>>110188944
For new hardware, the first line of RMA is the store not the manufacturer. If the store goes under or ghosts you then you go to the manufacturer. One can reject you but not both if they do then it's because your warranty is actually invalid.

it really depends where you are. Some countries have consumer laws so if you buy from an actual store they have to give you some warranty. Of course some try to tell you to fuck off and go to the manufacturer but those then will redirect you to the store again depending on when you bought it.

RDNA5 should unironically still use GDDR6 at 16GB and 24GB variants. it would keep it accessible for gamers. or they could have tiers for same die with GDDR6 and 7. for gaming you don't need 7. and 1440p 16GB is more than enough. some are going over on 4K, which is where 24GB could be justified.
but for most gaming, people won't significantly move from 1440p to 4K to justify 24GB as minimum of higher tier cards. let alone GDDR7 requirment. it just doesn't do much for gaming.
AMD seriously needs to properly segment gaming vs AI market for end user GPUs.
>>
>>110190730
>but it doesn’t matter anymore somehow
Sure it does, we tell people to get the latest stable BIOS if they plan to use 13/14th gen -K CPUs (+ some other stuff).
>>
>>110190564
HBM takes a lot of wafer space, since there's more dies stacked, which means way higher cost, for...what? for gaming it's irrelevant.
for AI you have enterprise HBM3e solutions, from AMD.
>>
I think people still want a 100gb hbm vram gpus so they could have the entire game in vram.
>>
>>110190786

You don't have to worry too much if you buy a good cable.
Ensure both ends of the power cable are fully seated with enough slack to prevent tension on the connections.
The tension will cause the connection to loosen over time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-7LZvVSL5U
>>
>>110190806
The cable in >>110190776 is what came with the Lian Li Edge Gold 1000W PSU. It looked much better (and only one connection on each end, the msi 5070ti's cable was some flimsy shit that split into 3 seperate connections at the psu end)
>>
>>110190806
I never understood this problem. Can't you simply monitor 12V in at idle vs under load, and figure out the power drop across the cable+connector, thus noticing any potential issues?
why is there no software that does this automatically, and warn you if any issue? seems banal to solve. just look at hwinfo 12v gpu rail

>>110190827 (Me)
I don't have paid llms, some of you should ask yours to code it, put it on github and we'll try it. keep it open. just copy paste my reply to your favorite llm, it will know what to do.
notice total power draw of the gpu under full load, notice 12v rail voltage, figure out max current at 12v using the max gpu power figure, calculate 12v delta for idle/max load voltage difference, apply previously derived 12v current at full load and come up with a power figure in watts that's lost in cable + connector. gpus sense 12v input at connector, right after it on pcb.
simple as.
>>
>>110190852 (still me)
and you only need two data sensors, 12v input on gpu and max gpu power. hwinfo has some connectors for the data source if you wanna keep it simple and dependent on hwinfo, which makes the app pretty simple.
hell you can even make a new hwinfo sensor with this math, have it in there along with the rest of them.
>>
Planning on buying a zen 6 cpu when they come out, and since I’m moving from ddr4 I am looking for a new motherboard. Are there any recommendations in particular? Unsure on where to begin with motherboard info
>>
>>110190911
make sure it exposes all pcie lanes. don't fall for any memes. carefully inspect all user manuals so you make sure how many lanes are available on which connector depending on which slot is occupied, they pull a lot of tricks with wording in marketing material, but manual is clear which connector degrades speed or loses connection completely if you use which m2 or whatever.
have decent heatsink on VRMs. know what CPU you'll use, what TDP, try and see if that mobo has a teardown online, look at nr of phases. more = better (usually). have some thunderbolt whatever.
>>
imagine buying nvidia and having to think about the fucking power connector for the rest of your life, couldn't be me

Glad to see that AMD finally fixed FSR4 FG frame pacing for RX 9000 in fully integrated FSR4 games. But at the same time, it shows the pitfalls of Radeon, as there are a lot of issues like this that are still unsolved. The spotty support of basic features like high quality upscaling and good FG is still a problem, and in general the ecosystem is still hit or miss. Having said all that, you can still get an RX 9070 non-XT for $700, vs $1200 for a 5070 Ti. I can understand why anons who need something right now (maybe their old hardware died or something) would choose a Radeon card.

For the tinkerers who are interested in a budget card, I actually think the ARC B570 or B580 might be worthwhile, especially with modded support for FSR 4. And with FSR 4 finally getting ported to RX 6000, the 6700 XT and variants might also be a consideration if the used market value is low enough.

>>110191076
>RX 9070 non-XT for $700
which depending on the exact model you can replace its bios with a xt one and get 9070XT power limit, which seriously transforms the gpu. not exactly a 9070xt but not that far off. closer to xt than to stock non xt.
it's absolute top best possible value gpu atm, if you replace the bios. for gaming. bar none
just make sure you check plebbit for model compatibility so there's no surprises, and make sure it has decent cooling to support the extra power draw

Kinda high for the power figures, if those are accurate at all.. And those power numbers are pretty low in general, I don't know if it's supposed to be that low. The CPU claims TDP of 120W. You'd think it gets at least close to that.

