You're behind on the rumours my man, the maps are staying.
Speaking of, back me up confirmed today no models are getting squatted.
Also, the wizard cogfort apparently has a named and generic build. The other EoE characters seem to be all named.
(Which by the way why introduce a bunch of characters right before a 1000 year timeskip lol)
>>

It would track that Warcry introduces a random unit that doesn't mesh with the army ngl but it'll be Spearhead nowadays given Warcry is dead

We need a new ice army now that BCR are being ignored. Will probably be squatted so they can go to TOW with the other old models.
Also BCR were never really proper ice models anyway.
>>

>Which by the way why introduce a bunch of characters right before a 1000 year timeskip lol
because the vast majority of characters belong to a race of practical immortals or have access to an elixir of immortality or a one-off deus ex machina to ride the timeskip unscathed

So paint them white? BCR never had an ice theme outside of Yhetees, Hunters, and Sabres. We got new Hunters, Sabres, and the Mournfang replacement are explicitly Hunters rather than Ironguts on a mount

if I had to guess, the lgs owner doesn't like doomsaying because uncertainty about the stability of model ranges and rules might hurt his sales, especially ahead of winter shopping.
while the few loud retards who cry and moan about this being the end are mentally ill faggots who have made 'defending' aos part of their identity, any discussion about aos getting changed an accusation of, thus personal, flaws, and by extention also lumped all the people who enact these changes or are even vaguely in support of them together with all other people who they deem opposite to their identity.
and these latter faggots inevitably drag any forum into a whirlpool of drama by virtue of being terminally online and compulsively replying to anything and everything.
>>
>>98894645
At least use AoS as an actual reference instead of WFB where they were something completely different.
>>
>>98894668
Also you might note that they're no longer called Frost sabres.
>>
>>98894668
>completely different.
you either have issues with your eyes or with your brains
>>
>>98894633
On TGA they've banned discussion of it in the AoS rumour thread too. You have to use the dedicated TLW rumour thread even though they'll combine them after the eventual reveal of authenticity, because it's just 5th edition just as 4th edition wasn't called Skaventide
>>
>>98894671
Yeah and it's Ogors not Ogres which are completely different too.
>>
>>98894673
The BCR everwinter frost theme was bolted onto the ogre range. Lorewise they're completely different things. We're just arguing past each other and it's tiresome.
>>98894679
I merely refuse to use slave names.
>>
>>98894682
>The BCR everwinter frost theme was bolted onto the ogre range
It just so happens that the ogre range already had ice-age themed monsters, and ice-powered creatures, and artworks depicting their snowy environments well before aos.
Complete accident, totally bolted on top at random, unlike Malaysia and fyreslayers.
>>
>>98894608
>merge the realms
Yes, see picrel
>kill sigmar
Sort of, it's apparently an unreliable narrator kind of thing. Siggy and archy have a big fight, unknown outcome. Sigmar believers say he ascended to proper god god status, chaos believers say he got btfo by archaon. probably all setup for a sigmar model in 6th
>make humans grimdark
Bit up in the air atm. Seems like there will be different cultures, some of which are more chill with other races, some seem to go the 40k muh xenos route.
>>
>>98894693
Yeah, they had hunters, sabretusks, yhetis, and thundertusks
Now they only have hunters, raiders, tyrants, sabrefangs, and thundertusks

I do think the stonehorn will eventually go, but they'll probably do another big monster in its place

>>
>>98894714
Whatever is going to happen it's not going to be now, nor the next battletome.
>>
>>98894714
I think that's 100% guaranteed. 1 kit with six builds is pure Fantasy holdover that GW has been getting rid of very consistently

In other words not a single ice themed mini will be left.
I rest my case.
>>

>>
>>98894726

it was made with only 2 builds in mind, the other 4 were just early aos getting inconsistently creative in its attempt to sell battletomes for a handful of kits.

You guys know stonehorns were never ice themed in WFB, right? When the mounted units were released in 8e the new units were all painted desert themed

That's three, which is half of six.
>>
>>98894732
The new hunters are very clearly ice themed. By extension so is the hunter cav, and let's not forget the bcr-themed build option for the tyrant.

