Do all the clone troops and Stormtroopers have normal heads under their helmet? I always thought the helmet was the head but I watched some reviews for different figures and they all had a face under it. Pretty wild that all the stores don't advertise that at all.
    >>
They talk so fucking much it’s so boring. I like Brandon but he is overhyping the lamest things and they only have shitty unfinished prototypes. All that drum roll for the ghost 3 pack and Stormtrooper Kanan STILL doesn’t have ball hips
    >>
    >>11912228
Oh lol that was it for TVC. Explains all the stalling
    >>

Prototype, but already they fucked up and made Threepio's shoulders too wide
    >>
Guessing Tessek for the 6th slot. This wave is kinda lame…
    >>
    >>11912261
Yep. Well money saved today I guess. Still hoping for a new Bespin Luke and Boba
    >>
    >>11912226
It depends on the release. For both scales it can be different. In BS sometimes they'll have an unpainted head underneath that the helmet is glued onto. In TVC sometimes the helmet is a completely swappable head. Sometimes the helmet is the head for both.
    >>
Glad to finally get a normal looking IG-88
    >>
    >>11912130
    >How much of your collection is yellow by now?
I've got many TAC/Legacy clones that have yellow torsos but most aren't really as noticeable as some which have been left on card. And apparently the new Phase 1 four packs are already suffering from that same issue so at least they'll fit right in.
    >>
    >still yapping
Bro there’s is barely anything being shown, two TVC unfinished prototypes and one black series wave. I feel like they used to wrap these up way faster no one cares about all this autofellatio
    >>
    >>11912293
I don't get why it's going so long, it's not like they have a set runtime for these. Usually they just show what they need to show and are done in 20-30 minutes. This has been going for an hour now.
    >>
    >ONE MORE THING
    >HERE IT IS THE BIG THING YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR
    >THIS IS WHAT YOU SAT THROUGH THE RAMBLING TO SEE
    >it's a stormtrooper
    I mean... nice, I guess?
    >>
    >>11912296
I thought they did have a set time and figured it was an hour which is why they were padding it out to fill time but since it seems they don’t now that they’re over an hour it’s so unnecessary. Even as someone that is interested in some of the BTS info, this is too much. Yeah we get it’s the 50th but there is nothing that remarkable or different from the norm here to be glazing so much.

And okay they finally got to a new stormtrooper. Looks nice but the last one was perfect in my book so I don’t know if I feel the need to upgrade. I guess toe hinge is cool, I was wondering if they would use that again after Boba.
    >>
These ai slop "trailers" for the figures are so cringe lmao
    >>
What do you think of Blokees? Cause I saw the Grievous announcement and the teaser image looks awesome but I don’t own one to know what to expect
    >>
    >>11912316
I don’t really like them. They feel sturdier than true model kits but still a little bit flimsy and not as smooth to play with and pose. They also have a stylized design that’s not really 100% screen accurate. They are neat if you can find them for $15 in Walmart but I wouldn’t pay online prices plus shipping for them. Would rather just stick to black series for accuracy and more solid feel.

I am curious about Grievous though. Need to see more pics but from what I saw he looked a little thick. Black series grievous has some issues and even the SHF isn't perfect and very expensive so this could be an okay alternative though scale could be a concern since they are a little bit smaller. I’m also interested in that clone wars Anakin proto and inevitable Obi-Wan because both black series CW Anakins suck so may just replace mine with blokees because I’m not sure if Hasbro will update anytime soon or if SHf will ever bring theirs out of proto hell
    >>
So who's falling for the new packaging?
    >>
    dead franchise blud
    >>
    >>11911645
    >but would not get ST troopers or TOR troopers for example because I have no attachment to them.
So even if you think something is cool you won't buy it unless you like the source movie or show? That must save you a lot of money.
    >>
    >>11912407
    >the stormtrooper is an exclusive
    lol
honestly at this point i think i'm going to just go back into primarily 3.75, black series has been pretty disappointing outside of the eu figures, along with the lack of accessories, cut down articulation, and increasing price despite those things
maybe i'll snag the kotor figures if they make more, but as for regular figures i think i'm done
    >>
    >>11912296
    >>11912308
I'm guessing it's so they can get a lot of this out so they don't waste time on it during the NYCC panel
    >>
    >>11912407
Bro, you don't understand though. This is brand new and the height is adjustable. Beside, a a true Star Wars fans, you can't have just only one storm trooper. Waht are you, a fad collector tourist?
    >>
I think it's really funny that they talked about how the wave of BS covers the full spectrum of Star Wars but they were only were mentioning episodes 1 through 6. If the merchandisers don't even bother to bring up sequels anymore, as if they never happened in the first place, then Disney needs to take the hint to just drop them completely from the timeline and don't bother bring in Rey in to any future media.
    >>
    >>11912407
what's the problem? there will always be people wating to buy a stormtrooper. They would be dumb to not have some out constantly. If giving them a new card makes dumb-dumbs throw their old stuff away to buy the new one, even better.
    >>
    >>11912464
I already have like 6. If I see it in stores I'll grab it to add to my ranks, but I'm not going out of my way for it lol.
    >>
    >>11912484
everyone is fully aware of how toxic the sequels are, even disney
iirc the last time they were even tangibly referenced was in the bad batch with the force sensitive cloning shit
i, however, would like a new rey or zori bliss for customs as the old figures are getting harder to find and pricier
    >>
    >>11912407
It's astonishing how far this line has fallen
    >>
    >>11912497
when was the peak? 2018 - 2022 seemed pretty decent to me but there are a few figures released after that were pretty decent
    >>
    >>11912497
    >>11912505
Hot take: this line has never been good at all. An absolute sea of mediocre figures coasting on the brand's waning popularity for over a decade.
    >>
    >>11912505
I know it can't work now cause of costs and shit, but during the Clone Wars and Movie Heroes time? That was awesome. It was just random new bullshit, and then FUCKLOADS of army builders and easy to get main characters and lockers fulla fucking weapons because fuck you, here's more blasters.
    >>
    >>11912511
i meant black series specifically, 3.75 has had a number of fantastic little eras that makes it difficult to definitively say which one was the best
    >>
    >>11912508
    >An absolute sea of mediocre figures coasting on the brand's waning popularity for over a decade.
What franchise toy line doesn't? go into the generals and ask around. 99% of toys suck.
    >>
    >>11912508
That's literally the state of all media and toys for the past decade. Hell even the MCU has had to bring back the FOX era X-Men and Spider-Man just to stay relevant. Video games are nothing but remakes and remasters because those are the only things that sell anymore since no one wants the original slop they try to push out.
    >>
    >>11912492
The new starfighter movie they're putting out is sequel era, Disney just isn't willing to take the hint.

