Japs are incredibly dented when it comes to "unauthorised tampering", homebrew and piracy, see the recent drama about the Tekken 6 PC port with rollback netcode. They're 100% seething even if this is giving a sudden cash inflow spike because they legit think that it means that they'll lose gorillions of dollars of game sales in the long run and because of their "how dare you do something that was not intended by the creators" mentality.

Move this file to the folder located in Sketch > Show Sketch Folder

Click Verify (the check mark under files) to make sure it compiled successfully. Compiled successfully means you'll get an output message similar to:

Select the Upload button (Next to Verify)

IF IT FAILS
Open Terminal
Enter "sudo usermod -aG dialout $USER"
RESTART computer

>>
>>585509838
it's true for every game/system since the x360 at least, which is why every physical game comes with the required firmware to run it already on the physical media it uses, so that even if offline you can update your system to play that game
>>
>>585510717
is this tru?
>>
Are there any working freeshops for the switch left? Tried looking but the more famous ones apparently all stopped working.
>>
>>585510883
hmm I see I misread then as I don't think my issue was with updating to latest. I was talking about how an old switch 1 game wouldn't run on the latest switch 2 firmware, tested only after updating and taking it offline. I don't know what updates were required for botw of all games, I just know I couldn't play my cart without internet
>>
>>585511215
i think the thing here is
>On release I updated to 21.X and erased wifi
a thing switch 1 also does is knowing that a game needed an update even if you just got it and never connected online when you did, but given you did go online before the system got that knowledge and then hit you with the update nag anyway.
It's some kind of database the system has, it's weird.

>>
>>585514929
I would've brought a Pro model for that. I could jailbreak a PS4 I suppose, but I'm scared there won't be another opportunity to jailbreak a PS5 in the future.
>>
>>585515738
I imagine the next jailbreak will come when Claude finds another major leap in coding. So, sometime next year.

It might be safer than to wait for that. The PS6 will be out by the end of that year, so Sony will move their focus elsewhere.

Worst case scenario, you will need to wait until PS5 FW 20.00 gets released and you are told to not update anymore.
>>
>>585516759
The smart thing is to just update my PS4 and PS5 as per usual then. Since iirc the latest version of PS4 can be jailbroken anyways. The PS5 will be the much better console to jailbreak especially when my goal is to have one console that can hold all my whole physical library, but since I have to hold 2 consoles no matter what it's better for me to keep my latest one to play online with my normie friends.

If I were to hypothetically jailbreak my PS5 would I be able to ever update it and use it like normal or would I get banned the second I do?
>>
>>585517393
If you can connect to PSN with the jailbroken console , you do run the severe risk of being banned. But, it depends on how much Sony cares and if your console sends reports automatically. If you don't use cheats online, you may be able to get away with it.

A complete format of your console before updating it is the recommended practice.
>>
>>585517876
I assume I will be able to get all the data and previous downloads back post reformatting so I should be good. Just mildly annoying because I already jailbroken my PS4 to test it.

I don't really cheat or anything. I literally just want an all-in-one PS machine. I was attracted to some mods like 60 FPS Bloodborne but that's honestly about it. Don't know if they even care for single player.
>>
>>585519565
Oh wait my jailbroken PS4 is fine because that will stay jailbroken I'm getting everything confused lol anyways thanks anon.

>>
>>585485472
You have a switch 1 WITH A BOOTROM EXPLOIT that can update and get new games. This switch 2 userland exploit doesn't compromise keys so when a new update is released nintendo will rotate their keys and you can't decrypt the newer games. In fact even dlc might require a different FW

>>
>>585522052
Would a kernel exploit be able to compromise keys? I'd assume not since PS5 pirating gets limited to the last exploitable firmware but maybe the switch firmware is different.
>>
>>585531159
no. kernel wouldn't be any more useful than what's already out. You'd need to exploit the trustzone or even the bootrom to have a chance of extracting keys.

