These are the Pre-Built Armory Offerings from this year's Legion's Con. While at the event itself you'll be able to mix and match parts just like previous years, but this year they're just going to drop ALL the parts as in-stock figures after everything is done. They want to prevent people from buying up just the exclusive parts to scalp later after the con and make it so you have more choice in how you build your own figure.

Speaking of which, the official Unofficial builder app is already up and running.

Which reminds me, would the King Bog Goblin head from the head pack work with the Horror of Einsamall Burris Birgerstori figure? Thinking of going to LC this year since it's 3 hours away and a Bog Goblin army is tempting to build at the show.

There's no chance the Bog Goblin head will fit on the newer, smaller Gnome/Imp body. The Bog head is actually two pieces, the first piece is a face plate and that pegs into a large neck piece. The peg for the neck is designed for the standard 1.0 bodies and won't fit into the smaller 2.0 torsos and certainly won't work on the newer Imp scale stuff. But even if it did, the neck piece already has a *ton* of hang over on the back of even the 1.0 bodies that it won't look good, even if modded to fit.

Sadly your best option for a good "goblin" sized figure to build an army of Bog Goblins would most likely be the RPG Dwarf, but you'd need to grab different arms for him, which essentially kills any discount you'd get from buying the cheap figure. It was my biggest complaint when they revealed him and the female mage, as their bare arms severely limit their pop'n swap options right out the box. Cloth limbs would've made them more generic options that could've been used for any number of creatures and races.

    >>11914473
Thanks for updating us with all this Wonderfest stuff, it's amazing how much stuff is supposed to be coming out, I don't think I've ever seen such a boom of fantasy figures before.

I actually just ordered one of them Ghost Axe goblins the other day, and while I was tempted to order a bunch I decided to wait as I heard there were going to be multiple types. I don't know if these are all different figures, or just the base figure with add-on kit parts, but I am loving the variety on display here. A goblin horde should be full of mis-matched weirdos with no standards for gear or weapons.

Incidentally, just got my Mety Toyz Goblin in hand today as well, on top of still needing to open my Legions Two pack goblins. These little bastards really do multiply if you ain't careful.

There are so many instagrams and twitters all uploading stuff and I believe there were something like 2500 indie designers there this year, really mad. I am just starting to find some of the more niche stuff being posted, I'll try and collate whatever might be worth sharing.

On the goblins, I believe these are all different combinations of the base goblin and the deluxe accessory pack teased here >>11909813 as they seem to have loaded all the heads and stuff onto that. I still prefer the way they were initially going to do it, but oh well.

    >>11914544
Maybe I should grab a few now while I can then. Personally, I prefer the idea of the figures coming with less stuff at a lower price while one big accessory set provides all the customization. It's better to do it that way then buy three of the same overloaded figures and have tons of spare parts sit in a bin forever.

    >>11914489
    >>11914492
It's gonna be tough deciding which one of these three to get, as I know I won't be able to get all three of em. But I'm currently leaning towards the one with the giant sword.

    >>11914497
I really hope they keep the price of these guys on the low end because I could easily see myself wanting a bunch of em. They have this look that's both very unique enough to be a stand alone hero yet also generic enough to work as background fodder in numbers.

    >>11914499
These guys are a new mold not yet used and I don't believe they've been shown off yet. But it's yet another figure that usurps the supposed Dwarves they were working on during the first KS.

    >>11914515
    >>11914575
I can just feel the aneurysm coming from the guy who owns the copyright to Red Sonia in knowing there's nothing he can do to stop these figures from coming out. I don't even play diablo but I'll probably grab both of em just because.

I imagine if someone like Nottaa, Inart, UPF etc. were making them they would be a big hit. I think MF Studio is a one man operation, he's just doing this out of his shed, he probably doesn't have a factory connection or the money to confidentially commit. We also haven't had a finished figure of his release yet and the price is high for the ones listed so far. Fingers crossed he comes good and maybe gets some attention.

    >>
    >>11914243
    >So who you looking forward to?