    >>11912508
Completely disagree, Black Series has a fair amount of great figures and in terms of detail, likeness and articulation those great figures blow earlier Star Wars figures out of the water. Every issue with the line is Hasbro making dumb cost-cutting decisions, not an inherent issue with the line itself.
    >>
    >>11912552
have they ever given an excuse for not having alternate heads or hands anymore? i feel like adding those would really boost the opinion of the line for some people
    >>
    >>11912557
No, I don't think they've ever explained what figures specifically merit alternate heads and hands. Young Dooku got an alternate head this year so you can have him beardless but then Anakin doesn't get a Sith head which is bullshit. The inconsistency in giving the motion blades is also aggravating, Kyle and Quinlan got them this year and then they just gave up.
    >>
    >>11912562
considering they debuted with dooku back in 2019 and you can count how many times they've been included since with one hand, it's clear their either don't give a shit or there was some other unknown reason they didn't add them in
i've also heard a rumour that disney doesn't want the toys to depict heads/ limbs being severed which is why alt heads and hands are so scarce, but that would be nonsensical considering star wars has a history of that being shown in the films
    >>
Does this set got any known issues? I watched a few reviews but the few complaints doesn't really concern me. Like how it's bad to have a special character in an army builder set, I will only buy one anyway or how they are fiddley, from someone who admits to collect on card and barely ever handles toys. Biggest issue would be that I don't know up front if they will have black lines on the feet and helmets or not but that's not too important to me.
    >>
    >>11912618
The helmets on them are kind of ass since they are reusing the removable Andor version with the shitty looking visors and weird proportions. Honestly they will probably be putting out a new 212th soon with a non removable helmet like the 501'st troopers from Kenobi, so I would just wait on that unless you really need/want Waxer.
    >>
    >>11912407
I don't understand the adjustable height gimmick. You can't make the torso longer and it look correct. Your arms, legs, feet, hands, head, shoulders, waist, etc. all grow together so its proportional (in most cases). Were there people complaining about height variability? Maybe I am missing something here?
    >>
    >>11912690
It's not just the torso that adjusts, it's the biceps and thighs as well to keep things proportional. The whole idea is to just give the options to adjust things slightly so that it's more accurate to the films where they had people in various heights playing stormtroopers. I think it's a good idea. Gives a reason to buy a couple of more Stormtroopers even though I already have more than I really need. I like that these ones have added articulation too.
    >>
What were the black series reveals today
    >>
I'm very confused why BLACKEDfags are complaining and dooming over the reveal of one of the best figures I have ever seen in that shitty line

    >>
    >>11912804
They have IG-88 sitting slightly low in the packaging, but here's how he compares side by side with the others
    >>
    >three pack to complete the S1 Ghost crew
    >have to get Kanan in disguise to get the other two
    >Sabine and Ezra are "deluxe" so the price is inevitably going to be much higher than needed
    >>
    >>11913012
    alright, that looks better
i wonder why they're doing another package change, although i guess the current one has been around for 6 years now
    >>
I agree that the amount of figures for the time spent on it was disappointing but honestly the figures revealed were pretty good all things considered, the standouts for me were AOTC Anakin (wow an alternate hand AND a swooshing blade, who would have thought) and the Galactic Marine and even Mr. Glup Shitto for ROTJ. Honestly my only only complaints are that ANH was represented by yet another pilot Luke and that something about the stormtrooper looks a bit off.

    >>11913046
it's an odd assortment but 3 were redos who really needed it and 3 were new figures
    >>
    >>11913049
Sure, they sucked. And anyone thinking they were worth the time and "effort" put in to them is wrong. These people do not care about Star Wars and are not even trying with these releases.
    >>
    >>11913078
What figures were you hoping for?
    >>
    >>11913078
That's still a whole lot of vagueposting
    >>
    >>11913037
I honestly hate that Ezra is deluxe for no fucking reason. Are all newly tooled figures just going to be deluxe now? I really hope this isn't the only way to get that figure because I don't really give a shit about the other two. Especially Kanan. I already have his head on the Stormtrooper body and it works fine without any mods. They didn't need to tool a new torso for that nor include him in the set at all. I would have rather just seen Sabine and Ezra as separate releases, even if they had to be deluxe for "reasons". I'm worried how they're going to try and rip us off with the Barge and Cantina halo items now.
    >>
    >>11913081
And you're getting a whole lot of vague garbage from Star Wars.
    >>
    >>11913090
Two/three packs have become a scourge, I am genuinely sick of having to buy two figures when often enough I only want one.
    >>
    >>11913097
nta but i wouldn't even mind the two packs as much if it was two new figures in it instead of all of them having one new guy and the other just straight reuse
it's less bad if the reuse is a generic, but when you're getting a rerelease of a named character + someone people actually want it's a problem
maybe the intent is for them to be for people just getting in to the line who missed out? but at that point i assume the financially smarter decision would just to put them in an archive wave to make them more accessible instead of limited run multipacks
    >>
    >>11913040
I'm kind of glad, I think the color coded packaging was a mistake. It worked when they did it for TSC back in 2006 because back then it was just six movies, EU and CW so they just had eight colors. It gave the packaging a little extra visual boost. When you now have so many movies, shows, games, etc. all requiring their own unique color they start to blur together and it defeats the purpose if three different properties are using three very similar shades of blue.
    >>
    >>11912659

    >>
    >>11913665
Why is there a difference? It's not too much to ask for to have a uniform plastic color or finish or whatever the issue is here.
    >>
    >>11913665
You can look at the promotional images for yourself (plus any phase 1 clone render) to see that it's not supposed to look like that, retard anon, so whether it's yellowed or they fucked up and made part of the armor cream instead of the proper white, people have a right to complain.

    >>
    >>11913665
It's a legitimate issue, Anon. Bossk's Bounty pointed this out in his review for the set a few weeks ago. Other people are complaining about it in their sets as well. It's not material difference because other recent clones or stormtroopers haven't had it.
    >>
    >>11913665
any clones that don't have that issue yet?
    >>
    >>11912316
Really fucking stupid spelling. That is the extent of my opinion on it.
    >>
why is no one here posting their toys? Do you all collect on card or do you don't own toys?
    >>
    >>11912316
Blokees are shit and I'm tired of all the weird assholes that are trying to make them a "thing" on this board.
    >>
    >>11913977
It can be and is 99.9% more likely material. Plastic is not some magical substance that squirts out of an endless supply of the same colors every time forever. Every single batch of toys has it's own new batch of plastic made for it. The chemical process and additives are made with a formula that if its mix is just just slightly off can result in differences in color. It's likely the abdomen is made with a different type of plastic or was made in a separate batch.