>>
>>585532914
It depends but I think emulation up to 23.0.1 is possible and once an emulator is out someone can slop a decompile
>>
>>585532914
Real answer:
Technically possible, but it depends.
A lot of the quick AI slop-comps are possible so fast because they're windows, and/or built on publicly accessible libraries. The game code itself is already going to take a long time, but a lot of code is going to be built in libraries that handle common functions, or anything related to rendering graphics. You can absolutely brute force your way through every single library and SDK function, but it'll take a long ass time.
I can speak personally. Depends if someone's willing to buy 4 $100+ claude subscriptions for a year to do it lmao.

Decomps are a entirely different beast from recomps. At this moment in time, no. PlayStation games can be decompiled rather quickly (speaking relatively) because of the hardware already being well documented. The switch 2 doesn't have the level of documentation as say a PlayStation 2 has for instance.
>>
Has anyone in this thread actually successfully run the Switch 2 exploit? I saw a PS1 decomp that was done by 1 guy with like 2 $200 and 3 $100 subscriptions. Haven't seen many teams doing it personally. I think it'll take a bit for things to cool down. People to have developed the process, and for the people in it just trying to get attention to leave.
>>
>>585546143
retard here. why wouldn't you just do it on one subscription?
>>
>>585546276
Because even the highest tier still has limits, and it's cheaper to get another subscription then to start buying API credits. Don't know why more not more $200 subs though. Might be in order to make sure each has completely different contexts.
>>
>>585543091

Not to burst anybody's bubble, but unless Nintendo somehow managed to fuck up their own microkernel implementation, this isn't going to lead to a kernel exploit. ns2jb lets you run arbitrary code inside the sandbox the OS grantss to SmileBASIC (or WebKit, in its case).
Don't expect to be able to run anything except mods and "hurr durr kickass homebrew" for the foreseeable future, or possibly ever.
Believe me, I'd be overjoyed to be wrong.
>>

I've been having no issues using them on openrouter for hacking (Switch 2) related stuff, haven't checked for like actual piracy but I reckon console hacking/modding should trigger similar safeguards if there were any.

>>585558927
Dumping games yes, actually playing the dumps, not so much. Having read/write access to fs means you *can* hook into the kernel module and intercept/modify data, but it doesn't bypass signature checks. If you try to replace the exefs and romfs of one game with ones dumped from a different game, the kernel won't accept said exefs if it doesn't match the target game's signature.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good start, but if Scires and company weren't able to find absolutely anything that looked exploitable in the process of recreating the Horizon OS kernel from scratch, I have my doubts that this will amount to anything more.

Yes, exFAT is a licensed technology, so Nintendo is saving pennies by forcing only the users who want to use exFAT cards to download the driver for it instead of including it in the system by default and paying the license for every single system sold.

It doesn't have to be a microSD that was used in a switch, no.
The only thing that's required is for the card to be formatted as exFAT in Windows. Even a completely empty microSD works for this. If it's not working for you, you probably have to wipe the card's boot sector with Rufus or Diskpart or whatever, the Switch 2 probably expects the card to be using a GPT partition table.

apparently webkit exploits won't be usable for switch 2s past some certain version since Nintendo blocks it if the switch 2 can't check in after connecting to wifi/ethernet or you reboot the system too many times while offline

so if you didn't get smilebasic4 or one of the save exploit games (and the necessary saves for those aren't released before a new update) you're fucked
>>
>>585645839
>so if you didn't get smilebasic4 or one of the save exploit games (and the necessary saves for those aren't released before a new update) you're fucked
The exploit has been confirmed to be found in many switch 1 games, the exploit simply has to be written for them. Also, by the time any CFW is even possible it may be a year from now or more. By then other exploits will be found.

