>>4611162Don't forget. Welcome to Elderfield released (very cozy farming SIM with 4 f/f options).
>>4611162Due to the fact that threads somehow dont last a month anymore I'm only doing "upcoming releases" for the same month now. And in case someone wonders, yes a few of the last news posts games were delayed.
>>4611166Already mentioned in last thread's news post.
>>4611166Darn, it was 5! Totally forgot cute ghost librarian.
>>4611168Well, you can never mention it enough times that a very cozy farming game is out there.
>"with some minor /u/ content">"with some /u/ content">with a f/f pairing [which only gets a couple lines. In a 80 hours game]>with f/f pairings [which are just the copypasted m*le content with neutral pronouns]It's not even scraps; it's the dirt from the naked ground
>>4611199Or you are just a worthless retard.
>>4611199>THEY MUST SCISSOR IN FRONT OF ME OR IT'S NOT YURIThe post.
>>4611217Worse, he intentionally cherrypicks his examples and pretends that it's not a fact that most games dont focus on romance. Everything this moron said also applies to most het games.
>>4611161I have fetched an actual ending log for Fortune's Weave. https://game8.co/games/Fire-Emblem-Fortunes-Weave/archives/628208And while this is still a work in progress and doesn't actually feature all endings yet, guess what? There are quite a few yuri endings.Eshmel x TheodoraEshmel x Leda (kind of a tsundere ending)Eshmel x Esmeralda (kind of a downer/yearning ending)Eshmel x MikaelaEshmel x Lilian (once again, kind of a downer ending)Eshmel x Sha LanEshmel x Alexandra (this is the yuri baby ending)Eshmel x FiannaEshmel x Loretta (this bitch Eshmel just can't stay with her girlfriends)Eshemel x Inyoni (never got married to anyone, but Eshmel kept visiting in secret, gee I wonder why)Leda x MuI think it is absurdly funny that Leda x Mu is the only non-Eshmel pairing that is already on the site.Considering how many A ranks I have seen in screenshots between characters (A-rank is the "get an ending together" tier) I am sure more will follow.Interesting is how Mu's Eshmel ending is platonic. I think they might be going for her being an actual lesbian, as having a romance Eshmel ending makes the character automatically bisexual instead. One thing's for sure though, Leda has the most yuri art.
I played the Anomalith demo. The good is that there's pretty much only female characters to interact with, the bad is that I didn't get any glimpses of yuri. Based on the gameplay, price point ($50??), and jankiness (it crashed twice, one of those times was after the demo's last boss so I had to fight it again) I don't think I'll buy the full thing, maybe watch someone on youtube play it and investigate any possible yuri that way. Before someone yaps at me for the pricing thing, I bought Samurai Maiden on launch so I'm no stranger to buying janky games if they have yuri. But in that case it was an actual gameplay feature advertised before launch.
>>4611366I will buy Anomalith at launch; I liked the demo a lot and unlike you I had no crashes. Unless it has an absurd price in my region; it's not available for prepurchase on Steam so I have to wait until launch date.
>>4611162>Blue WyrmForgive my pedantry, but I believe this game is less of a Soulslike and actually a Kingsfield-like. First person, dungeon like designs and the hard polygonal look.It also looks fucking sick! I really would not have pegged this as a yuri game if this wasn't in the news post. The pin knight is rescuing her girlfriend, the blue knight it seems.People with proneness to epilepsy should definitely avoid this game however. Those psychedelic effects would immediately destroy them.
>>4611378>pedantryKnowledge isn't pedantry. Don't let the illiterate tell you otherwise.
>>4611161https://store.steampowered.com/app/4236860/Witchs_Atelier/Upcoming farming/life sim where you play as a witch who can romance female villagers. It's rare to get farming sims with a defined female protag who actually talks, so this is a win.
>>4611378That was fun and cute.
>>4611385Hella cute. So protag is exclusively female and not a self-insert? I didnt even know that was allowed for this genre.
>>4611445Metal AND wholesome. A combination. far too rare.
>>4611456Absolute peak. Expected the worst. Got the guddest of endings instead. More of that, pls.
i bought eternal strands and signalis from the salehope signalis lives up to the hype
>>4611461It will. It's THE yuri game and outside the yuri angle it absolutely destroys any Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
>>4611461Pls, come back with more Eternal Strands data. Signalis is a well documented "where is my waifu" simulator in which more gay stuff is happening all around. But Eternal Strands holds no specific /u/ documentation except some sales announcement. And neither list gives much information.
>>4611464Do you realize you can play Eternal Strands yourself?
>>4611162The Thorns of War, a sequel to The Rose of Segunda, has been released (otome vn with 2 f/f options). Not sure if $25 is worth it if only two routes out of eight are /u/ relevant. The author claims the game is 15x bigger than the first one, so maybe.
>>4611498The previous ones used to have just on female love interest ao that's already 2 x the yuri. Maybe by the next game there will by 3 yuri options (and 15 males).
>>4611498>>4611500There are plenty of female only romance games; you should support thise instead of hetshit
>>4611162>-Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave released...You're trolling right? That game has one yuri pairing out of like 60+ characters, don't waste your money on that shit.