So it's not yellowing, but it is a fuckup. Yellowing needs a lot of time and light to happen.
    >>
    >>11914097

Not at all. Like 90% of all SW figures in existence have these hips. He can stand, he can sit, he can walk and he can run. He can be placed on almost any speeder bike or in almost any vehicle. Really the only thing he can't do is ride wide legged, so no putting him on a dewback or other similar creatures. And obviously no kung fu wide legged superhero hand to hand combat stances, but who fucking cares.
    >>
My gunship still hasn't even shipped. My cantina took a lot longer to receive than everyone else's too. Fuck my chungus life.

Agreed. Are swivel hips perfect? Obviously not, ball jointed hips are definitely superior theres not really any debating it. But after having played with the antenna mold clone alot over these last few months I really dont think swivel hips are that bad. Especially for a fan base whos primary mode of display is standing straight up and down in a cabinet somewhere kek
    >>
    >>11915097
There's very few characters in Star Wars that require ball jointed hips, it's superhero figures where not having them is usually unacceptable. Really the problem is when you let Hasbro cheap out in one area they'll cheap out in others.
    >>
Hell yeah. Ya'll ready for $30 deluxe in TVC next year?

Yeah definitely agree, id say acrobatic characters like jedi and sith are improved by them, troopers are 50/50 and depends largely on taste i think, everyone else is served just fine by pivot hips. Heres a couple of figs that are just fine as is with pivot hips imo.
    >>
You guys are nuts. Swivel hips should have been phased out 15 years ago in this scale. I was always pissed that I could buy G.I. Joes with full range of motion but never had a fucking Jedi that could pull off the same poses. I took it as an insult that they call TVC the definitive line for 3.75 but then would reissue figures with swivel hips while still charging $15+ for it. EVERY figure should have dumbbell hips and rocker ankles no matter who they are if they have the anatomy for it. Just because you don't see a character being acrobatic on screen doesn't mean their figure should be limited to effectively just standing and sitting.
    >>
    >>11915259
Of course swivel hips are outdated and shouldn’t be used for new stuff, I am just saying they would not prevent me from picking up an old figure if I thought the rest of it looked cool.
    >>
    >>11915259
Even for characters that just stand around ball jointed hips and ankle rockers make a big difference with ease of posing and poses looking more natural, especially if they're sitting on an uneven surface.

Still, a lot of old figures are pretty cool even with the limited articulation schemes.
    >>
    >>11912787
Amidala, Marine and Tessek are insta buys. IG-88 is understandable, considering how bad the original is but did these versions of Anakin and Luke really need to be remade? The old figures hold up fairly well imo. I suppose they did a new EP2 Ani to go with the EP3 one. I'm thinking we'll get a remade EP2 Obi Wan too. Anyway, if they're going to do a new Ani, I would be far more interested if they released a Deluxe Anakin with Swoop Bike? Would love to have more vehicles. I will probably skip the Luke. Really want more obscure OT characters. Give me Garendin.
    >>
    >>11915334
The original EP2 Anakin's articulation is extremely bad and is probably one of the figures most requested to get an update, a new version on the new EP3 body is very welcome. Unfortunately it does seem like they fucked up AGAIN and included his second lightsaber rather than his Vader-like first lightsaber.

hey hasbro, if you want easy tvc filler why not re-release lumat?
    >>
    >>11915334
i think the reason for the pilot luke remake is because that's one of the og bodies in the line that's still the only version of some characters
granted i think that one was still pretty decent, but i get the mentality
ep2 anakin was on the og ep3 anakin body with a new right arm that looked far too crisp compared to the rest of the figure, and couldn't pull off the one good pose the og rots anakin could due to not having the right head/ colours
    >>
    >>11915334
    >did these versions of Anakin and Luke really need to be remade?
Wasn’t Luke the very first black series figure or at least in the first wave? Makes sense to redo him to go with all the other redos of main characters they’ve been doing. And the old ep2 Anakin was an epic fail because they forgot to give him the fabric skirt so he looks ridiculous. It’s not like they wasted much tooling budget on them though, Anakin is just a new head on the ep3 body and I think I read that Luke reuses a lot of the Sigourney Weaver pilot but I haven’t compared the two.
    >>
Ah, just what the line needs. Another annual price increase. Thank you Mr. Cocks!

I had my fun with Mandalorian but frankly Maul is the only series in years that made me feel like I was watching Star Wars again. They clearly don’t know what they are doing with Mandalorian anymore, they lack the spark to make whatever they are doing with Ahsoka keep me interested.
I’m basically only invested in Shadow Lord and Jedi Survivor. And even those are smoldering flames
    >>
    >>11915259
In theory your stuff makes sense but almost every modern figure I've bought in the past like 3 or 4 years (and I didn't buy any since 2014 before that) has a bitch of a time standing. They feel like they're made with very little actual prototyping refinement into how the figures will function in real life. Older figures generally did the things they were supposed to do- they held their weapons and accessories well, they could stand easily, etc. My comic pack thrawn and potf2 Thrawn both stand easily and his ysalmari clips nicely onto his neck. My Dark Empire 3 Pack Thrawn, despite all of his articulation, can barely stand and the ysalamari falls off his neck if you breath on it, let alone pick up the figure.

    >>
    >>11915692
That sounds like a skill issue. I have figures posed all over my desk in various ways and don't have any issues getting them to stand. Even balancing on one foot is something most of these figures do with ease.
    >>
    >>11915699
Nah, I *can* get them to stand, it's just a pain in the ass and they will fall far more easily than most older figures. Many other lines do not have this issue(like acid rain for another modern 1/18 example). They are poorly engineered and it is most certainly a lack of proper prototype refinement, they're just 3D sculpting and 3D printing these things, maybe checking joint clearances and that's about it.

Am I the only faggot who finds new Clone Commando helmets weird looking? I've tried to garner reactions from the web, and it doesn't seem like there are any noticeable discussions about it. Am I crazy? Do I need to fix my eyesight (and brain)? It's almost universal rave.
Visor shape is weird, eye lens looks too "demure", if you get what I'm saying, almost convex.
Lower mouth grille is too thin and basically looks like straight chevron, instead of having some snarl to it at apex.
Top part of helmet also juts out too much at top and sides, it almost creates a diaper like shape.