>>
>>585646282
>The exploit has been confirmed to be found in many switch 1 games
which doesn't matter unless you can do it without a save transfer, since you need to connect to Nintendo's servers to do it and once an update to fix the fs exploit is released you'll need to update before being able to do any save transfers (and Nintendo could block save transfers for the exploit titles before then too)

>>585646386

>>585647240

The exploit doesn't even need smilebasic at all. So you won't need a save transfer either.
>>
>>585646750
I got one from Walmart a couple of days ago and put it into my switch 2, and it read/formatted it. So, they 'function' at the very least. Plus, 256gb was like 44 bucks.
>>
>>585647502
if it doesn't require a save transfer or another exploit then that's good, although it's gonna suck once the applicable game gets scalped to hell

>>585418774
>Smilebasic isn't a requirement, any entry point can be used for this, regardless of it being a S1 game, a S2 game or the browser. Obviously this was developed for this Smilebasic entrypoint so people will rush to get it, but know this can be ported to anything, the FS command exposing the vulnerability can be found pretty much everywhere.

It's simply a matter of someone replicating the slop code that the AI developed and making it compatible with other games. It will take time to do but someone is going to do it eventually as this entrypoint gets burned over time.

bought borderlands collection for $10 and skyrim switch 2 version for $30 and remembered why i dont game on consoles.

there's no point. gamepad controls for a majority of games are garbage and keyboard and mouse are so definitive you unironically cannot go back. it's rare that a controller is truly better outside of action games like dark souls (i still managed to play lies of p easily on keyboard and mouse). the controls alone really do just make games garbage. seriously, try playing borderlands, an FPS on the switch. it's miserable. luckily i didn't spend too much

honestly i might just straight up delete my nintendo account (ownership is an illusion but people are not ready to hear that) and get rid of the switch 2. life is too short to use garbage tech.

I'm really excited about it since the switch 1 is my emulation machine, but I've always been just a bit disappointed that it can't run the big boy emulators.

Idk about benchmarks but here's a quote from a youtube comment

Don't care, not hacking. People still pretending that the Switch 2 has any worthwhile games are hilarious. Good games jump out at you. You don't have to go online making essays. You're playing them. I think it's rare to get good games that you can just sink time into anymore. For me the last one was unironically Red Dead Redemption 2. I know, movie game. But it was immersive. You fucking idiots. IT'S SLOP CODE THAT CAN'T EVEN BE INTERPRETED BY A HUMAN BEING. IT CAN'T BE BUG TESTED.
If it wasn't it would be ported to every switch 1 game because the same vulnerability in smilebasic exists in all switch 1 games. But the current code only works for smilebasic and absolutely no one can figure out how or why it works. It's not fucking legible. It will take months for someone to figure out how the duplicate it and fix it so that it isn't so unstable. You are taking a massive risk by using it and it should only be done by devs that plan to use the code to develop further hacks for the console. If you're just running the code for shits and giggles, this is what you're getting. In fact, you are better off waiting until the exploit is ported to other games and NOT even use smilebasic at all because of how unstable this is.

>>
>>585787726
You don't need smilebasic either.
>>
>>585788073
you want smile basic, because the not-yet-released webkit exploit automatically errors with feature unavailable after a set amount of time of not connecting to nintendo (or rebooting too many times)
>>
>>585722673
No, that was me.
>>
>>585788212
No, you don't need smilebasic because by the time any not-yet-released exploits are released (which will be months) the vulnerability in smilebasic will have been replicated in other switch 1 games. The vulnerability in smilebasic can be found everywhere, the code simply has to be written for it. So if you're an end user, smilebasic will be obsolete by the time anything worth doing to your switch 2 comes out.
>>
>>585788469
yeah mean, you're going to find a game that allows inputs of characters that lets you run the same exploit in other games, without needing a hacked switch 1

totally.
>>
>>585788469
the smilebasic vulnerability requires 7000 characters of text. if one character's out the exploit fails. how do you think people are going to replicate that in mario party or whatever?
>>
>>585788736
>the smilebasic vulnerability requires 7000 characters of text.
Because it's slop code written by an AI. It will take time to unslop so it can be ported to other games but that's quite literally the only obstacle. It's no impossible, just tedious. Supposedly the same vulnerability can be found in the browser too.
>>
>>585788237
How hopefully are you for pkhex on gen 10?
>>
>>585788861
other games will totally let you type in and execute code.

riiiiight.

you're huffing copium real hard, only way for you to do without hacked switch, is if the ai slop retards publish a webkit exploit that inserts a save into your artemis engine VNs.

