meet a few anons for some drinks and hear some travel stories. Maybe do some dumb halloween things.
I am once again planning another trip to the Philippines for when El Niño passes. I have a problem. I need some detailed info on a variety of things long term visitors may need, and surely do come with time spent and acquisition of friends. But I am a bit lazy and want shortcuts. I’ve checked out the expat groups on normiebook and I absolutely cannot stomach the thought going to some deranged boomer expat meetup. I consider myself a normie outsider as it is, but how are these people so fucked up? Anyways wat do and discuss your next trip if you have one planned.
Which is the most perfect area in south America? As you get older you realise going to boiling hot places isn't as fun as it's made out to be. Where isn't hot, not rainy, has good food, decent history and culture, has natural sights? Does it exist?
I was coming down off uppers and had to go for a walk to slow my mind, so I stepped out onto the avenue past midnight with my hands deep in the coat I got from a thrift shop. Everyone still out here moved with a reason and a sense of belonging, a delivery bag on a bike or a cab door swinging open, and I drifted between them flat and quiet, probably looking a little odd strolling at this hour. Holiday lights blinked along the fire escapes and the moon hung over a dumpster smoldering behind a diner. Somehow I felt more awake with every block, warm and easy against the cold. A squirrel scrambled up the brick while two cats watched it from a stoop, and I laughed out loud at the two of them. Steam rolled up from a grate and the breeze carried it across the crosswalk where a group of friends in scarves sang their way home, breath clouding under the heavy streetlight, their voices bright against the night. The city glowed in every lit window and every passing headlight, and I walked on slow with my chest open to the cold, wide awake and grateful to be out here breathing it in and feeling nice.
Anyone have experience working as a flight attendant? Thinking about quitting my current job and becoming one. I hear that the pay can be garbage on the first year and you'll be away from friends and family, obviously. However it seems like a good way to travel the world for relatively cheap.
I need to leave my county and spend two years in a lair. Don't care about legally of visa, currently on 25+ visa violations. Don't care about local services, I'll probably bring more infrastructure then the local population has. This is like a two million US a pend on a 24 month villa. Could buy out s local village and employ them as porters, could buy out an abandoned town in Italy, Spain, could just rent apartment in Oman. I have 100+ people to jam in anywhere
>28 years old >wagie living at home making 70k >220k saved up, majority of it in investments, retirement accounts, crypto >live with parents I am pretty dissatisfied with the wagie grind. I was abroad for 6 months last year in a program and it was some of the best years of my life. I really want to recreate this environment but living at home has made me to defferrent to my parents who want me to be a good betabuxer. I was thinking of getting a remote job (background is in engineering drafting essentially for reference), I have some hits but semi unsuccesful. My other option is doing a masters program in Europe just so I am "productive", but also scared of not having an income or just wasting time. However I do want to do it for the social aspect and the female aspect. Anyway, what path can I pursue going
i'm traveling to winipeg for just a weekend besides the human rights museum what is there to do in this city?
Any recommendations for a trip of two weeks in Pakistan early December? Is Passu worth a short visit? I'd like to visit Hingol, not sure if a normal driver is enough or if one would need someone armed.
I plan on traveling from New Jersey to California. Circumstances require I drive, which would take 43 HOURS. Could anyone please give a list of service stops/hotels to stop at, and an estimate of how far I'll be in the trip by then?
After I finish my conscription I plan on going around Europe and possible Asia. Idea being not to really use planes as those are expensive. I'm thinking of using a sleeping bag to save money and try to live frugally. I think I'll get a good handle on surviving outdoors as I'm aiming for Recon and I'll get SERE training there. Anything I should consider before I leave? Any tips? I got 25k in savings and I'll be 21 when I leave for this trip.
WV travel specifically to Wheeling and Huntington. Thinking about traveling to wheeling for some house purchasing. I work remote 120k/yr looking to settle down from 15 years of fun traveling. What's the best way these days to get around WV. I have around 1.5m saved up looking for the laid back lifestyle in my late 30s. Anyone been looking at the housing market 100-125k gets you a fucking mansion, so even if I get replaced by a clanker I can live out the rest of my time okay. Any advice for WV? Looking at other states like OKC but Wheeling is nice as close enough to Pittsburgh and Eire for some weekenders out. I do like mountains. >inb4 no women or things to do Had my good share in my life don't need more, if I can have a dog, smoker for BBQ, and a good yard, I'm happy
EXPERIENCES TRAVELER TIPS This is a thread for useful tips that aren't typical, and aren't commonly found everywhere
Why is driving and parking so fucked in Australia? >Parking is $45.75 >Register a car in WA is like $1200 a year >Cheapest without concession is $699, and a 4 cylinder is $773 >Diesel is $180 for 110L

Anyone been to Tijuana lately? How dangerous are things right now? What areas of the city are safe, and how expensive is it to stay there for a few days to a week? Also, does anyone have any experience or knowledge of medical tourism healthcare there? Specific clinics or doctors who are good?