Blokees are fine as a neat little experiment, the Blokees Clone trooper is the only one id say can sand as an equal to higher quality toys. Otherwise they cant match in quality to a more more "premium" figure, premium doing an INSANE amount of work here regarding a hasbro toy, but the reality is Hasbro feels premium compared to a blokees figure. Also its been proven at this point blokees has been doing some insanely aggressive astroturfing online in the collector communities which is unfortunate cause theres so much fake positivity for the whole brand, not to mention that the stuff is absolutely busting the doors off of every local comic/hobby/toy store all over, the distribution for these little blind box figs is insane and really puts hasbro to shame
    >>

They look like a kiddie version of a Figuarts. I haven’t gotten any so far myself, but given that they’re catching up to most other toy lines extremely quickly, I’ll likely get some eventually.

I have noticed that a lot of content creators get sent the new figures the DAY OF release, or sooner, to butter them up get reviews out immediately. It’s just the typical Chinese method of doing business where they zerg rush a million cheap products into the market undercutting prices of competitors because they each get paid like 1/16 of what an American would for the same job.

The Starforce one is fine but Zero has weird loose butterfly joints on his shoulder making me question them. The Star Wars ones I have seen at aliexpress were hit or miss. Some looking fine, others having weird joints from the images presented.
That Annakin though looks pretty good
    >>
    >>11916148
I don't have any yet, but it seems to depend a lot on the character design. The difference in quality is there, but there are fortunate examples like the recently announced Batman and Catwoman especially that have been making the rounds where the shortcomings are not noticeable. I presume that troopers are good candidates for fortunate Blokees if they work on the proportions.

    >>
    >>11916612
Only you can answer that for yourself. Speaking for myself, I'm starting realize that I shouldn't bother with toys of anything I don't have a real emotional attachment to. I just cancelled my preorder for Lord Starkiller despite BBTS finally getting him in stock because, even though it's very cool design, I just don't care enough about the games to really get anything from looking at him on my shelf. Also, $42.99 just feels like a lot for what's there.
    >>
    >>11916612
do you have plans to do anything with it? if so then you want it
if you don't know what to do with it then you probably just want it for the sake of it
one advantage to wanting a cheap thing is if you plan on doing customs though, as it's far more palatable to potentially ruin a toy that was cheap than one that was full price

The blokees storm trooper is not worth it period, its way to small to even be passable as a little too short for a Storm trooper. The clone on the ither hand, while Definitely a little small, is way easier to fudge in as a match with black series or other 1/12 clones

They say bullshit all the time, it’s clearly just the black series shrunken down and when the black series was made, the actor wasn’t cast, they just made up their own sort of realistic interpretation of the character.

    >>11916784
I’m not trying to hate too much but every time I see comparisons like this, I don’t see why anyone would choose blokees over black series if they could only have one. Left looks like an actual person in an armor suit, right, doesn’t look bad for a toy, but looks like some cartoony fortnite thing and has jarring joints and gaps.

But maybe not everyone is an accuracy/realism fag like me I know there are people that want clone wars animation style sculpts to come back like the old 3.75" line
    >>
    >>11916850
I think blokees biggest advantage is price difference, this clone is 15 bucks at walmart and is quickly restocked, I Definitely agree the blokees fig looks more toyetic and mecha like and the hand sculpts are reeaaally bad but I think for half the price of a hard to find black series figure, for alot of people, kids especially, blokees is whipping hasbro badly

This keeps happening to me with several items. It's really annoying but if you just hold out and watch it, it'll go back down to the original price eventually.
    >>
    >>11917230
Unsure, I think they're a whole bunch of retools slapped together (quite well, in fairness) but the torso and shoulder plate region of that deathwatch looks about right for the one I tried the green helmet on (itself din djarin recolour I believe) and you have the heavy trooper already sorted. As for the guy I have the heavy mando helmet on, at this moment I have no clue what his torso is without consulting a guide or pulling all my figs out, which I was gonna do at the weekend.
    >>11917233
Interesting, I'll pull the ball from one of the hawk donors then and see if it fits, or take photos at the very least. The green helmet is gonna be a pain though, super shallow ballhole in the helmet itself and quite small from what I recall, and all of the hawks seem to have mando side-character tooling, but no dins (unless the red chest guy is a din, unsure, maybe axe woves?)
Either way, I appreciate the help and hopefully we can figure out a workable solution that makes for slightly changed up army builders. On the subject though, have you got the night trooper set? I'm curious if enoch can be de-enoch'd. Was thinking of maybe swapping his helmet for a damaged stormie one from the fett deluxe, which surely works, but I wonder if his kama can be slipped off without damage.
    >>
Why would they sell Jango Fett as a deluxe figure if he comes with less stuff than the normal release? That's just a bad look. Wouldn't be as bad if it had just been a normal re-release.
    >>
    >>11917491
I do not have any of the night troopers friend, so I am unable to test it for you. Im not sure where the red torso comes from, kinda looks like death trooper or imperial tank driver torso but im not sure, the you could always cut or Dremel the socket on the smaller helmet or mod the joint itself and glue it in place on the helmet
    >>
    >>11917552
short term gain over long term investment
most 'deluxe' figures come with shit that should be in the standard release
as you said, it's a bad look especially with characters that had normal releases for years until they came up with the deluxe idea to charge extra
they should really be only for actual big characters like jabba/ rotta, and not for standard figures with accessories or are slightly bigger than average

Enoch can only be de-Enoch'd so far. The way that figure is designed, it has a bit of a notch in the waist to accommodate the belt piece. He also doesn't have armor on his crotch like the normal Stormtroopers do, so it it looks like he's wearing red panties. If you removed his kama, you would need something to fill in all that space with. Also the kama comes off real easily. Just boil and pop the top torso piece and the kama can be slipped over the rest of the torso. It's not held in place with glue or anything.

Morgan Elsbeth coming with nothing is a massive omission. She 100% should have come with the sword of Talzin like in the show, but I guess Hasbro was just going off concept art like usual. I’ve seen people 3D print one for her. The one that actually comes with mother Talzin is ironically a different design. Although you can fudge it into being used by Elsbeth if you’re not that particular. It is supposed to be her sword anyway.