Depends on whether it keeps its normal boost clocks while under load I guess.

I went with the MSI MAG x870e tomahawk Max, but the non-Max is also pretty decent (think the Max has better power delivery to the cpu and mobo). Reason I went with it, it's one of the only boards that doesn't share PCIe lanes between the GPU and NVMe. Instead it shares lanes between the rear USB4.0 and NVMe, which was an easy "turn off the USB4.0" decision for me. I don't care about USB high speed transfers, I'd rather have two PCIe v5 NVMe drives installed. But honestly, it comes down to your preference. Just be aware pretty much EVERY mobo for the AM5 chipset splits lanes between GPU and NVMe which essentially makes one of your high speed NVMe slots dead-on-arrival

It'd be alright but not great.
The current stock of 1440p monitors have worse text clarity than 4k monitors or lcd at same res.
The rgb stripe monitors arrive next year at higher prices so this is an awkward spot to invest in to a 1440p oled.

A 360hz would be better for cs.
But if you want cheap monitor its great.

There was a business report out yesterday by one of the memory manufacturers that says they plan on increasing vram prices to be more in line with hbm. If that is true than the cost difference between manufacturing hbm cards and conventional vram cards would be negligible.

Basically things are about to get so expensive that the cost of adding hbm to a card will be irrelevant.

Yeah classic EVGA behavior. Download Precision X1 from their site, run it, and hit Default on the main OC screen, then hit iCX and hit Default on all the sub pages for fan curve, frequency/temp, LED, etc. Then shut it down and remove all power for a minute or so. Fans should behave normally after that. If they don't then there's something deeper wrong with the card.
The way EVGA's iCX system works is janky where the LED controller has some auxiliary responsibilities controlling some of the fans (I think) so any fan curve editor or LED program that doesn't understand that can give it garbage commands causing only 1 fan to work. That's been my experience anyway.

If your PSU can handle mid-to-high end RTX 30 or RX 6000 video cards, it can safely power most RTX 40 & 50 cards (basically all but the 4090 & 5090).
>>
>>110196087
>9.1A at 600w
I told him to buy a new PSU if he plans to get a video card that draws 600W.
You shit about per pin current is stale and boring.
There's 0 publicly reported melts of 5080s using one of those Cablemod power cables.
>>
>>110196187
yea 5080 has more headroom but did anon specify what RTX GPU he gets?
>>
>>110196114
3000 series cards is where the power spikes started. I have a 3060 Ti. It only works with modern PSUs, trips OCP on older ones. Even 660W PSU despite being only a 180W card.
>>
>>110195733
>>110195767
well shit, I was planning on getting a 5070 ti
my PSU is a bit old nowadays, an EVGA Supernova something 850W Gold
4x 8-pin VGA slots
I thought the whole 12HPWR thing changed with the new ATX standards which go on the GPU connector's side
Guess i'm grabbing a new PSU as well? recommendations?
>>
>>110196202
It's far less likely that guy's planning to use his old PSU to power a 5090 over any other video card that requires the 12V-2x6 power connection.
And I already told him to buy a new PSU if he got a 5090.
>>
>>110196215
You'd have to be pretty retarded to cause a melt on a 5070 Ti, that 850W EVGA PSU is still serviceable.
A reference tier 5070 Ti draws 300W at stock settings, most models won't allow you to draw 400W (unless you're bypassing the limit with software).

>>110195868

>>110195949
different company who owns philips monitors and tvs I believe
it's kinda shit
>>
>>110196287
I guess my concern is not so much on the power draw but rather the connectors
the adapters that come with the GPU are one thing
the connector on the GPU is another point of failure
then it depends if the PSU can handle it (which it seems to, at least)
>>
>>110196326
Kill yourself.
>>
>>110196326
>I guess my concern is not so much on the power draw but rather the connectors
These new power connection have higher safety margin at lower levels of power draw.
People with a 5070 or a 5070 Ti don't have to worry about it if they can fully seat both ends of the cable.

Go ahead and waste your money on a new PSU if that makes you feel better.
You might as well buy a Radeon card to stick with the 8-pin connectors.

I tried that exact setup and with my intel matx board the underside mount collides with one of the cross beams. The big plastic easy adjust locators are too thick. A pointless feature that's unnecessary.

I do like it though and I hope to reuse it in another case.

having too many sata/nvme drives will disable usb on some boards

It happened on my non-coated screen too even though in that case I think at least part of it was that this distilled water I bought is not in fact distilled. It sucks it takes so much effort to take care of these screens. Now you have to throw the microfiber away after you use it.

Woleds are just cucked in general, id rather have a matte qd oled over a glossy woled.
>>
>>110198406
A flagship tandem woled like the G5 or G6 matches an S90D in color luminosity around there which mean it must actually blow out a qdoled monitor by alot, not to mention the general crazy brightness difference
I'd take a G6 over a qdoled monitor
But one must first consider the award winning S99H King of TVs
next display I buy WILL be a TV
monitors are kinda too boring

you'd have to be a colossal retard to use a gpu to frame gen and ai filters. the reason dual gpus died out is because the 2nd unit it always playing catch up to the 1st.