>I spend all day in the street chasing women. The rented room is only a place to store my luggage and crash when my luck runs out. Me and the other guys who live here take turns hot-seating the diarrhea splattered toilet. I will never go back to the US. Life is so much better here in [non-Western country]. Is travel NEETing really the dream life for western incels?
Anyone here who has been to India? What would you recommend? I've booked a month-long stay at a yoga retreat in Pune. Haven't planned anything else. My wife and my dad are also coming. No kids. My dad is pretty active for his age.

Wtf is this dogshit? I’m in Belgrade. >people just have a resting bitch face all the time >They are rude selfish and just angry all the time as if they hate everything and everyone >traffic is basically a public execution cause they straight up just drive blindly or selfishly >mobs of crazy hooligans >3rd world slavic crumbling city that is dirty as shit >Tourist spots are kinda boring >food is bland cause it’s just roasted or grilled meat with potatoes and salt I only came here for work but I’d never come here for my own volition. Atleast the girls look good and it’s cheap.
How the fuck do you manage flight anxiety? I have a flight in a few days, a two hour flight to Milan. I've flown a bunch of times before, but I haven't in a few years and I was always with others so I wasn't as worried. This will be my first time flying alone for a solo trip and I'm nervous as hell, both for the flight and for the Milan stay. Any tips for both?
Spooky edition >Last Thread: >>2913726 >What is this thread? Why are there two generals? /rcg/ was initially created as a way for the roller coaster enthusiasts on here to discuss all things roller coasters and theme parks. While roller coasters are the main focus of these threads (and the title of the general) there is also discussion on other theme parks, their rides, as well as the parks themselves and trip planning too. That's where /tpg/ comes in. >Can I talk about Six Flags / United parks in this thread? Absolutely! Six Flags / United discussion of all sorts including rides/resorts/dining/trip planning is OK. Share your boating experiences, your latest outings, your most adventurous trip, and your boats if you own any. I’m interested in getting into it, and have recently gotten a basic licence with the intention of renting and practicing on nearby lakes at first, but I would be interested in trying out the sea as well. I’m especially interested in your first boats and general thoughts about first purchases and expenses. Do you think it was worth it? Would you have done anything differently now?
Hey, I don’t use 4chan often, but I know there’s some dedicated people on here in various hobbies. First things first, budget and stuff. >Budget of less than 400 bucks, which is as cheap as I’ve gotten so far for accomodations. >I want to cuddle my girlfriend and leave a good impression on her parents. >Local language is English, duh. Basically, I want to visit my girlfriend in San Luis Obispo, CA from December 16-23rd. I’ve already booked plane tickets and reserved a hotel, but I know California is expensive as hell and I don’t know how to cut even more corners in the price than I already have. My girlfriend is 20, and I’m 18, and she still lives with her parents, who are still cautious as to if I am real and not “AI”. So I can’t stay at the parents house, and I want to be able to cuddle my girlfriend without anyone looking, so I can’t stay at a hostel (not that I would anyways, since I’m transfem and there would almost certainly be at least one person who’d hate to see me in a female dormitory). So I need to find out how I can penny pinch as much as humanly possible. Thank you all. (I am also posting this on /lgbt/ due to the circumstances surrounding this.)
My mother only parent doesn’t want to teach me even if she is able and has a car and won’t let me practice with the car am I just fucked I have no money for driving courses She is laying in her bed when I ask it’s a day off when I ask but somehow theirs always a excuse she asked the neighbors and her co workers she refuses to take me last time she said she couldn’t take me because it’s about to rain she went to Home Depot a after she said that btw do I sell hole on x to afford lessons
ive been in romania for about a month now. been alright, in sibiu right now, decent town. i much prefer it to bucharest, i thought bucharest was designed shite and wasnt really a city i enjoyed to be in. Brasov was cool. I was talking to a guy dressed in traditional clothing and he told me this is a german town which i guess is cool. a lot of organ meat dishes in romania which im trying to get used to with my irish palette. getting kind of bored now in this country, what have you guys been up to, wheres your next destination or are you already in it? i have a few more pictures from romania if anyones interested in seeing them. yeah. dont know where to go to next. the english proficiency here isnt bad. Im having a much better time with people than rural france.