    >>11918877
Didn't the figure come out before the Ahsoka show? She should've at least had the beskar spear though.
    >>
    >>11918964
She was released a couple of months after the show premiered. The problem is Disney always being gay about spoilers so Hasbro likely didn't even know about her sword. They didn't seem to know about the star map either because she should have come with that at the very least if they didn't want to spoil stuff from the last episode. And now we're heading into the second season right around the corner and past the time where it would have made some sense to rerelease her in some form that had her Nightsister face paint on and comes packed with the sword. Would have been neat to get her and maybe the zombie Deathtroopers in a 3 pack or something to go with the Night Trooper set.
    >>
    >>11918877
hasbro going entirely off of concept art isn't entirely their fault, i know lego was forced to do the same when the sequels were airing because disney was scared of spoilers or something and people complained that the sets were inaccurate/ never appeared in the films

Does it really matter though? Sometimes figures are just lame and boring. Were you really dying to add a Morgan Elsbeth to your collection? With figures/characters like these I just don't care enough to be disappointed but maybe that's just me.
    >>
    >>11919110
when the figures are $11 it hardly matter who they are and what they come with
when they're approaching $30 of course i'll be more critical
    >>
I just realized that I mostly collected helmeted dudes, I rarely get characters with faces, it's mostly limited to iconic dudes like Obi Wan and Anakin, or rare exceptions like Rebel Hoth trooper
    >>
    It's finally fucking here.
    >>
    >>11919110
The figure in your pic came from an era where there were so many toys coming that it was perfectly acceptable to get some more "boring" ones in the mix because we knew that in addition to this dialog free middle aged woman with 2 seconds of screentime we were also getting every trooper under the sun and every alien that walked past the camera for 2 seconds.

Now almost every disney movie or show is crammed full of main and side characters that look exactly like this boring middle aged woman, and figures wise they don't make even a fourth of what they used to. We barely get anything that's a background character, and every main character is boring.

    Fucking depressing state.
    >>
    >>11919190
there was an attempt when tfa came out, but those toys shelfwarmed like nobody's business
granted even the main characters were clogging the pegs so i don't know how much of that was just overstock or just lack of interest, which would be strange because iirc tfa was considered 'fine' back in 2015/16
    >>
    >>11919200
Per Hasbro TFA stuff did well enough, but they probably overshot production. It wasn't as egregious as TPM's, though. That said even in 2015 it was obvious the toy industry was not what it once was.

In general a lot of Hasbro's decisions since TVC and TBS are a product of the industry as a whole as much as Star Wars's status as an IP.

    >>
    >>11919345
Eh, I can see it. There was a lot of hype around the time of TFAs release like 'Star Wars is back!' so I can see the toys getting a boost from that. Disney didn't completely shit the bed until TLJ.

The attempt was bullshit. A ton of it was black series garbage for faggots and a ton of it was 5 POA but modern sculpt shit no one asked for. Wasn't this when the actual 1/18 line got relegated to barely anything as like walmart exclusives or some nonsense? And even then including 5 poa shit there werent that many background characters released. Plus 90% of Disney shit was brown poop outfits with diversity humans wearing them. Even the aliens look like generic shit. Genuinely theres like 6 good designs in TFA, 2 of them got toys and both of them were 5 POA shit.

He already mentioned it. It was when the "1/18 line got relegated to barely anything as like walmart exclusives." People didn't just want TVC revived for the cards, but because they wanted a broader revived interest in 3.75" figures. We eventually got it.

They don't even need to "retcon" anything
it's space magic, they can bring Luke and Co legit with something else made-up. they almost did it in their lame Emperor ploy when he wanted to enhabit Rey's body (n-no h-hidden messages there, they seriously did not even think about that concept at all, like the rest of the sequel story garbage)

Luke could Force-enhabit a new actor, or droid, or even just be a ghost and use Mark Hammill as a ghost-guy teaching new lessons because Rey figured out how to make him more-stable and less of a ghost or something

sure a lot of that sounds lame, but they have non-retcon options

    >>11920840
New to this but are Vintages much worse?
    >>
    >>11920947
no, but both lines have been pretty iffy lately
both lines keep getting low effort multipacks and exclusives that jack up the price and often only have one desirable figure in it
as people were saying, the frog lady has been a wanted figure for a while and shoving her in a multipack with filoni's literal self insert and some other fat fuck is a big middle finger
the only reason they're doing this is because the other two figures would never sell, hasbro is entirely banking on the frog lady selling the set
    >>
    >>11920947
No, most now are just smaller black series. Sometimes TVC gets a figure later and it ends up being better or more accurate to the source than the black series counterpart because they got better references or just learned from mistakes.

It should have been the Frog lady and her husband who could have shared most of her parts. Then either a Quarren or a Mon Cal from the episode where the two of them are reunited.

A nice amphibian themed pack that everyone would have lost their fucking minds over.

If they were hellbent on including one of these fat gay pilots then ditch the other and include more of the spiders from the episode- like the big one that was in the black series pack but not TVC yet. Also where is the frog Lady's gun?

Just the worst possible way to handle this that they could have honestly. I'm glad to finally have her but fuck they really did the absolute worst fucking shit imaginable to release her. Genuinely the only thing worse would have been an unchanged razorcrest rerelease that was now suddenly $200 more expensive and only included her as exclusive pack in. Even this i might have preferred.

did they give "Frog Lady" a name? or is it going to say "Frog Lady" on the box?

Can't they just make up a name? Decipher Card game made up all kinds of names for background characters, that "stuck" as "real". I think Decipher even gave the bounty hunters like Bossk and IG-88 ships they designed graphically, completely.

I know early SW had Hammerhead and Snaggletooth and others, so maybe some people think Frog Lady as a name is good-enough?
    >>
    >>11921013
They never gave The Client a name and that's what is on the box. Grogu was "The Child" before he was named. So maybe something like that again. Actually I imagine they said her name/whatever they're calling her during the panel... Need to find a recording of that
    >>
    >>11921001
Fully agreed. I would have been way more excited to get her, the husband, and either a Quarren or that Mon Cal in the sweater that fixed the ship. Can someone explain to me how Sabine is a deluxe figure for coming with two guns and a shitty electronic dongle?
    >>
    >>11921112
More than likely Hasbro's excuse is going to be that she just has so many paint apps that they have no choice but to make her deluxe.
    >>
    >>11921115
The deluxe Boba from way back in the day had better paint apps AND more accessories to justify the price increase, is this how low the deluxe label has fallen?
    >>
    >>11921125
Yep. Once they realized they could use that excuse to justify charging deluxe prices for regular figures with minimal justification, there was no turning back.
    >>
Man why does the deluxe thing need to be explained every single time there is a deluxe release? How many years have we been doing this? Its kind of annoying to have to explain every single time but I suppose its ultimately Hasbro's fault…

Just understand that at this point deluxe is basically arbitrary. Hasbro has given reasons why certain figures need to be priced higher, mainly coming down to production costs. For some figures I believe them. But there are several "deluxe" figures that do not match Hasbro's justifications. TVC Jango Fett is the best example. He didn’t need to be deluxe. There are no intricate paint apps, no new tooling with limited reuse potential, he’s not big, he doesn’t come with a lot of accessories. He’s "deluxe" because the TVC budget is tiny so Hasbro is squeezing more money out of popular characters because they know you will buy them. They know you will buy deluxe Baze Malbus to finish your Rogue One Crew. They know you will pay more for Cobb Vanth even if he’s missing paint apps because he’s cool. Same with Ahsoka and whatever else. They just need more money that’s literally it. The Wookiee from Acolyte could be deluxe but isn’t because they know no one cares and they won’t be able to get away with it. But popular characters will occasionally and randomly be priced higher even if they don’t necessarily cost more to make. Just get used to it. Actually seriously how are you not used to it or haven’t figured out the pattern when we have been going through this for at least 5 years probably more.

