Why does nobody speak of Indonesia? It's the land of the unknown and wonder, possibly underrated, or it's a closed minded, no fun allowed, Muslim, chaotic mess I've figured
    >>
    >>2918898
not really interested in it after having been to malaysia. the christian people i met from there seem nice but they are an extremely low percentage of the population. not interested in dune coon mudshit.
    >>
    >>2918927
Disappointing, I was hoping it would be the former because the country is huge, exotic and has a good food culture. It has a lot of potential to be an interesting country
    >>
I really want to go to Indonesia but am not in a state of mind of where I want to be yet.
I almost went pretty recently, as I even bought a visa, but ended up last minute going somewhere else instead. Of course I didn't really enjoy that either at the time.
    >>
    >>2918933
What state of mind does one have to be to go to Indonesia? Where did you go?
    >>
    >>2918936
    >What state of mind does one have to be to go to Indonesia?
    Want hijab hotties :3
    >Where did you go?
Vietnam. I like the people but was in a mindset of wanting to work on things and the infrastructure I encountered was just frustrating. Since I wasn't in a relaxed fun mindset during that time, and some things didn't work out for me, it was just another stressful time for me.

Your mind sounds catastrophic. How unpleasant must living that way be
    >>
    >>2918940
You're not wrong. I've realized it might be like my own prison. I probably hold myself back more than anything else at this point.
It's not pleasant, but I manage.

Bali is one of the world's top tourism destination. Java is more crowded than any Indian state. Sumatra and Kalimintan are ecological disaster zones with steadily decreasing natural beauty remaining.

I never made it to Indonesia, Cambodia or Vietnam during three seasons of tropical Asia travel.
    >>
    >>2918941
I used to hold myself back overthinking, not in the same way you do it though. You've got to give yourself a slap and snap out of it, realise how dumb it is and that you're robbing yourself of joy in a major way. Realise how lucky you are to have these experiences and just go and make the most of them with an open mind and no stupid things attached that you've created, you think it's hard but it's not, it's literally as easy as just doing it. Be easy going and be present
    >>
    >>2918898
I've wondered that too for ages. FOURTH largest population in the world yet there's effectively no Indonesian pop culture or just culture period outside of the occasional music nerd knowing what gamelan is
    >>

    >Bali is one of the world's top tourism destination

    No it isn't
    >>
Their women, especially Muslim, are the biggest whores on the planet, except they keep it private
    >become overseas Indo in Hong Kong or wherever
    >become cleaning lady
    >fuck every homeowner they work for
    >eventually their husband wants more money sent back so they accuse homeowner of assault
    what a life
    >>
    >>2918942
I've been to Bali. While really nice, the tourism is a disaster. They were one of the first so they weren't to know. Crazy that countries are still making that mistake today though. Governments like Japan are below unintelligent. Odd that you chose to single out tiny Islands of Indonesia though
    >>
    >>2918967
Right, the more you think about it the weirder it is. It's like they don't exist
    >>
    >>2918989
How are their bodies? Usual childlike figure, or do they have tiny bit of shape like some Cambodians?
    >>
    >>2918967
Tung Tung Tung Sahur is unironically the biggest cultural product Indonesia has had in the last decade, and 80% of people don't know it's Indonesian.

The Raid movies were good thoughbeit.

I spent several months hitchhiking around Indonesia last year. I only spent a couple of days in Bali to catch a flight to the far reaches. It's perhaps the most slept on country on earth imo. But perhaps it's because, like me, people largely gatekeep it. I was on a Christian island that saw only about 3 or 4 foreigners per year. The teenage daughter of the richest family on the island (owns a guesthouse and a few things) was hyper interested in me despite me being 25 years older than her. I'm not gonna say anymore because I'm a gatekeeper. If you go and find some nice places please keep your mouth shut.

Don't worry brother I'm with you. I hate the new "nobody goes to this country" stuff on YouTube, it's a nice way to make sure everything you like about it won't be that way when you visit in a few years.
I'll only have two weeks so can't travel around to Islands. Is it possible to have a similar experience to you on the mainland? And in a Christian part? (probably goes without saying)
    >>
Food is diverse but honestly not really tasty. Too much oils and spice and weird cooking methods for me. People are friendly and cultural similar enough. Its not a cultural shock like China as a westerner. Theres plenty of beauty but also a lot of poverty so they have extreme ways of making money. Pollution wise its terrible though. Lots of plastics burned or just trash thrown wherever. Plenty of mountains and waterfalls and everything is a bit wild and not explored by foreigners. Climate is rough though very hot and humid.
    >>2918989
    Absolute truth
    >>
    >>2919057
Well their own country is an economic time bomb thats exploding under current government due to many of same problems Philippines has but a more acute problem is the government corruption in their export economy.

