Can anyone recommend some hip-hop or rap that has such a massive drum sound like Cruise Mode 101 by Techno Animal? It's produced by Justin Broadrick - I'm already quite familiar with his work with Godflesh, JK Flesh and such, but I'm looking specifically for that aggressive, industrial (but not distorted), beat-driven sound in a more urban direction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fcYrIAX4CE

Why are White rappers seen as something detrimental to the hip-hop genre? If you're a hip-hop fan wouldn't it be awkward if your playlist was all Black men? It should be about the music itself. A White guy idolizing only Black performers would look silly imo.

I started listening to this album years ago because I read that it was an important album in the beginnings of Jungle and Drum&Bass. At first I didn't see anything interesting in it because of it's ambient sound and because it doesn't have many catchy tracks easy to remember. But after some time listening to it became one of my favorite Jungle/Drum&Bass albums and I listen to it constantly. Apparently it’s considered one of the best Jungle albums ever. Also Goldie, one of the pioneers of Drum&Bass worked on the album too. https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwluPG_QBufXnEhVwK0AwqrjuFBxAJzL1&si=21vLCQJYNMBNGhTN Share other albums like this that are key for the Jungle and Drum&Bass world. (Another one is Goldie -Timeless (1995) that I also like and listen to regularly.

So I started listening to a musician called DJ_Dave, I really never see any threads about electronic music here so I just wanted to share that her debut album "Hardcore Software" is really good, I really liked it, and what's cool and Interesting about it is the way she made the album, I wasn't even aware that there was something called Algorave where they live code the tracks, I understand that it's honestly kinda of snobbish to do this when you can literally just use any DAW, but I saw her IG where she showcases how she made her album and I found it really cool. Give it a listen, my top songs are forget, one4u, memory leak, hard refresh and await, If you're into glitch, hyperporp and that type of electronic music, I think you might like it.

Hi, I don't really know how this works, but I get a strange vibe from everything I've heard, and that's precisely what draws me in. I checked the catalog and didn't see anything by The Strokes or Julian Casablancas, so I'll do it myself. I've been listening to him for a year now. After hearing "The Adults Are Talking," I just looked up the band on YouTube and got completely immersed in everything. I listened to his entire discography for the first time, and as the months went by, his voice became a part of me. Of the eight hours of music I listen to every day, six are his, or sometimes more. His voice is like a drug I never get tired of, a delicious burning sensation that distracts me from reality. I love going over each song again and again, thinking about its deeper meanings and everything related to Casablancas. I have a playlist of 175 songs obsessively organized by album, solo work, collaborations, his two bands, Unreleased, covers, etc.

Tonight's listen: Screamin' Jay Hawkins - Are You One of Jay's Kids? The Complete Bizarre Sessions 1990-1994 This nigga was fucking terrifying. Hawkins recorded three albums for the recently-revived Bizarre Records in the early 90's, all of which are collected on this two-disc set along with unreleased material. While Zappa was no longer involved with the label, he'd no doubt have approved of this signing. The shock-shouter seemed to give even less of a damn than usual on these sessions, resulting in some of his most demented work. The good: A bunch of amusing innuendo-laden originals and three of the finest Tom Waits interpretations ever. The bad: Some comparatively tepid straight blues numbers and an awful-as-it-sounds new jack swing version of his signature song "I Put a Spell On You". The ugly: All of it. Not the best place to start with Screamin' Jay, but fans of his classic stuff ought to enjoy at least some of this. Bonus fact: This compilation's title refers to Hawkins' claim that he fathered as many as 75 children, of whom at least 36 are confirmed his. 6.5/10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIWj00PeCVA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=846FUdSjvRM

"[Bob Dylan] and I are different. He uses a fake name. He has stolen his voice from old hillbillies. He can barely play guitar. Everything about him is a mask, a deception."

    >1 good song >bland boring club pop >most overrated person in the world of all time >somehow has a place in indie/music snob canon because black woman i guess Adele is better in every way and you won't see her credited as a top 50 artist of all time by rymtrannies or pitchfork or whatever. I genuinely can't understand why people pretend to like Beyonce and consider it some kind of cultured statement of good taste.

I am working with USBs so I can archive great music (80s) for the coming strategic nuclear war. My idea is that the middle latitudes will have some serious 80s nostalgia. This I will exploit for survival. Apparently according to all music rating systems these guys created 4 of the top 5 albums... of all time. I do not get it friends, it's just not that good. Creep is a good song though

Most underrated artist of all time. Manages to not get major pop accolades or be particularly favoured by tastemakers, music snobs, or rymtrannies/pitchfag. Despite this her oeuvre taken as a whole beats nearly any musician ever.

Who are your favorite comedy musicians? I like Epic Rap battles of History. Can't believe they got snoop dogg on an actual song. Snoop says he charges 250k for a 16 bar feature and another 250K for a music video cameo , so it must have cost them a lot