Honestly Hasbro should just fuck off with the deluxe label because it just confuses people. There were retards that thought figures are more expensive because the box was bigger. "Just make the box smaller!!" they said. That’s not how that works. Just get rid of the deluxe label and just charge whatever they need to charge just like how import companies do it who don’t have a consistent set msrp for their figures.
    >>
    >>11921160
It probably needs to be explained constantly because deluxe used to mean, you know deluxe when it came to Star Wars figures. And deluxe has an acquired meaning in the collector's community as well, namely more accessories.

    >filoni's literal self insert
I've seen a lot of people criticize Filoni for this and his appearance in the movie, but if you watch the behind the scenes stuff you'll see that Filoni didn't want to do it and tried his best to get out of it. It was Favreau who insisted on it. I know it's a difficult thing to grasp in this age of narcissists, but not everyone likes being on camera.

Only thing good for that show was giving us Vader humiliating her with her own saber, Vader stopping a ship with one hand with the force and the scene with his half broken helmet instead of losing the entire upper side that he usually does.

what if they were ALL Gulps at this point?

I haven't seen the "Non-Darth" Maul show yet. (did they explain how he doesn't have another name? Darth Tyrannus was Dooku, Darth Vader was Anakin, Darth Maul is um... still Maul?)

aaaaaanyway.... I wondered if it would be fun to avoid watching the new movies/shows, and just collect the figures. I thought about that after the Acolyte show was the worst thing ever, but the characters looked kinda neat. if you remove them from the story, they might be cool characters (?)

so I saw these new characters in the store, and I have no idea who they are... and I kinda don't want to know.
    >>
    >>11921730
Maul mentions in Rebels that he had a name before he was given that title but he doesn't remember it since he was taken when he was really young. In the old EU, Talzin named him Maul and Sheev thought it was already cool as fuck for a Sith so he just added the title Darth to it.
    >>
    >>11921735
    >but he doesn't remember it since he was taken when he was really young.
sounds like a cool opportunity to have given him a new name, maybe by an important side-character, who would now be an important friend to him. did they blow that?

exec: "we need to name the show MAUL so everybody knows who it is!"
    >>
    >>11921747
He's still fundamentally a Sith, even though he claims he is something else, so I don't think it would really make sense to give him a new name. The whole plot of the show was him doing whatever it took to make Devon his apprentice, so that he could train her to help him take down Palpatine and grab control of the galaxy for himself. If that's not Sith behavior then I dunno what is.
    >>
    >>11921730
the mando chick effectively has no character anyways, and the twi'lek is nothing to write home about, a little edgier than ahsoka maybe
    >>
    >>11921730
It’s actually decent. Sure it’s more of a setup of a season cause the start is Maul hunting down people that wronged him before then getting in conflict with the Empire but it isn’t anything offensive either.
It actually used the jobber Inquisitors that Ahsoka killed well too with their pursuit and had some nice fight scenes.
    >>
    >>11921768
God damn I hope Daki is in the first wave of TVC for 2027.
    >>
    >>11921753
I think it’s more because Maul was genuinely loyal to Palpatine before being thrown away. So he isn’t one of those power hungry Sith that aim to take their master’s place. I mean he does now but it’s for revenge. His behavior is Sith at core and he’d kill innocents for his goal but there is some conviction to the powers one has as gifts they are born with and a hate to it being squandered so it isn’t like there is some direct hate to the Jedi and the like, rather a disgust that their passive behavior.

Rebels touches on a lot of Maul's post-Sith psychology. By that point he's given up on the Sith way altogether, no longer has grand plans to establish his own power base, no longer wants to challenge his old master, etc. but he still can't let go of Sith mentality because that's all he knows. He meets Ezra and feels a connection to him, and because every other person he's had a bond with is either dead or abandoned him, he's somewhat desperate to get Ezra on his side. He still thinks like a Sith so he can't just say he wants to be friends, he has to treat it as a master-apprentice relationship with a defined power dynamic even if this isn't what he's actually trying for. He's so fucked up by his Sith training that he can't just say "hey let's hang out and watch a movie or something" he has to threaten and intimidate Ezra and try to murder his friends, and he knows this isn't working but it frustrates him because he doesn't know how else to live.

You see it again in his final duel with Obi-Wan, he still hasn't let go of that vendetta even though he knows that there's no point to it and it's not even entirely Obi-Wan's fault that his life went to shit. He's failed at everything and wants at achieve at least one of his goals even if it gains him nothing, and it's only after he fails that he acknowledges that he and Obi-Wan were on the same boat all along. They were both victims of the same person. The same thing happens with Dooku, he absolutely hated him but after sensing his death he realizes that Dooku was just used and discarded like he was and sympathizes with him.

I think ultimately a big part of Maul's character is that he isn't quite as evil as Sidious and hasn't had all humanity driven from him, but he can never fully leave that path because it's too ingrained in him. Even when he genuinely wants to stop living like a Sith he can't because he doesn't know how.
    >>

    >>
    >>11922210
That's a fair price for a Black series set though? Wait, you mean to tell me that's a vintage series set? Fuck that.
    >>
    >>11922084
No, more like… Lawful Evil or one of those Sith from the Old Republic if you pick light-aligned choices. Basically instead of going around killing people you threaten them, try to convert them or call them out on shortsightedness. But there is still the selfish factor even when you are trying to make the Empire better.
Back in Clone Wars, Maul could estimate Sidious’ plan and Anakin’s importance in it. He couldn’t decipher the full intent, but his actions forced Sidious to take action too. There is a lot of truth to what he said about it but since his goal was revenge and therefore killing Anakin he not only ruined the chances of alliances but also caused people to disregard the truths.
In Shadowlord it isn’t much different. He is hunting crime lords and pitting them against each other, but not for greater good rather for revenge. The “good” he causes is more of a bonus because he doesn’t interfere with innocents if not needed. This is why Daki still knew he couldn’t be trusted, but also how he could sway the padawan Devon since he was doing something instead of living like a beggar and hiding from the Sith.