Mournfang were the same. Only the thunder tusk was painted in winter themes. The hunters, frost savers, yhetees and mammoth are all outcasts that live at the edges of society and aren't representative of most of the future beastclaw range.
>>
>>98894582
BCR are still winter themed army and their new units have winter themed rules (ex. Hunters with through the frosts). If you want more frost units, bet on BCR. There is no other chance

Here's a wide shot, mournfang and stonehorns were never ice themed.
>>
Seems pretty clear to me that they're aiming for multiple subcultures in ogres going forward anyway.
Aside from the basic gutbuster side there's the religious cult mawseeker guys, the living off the land ranger beastclaw guys, and the more cosmopolitan and gunpowder loving maneaters.
>>
>>98894766
But that's a thundertusk. Was he ever not shooting ice?
>>
>>98894750
>desert themed
No, it wasn't a desert theme, it was the stock standard basing scheme of brown dirt with some green flock that all armies used at the time.
>>
>>98894776
It was a steppe theme because that's the army. Turns out mongolia also has big ass snowy mountains though, which is where yhetees come from.
>>

>>
>guys, the chaos war mammoth was never snowy themed, look, it's actually themed around the white void outside of reality, it has nothing to do with the cold north actually

Clearly they're downplaying the frost theme so they can fit in with the normal ogres. If they updated the thundertusk it would be similarly neutral.
Anyway I don't even care about this argument, I just want ice armies. Guess Kislev's my best bet.

>>98894776
The paintjobs themselves are also w conscious decision. Yhetees and the TT are painted snow white. The rest of the army is not.

>>98894788
Hey, why don't you try thinking about this for two seconds: it's not just the basing, it's the entire rest of the book that goes at length to describe how only a few members of the army are frost themed and therefore exceptions , and the rest of the army including the SH and MF and Rhinox are all NOT described as such.
>>
>>98894573
Not going to believe this yet, but it's not a bad design, just gotta change the proportions a bit.
>>
>>98894817
>The paintjobs themselves are also w conscious decision.
No, they aren't, sabertooths and rhinoxes never needed to be painted white to be distinctly ice-age beasts.
Mournfangs don't suddenly stop being oversized mounted sabertooth creatures just because they're not painted white.

A third snowy unit has been found!
>>
>>98894817
If so then painting the alt tyrant in white and blue was also a telling move
>>
>>98894817
>the entire rest of the book
You mean the one with plenty of artworks that put everyone else in snowy environments too? Which is an army that since its inception has had the ice age as overt inspiration for its creatures and even culture, as ogres are shown making cavemen arts?
>>
>>98894827
I realize sometimes you can't read everything as you scroll down in an image board so I will reiterate that it is not just one thing, it is the rules, the fluff, AND the paintjobs all which specify which creatures are and are not frost themed. Some units were mentioned specifically as being outcasts that live in the upper, cold reaches of the mountain and when that is the case the book mentions it repeatedly.

Stonehorns and mournfang were not included in that subset. They were only later given a frost theme.
>>
>>98894801
Norsca are entirely ice themed hence the fur cloaks and fluff about being Norwegian vikings
>>
>>98894837
I did not say they melt on contact with snow, tyrants are specifically described as carrying rhinoxes up the mountain (where they do not live) and back down (where they do live) as part of their weight training in adolescence.

I SAID that they were not always frost themed, they are part of the army that lives on the non-frozen steppes with the rest of the army.

>>
>>98894838
>the rules, the fluff, AND the paintjobs all which specify which creatures are and are not frost themed
no, they don't, they're all ice-age monsters, they're all ice themed.
they don't stop being ice age monsters just because they're not painted white, they don't stop being ice age monsters just because they don't have magic ice in some special rule, they don't stop being ice age monsters if their bestiary page doesn't include the word ice, frost, or snow somewhere.
being an ice age monster is sufficient to make them ice themed, and that's what they are.

>>
>>98894906
>one product per warscroll approach
most of that could have been easily circumvented by expanding the types of generic heroes the army has or turning some of the generic options into special characters
but judging by how many khorne and slayer characters have been removed even when they had their own exclusive warscroll, this has nothing to do with some policy about simple correlation between model and rules and everything to do with sales projections regarding the model range and the desire to have only a certain number of character models to which sales are funneled to, instead of spreading those sales across a larger selection or products.
>>
>>98894912
>>98894916
Because they were snow themed.
You don't need to be elementally blessed by winter gods to be snow themed.
>>
>>98894921
But they weren't. They lived in the steppes and sometimes got creatures from the not!himalayas.
>>
>>98894921
I am the one who is doing the long form references to their origins but I am not the only anon who is making this point.