Uhm... Various impressions from the show:
Fury Toys valks. I'd like to buy the two newly announced ones, but I don't know, I may only pick the not-Sonja one because I like her measured design more than Freya's large weapons and accessories and crazy hair.
Fury Toys dwarves. Not my cup of tea because of the stylization, so it's an easy skip. I'll be doing fine with other brands' dwarves.
Fish Toys snake-themed ladies. Very interested in them. They are exotic and very stylish, and the two sorceress-priestess-type ones click with me the most. Hoping to get both of them or surely one.
Ghost Axe goblins. I've got one preordered and I'm interested in some possible variants, deluxes and/or the cart, but I need to figure how that would work, cause I don't want to end up with many more alt heads that I can use or whatever.
That other one brand goblins (I seem to remember it was Fish Toys? It's hard to remember when various brands place themselves next to each other). Very interested in buying a couple of them. They look fantastic.
Grey Knight regular knights with praise the Sun and friends. I like them, but they sit at a point where I'm not sure whether I'd want them as named characters or builders and how much I'd be willing to pay, and if I would need unhelmeted heads. Might buy a couple or ignore as a whole.
Mety Toys barbarian chick. She looks great herself, but I'm not a fan of the WoW-like partial heavy armor and spikes, so it's a skip for me.
Fangcun amazonian chicks. I've got the gladiator preordered. The samurai one seems gratuitous and doesn't interest me, but I love the barbarian one. Sure purchase.
    >>
    >>11915019
Maestro Union souls-like boss types. They have very detailed designs and I can see them being easy purchases for many, but they are also easy to skip if you don't love-need them, and I'm not feeling them like their previous large red demon. My favorite is the Catholic style lich and the more I look at it the more I like it. I wouldn't want it to be super tall, though.
Other souls-like figures and monster figures by various makers. Just like above, they look cool, but I feel that they are all easy to ignore if you want. I've already got Mythic Legions crab and some Savage Crucible fish-men on preorder.
Nottaa's Asian fantasy dudes (Ne Zha, Water Margin...). I'm not familiar with their stories, so as premium figures they don't speak to me as much as they could for purchase and I'd mostly be buying by design if I do.
Xingtian headless torso-face dude. Ok, I'm liking this one a lot. With so many monsters and demons, I think the gimmick is selling this one to me. I'm guessing that the diaphragm joint doubles as mouth articulation. It's also always cool to add gods to a god shelf.
Heroes of Might and Magic III. After the Archangel and the Archdevil, I'm interested in the Titan. I don't think I'd want to pay the price for the Ancient Behemoth, and I feel the regular-size Black Dragon doesn't work as well as the Titan.
    >>
    >>11914899

Oh him I definitely need. Wish they'd get their fish guys out already. Feels like those have been dragging ass longer than the lizards.
    >>
    >>11919547
that's a pretty cool looking goatman. how tall do these Savage Crucible figures tend to be?
    >>
    >>11922505
    >>11922758
Most importantly, this one by Keepgoing may be larger than the Figma. I haven't found an actual size description beyond """1/12""", but Keepgoing's anatomic muscle model is 17cm tall, which wouldn't be a bad height for these statues because the real life ones were above average human height.
Figma's is under 14cm tall iirc.
    >>
    >>11922756
Kek, they do. There's a deluxe versi9n that seems to be two figures. I dig the head with the exposed skull. I was thinking of getting a bootleg figma one and trying to customize that. No need now!
    >>11922891
5'9"-6'7" if Wikipedia is to be believed. Figure height should be fine, Keepgoing are all in that tall, Chinese 1:12 anyway.
    >>
    >>11919558
Sweet, he should go well with the army of dwarves I've slowly been building over the recent years. Hopefully the StarsSail Studio one doesn't turn into vaporware like I heard rumors of because the more dwarfs the better.
    >>
    >>11922891
    >Figma's is under 14cm tall iirc.
I bought mine not knowing this and was completely buttblasted about it.

Arkhan the Cruel taking less then a year to go from Pre-Order to In-Hand is honestly kind of crazy and something I hope they keep up with on future waves.

Sad that the Zombies aren't already shipping, but hopefully they show up in time for Halloween displays.

And Big Bey is still on track fro EoY/early next, so it's gonna be crazy come the holidays.

Kek, it was their Birth of Venus that got me. Obviously the signs were there all along, but when I got her in-hand I wasn't very pleased.