So you would need:
1 exploit that doesn't exist for webkit
that webkit exploit chained into ability to place save
1 exploit that isn't public and only known about because of a tranny shitposter attentionwhore making it publicly known it's a thing

alternatively, you need smile basic 4 and nothing else.

exploit stacking several exploits that are either not released or not public, or smile basic 4.

no other game.
>>
>>585789010
>Smilebasic isn't a requirement, any entry point can be used for this, regardless of it being a S1 game, a S2 game or the browser. Obviously this was developed for this Smilebasic entrypoint so people will rush to get it, but know this can be ported to anything, the FS command exposing the vulnerability can be found pretty much everywhere.
>>
>>585789457
you repeating that line from gezine doesn't help you in the slightest, as the only other means is webkit exploit or savegame hax.

you can't get things going on its own in another game, as an arbitrary amount of button presses in the game isn't going to allow you to do shit.

you have to have at least one more exploit, which doesn't exist, and isn't public, and definitively isn't going to be public in the future either.

to go along with your entry to pwn FS.

good luck with the extreme copium

no matter which non-smile basic 4 route you go, you are going to need non-public exploit vectors, and several of them chained together

It's a little bit inconvenient. You have to write games to the builtin flash memory if you want to avoid ingame slowdown, which takes a minute or two. The flash memory is 128MB, so realistically that's about 8 games at a time.
If you are willing.to live with this limitation then it's a perfectly viable option.

seedsow demo with pozzed save file transferred from an unbanned CFW'ed switch 1.
There is a way to pozz the file yourself with an editor, but only to gain access to a lua editor in-game on the sw2. Thing is the ns2jb exploit is not yet ported to it. However, and I quote gezine,
>I don't understand why people are using weird lua editor. Just port lua exploit from PS4 using llm or something

New to Switch modding. For the Switch NSP files that I have, what is the difference between different versions of games? For example, I have South Park Stick of Truth v0 (which is 5.7GB) and v65536 (which is 50MB - is this an update?). Also The Fractured But Whole v0 (which is 14.1 GB) and v327680 (which is 5.92GB). Are the smaller versions updates for the games? If so, am I transferring both version NSP files (split the files that are greater than 4GB before transferring as I have a FAT32 SD card) to the Switch?
>>
>>585982725
Switch games as NSPs are generally split up as a base game, and then updates as their own NSPs. Updates contain every previous update so you only need the most recent ones. For whatever reason, version numbers go in multiples of 65536, so v65536 is update 1, v327680 is update 2, etc. So yes, you transfer both NSPs, install the base then install the update. DLC is the same way.

The other option is to create an all-in-one bundled package that includes all updates (and DLC if applicable) and deploy it as a single NSP, but that's advanced stuff and you don't need to know how to do that.

Thats insane! Hopefully this gets released to the public. Id like to play the Star fox and zelda remake without having to buy the hardware. It still looks too big, and the screen just doesnt match the previous oled one. Maybe the switch 2 games will even be back ported to the switch and run at 720p? I dont get why Nintendo pushed the 4k capability of tge switch 2. When it was always just AI upscaling. Most 4K tvs have a built in upscaler. The sony one is pretty good, I couldnt believe it. Definitely made a difference, compared to other company upscaling. The Nvidia shield tv 2019 pro does well too. Anyway, here is hoping we get to run these games on an emulator soon. I never imagined AI would he used to recompile games or hack the switch 2. Hopefully there arent some hidden bugs there somewhere with brick code added by the jews. As is so much of AI is censored, I still cant believe this hack is real.l, and Claude or anthropic doesnt give out ," I cant help you with that. I would be circumventing copy protection, blah, blah blah.. illegal, blah.." type responses like it does when asking about roms, tv or movie downloads, etc
>>

basically ktemkin didn't find the exploit on their own, and was told about it, and decided to steal the thunder for the entire thing.