now that the dust has settled, why was the endor trooper a deluxe when the hoth trooper a standard release?
the only difference between the two i can see is the endor trooper has a bigger backpack
    >>
    >>11922270
That final duel of Obi-Wan against Maul was pretty kino I'll say, capped out his, arguably, unnecessary arc pretty nicely. Some poignant dialogues and sharp action scene.
He still died as spiteful bastard.
    >>
    >>11922295
Their excuse was the camo deco on the pants.
    >>
    >>11922370
i see, charging that much extra for that is pretty shitty
i wonder how much in sales they lost because of that genius idea, the figure itself is fine and certainly would've done well if not for the absurd price they wanted for it
the rebel troopers are underrated as a whole, but it's hard to justify getting them when only the hoth trooper was sold as a standard release, almost 7 years ago now
    >>
    >>11922410
I honestly don't know why they even bother with the Deluxe label at all. They use these excuses like deco, size, dedicated tooling with limited reuse, etc., that end up being inconsistent across the board anyway. And now just about everyone is aware of their game so they just wait for those figures to go to clearance and wind up paying less than even a standard figure at retail.
    >>
    >>11921634
    very cucked thinking
    >>
    >>11922423
short term gain over long term profit i assume
disney/ hasbro is banking on the whales to eat the cost upfront and don't care that no one else will fall for it
if the deluxes were just the giga figs like rotta, jabba, and other similarly large ayys i think people would be much more lenient on it
if they really wanted to upcharge for more paint on generics, the way to go would be to sell them in a 2 pack with a bunch of accessories to army build them
ideally there would be at least 4 guns and 4 faceplates, maybe with some other things like the hoth trooper's bandana to further increase troop variety
    >>
    >>11922210
Lol they really said "fine we'l knock ten bucks off are you happy now????"
If you bought 3 single carded figs at full price itd only be 60 bones so why is it 70? Greed obviously, but i remember when multi-packs meant you were getting a little bit of value vs. Buying stuff individually. This set should be 50 dollars flat out. 15 bucks per fig is a fair price for a set thats 2 identical characters
    >>
    >>11922423
Its crazy because historically the idea was the increased cost of a newly tooled figure or a fig with increased paint apps was spread over the whole wave. So 1 or 2 figs would be new or have nice paint and the rest would be re-use/re-tool to basically make the money back but now they just front load the cost of new tooling or paint apps with this bullshit deluxe price and fill the waves with unpainted, reused stuff.
    >>
    >>11922511
Yea it makes zero sense. The Cantina 4 pack was cheaper than that and it had way more new tooling than what went into this set. I really don't get it. The HTTE carded three pack was still $20 less and probably had about the same amount of new tooling as this one does. Even accounting for the price increase to $20 per figure, where is this extra $10 coming from? Guess the price of cardboard must of gone way up.
    >>
    >>11922530

Also, guys I really dont like nitpicking like this because its annoying... but when the toys are marketed as premium screen accurate "definitive" whatevers.... we really cant be charging 20 dollars when the true detail isnt there. Im really gonna say this, but this is absolutely unacceptable. Hasbro is so cheap and pathetic they wont sacrifice any margin for a tiny little paint hit on a lightsaber hilt that, on a previous release, was accurately done
    >>
    >>11922736
You don't even have to pretend to throw a fit. I had a slight issue with a recent figure that realistically didn't matter but because it was a tad more expensive and impossible to replace, I called Hasbro and even admitted that it wasn't a big deal but it was more of a principle of the thing than anything. They sent me a replacement figure that turned out to be worth more than the one I called about. Just be respectful and you'll probably get something. There's a good chance that something will be literal dog shit, but I've gotten some winners over the years that way.

When I got my cantina 4-pack the box they came it was completely shredded and literally torn open. Somehow they were still inside and in fair condition. I really should have taken a picture. I have only ever had two real QC issues with Hasbro products, a tusken raider hand tearing off right out of the box (purchased from Walmart), and a Chewbacca's arm tearing off at the elbow joint out of the box, so I have never bothered to contact Hasbro support before. I had no idea they were actually helpful and just assumed they would be difficult. Are they more like Lego support then?

finally got the traya and nihilus two pack
nihilus is fine, i already had the old head on the tfa kylo body so he isn't as neat to me as traya
i've heard some people have had issues with theirs but mine is fine, the only minor issue i had was some excess plastic on the smallest floating piece that i just shaved off
traya also has what looks to be the best generic female torso for jedi we've gotten
hopefully we see it again with a more accessible figure in the future, it's too useful to just be locked in an amazon exclusive two pack in just black forever

Oh man finally got shipping notification for the gunship. On a related note I looked at eBay sold listings for Coleman Trebor and he is selling for $200-250… lol people are crazy. Hope some retard will buy mine for that much because I’m probably not going to keep him.
    >>
Genuine question, why is there such a split between TVC collectors and keeping the figures on the card and Black Series collectors opening the figures and displaying them? Is 6 inch just the accepted display scale thanks to other companies?
    >>
    >>11926887
TVC has a built-in cardfag base because the cards are specifically designed to appeal to their nostalgia.
    >>
    >>11926887
The vintage cards are more interesting packaging, but it's also just that TVC has a very long legacy and MOC/MISB collectors have been a prominent part of Star Wars collecting for decades; it's why it's so easy to find Power of the Force stuff carded (along with sheer volume).
    >>
    >>11926958
Meant to add that plenty of TVC collectors still open the figures.
    >>
    >>11926959
Yea, this is an important distinction. Many TVC collectors buy multiples of a figure specifically to open as well as to keep carded.
    >>
    >>11926959
    >>11926995
Why didn't keeping it in the box stick for Black Series?
    >>
    >>11926996
cuz you can just repack the figures into the boxes they ship in, though it's not like it's at all difficult to cut around a carded figure and repack it later as if it never was opened
    >>
    >>11926887
smaller toys fall over more easily. So keeping them on card keeps them safe and clean
    >>
    >>11926883
Enjoy it Anon. It's really stunning in person. I haven't even bothered to open my Coleman yet. Maybe I should consider selling him...
    >>
    >>11926887
How did you come to this conclusion? Most TVC collectors are openers and a lot of black series collectors keep them sealed too.
    >>11926996
As I said black series has in box collectors too though maybe not as high a percentage as TVC. Don’t you remember the outrage over plastic free packaging when they removed the windows and had to revert it? Supposedly one reason was drop in sales from box collectors.
    >>11927028
I really don’t think carded collectors are thinking about figures falling over as their primary reason to keep them sealed… I have never heard of that rationale.

