    🎉 Happy Birthday 4chan! 🎉

If anyone cares, Toys R Us in Japan is now struggling. First being sold to Don Quijote, then taken over by an Asian affiliate
    Sauce: Asahi, Marketech

They can't compete against Mandarake and other stores that are more "local."

This. Its hard to beat places like BIC Camera, Suruga-ya, Mandarake, etc. There are a lot of toy and hobby stores in Japan.
Although I am surprise to hear Don Quijote bought TRU, that seems a bit random. That would be like HEB buying Hobby Lobby.

Can't make it here where nobody likes toys, can't make it in Japan where everybody does, sounds like they can't exist anywhere.

Honestly the real problem is American toys, no one wants them not even Walmart hence why they shrink the ailses and dump it off to Ross. Star wars really did a number on them and thought going woke wouldn't make them broke. Its why Hasbro said the six films are what sell not the sequel trilogy

TRU actually has competition/saturation there. Every department and electronic store has a great toy department. Then there places like Kiddieland, Character Street, the Pokemon Centers, then Akihabara for the collectors. Toys R Us' only gimmick is how plentiful and spacious it is

The real question is why did they consider to deploy in Japan in the first place? Like even convenience stores there sell gundam kits at probably much better pricing

Toy culture is still strong there, so they can have all the toy stores they want. I assume TRU there is mostly for tourists, but they also have more space for domestic brands like we did, and also samurai stuff

Mitt Romney killed Toys R Us

    >Woke

You mean "non-whites and women". Mott Romney killed TRU, it is a documented fact. Facts don't care about your closet gay feelings.

    >sequel trilogy
is asstrocious trash, glad Hasbro finally got burned enough to understand this. Even TFA, the most benign of the sequel films, was a remake cash grab, and people immediately saw that once the sugar rush of “more muh Star Wars” wore off in mid-2016.

Wait for the Starfighter series. It's everything but skywalkers and lightsabers.