The Stonehorn and Mournfang ARE paleolithic creatures. They are NOT frost monsters in the sense that they are not supernatural creatures who have frost monsters.

The overall point that I am making is that the large monster units of the ogor army were not always, and do not always, need to be linked to cold weather, the Everwinter, or ice magic. They were for the majority of AoS, yes, but they existed WITHOUT that for some time before and can do so again
>>
>>98894933
>supernatural creatures who have frost powers

Typo
>>
>>98894928
>But they weren't.
Yes, they were, because they're ice-age ogres with ice-age monsters living in the ice-age mountains.

Steppes my fucking ass, those were obliterated by the great maw, that's why they invaded the mountains.
>>
>>98894921
Yetis are actually blessed Ogres in WHF, but Ogres just happen to come from mountains - passing through them to the lands of WHF armies. They come from around Cathay, a fertile Mongol steppe.
They definitely have an ice age theme but it's only the Hunter who's an exceptionally grounded figure, so nu-Ogres are more ice themed given BCR is all winter coded now tbhon
>>
>>98894933
>They are NOT frost monsters in the sense that they are not supernatural creatures who have frost monsters.
They don't need to have supernatural frost powers to be ice age monsters, and that's enough to make them intrinsically linked to a cold theme.

I don't keep up with tow rumours.
>>
>>98895125
there's little to no rumor about them other than they're coming, but most probably only later next year
everyone assumes they're just going to be the total war version
I assume that the vast majority of the people asking for a more historically inspired kislev are either going to be complete sheep and completely change their minds about the total war designs the moment they see them painted in more muted tones without ice bits, or were going to be inimically opposed to whatever gw would have cooked up anyway regardless of how accurate to old or historical designs they are

in any case the sooner they come out the sooner we can leave them behind and focus on the factions that really matter
>>
I know this isn't the right thread but like, GW "coming back" to WHFB but then instead of it being basically 6th ed again, making Cathay such a prominent part of it, and probably next Kislev too.

It baffles me when they could have just done not-Cathay and not-Kislev in AoS instead and left tOW as a time capsule.
>>
>>98895125
>What's the current status for that anyway?
Everyone assumes GW had planned to launch Kislev within the first couple of years, but that obviously hasn't happened. And the reason for that is presumed to be because of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.

The updated core rulebook published earlier this year notably changed some terminology to deemphasize the inspiration from Tsarist Russia. So if we're reading the tealeaves then if and when Kislev eventually makes its proper debut in TOW, it will have been slightly retooled from how it was originally intended to be.
>>
>>98895175
total war made a lot of money

Noob from last thread here that thinks about getting into AoS with the Slaves to Darkness box. I am (very roughly) planning on how to fill out to 2000pts with Abraxia as the general. After some recommendations I have this:

Slaves to Darkness - Slaves to Darkness 2000pts - [1830 pts]

Abraxia, Spear of the Everchosen [230 pts]

Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount [130 pts]

Darkoath Fellriders [130 pts]:
• 5x Darkoath Fellrider
Varanguard [580 pts]

Chaos Sorcerer Lord [120 pts]

Chaos Warriors (Scourge of Aqshy) [400 pts]:
• 20x Chaos Warrior

Chaos Knights [240 pts]:
• 5x Chaos Knights

That leaves me with 170 points, no enhancements yet, or whatever they are called. What should I fill out the list with or change? Not looking for something super competetive
>>
>>98895175
Time capsules don't make a whole lot of money at the end of the day. I don't know where this came from originally, but there's an adage floating around that claims gw makes 80% of their money on a kit from its initial release window.
Also kislev and cathay are way too on the nose "country x but a fantasy" for aos. Maybe with tlw that'll be different, but as it stands aos by and large doesn't really do that. Maybe seraphon and they get away with it because they're lizards.
>>
>>98895178
>war in ukraine
really? do people actually care about russian-inspired figs that were established in the setting decades ago? I refuse to believe GW believes this is the case.
>>
>>98895194
They consulted a "Chinese Sensitivity Team" for Cathay lol, it's just as likely with Kislev that they have someone thinking about these things now.