>>4611502>>4611503Desperate times for our regular troll it seems. Running out of material already?
>>4611469Do you think we have 30 dollars or something? Miss rich pants over here, I bet you eat your meals with silverware made out of actual metal.
>>4611502I do what I damn well please.
>>4611503>>4611354
>>4611521its 9 dollars on saleor was
>>4611163I saw that op had two Linkle mods so I added all the ones i could find. There were two games without Linkle so I got the Saria one for Zelda II. Wisdom already got Zelda as protag so the Linkle mod was pointless so skipped that one
Ocarina of Time and GTAVI stand no chance next month.
>>4611688We will see. It's nice that Crymlight comes out right at the start of the month, but we don't even confirmation of the yuri yet. Why even bring up OoT weirdo?
>>4611644Hm. This is the second time someone did that and this time it's even more somehow. It seems people just really want to play the Zelda games with a female protag. I don't want to be the villain here, so let's reevaluate it again. The reason I reduced the those Linkle mods to just Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword was because those are the only two Zelda games that have open romance/attraction between [protagonist] and some of the girls. The Ocarina mod specifically has a lesbian dialogue addition. Skyward Sword is ultimately a love story that start that soulmate connection between all Links and Zeldas across time.I've been looking into it a bit more. The Breath of the Wild collection has not one but two clearly sexually coded "sleepover" additions now. One with Paya and one with the Gerudo leader. And the relationship between [protag] and Zelda is at least somewhat implied to be deeper than subject/mistress or friends.I was not aware Tears of the Kingdom already has a Linkle mod too. I never played it unfortunately.Wind Waker, from what I remembered has Tera/Zelda being kind of tsundere for [protag]... But I was not aware they made a Linkle mod for Phantom Hourglass already. And the mod author confirmed they are working on Spirit Tracks too. As a trilogy I think the Wind Waker games actually do have a solid devloping romance between [protag] an Zelda.Twilight Princess... well whatever you think of Midna's relationship with [protag] there is the childhood friend in the village and the barmaid who makes some raunchy comments about [protag]. But that's all can think of. There are many potentially interested girls in the game, but nothing too explicit. So this is really carried by how you see Midna's relationship with [protag].The original LoZ is so barebones it doesnt really have anything resembling romance. But Zelda II does literally end with a kiss from Zelda. So I think that LoZ II mod is the first one that is unambiguously on topic.
>>4611708(continued)Link's Awakening? A Link between Worlds? I don't think those games got anything to offer romance wise. Majora's Mask... not I can't think of anything relevant at all.If there was a Minish Cap one it would probably count, considering the game starts with Zelda and Link on a date. But alas, it does not exist. So you see my predicament. I can certainly add some of these with good reasoning. But others are just kind of superfluous for a yuri mod list.I would need more feedback I suppose. I will leave the mods on the public paste, but only transfer the unambiguous ones for now.PS: Isn't the playable Malon in Ocarina one a bit redundant? It does the same thing as the Linkle one. I guess it's just a matter of taste.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4801980/Rain_of_Lead/Something actually neat was found during the early Next Fest scavenging. Katana Zero clone with probably toxic yuri.
>>4611749Goddamn, that's amazing.
>>4611749Nice, added to wishlist.
So the new Castlevania got a female protag for the first time since that shitty Gameboy game. What are the bets on some yuri in Belmont's Curse?
>>4611756Order of Ecclesia is the best Castlevania, actually.
>>4611759Oh sorry, I dont count non-Belmont games that get ignored by the timeline. But true, technically Shanoa was a woman in a Castlevania game. Also unfortunately rather het-coded and we only avoided an actual het romance because her boyfriend died. But if we go that far, then technically you could play Castlevania 3 as Sypha once you found her... Who obviously got married to Trevor, which led to Rose being born, who you now play in Belmont's Curse. So is Rose gonna get some yuri or not? Yay or Nay?
>>4611760Who knows. Demo was actually just short enough to be teasing. Outside of some affectionate moments, I hope selecting the Guardian or Prophetess let's us turn 'em into our navi expy. Like that one boss in the demo.
>>4611756Due to its very nature Castlevania is an het franchise. Don't expect anything from the new game.
>>4611749Nice, can't wait to play.
>>4611749A yuri influenced by Katana Zero? Now that's something.
>>4611765That would be sick. My thought was that if one of the very common bosses, like the succubus, appears it could at least lead to something gay. But it's a 50/50 in female protag games. They often use that to "subvert" the situation by making female protag immune to charme powers from succubi. Also we got a pretty major example of non-seductive succubus use in Symphony of the Night, where she instead imitated Alucard's mother to mess with his mind. Oh and in the bad ending for Rondo of Blood, Richter's girlfriend is turned into a succubus and she still just uses her claws to kill him. So I suppose this is a franchise that doesn't actually do the usual trope much.>>4611766What, because the Belmont line has to canonically continue? Just say Trevor had more than one kid. Problem solved.
>>4611770>What, because the Belmont line has to canonically continue?Yes, exactly. I'm willing to bet that the new game will canonize Sonia fucking Alucard.
