I am starting with hiragana alphabet. I feel motivated to begin because I'm just realizing how good I'm feeling being in Japan compared to other places I spent more time than I should have. I like Japan and wish I came here sooner.
    >>2918272
    Did you get success? Tell me what you got and how you got it ;_;
    >>2918262
    >just try and talk to people
Well fucking ok I guess I have to actually try. I came across another grocery store cutie who seemed to like what she saw. I'm growing a pair.

I also am debating on whether or not I should try this HOT bodied slim woman who's a regular at a place I go to who keeps seeming to follow me a bit and doing some things to get my attention but I ignore her like a TIMID FAG who's not wanting to potentially taint that place I really don't want to potentially mess up. I should probably go for it though. At least feel it out and try not to piss her off and risk tainting that place. I can't easily replace it.
    >>

Do local japanese ever talk on trains to each other??

I was on a train from tokyo to odawara and some older asian ladies talked loudly the whole time , im too dumb to know if it was japanese or a different asian language.
It annoyed the fuck out of me and im just wondering how often this will happen
If i knew for a fact they wernt Japaanese I would of told them to shut the fuck up or i will spank them

Anyone have any advice for buying an out-of-print hentai manga like this? It has an ISBN, I guess.

Wouldn't there be extensive second hand bookstores with all this stuff? I'm not a degenerate so wouldn't know but there's usually areas with a lot of the same types of stores.

I'm thinking of traveling to kitchentown to buy one of these good latex chopping boards all the sushi chefs use, wondering if I should just try Amazon jp instead

Any advice for comfortably staying in Japan for 2-3 months this winter?

I enjoy being alone, but it would be nice to somehow meet some cool locals or other travelers.
Planning on renting weekly/monthly apartments and I am looking for recommendations for smaller towns/cities and websites for finding these besides airbnb. I will not spend to much time in Tokyo.
I plan to snowboard for at least a few weeks and am trying to map out a less busy resort/mountain to stay near
    >>
    >>2918428
tokyo is the easiest place to find short term rentals. the process to rent a place is really complicated. post wwii there was a massive housing shortage so they wrote the law basically making it impossible to evict someone. so the landlords really vet you hard and go through a lot of paperwork, even for a short term stay. they want you to do a viewing first, even over zoom, and then after you decide you want it it takes like 10 days or so before you can move in. so start looking a couple of weeks before you arrive
    >>
tokyo is so ass. After visiting osaka kyoto nara hiroshima, it just feels like shit. There's nothing to see and I'm just day two here as a tourist. It feels like a soulless concrete jungle with mid overcrowded restaurants and shops.
Like literally what is there to do here besides going to an observation tower once (the weather is shit now so even that sucks)

    >>
    >>2918432
This is how I feel and I live here. All the stuff I enjoy doing is the most basic shit (being a regular at a bar, cooking my own food, going to small restaurants). Tokyo is just a giant shopping mall for shit you can find online. It’s pretty bad when “shibuya crossing” is mentioned as a major attraction when it’s literally just pavement. Every weekend I try to take a trip out of Tokyo but I’m not sure where to go next

I met her one final time and we did it all night. She is insatiable, constantly begging for me. She falls asleep touching me. When I wake up I groan and she instantly wraps her limbs around me and starts going again.

While I enjoyed cuddling with her and kissing and sleeping together, the sex was just hollow. She was all into it but I couldn't cum. Maybe it was because I knew she was married and we couldn't really spend honest time together. More than actual penetration I really just love gently touching, limb locking, holding each other closely, and communicating without talking. Caressing her hand in the morning until she finger locks me tightly and pushes her body close to mine is the greatest feeling in the world.

But she is too risky to remain around so I told her this was the saigo no yoru. She cried and begged, it was really sad honestly. She just had way too much dangerous baggage. She was a cutter with scars all up and down her body, she gets abused at home, she openly declares in public that she is married, and she drinks 10+ drinks per night despite not even being able to handle 2. I wish I could've helped her somehow.

As a former KHV, I wonder if this was really overall a good thing. I don't think there's another girl in the world who would give me that treatment unless I paid $10,000+. I am jealous of the next man she goes after, because he will no doubt have a great time.

I am hopefully travelling to Tokyo, for the first time next year. Be honest with me, is there any truth to the jeetification of Japan? i heard stories of how the convenience stores like Lawsons all have jeet workers in there and that all you see is increasing numbers of jeets in certain areas. Is Japan getting jeetified or is it just scaremongering?