/Asia Gems General/ Why does nobody speak of Indonesia? It's the land of the unknown and wonder, possibly underrated, or it's a closed minded, no fun allowed, Muslim, chaotic mess I've figured
Hi again folks! Next month (november) i´ll be spending a few days in Budapest! Would love to receive any tips and recomendations about the city. Im a young man in my 20s, would love to socialize, walk, visit bookshops, drink coffe, and party. Thanks!
>finally got a remote job with amazing pay >get to pick whatever hours I want >logging in from overseas is explicitly not allowed >no ambiguity, no exceptions, and the work laptop is packed with spyware to locate you
What's up with the absolute dogshit gym etiquette in Europe and Asia compared to the USA? I thought it was a one off thing in Thailand and just a misunderstanding in Netherlands. People never seem to wipe down equipment post workout (at least in Europe), here in SEA no one wipes down shit and people constantly sit on their phones after like 5 reps maybe pulling off 3 sets over the course of 15 minutes. So far everywhere outside Singapore people just act like it's their home gym in their garage. Is there any good brand of gym you all use while living abroad? I heard Anytime Fitness is good but concerned about weights being planet fatass levels of DYEL. Also what's the best way to get supplements abroad? PH was a blessing in disguise where I was able to stock back up on things but worried about my next few countries(Japan, Korea, TW). I guess general fitness and health advice abroad, planning to stay in Asia for the foreseeable future.
Which places still have fun Halloween parties? Looking for a destination to travel to for the Halloween weekend. Tokyo was amazing but it got nerfed to all fuck with the restrictions in the main neighborhoods, it's honestly depressing considering how good it was pre-covid. It's not even worth going there any more. Are there any places that still do big parties?
I wasted my twenties working dead end jobs (low tier service industry) and have nothing to show for it. Now I'm early thirties and on a career track (trades). When I was younger I wanted to travel the world out of backpack but shit happened and it didn't work out. I poorly managed my finances. Now I'm in a situation where I have some flexibility with work, I could theoretically take 3+ months off per year unpaid to go travel, then try to make up for it by working more the rest of the year. It's possible , doing so would set me behind financially more than I already am, and impact my advancement at work somewhat. Anyone have any advice? Should a "late bloomer" just play it safe and do the standard American vacation route? I don't want to be 40 and barely better off than I am now
I grew up in 1990s having some Indian friends and I ended up liking their food and even their Bollywood stuff. I want to take my wife (and 5yo child) to India this fall/winter, but wife is poisoned by anti-Indian stuff that took over the internet. I have 1 shot to change her mind. Can be all-inclusive vacation in some resort as long as nobody shits on the beach and we're not puking our guts out. How something like Goa or Kerala compares to something like Mombasa or Zanzibar?
What are the best and worst Australian cities? >sydney >brisbane >melbourne >canberra >darwin >perth >adelaide >hobart
Thoughts on Mexico City? I need to use a week of vacation and figured it might be a cool city to go to. I like regular touristfag stuff, drinking too much, getting laid, I’m a total normie.
I got a job offer in NYC recently. I really want to make the move. Can anyone tell me how the dating scene is there? I hear mixed things, some people say it’s good while others say it is hypergamy central. I want to live in Brooklyn so idk if that helps. Either way I am going to make the move
ITT: Places you want to visit that don't exist anymore. I would've LOVED to visit late-60s/early-70s Beirut.
How does one converse with local populations who lack English skills when one is ignorant of the native language? How difficult & awkward are phone translator apps?
Traveling most of Europe feels like this by now. I'm not even a /pol/yp, but there's really no point in visiting places like Paris, London or Barcelona anymore.
Why haven't you become a ramp rat yet, Anon? You could've been flying for free or at heavily discounted prices if you worked what looks like on paper a wagie job but is actually a cheat code to enjoying life. Especially when you have a good shift trade culture at the station. Been on about 7 international trips this year alone!