the only reason you dont hear about ktemkin, qyriaad or tuxxsh (they are all in a trans-ace-poly relationship), is because ktemkin got caught raping a minor in spain.

tuxsh who was going to write hypervisor memunand, never did, because scires exiled ktemkin for being a pedophile groomer, and they didn't like that.

double nvm I forgot I have to restart after disabling 90DNS

Speaking of 90DNS, I saw someone say 90DNS won't block supernag. Is that true? Because I want to use my switch for actual homebrew (especially moonlight), it'd suck to have to actually go full airplane mode to avoid the supernag.
>>
>>586118167
90dns actually causes nag(s)
if your switch that's been offline for more than 24 hours tries to connect and fails, then you get nagged
also you can just use 8.8.8.8 as the primary dns instead of restarting the console each time you disable it, just be sure to set it back to the 90dns IP when done

I was using 90DNS for several days with no nags, what exactly triggers it to "try to connect and fail"? And is it a different kind of nag than "supernag"?
Basically I just wanna make sure my shit doesn't get fucked trying to use online-enabled homebrew once a firmware update is available.

Assuming I'm reading instructions right, and my retardedness didn't get in the way, if I've installed emuMMC properly, i can log in to my Switch account as normal on sysMMC which is untouched, and do all my dodge homebrew/pirating shit on the emuMMC.

Right?
>>
>>586127874
that's the gist of it, though it's also worth to remember that it's 4 separate things: stock sys and emu, and cfw sys and emu.
>Stock SysMMC
the one where you play games online and basically do everything like normal, no worries
>CFW sysMMC
still the same "partition", but with cfw enabled so you can run homebrews (at this stage, you just use it for harmless stuff like save backups and whatnot, absolutely AVOID installing games via homebrews here)
>stock emuMMC
the emulated partition but with no cfw capabilities, basically useless but still it exists
>CFW emuMMC
the emulated partition with cfw enabled, you use this for piracy and shit. Keep in mind that, when installing games here, choosing "sd card" or "internal" is the same thing, cause both things still point to the sd card anyway (as the emuMMC lives on the sd card in the first place)

basically, stock and CFW are like a toggle, while sys and emu are the actual partitions
>>
>>586126890
oh, so basically I'm okay as long as I don't try to do those things?
>>
FPKG support for Ps5 13.60 when?
>>
>>586128152
Right, and I'm guessing it's also free to connect online only with stock sysMMC, and keep offline for emuMMC? What about updating it? If a new OS version comes out tomorrow, fine to install in sysMMC since emuMMC would stay on the older version or does it overwrite ALL of them?
>>
>>586129271
>and I'm guessing it's also free to connect online only with stock sysMMC, and keep offline for emuMMC?
ye, basically you have to avoid going online on the MMC that has pirated games installed, cause that's the main thing that surefire gonna get you banned. General homebrews is safe even on sysMMC, and you might just want to be careful fiddling with saves but even that is mostly safe if you stick to games that aren't about playing online

>What about updating it?
the most important thing when it comes to fimrware updates is waiting for the hacky shit (atmosphere, hekate) to update to support that, which usually takes a few days at most.
The "issue" is that updating normally, through stock sysmmc, will overwrite the bootloader (hekate) and also remove all your settings (for example autoRCM), so unless you want to keep doing the jig thing everytime you update, not that it happens that often, especially going forward, imo you should use daybreak (included with atmosphere, you can find it in the homebrew menu) to update the sysmmc firmware too. Because that's the only difference, it's still as safe as updating normally but you don't lose your bootloader and shit
fyi daybreak is what you use to update the emuMMC' firmware too, and you can find the firmware files for it linked in the guide in op (some darthsomething website)
>>
>>586129776

So essentially, stick to pirate shit on emu, and stock for anything that's tied to my account, whether it's transferring a save between my Switch 2 to my modded Switch Lite.