Lesson learned... In comparison I have knockoffs of the table museum cherubs, and those are surprisingly fun and a nice size. I also really like the D13 Toys statues of Lucifer and St. Michael.

Would seem that Medusa is the Halloween figura obscura this year
    >>
    >>11924469
Assuming she has a tail. If it's as short as their other snakes it's an easy pass.
I mean, they haven't released any yet, but they look way too short in the pics. They really need to sell tail extensions.
    >>
    >>11924503
Considering the Beast wave will be shipping out soon and we've already seen them use the Gnole build *last year*, I wouldn't be surprised to see a tail lower torso option. I'm already mostly sold on this figure if it is Medusa, I'm a sucker for Gorgons and Lamia, so I'm excited to see what drops tomorrow.
    >>
    >>11924469
Medusa's up and honestly...she feels kind of lazy. Outside of the the dio pieces there's really no new parts as only the head of the figure is new. She even has that same boring ass bog standard bow they always use that wouldn't work as a real weapon. This was the perfect chance to make a new mold bow and they completely missed the opportunity.

Hopefully the head of the broken statue can come off, I have a custom that would look great on. But unless you *really* want a sexy snake chick, she's honestly an easy pass.

.............sadly I dig snake chicks so I ended up grabbing her. But I'll be giving her a way better bow once she's in hand.

I'll probably have mine hanging out with Arkhan and his group of misfits. I don't normally have my FOs hang out with my actual "faction" figures, but she's boring enough for me to treat as just another character in the collection.
    >>
Figura Obscura Medusa looks awesome. Instant buy.
    >>
I would buy her at your domestic price, but $37 shipping is too much, £75 ML is too far for me, that's Sexy Ice/Inart prices.
    >>
    >>11925231
I could buy her and ship her for like 12. Good thing about ebay is it's cheap international. Problem is I'm not sure what tariffs you'll pay.

Yeah, stock body, stock clothes and accessories, unimpressive tail with that dumb looking 90º bend option... the face is ok, I guess, though the one highlight is the hair snakes.
    >>
    >>11925271
they should have made her in marble color plastic or something, she just looks like part of the main line, first figura obscura that feels like a total miss to me

Completely unrelated, but man, I'm coming to the realisation that, if youtubers are any kind of metric, there are an awful lot of really moronic toy collectors. The amount of just flat out stupid, thoughtless shit I see them doing on reviews is insane. Ham fisted breaking of parts, completely missing entire points of articulation, having zero clue about any of the IPs/backgrounds of nearly any figure they review, inarticulate despite being edited videos etc. It's mad. Got to be really mindful of it when reading discussions about figures, you could be conversing with absolute dumbasses. I'm ranting here, because I've browsed these threads long enough now to know that it isn't the case amongst the people here, fantasy bros are men of discerning taste.

Anyway, on topic, I saw this shared last night, apparently by Grey Knight studio, which is curious. Despite them categorically saying they are no longer making WoW figures, this looks an awful lot like a WoW orc to me. My Maiev dream faintly glimmers once again. Or maybe they are going to be some extremely similar OC orc race to face their knights?

I was watching like 4 reviewers of a Fury toy I had to see if anyone had a problem I had and none of them pointed out that the ankles or feet were articulated. Once I figured that out myself well my problem disappeared because I thought the foot mold was faulty or something. I also wish these toys had basic instructions because some of these accessories are like huh wtf is this thing meant to be/do?
    >>
    >>>11925425
I give most reviewers the benefit of the doubt

They're not children, so they're not going to be applying a ton of pressure or force on their toys. They usually own a lot of toys, so they know how to handle them. So if something breaks, it's because it's more fragile than normal.

Personally, i treat most of my toys like glass. So even when i unbox stuff, i use an Xacto knife to puncture the bubbles holding in the figures to relieve pressure around the limbs being held in place before taking the figure out. I also clip any twist ties off, so the cut twist tie immediately releases any pressure too.
After taking the figure out, i depending on the line, i may or may not give it a hot water bath followed by a freezer treatment, to expand and contract the joints so that they're not stuck. I then move all the joints with my fingers firmly gripping the immediate joints, so there's no extreme or even intermediate torque when moving the joints.
Once i get a feel for the joints and plastics, i usually ease up. I haven't broken a toy in over 15 years now, aside from shittier lines known for horrible plastics and all of these broke while i was treating them like glass.