    >>
    >>2918475
I was last there in early 2024 but as an example in terms of conbinis exclusively I saw mostly Indians in Tokyo and 1 or 2 middle aged men, fewer Indians in Osaka, and none in Fukuoka, Hokkaido or Tottori. In Fukuoka the girl working there was cute and ほいー'd at me. Strangely enough there were Indians working at the onsen ryokan we stayed at in Nagano, but I've read this is apparently due to them being unable to find Japanese staff or the kids wanting to go off into the cities. Still sucks.

I had someone ask me out, it was a cool date that lasted 12 hours and ended at some rich club. I perhaps had a chance to kiss her, but I can never tell when someone is just being polite. Though, I am just not too attached to the world to have concepts like pride or shame. More that I am used to hyper-masculine dead-inside women who cannot maintain an illusion even in domestic life. I am a broken man seeking healing, though this does not come from cheap thrills. I cannot remember who I once was, the dominant man has disappeared. Though a full body massage sounds pretty kick ass.

Overall, I don’t think I’ll get what I want until I find some sort of crazy person willing to reinforce my masculinity.

    For modern touristic stuff:
    Kabukicho aids rally
yoyogi park street performers and olympic museum
Odaiba parks (Teamlab planets, Disneyland, Tokyo big sight comiket, etc)
    Hundreds of museums and shrines
    Island ferries
    For old cultural stuff:
    Tsukiji fish market
    the sumo fatsos at Ryogoku
    Kabukiza theater and museum
    Asakusa
    Shinjuku gyoenmae (historical garden)
    Yasukuni world war ll memorial
And if you really liked Kyoto that much you are going to love The imperial palace, they literally took it away from Kyoto and relocated it into Tokyo :)

Also, if you had to add Kyoto and Nara to your Osaka trip (like everyone else does) you can also add Yamanashi (Mt Fuji) and Chiba or Yokohama to your Tokyo trip

I dont know about japan, but I used to work with thermo logistics in europe and it was common knowledge that a lot of kebab meat distributors often cut corners and transported the meat at wrong temperatures for prolonged periods of time. Often times they would be tiny mom-and-pop shops that drove with unrefrigerated trucks across the border to cheaper countries, loaded up on kebab meat and drove several hours back home.

After working in that industry I started avoiding a lot of different types of food sold in specific types of stores and restaurants. Lots of unserious players who don't understand that you're not supposed to cut corners with food safety

Have any of you ever been denied entry. Last time, I filled out I was going to be staying for 90 days, and the guy at immigration threw his arms up in bewilderment and adjusted his glasses like a cartoon character. He let me through without saying anything to me, but then the the guy at customs asked me some questions in broken English. I left for a month and half to Korea, and stayed for two months earlier in the year. I didn't know if they had a rule on how often you could stay per year or not. I've never seen any rule in writing, but figured maybe for tax purposes you can't stay for more than 6 months in a year, and that stay would put me close to 5. But I also thought, maybe that guy was spazzing out like an incel, because he can't get two days off from work. I was thinking about going back in January, but didn't want to be turned away, or even hassled because someone can't believe I'm not working illegally and have a pension at a young age for which most countries won't give me a retirement visa, because I'm not 60.

Why do retards like you constantly parrot this shit? Yes, if they take something to trial, it’s 99% because they only indict and take things to trial they are guaranteed to win. The majority of arrests don’t lead to indictment, and considering that the jap cops aren’t exactly CSI, unless there is concrete, indisputable evidence, you may have to sit in jail awhile but you’ll most likely be let go.

I think I’m going to have to wait in Tokyo until this passes and just miss the henro hike I planned for next Wednesday. If so, I’ll take it as the universe saying I’m not spiritually ready and work my ass off to come back in a year and try a larger part of the whole thing instead of the small hike, or maybe this will work out. Loser who randomly got into kpop in my late 20s here. Ive never left my country but always thought Japan would be nice to visit and theres a concert in March I'd want to go to so I finally have a real reason I can base a trip around. Problem is, apparently concerts in Japan can be a real hassle to get tickets for and attend because of all the hoops non-resisdents have to go thru so there's a chance the concert falls thru and I'd need a trip modular enough to work around that.

