Rather than wait for the next Customs General to post I figured I'd create a whole separate thread dedicated to 3D printing for /toy/ related endeavours. Accessories, dioramas, props, heads or entire figures, resin of FDM (or even SLS if you use it), anything goes! After much messing about I have FINALLY managed to get this base body test-printed and fully assembled! It's as generic and blank a body as I could design to focus on engineering and tolerances rather than getting hung up on sculpting detail. Len Kagamine is demonstrating it; it's mostly a success! I need to adjust some tolerances, especially the ankle pegs (one partially cracked from overtightness) and the hip sockets (too loose, though still useable) but this is the best thing I've ever designed, at least functionally.

I just don't understand what it is about a particular subset of 80s kids like grew up mid to late 80's because my dad is early 80's and he not like that but he watched more live action that just can't let go of shit and always want their stuff to go on forever and obsessive over these toy shows, there's no other genration really like that even the ''90's kid'' thing fizzled out but you still got these 80's guys buy like fucking Silverhawks figures and shit. We got some news at NYCC, the end of DC, some sports figures, the announcement the Judge Dredd license, some more Fallout and GoW, and some new Spawn. Notably was the new body that King Spawn will be sporting, including inlaid elbows and knees (resulting in a pinless look) as well as what seem to be thigh swivels as well. Considering since Fortnite they've been essentially using the same formula, it seems likely that this will soon be the general formula for all their figures. I'm not sure why all the King Spawns always feature this kind of head (especially since it comes with 2) when that isn't even how he looks on the cover of King Spawn #1. (pic is less flashy and clear, so I'll post it second) And then there's Diablo Immortal Warlock Spawn, who's still sporting the old articulation scheme. I wonder if they make the other 2 versions if they'll use the new bodies.

The toy in question was a big orb round spaceship of some type that opened up revealing the decks / platforms. There were likely figurines inside possibly alien. It was a see through translucent blue colour. I thought it was maybe from Titan A.E but it isn't. I owned it in the early 2000's

NMP but my piece of shit stepdad threw all my sisters plushies outside and some have mold like this and others have black mildew dots. Its real bad on 2 or 3 of them. 4 in total that are stubborn that I wasn't able to fix... I've tried unstuffing and cleaning with all sorts of shit but haven't been able to remove it. Materials are like yellow jersey knit fabric, a yellow build a bear couch and orange and white like vintage plush short hair material. Also had rubber ducks thrown outside that got pink fungus mold and black mildew dots. I've seen miracle workers online. We're in the USA. Please recommend people.

For $35 in today's market this is actually very impressive. The quality and price reminds me of the 80s-90s and maybe and hopefully this will set a precedent for change in that these toy companies will start to price their products realistically. Maybe with Toys R Us making a return perhaps toy collecting will be not only affordable but fun as well.

So I have this idea to use legos in my projects. For example I have some ideas for a raspberry pi zero that involve a microphone or camera. I looked how much I will need to pay for them on https://www.lego.com/pick-and-build/pick-a-brick?query=2x4 And it is very cheep(I suppose there is a minimum order or a shipping fee this is not a problem). I want to order them because I am not going to look at rainbow vomit all the time if I go and get them from good will (I buy black only). So I want to make a raspberry pi based microphone to listen to people or a camera to listen and watch. My main problem was that if I want to place this in some enclosure I will need to spend $$ to keep them in place and after it is finished there is no way to change things inside and I need to spend more money. So why not use legos? I am not a lego fagot so I have no taboo about using knives and glue on legos. The basic idea is this. Lets say I want to hide a microphone inside my PC. I did think to use one of the old HDD enclosures I have however getting the microphone and PI in place can be a pain, And most methods result in it either moving around(very bad) or expensive bolted forever in place. So here is the idea buy some lego plates https://www.lego.com/pick-and-build/pick-a-brick?query=plate&selectedElement=303326 and use some plastic to plastic or plastic to metal(more on this later) glue to glue this in place forever. This is the base that should stick in place forever in the dummy HDD enclosure or whatever. On top of this I can use normal legos to build whatever structure I want. for example I can use my PC microphone and cut away the useless parts and then glue this to a small lego to be able to place it in different places. The PI goes into its plastic enclosure however I perma glue a lego plat to that plastic. This way I can swap or change it whenever I need or replace it with a different PI in the future etc. 1/3

For a few years now, action figures made by many Asian companies have been going out of their way to have the ugliest upper-leg articulation imaginable. What's confusing about this trend is that, rather than being some radical innovation, it's mostly just a regression back to the ugly spherical thigh swivel of old ToyBiz, Marvel Select, or early Marvel Legends figures. Putting articulation aside, from a sculpting standpoint, I find these designs hideous. It looks like the characters are sticking their legs inside a larger pair of legs. What's even dumber is that it makes no visual sense for the upper legs to go inside the lower legs. If anything, it should be reversed - large segments descending into smaller segments. If you want to see a proper implementation of this concept, check out the Nottaa NT-04 female body figures. The really unfortunate part for me personally is that Storm Collectibles switched to this hideous articulation scheme midway through their awesome Storm Arena toyline, even though they never used it before. While it can look okay with certain baggy fabrics, like Nash's or Gouki's (I still prefer the straight cut from the Ryu/Ken/Dan figures), it looks terrible on everything else. I've been waiting years for a company to make really nice and affordable 1:12 scale Darkstalkers and SNK figures. But that damn monkey's paw had to curse them with the worst legs I've ever seen. Even some domestic companies have been flirting with this articulation scheme (see the MOTU Chronicles Evil-Lyn above). Thankfully, Mattel wisely eschewed this scheme with their new DC collector's line. Hopefully it stays that way. What are your thoughts? Do you find this articulation scheme as off-putting as I do? What is your ideal leg articulation scheme?

For me it was the SHF Ultraman Z Alpha Edge form. I don't have my copy with me at the moment, but I bought this initially because I wanted to use action figures as drawing references. It didn't work out well because the articulation isn't the best and I mostly draw hot babes anyway, so I guess it was just an excuse for me to buy a toy from a show I liked. Any PlaRail/TrackMaster fans here? Being a gaijin, my exposure to it is obviously from Thomas, but it never really appealed to me as a kid due to how unrealistic it looked, and even as an adult I'm not a huge fan of it. But after getting into Japanese N gauge I've come across some cheap PlaRail of some of the shinkansen and EMUs I have and I kind of want to buy them just as something to keep in their box and display (for stacking purposes, not perceived value). Like they are kind of charming in a "chibi" kind of way. I also stumbled upon "PlaRail Real Class" which are pretty fucking cool, very nice detail, they would have appealed to me as a kid. But for the price I might as well just buy an N gauge model for 2 or 3 times the price.