I'm anal, and reviewers let me know know if a line needs to be handled like glass beyond the unboxing and initial movement of joints.

For me it's the muffled audio and lawnmowers going outside. Bro I'm not watching 15m of that.
But still, sometimes they're the only person on the net who has bothered to show off the figure, so I thank them for that.
    >>
    >>11925441
    >>11925428
Yeah I also treat my figures with too much care really.

I'm just being a prick really, but I had a straw-breaking-camel's-back moment watching that Arker guy's review of the Classified Lara. There is a bit where he is like "now I'm going to take off the holster and belt", which are blatantly, obviously, glaringly connected with black plastic straps, however, totally ignoring this, he goes to pull off the leg by fucking twisting it and straight up snaps the strap. He then proceeds to be surprised and suggests "using heat", edit cut to her without the belt/holsters and of course he has now snapped all of them. So he fucked up like an ogre, realised his error and then continued on to do it three more times. It's so stupid to even give a shit about it, but fuck man something just triggered me.

    >>11925449
You're right and I am ultimately glad this shit exists, let their errors serve to warn me of dangers.

Oh also Varkul went up for pre-order on Savage Crucible yesterday for anyone who wasn't aware and wanted one.

    >>11925473
I kinda did that with Cassia from xesray. I was thinking her tabs on the pauldrons were like her side tabs for the armor and was taking it off without realizing I was ripping the rubber apart from where it was glue welded. I was expecting it to be like most toys and that part would come off and then you'd place the cloak there and then put the pauldrons back on.

    >>11925394
If they keep the trend going they will be making a retail only version of her that will likely be more detailed in 2027.

    >>11925425
It's the low bar of entry, it's why I do my best to look over written reviews with photos. Writing out your thoughts shows you have a better mental clarity and you'll make better observations due to the far more focused effort of writing. Making videos takes effort don't get me wrong, but it's far to easy to just stream your actions and just upload them without much thought which is sadly the vast majority of toy enthusiast online which makes them worthless.

Just got Medusa in hand and the snake body is kind of hit and miss. The entire back half that lays on the ground is wired rubber, but it's so thick that it's barely able to curl. Getting her to coil is something that absolutely won't happen, but I don't think anyone will be surprised by this. On the other end, the segments that make up the rest of her tail could easily be extended by adding more parts. Not only that, the "straight" swap in piece can actually just straight up connect to the bent part of her tail and just make it longer by a decent amount. You could probably grab a couple of those pieces alone, chain em together and really make the tail extend. But even with tons of those parts, a tight curl is pretty impossible.

I still wish she had a different belt though, the fur could've worked well, but an entirely new one that blended torso to tail would've been FAR cooler. The dio pieces are nice and all, and the stone figure has a full on face with removable helmet that's keyed to fit on the Legendary Barbarian and all the other upcoming heads with similar attachment, but otherwise Medusa kind of feels pretty lackluster and a new belt and bow would've have gone a long way to fix those issues.

....still glad I got her though, that makes three green snake chicks I'm getting from the 4H at this point.

Meant to ask yesterday. What are the best skeletons to get? Epic hacks has some on bbts for preorder. Was going to try to make a ray harryhausen diaroma with my Medusa coming in.
    >>
    >>11928889
I'd say the Keepgoing Studio, other than not having gripping hands. Skeletons you can actually armybuild it's either gonna be Mythic Legions or the Boss Fight Studios vanilla skeleton that you saw. Keep in mind, the BFS are gonna be a bit small compared to the Mythic Legions figures.

    >>
So is this the correct way for the shield with the Medusa?
    >>
Also guess these are just left over from mold reuse?
    >>
I'd say not bad. I doubt I'll have her use her bow in my diaroma but just be spooky or just a decapitated head.
    >>
    >>11929962
The idea would be to evoke some bracers going around the forearm, like this pic.

    >>11929967
Sort of. Those ports are universal in the line and they allow you to give your Medusa shoulderpads and/or wings.