Meanwhile nobody complains when the leader of the French faction is called "le Wanker"
>>
>>98895175
>It baffles me when they could have just done not-Cathay and not-Kislev in AoS instead and left tOW as a time capsule.
They went back and forth. At the initial announcement of TOW, they said Cathay and Kislev would be launch factions. Then they did market research and pulled WAY back, removed all mention of Cathay and Kislev and announced only like 6 core factions for TOW. Then TOW ended up being way more popular than they thought so they've added Cathay, and Kislev will probably come down the line.

The truth might be something completely different, but GW hasn't given a lot of information to go on. People reach for any explanation that at least sounds plausible to them.

UK government is trying to gaslight their citizens into thinking the ruskies are gonna attack any day now so I’d say the anti rus brainrot is strong enough over there to delay and alter Kislev
>>
>>98895175
GW can accommodate it nowadays and IP is increasingly important to them. WHF is their second highest performing IP whereas AoS has only generated flops, so there's a need to cement it.
GW probably want to squash competition too.

I'm tempted to CONSOOM the new StD battleforce but I know it's gonna be some ridiculous price like last year or worse.

I think weve explored this enough to the point we're talking past each other. Some of us are saying most ogre stuff, specifically Stonehorn, can exist without being ice elemental aligned. Hi, same anon from last thread here.
You actually have a little less than that many points, believe it or not - check out the Banners and Brands of chaos. Some of them cost a couple of points (10 IIRC, some are free).

Double check that, there's a bunch of good options, but common is Banner of Apoplexy on something.

Anyway, some options would be a foot hero with Dark Radiance enhancement, a monster that you like the look of like Sphiranx, Fomorid, another fast unit, or the Darkoath Wilderfiend.

The wilderfiend is REALLY REALLY good for it's points cost, with a strong offensive profile and some mortal wounds to trigger Blazing Onslaught. It's a Beast (keyword) so it can't contest objectives well, but it's a beast (offensively) so it doesn't matter. I personally think it's great looking mini and a lot of people agree, but some don't.
>>
>>98895419
The reason the guy said it was because, "Oh the sacrosanct chamber got squatted. These guys are from the same release; ergo, they are also in danger!"

Which is retarded, the only reason that chamber was done away with. Is because the inherent design for storm cast had changed drastically. I swear, people throw out squatted without using their brains.
>>
>>98895448
>the inherent design for storm cast had changed drastically.
and because their range would be too bloated and redundant if stormcasts kept all the shit they get
it nighthaunts get something done to them is less of a sacrosanct situation and more of a fyreslayer situation

but for now nighthaunts sell enough and death isn't too bloated yet, but these things might change in an edition or two

So like, what are we thinking about this Last World?

If it's true, well the "Old World" got background stuff like Cathay dragged in, and the usual nuGW "big plastic kits", to make it new and exciting and arguably quite different from the End Times of WHFB.

So... they're going to make AoS a world but also add not-Cathay and not-Nippon?

The latter would all make much more sense if they weren't colouring our memories of WHFB with a similar type of new stuff and seems really odd.

Are they moving to like a more From Software kind of vibe do you think?

>>
>>98895709

Anythings better than the retarded realms they have now
>>
>>98895709
It's true, but the background stuff they're adding in the rulebook to pretend this world has more than just empty width will stay background stuff like all the other background stuff that aos got over the years that remained background stuff only.
Unless aos is successful enough that gw starts dredging these factions up like they've dredged up cathay for tow.

For now the end result of the last world will be practically nothing other than a façade of freshness and redemption in the eyes of people who had never actually read anything about aos.

Because my thinking is like, this is convergent evolution

>OG WHFB, covering everything from Lustria and the End Times to Shadows Over Bögenhafen and Mordheim

>got blown up for AoS, which even the most ardent hater (me) would say fair enough it's mostly its own thing now after birthing pains

To now, maybe:

>Warhammer The Old World wears the flesh of the OG but has outside input from the success of Total War and a philosophy change from GW, to me rendering it quite unrecognisable, the way people talk about it is quite different to OG

>AoS the Last World reverts AoS to a more grounded setting

It almost begs the question of like, why not just have one world again with a "skirmish" round-base game and a rank-and-file game?