Is a license needed to rent a Moped?
    >>
Bali tourism was out of control. I don’t feel like I experienced the country but instead experienced Disney Land for spiritual boomers from the USA.
    >>
    >>2919056
Oh yeah, I forgot about Tung Tung Tung Sahur, and ironically I used to work with kids so it came up a lot. It could always be worse, Quebec's largest cultural legacy is Cailou
    >>
Anyone ever get to the Malukus, it's the Christian but of Indo from when the Dutchies were there?

And how is the petrol situation, I understand some islands are having massive shortages right now

    >wanting to work on things and the infrastructure I encountered was just frustrating
    work on what?
    you didn't like the streets?
    >>
    >>2918898
I don't like the hippy types that are associated with it. I imagine every nature park just flooded with dread heads balancing on tight ropes and playing hand drums

    no thanks
    >>
    >>2919196
I wanted to but most travel information was horribly out dated so the island seemed like full mystery mode aside from some beaches. Decided I didnt want to spend the week bumbling about aimlessly with my limited bahasa. Best to just meet a university girl to tour you there
    >>
    >>2918984
Bali saw 7 million visitors last year. Their population is 4.4 million. Yes it is an extremely visited and popular place. But nobody talks about Indonesia, only Bali as if Bali were a separate country.
    >>
    >>2919320
Haha right, it's quite funny isn't it. Well I'm glad anyway, it's like their minds are quarantined on that island
    >>
    >>2919324
How about I quarantine my dick in your ass you cunt.
    >>
    >>2919335
That really wouldn't be good. Not sure why you'd even think it up
    >>
    >>2919320
Bali spills over into other islands like lombok etc. Java is quite easy to travel with trains. One month you can do Bali and all of Java and have a full complete trip that hits all the reasons why people travel. Interesting food (though not my preference), culture (art, traditions, etc like drinking upside down coffees or buying batik cloth which my bitch of ex took), nature (waterfalls, volcanic mountains, city views, hiking), nightlife (Bali, jakarta), etc with friendly people.

I will have to head over and report back - always been very interested in the diving and snorkelling in that part of the archipelago, on top of the history.
    >>
    >>2919393
Yeah i forgot about diving. There's lots of that as well. Java might have a lot of fucked up sites from fishing and underwater mining but the other islands are quite good. My biggest gripe is the Muslim country can be quite difficult to find alcohol. Big supermarkets in malls usually sell, otherwise have to visit an alcohol store which can be far
    >>
    >>2919399
I've spent a decent chunk of time in the Mid East so I don't mind taking a few months off beer. I believe while the northern islands, Ternate & tidore etc are Muslim (colonized originally by the Spanish and Portuguese) the southern islands of Ambon, Seram etc are Christian (Dutch/English) so you may have more luck there with booze depending on how much the state polices it.

If you're going too remote you'll need to learn some bahasa. Thankfully it's an easy language to learn since it uses the Latin script and is generally phonetic since its a pidgin-creole language that follows Dutch rules adapted to unify Indonesia linguistically. Even then only maybe half speak it since other dialects are strong in their local regions
    >>
    >>2919658
I'm quite lucky to be Australian, I did 7 years of Bahasa at school, so I'm not fluent but I've gotten by in Java with it
    >>
    >>2919670
Bahasa is one of the easiest languages to learn. Even easier than Spanish I would say since its got really easy rules. Spanish is just easier for some since their backgrounds or having learned other romance languages

    ausfag here...

Only been to Jakarta and Bali but multiple times, and I will definitely go back. The country has active volcanoes and Komodo dragons which i want to go see. also keen to explore some of the lawless parts of the country like Ache and west papua. even the borneo Kalimantan part...

bali gets a bad wrap but it's a blast whenever i go there. Jakarta is fun at nights, if you know where to go, and your dollar goes a long way there. but it's pretty boring during the day. they dont have walkable neighbourhoods where you can just go and explore. it's urban sprawl hell.
    >>
My knowledge of Indonesia is limited to Jakarta, and the college age women there being addicted to anal sex because they didnt want to get pregnant and wanted to remain virgin for marriage.
So they knew all about how to clean and get ready for a real buttpounding, and lots of them achieve orgasm from it.
Getting pussy sex isnt impossible but is a huge chore compared to casual anal. It seems that Indonesia women are built for it, since many I encountered had "donut" buttholes you typically only see on black women. You know, the meaty and hefty anal ring that indicates they can really take it.
Apparently abortions are extremely hard to get on the downlow there, and becoming a single mom is basically total life destruction and expulsion from your family and relegation to life as a prostitute or massage girl. So, up the butt no baby.
