>>586257235I'm no writer, but I think you could easily start another scenario around Surge's current status quo of trying to help people and Blaze happens to be in whatever area or town Surge is trying to help and play off her recklessness and incompetence vs Blaze's attentiveness and control (forced control of herself from upbringing). Surge tries to do things her way, Blaze oversteps boundaries constantly trying to correct her. Blaze wants Surge to show some restraint and gets immensely irritated. Surge wants Blaze to loosen up and stop having a stick in her ass. We already have this in 78, but with Amy's intervention, it cools down.Without Amy, it would play out a bit similar to how Blaze snaps at Marine in SRA except Surge isn't a child and has the means to shove those words back even if it's at the cost of civvies she doesn't care about. Blaze's saying all the wrong things compared to how Amy would handle her should be the focal point and indirectly be the cause of some bigger destruction both have to fix (rather than how Blaze saved Marine after endangering herself due to Blaze's harsh words to prove herself). Forced cooperation where they're still trying to prove each other that their way is best but then realizing the merits of each other. They successfully fix the problem through their combine powers, Blaze learns to tolerate Surge's way of doing things, Surge learns to be less insecure, they still take shitty cheap shots at each other, The End. Something like that.The main dynamic here is restraint vs indulgence. If something's a nuisance, Blaze tells it to fuck off. If something tries to stop Surge from getting her glory, she tells it to fuck off. Without Amy to temper them like in 78, their interactions would escalate very fast. A professional writer might be able to come up with something with more stakes involved using these two.