Like it's interesting now seeing Darkoath in AoS and new Marauders in TOW and it's like GW is competing with itself. Never mind these "Kingdoms of Lorenna" and a reborn Bretonnia.
>>
>>98895790
Nah that still goes to panc and 2+ tough.
>>
>>98895795
>I just think the lores fucking stupid, because it is
maybe you're dumb.
>>
>>98895823
It is absolutely competing with itself right now, but this is also groundwork to not compete with itself anymore in the future, but rather enrich both settings.

For example one day these extra not!kislev and not!bretonnia background elements may be used as excuse to suggest to hobbyists to use fantasy models of bretonnia and kislev in aos, and maybe get pseudo-official rules for cross-compatibility like tow has legacy rules for armies that are now only in aos.
On the other hand TOW is unlikely to ever touch nippon and kuresh, but now it's perfectly possible that those regions might get explored via proxy by having aos do a range for these new snake-worshippers and samurai factions.

This is all well and good for factions like ogres or skaven and lizardmen, but then the question is what happens to idoneth, stormcast, nighthaunt, kislev, cathay, etc.
Honestly I think the overlap between aos and tow players isn't THAT big. And if tow players buy aos sculpts or vice versa from time to time, it's not that big of an issue really.
The only thing that's really retarded is making these huge centrepiece units like the chaos dragon with separate models for each system. That's just a waste.

How they are on their third redesign, and they keep changing parts of the armor that were completely fine, but they leave the handsome squidward helmets

Maybe I just don't get it because I am a chaosfag
>>
>>98896167
That pic is in all likelihood fake. Every other time some rando started posted pics boole usually jumps out of the woodwork to confirm them (giving away that they're probably his alts lol)
That being said the helmet is the least bad aspect of this """leak"""
I'm sorry but I've yet to see a stormcast conversion with a normal knightly helmet that didn't look like complete ass.
>>
>>98896167
>Maybe I just don't get it because I am a chaosfag
50% this, 50% brand identity.

stormcasts are, ideally, a mirror to chaos warriors, and chaos warriors derive part of their atmosphere from their dehumanising helmets, so by contrast stormcasts cannot dehumanise their warriors, but since they need to have full helmets to be beginner friendly in terms of paintjobs the solution is to give them helmets with sculpted faces.
technically it's still dehumanising in a way, because the human aspect is a mask worn by things that become more and more inhuman as they die, and technically you could have conventional helmets that wouldn't dehumanise them that much to really matter, and technically still there are other ways by which stormcasts can be visual opposites of chaos warriors without having to rely on a difference in the helmet, but then we reach the other part of the discussion: designers are asked, more and more, to make concepts that are recognisably identifiable and branded, more than they are asked to make good designs, chaos warriors are an incredibly popular design, but one that very quickly slipped out of the bounds of warhammer to the point that it's now a generic aesthetic archetype, not really a proprietary type of character, and GW absolutely doesn't want the same to happen to stormcasts, so they'll make their designs more limited and perhaps worse if it means that this look is identifiable as a warhammer thing, and deviations from this aren't identifiable as stormcasts.

If I want to play a tabletop game then there's a fair amount of much smaller but growing games that are ironically more stable than a billion dollar company and funny enough they do narrative much much better.

>>98894650

People and GW just want different things out of these boxes.

People wish they were a good value for the core models of the factions so they can buy multiples and get an army done.
GW wants people to save as little as possible so they make them unappealing for multiple purchases, and also try to make them vaguely themed in the still naive idea they can push spearhead as a more popular game mode.

We'll not get the good value, and unit selection, of the old start collecting boxes because those only existed when gw was panicking and desperately trying to avoid bankruptcy.

I miss when GW was hungry. Covid making everyone stay indoors led to GW conflating the success of all hobbies with their own personal success. People say GW has been anti consumer since the 90s, or since the Chapter House suit, but I remember getting started with stuff like Carnosaurs with full build options or an entire SC! (stupidly) costing less than a magmadroth. People were actually getting into AoS.

Now they're combining losing covid boosts and tww losing popularity with increased prices and worse deals. GW might be too big to fail, but they're not too big to fuck up and have a bad quarter, and I wish they'd be more cognizant about what they are and aren't.