    >>11927888
You literally have them in your hands and can’t tell what the differences are? The three Empire ones are all the same as each other, the Jedi one is a fully new sculpt different from Empire. The vintage card release has darker yellow paint on the jetpack than the boxed one but the accessories are the same.

Also if the loose ones are the orange line and Archive, you are missing the SDCC one that came with carbonite Han but it’s the same figure you already have three of so not sure it matters
    >>
Have any 3rd party companies made a Slave Leia recently? Pisses me off that she's the only thing missing from my Jabba setup.
    >>
    >>11928347
There’s not that much third party stuff for Star Wars. I can only think of that soft goods Boba and Maul, everything else is officially licensed and they always make the same shit like stormtrooper, Vader, mando, etc.

Aren't Sith losing a significant amount of knowledge with their kill your master thing? I won't teach my student X and Z so he can't kill me, oops 5 jedi attacked me behind the cantina and my student takes the opportunity to finish the job. X and Z are lost.
    >>

You're not really losing out on anything if they were never going to share that knowledge to begin with.
    >>
    >>11929816
The Old Republic deals with that. If you go picking light-sided choices as a Sith people react as if you are peculiar but go through what you ask so long as it doesn’t bother them much. Later in the game you can point stuff like that and some Sith agree with this whole killing each other for personal power they are weakening the empire as a whole and being the main reason they are losing to the Jedi in spite of their strength.

The new Black Series wave is on sale on Amazon right now for $27.99. My pre-orders all got delayed but, these should be Amazon Price match garauntee so they should refund me the price difference which is nice. Ended up grabbing Luke since I'm willing to pay the old price point for him, originally I was only gonna get the Galactic Marine and maybe IG88,

Galactic Marine is unavailable currently it seems.

Alright boys what are our predictions for the 2027 Haslab Death Star? A year or two ago I'd have guessed $999 for a mid-sized playset with maybe stretch goals like entertainment-themed space barrels, crates, hangar clutter or an exclusive paint deco death star astromech. That was before a mini-rig was priced $79 though so now I'm just gonna take my $999 assumption from before and double it
    >>
    >>11930474
I think we're getting a $500 mini playset that looks like a few of the POTF2 playsets glued together
    >>
    >>11930474
    >>11930509
$600 - $900 Detention Block, short hallway, a few cells. The pricier version will add optional cells for the other side of the hallway. Will include "Death Squad Commander" themed officer on exclusive card, stretch goals will be pristine/destroyed autolaser blisters, holocam units, garbage grate. Vague promises for future Death Star modules that could be compatible if this performs well.
    >>
    >>11930431
I remembered most GameStop/target exclusives from like 2022 were $27 plus shipping. I guess mainline caught up to that price but at least there isn’t an exclusive tax now except for like pulse exclusives.

    >>11930474
I don’t want them to bother they should just do a bunch of modular locations in $60-80 range with a pack in figure like their other playsets. That’s what I wished they did with the cantina too because I would’ve liked just one booth or the entrance without all the rest of it. People are sick of dropping $500 on this stuff that still feels like it’s missing things. No one has space for haslabs anymore either. I think it’s time to move on they are barely funding too. If this does happen I would guess $600-800. The internet will be so annoying after the announcement with one side screaming and crying about the price and the other side telling them to buy 4 if they want to support TVC

    >>
    >>11930562
    >it won’t hit the goal and they will put him in a multipack later
    >>
    >>11930474
My prediction is there isn't going to be one. The last two barely limped over the finish line. The plans they had for a DS from a few years ago were already pricing it between $800-1000. There is no way they could get away with that today and to charge more than that would be suicide basically. Plus when they surveyed those people in the community about what a HasLab for it should be, they got completely different answers from everyone so there's not really a good consensus on what the set should even be, as the station doesn't have a simple expectation and footprint like the Cantina or Sailbarge do.

I would say the best way to approach a Death Star would be offering several modular playsets that would let us build out however big or small we want while keeping it shelf friendly. Offer one large set as a Pulse exclusive similarly to the Throne Room, and then do a Hallway set in the mainline that that can connect to it, and an additional set in the way of something like The Armorer's Forge later in the year that's one specific location, like the chasm Luke and Leia swing from or the control room where R2 and 3PO hang out. And just keep following that format every year. Next hallway set could be the Detention Block with connecting cells and the other set to go with it could be the control area with the elevators and console. If they even do a HasLab at all I am guessing they will switch gears from TVC and do something like a Black Series X-Wing to go with the new pilot Luke they're doing.

I finally got my gunship and... I don't know if I'm feeling it. Maybe it's because my passion for Star Wars is not really there anymore or maybe I just haven't played with it enough. I haven't opened the carded pilot or put any figures in it yet.

But still on first impression, I don't feel like it's as impressive as people have been saying, it's just big. It doesn't feel premium at all. The stand is made to look fancy but it's just cheap plastic shit that's hollow underneath. The door panels feel really flimsy and the bubble turrets droop a little. It just feels akin to some big but cheap truck toy I had as a kid except there's a little more sculpted detail.

I kind of memory hole how much I spend on toys and try not to think about it too much but I think this was over $500 after everything. Is it worth that much? Well maybe most toys aren't worth their prices these days. People buy $1000 lego sets I guess it just is what it is. But I wonder if I should have bought something else with that money instead. I feel like if this thing just disappeared I wouldn't miss it.
    >>
    >>11931028
I think the doors are the biggest disappointment for me. The fact that the front doors are just removable panels instead of having an actual sliding mechanism like the rear ones is such an epic fail. Like I knew about this going in but I think it's more disappointing than I expected in hand because you can't truly replicate a TCW gunship. I never liked how with the movie gunships there is just a big open space in the troop bay and the doors only cover part of it. It would be so much cooler if you could have the entire bay closed then at the press of the button both doors slide open to reveal the troops inside.
    >>
    >>11931028
If you aren't feeling it then just sell it. Personally I think it's fantastic. Much better than the old ones. My only regret is I only had enough money to buy one.
    >>
    >>11931028
I get what you mean, it's underwhelming for how they priced it. The jump from the old 80s size Millenium Falcon to the big one and likewise the jump from the old AT-AT molds to the new big one felt huge and exciting feature rich, and then the new LAAT is... a bit bigger than the previous one. Like yeah it's great and all but hard to justify when you consider the insane jump in cost and that it was pushed as a huge Haslab dream project sort of deal.

    >>
    >>11931204
Their vehicles and playsets always feel underwhelming to me desu. I have the hallways and some starfighters and speeder bikes and they are just expensive background props for photography and the gunship feels the same. I don't know why but I always found more enjoyment in the lego versions of these vehicles and sets. I guess building them accounted for a lot of the fun.