Instead of making a day by day itinerary I wanted to just make a list of stuff I want to do but I'm kinda struggling since being that it'd be my first time travelling ever I don't actually know how much I'd enjoy certain things - i.e maybe temples would be interesting at first but I'd get tired of them after a certain amount. Do you guys recommend following someone's guide for a 1st visit or should I push thru and keep struggling to make my own?

Every famous area is a shell of its former self and the locals want nothing to do with you anymore.

Getting concert tickets in Japan is a huge pain in the ass because every ticket site requires a Japanese phone number. You're almost certainly going to need a proxy service. Most of the time tickets are paper and you either need to have them mailed to you or picked up a convenience store. If it's a Korean group you're going to see, they might be doing electronic tickets. Even then, a lot of the e-ticket platforms are region locked to Japan, and even when you are over there, the website thinks you are outside of Japan if you're roaming on a mobile carrier. Who is it that you want to see?

One day this past summer, when it was 40 something Celsius out, my lilly white ass was sun burnt around two PM walking about for 4 hours, and one of them offered me their hat, when I said I can't, the other took off their shirt and tried to wrap it around my head. Some are indeed crazy, but ~most are good and choosing to be homeless.

    @slumbo
Have you been to Japan? There's some people here I think you could visit.
    >>
    >>2919718
Are you telling me the homeless frens I made in Japan that left their families because of shame didn't choose it.

I don't want to see some streetshitter when I'm on holiday, or even when I'm not on holiday for that matter.

I guess, if you only consider that.
Modern Touristic Japan never had a military surveillance state following you everywhere and restricting where you can go or what and who you can film and the Japanese dont say fuck you in your face like the Chinese do.
Even if they have similar traditions there are huge differences like customs, behaviors, food and landscapes.

It's like comparing France and Italy just because you focus on their Roman heritage. It's better to enjoy both separately.

    >>

NEW japanese man, you mean. They work in konbinis and are taking over. The main predator they need to be more careful of is trains.
    >>
    >>2919533
They'll disappear if you fuckers stop going to jeetbinis. No business means closing down. Glad I don't live bear these stinkies. If I ever walk into a place and the staff is brown I walk right the fuck out and write bad reviews, and report to the police for sexual harassment.

No. Never. Stay away. The last indian I had to be around wore clothes that smelled like they never dried fully after washing. The stench filled the room each time he entered.

Is December a good month to visit Japan?

October-May are the good months to visit Japan, unless you love humidity and typhoons.

Its still fun as a fuck but the tourists get me down, the west aint sending our best, and its really tiring being around all the jeets and third worlders shitting up the place
I'm going to go to this halloween cosplay event and then get drunk and go to a girly bar, they're surprisingly wholesome unlike maid cafes which have sad depressing men in them which fucks with your head, the guys in those places aren't the sort you want to be around without feeling like a tard
wasn't even expensive 2500 yen all you can drink per hour, not even a bad deal and the staff are all cute as fuck
I want to go to the muscle girls bar sometime next week so I can shitpost about it on /fit/ and call people dyel's while posting pics of jacked jap girls

probably too autistic to realize that Japan is far more prevalent than places like Bangkok or Amsterdam
just because its not out in the open apart from a few places doesn't mean its not there, literally everywhere too, Japanese women are massive sluts, the good kind too
    >>
    >>2920020
it is out in the open. if you start at a random place in tokyo and walk a couple of blocks in any direction you will see a red light district
    >>
    >>2920018
    tomboy gf moment
    >>
    >>2920031
It is not. I've walked around a bunch of Osaka and only came across one red light zone besides tobita that was open and some places that according to internet research were places of interest but they were closed buildings you wouldn't just walk into unless you knew where you were going and why you're there.
This was during the day though. I haven't been out almost at all during the night. Everyone says Osaka has the streets instead of establishments like Tokyo but I guess it's during the later hours and/or in central obvious areas.

The last time Comiket lasted 3 days was the year 2019 so it was a big surprise when it was announced that Comiket 109 will be held from December 29 to December 31, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight
    >>
    >>2919985
In my opinion, January is the worst month to visit Japan because everything shuts down for New Years but only for the first week of January, since the locals usually go back home to visit their parents during the first week

Yes, anywhere over 5 thousand people per square km is dense.
    >>
    >>2920049
And that's being generous. I prefer half that density.