To be fair we didn't have anything like that for the longest time, can't blame people for not knowing
>>
why are the 5e rumors so shit?
>>
>>98899628
Nta, but I'd say the current staples for modern GW female models are things like minimizing sexual dimorphism and producing extremely androgynous, or outright masculine, faces and bodies. Often times this extends as far as making entire bodies interchangeable between the sexes (see the Helsmiths or Cathay for examples of this). When breasts are present, they're often minimized and/or heavily concealed. The new commemorative warqueen is an easy example of everything I'm talking about here.

Keep in mind, this isn't 100% concrete. The 'eavy Metal style cannot handle female faces so they are often worse than they might otherwise be. There are also plenty of more modern exceptions to the rules. The new TOW damsel model avoids most of the modern GW female design failings, as does pretty much the entirety of the DoK range (blood hags being the obvious deviation).
>>
>>98899731
Yeah GW females are generally hideous but clearly sculpted different from men in ways that aren't always immediately obvious, but once you notice you notice.
>>
>>98898141
Over 7 million copies across the series from low effort search results, with DLC not included. SM2 achieved a similar figure in a year and that was over a third of GWs net profit that year, so everything would suggest they will pivot towards exploiting their IP associations (which I suspect is why we have TLW and miniatures tie ins to the upcoming 40k RTS).

That's what kind of bugs me about the unisex bodies that seem to be popping up alot more now. They ultimately feel extension cheap and more than a little exploitative.
They male or female head options on unisex bodies are just there to creat the illusion of difference and of having options. What they actually are is a way for GW to cut corners and save money on the production costs on something they insist on treating like a premium product.

Fuck you, James. If you want me to spend $70+ on a 5-10 (potentially mixed sex) unit, you better damn well be making sure there are clearly identifiable differences between my male and female options.

>£525.7 million total revenue
>£52.5 million licensing
So just 10%, but it did represent a record breaking peak. GW growth persists despite licensing fall off obviously but the year after SM2 their stock fell like 9% and there was a lot of financial doomerism about a growth cliff (because boomers are fucking stupid).
GW will definitely try to secure good contracts for IP farming to offset things but their main focus is the core line. I think AoS was obviously tooled for IP growth because it's untapped but that's less because the growth justified undermining the IP as is and more no one gives a shit about AoS internally so why not rebrand it anyway?
Schizo theory: campaign books are a great look into GW internals because they reflect internal play. AoS has a history of scrapped books, broken books, etc that hints at zero internal play testing.
Jervis wrote WD campaigns for AoS, like Hallost, but after he left it's entirely WD staff.
4th edition already rebooted the core rules, no one who made AoS works on it so there's no attachment to the IP as is - an IP that doesn't sell licensing.

yes, it doesn't matter how close the release dates were, it only matters that the designing sessions were separate, that's enough to create elements in one release that you won't find in the other, and that's enough to suggest a separation, because otherwise gw shares the design cues across the models that are the result of a particular project.

Wrathmongers and skullreapers don't have the design cues of the bloodbound range, they were done separately at a different time.

here's a better shot of the bouyancy chambers on the wings and the engine and propeller works on the undercarriage. you can see where the KO ship ideas came from.

they also had the dwarven face relief emblems on the front, which later became stretched into the whole front visages on the KO ships

Wonder if it would look better if the rotors were modelled in motion, y'know just a good old circle on top.
>>
>>98900961
it wouldn't
>>
>>98900528
Yes but no. It’s the one of the many things I didn’t like about fantasy, you could justify a spur of the moment cultists movement but never an empire beyond or the wastes.

Araby, ind, and kuresh are lands ripe for a slaaneshi tainted city state or two.

me neither

it's a podcast set up, drawing comparison to the kind of people who would host one with Ogres and Gnoblars because they're typically fat, ugly, evil, etc

kinosmiths...
>>

yes, kino casino
the guy on the left is jeremy hambly aka the quartering. the podcaster goblin is andy warski, possible aids-having condom remover who used to cohost with jf gariepy (a guy who killed his retarded wife) and the ogre is ppp, a fatass who ran a christian 'free radio' that did very badly so he pivoted to running a podcast on shitflinging at lolcows

They’d be hot spots of it for sure if anything

Unless you're a compfag, just do whatever you want. There's a relatively decent chance that 5ed AoS will continue down the same comp-focused rabbit hole that's currently gutting 40k, so take that into consideration.

gotta say, I love the model, but the statue looks really bad when it tries to fly normally by flapping and gliding.
it needed some kind of weird magical effect.