>>4611776Sonia being het never really stood in question, but I doubt Alucard is fucking involved. We are talking about Rose here, which is a different character. Did you think she was the same girl from the Gameboy title..?
>>4611777Yes. The new game is a pretty blatant reinterpretation of the Castlevania Adventure >"I am Sonia Belmont, but to hide my identity from Dracula's minions I used the name Rose" Wild that you people are hyping a Castlevania game as the next big Yuri game of 2026
>>4611770That'd be fitting for Rose. From one of the trailers it also looked like there might be a harpy miniboss so maybe they could flirt with Rose too. Of course, my big hope, is that all of Carmilla's dialogue is appropriately flirty and it just flusters Rose
>>4611778>hyping as the next big yuri gameDon't put words in her mouth, you dingdong. She just asked for bets
>>4611778>the usual troll lineOh you aren't actually a real person. Why didn't you just start with that so I could ignore you as usual?
>>4611779Carmilla is in this? Okay, that considerably raises the stakes for the bet.
>>4611782She's flashed in, I think, the bloody tears trailer. I suppose I shoulda spoiled her but eh. Still gotta temper the bet since it's Castlevania Carmilla.
>>4611786As long as the Judgement writer doesn't touch this game we're probably safe.
>>4611792I don't remember her being particularly het in Judgement. Loyal to Drac, yes, but so are most of his minions. It's the Netflix writers we should be worried about being involved. Fortunately Warren Ellis has been blacklisted more or less, and he was the main one against Carmilla being a lesbian iirc.
>>4611798In Judgement she was a slut in a string bikini who flirted with the male characters and made fun/antagonized all of the female ones.>Netflix writersThe ones who, unlike the actual game's writers, included lesbians in their series? I think that offsets the shitty Carmilla, because it's not like she was much better in the games she appeared in.The Netlfix series is just far superior in writing than any of the games, which sadly isn't that hard. But it has to be said when someone does their usual "netflix bad" spiel. Could have definitely used more lesbians than one token vampire pair though.
>4611801I would really encourage everyone to not eat this pathetic bait like cereal.
So, did anyone buy any interesting yuri game during the recently finished Steam sale? Something not included in the OP?
>>4611804What do you even mean by not in OP? The Hella Yuri curator is in the OP, so technically all steam games with yuri are in the OP. Unless one slipped past that curator that is.
>>4611803So pathetic it was deleted lmao
>>4611708>Twilight PrincessExcuse you. It's Midna x Zelda all the way. Did you forget how they tenderly held hands before Zelda sacrificed herself for Midna? Or the way they looked into each others eyes during their reunion? Should have had a royal arranged marriage between those two realms.
>>4611759Where's all the Shanoa /u/?
>>4611760>>4611756If you play Rondo of Blood as Maria it becomes an /ll/ game where you play as a cool loli magical girl vampire hunter saving the lives of a bunch of greatful onee-sans

>>4611162>Mahou Shoujo EscapeOkay, so the fact that this is toxic yuri is actually a spoiler, but I get why it couldn't be avoided for a listing. I really recommend this one. Pretty short game, but the puzzles are fun and the twist in the end is equally fucked up and great yuri.
I don't know if this was mentioned back in August, but Ambrosia Sky finally got its Act 2 update. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3580160/Ambrosia_Sky/In case people forgot this is the yuri space FPS game. Something a very vocal minority of anons here kept asking for. Though there is a bit of a twist on what you are actually shooting and how.

>>4612156Thx anon.
>>4612051You are the actual retard, both for actually settling for shitty slop translations that ruin the actual prose and for thinking that data centers arent burning through energy and fresh water that would be used to fuel enitre cities and agriculture.Fucking AI bros should all kill themselves.
>>4612166I remember that for Faerie you need to buy the largest battery from the pawn shop.
>>4612172There is also no way a guy using MTL actually ported anything himself. He probably used AI to do that too. Pretty much all of these idiots do it. The modding and porting community spits on AI bros, because "vibe coding" is terribly inconsistent and hard to work with. Unstable as shit.I doubt this guy even proofread a single thing either.
>>4612187>AI veganI suppose someone coming up with terms this retarded would think he is funnier than he is.I didn't even say anything about using no AI tools, just that MTLing 9/10 times is the worst possible way to experience a VN and brings with it a 100 issues. You can address my points or you can be a self-important git. It won't change anything about the facts.
Two upcoming games next week with some yuri potential. They appeared in Next Fest, but in the unconfirmed section.https://store.steampowered.com/app/4413070/Red_Chat_Ritual___TSUMIMI_TIME/https://store.steampowered.com/app/3318210/Doomed_Otaku/Out of the two, I think Doomed Otaku is more likely to feature actual f/f romances, but it also features a yumejoshi protag obssessed with male 2D idol games.Tsumimi Time is clearly fucked up and you play some nobody self-insert trying to uncover the truth, so the only yuri can come from the Vtuber pair the game is about, but that is very dodgy due to this being a horror game and Tsumimi being called a psycho... I can imagine that she actually killed/imprisoned her partner and most of the endings are either her dying or getting found out and punished.
>>4611802>The Netlfix series is just far superior in writing than any of the games

>>4612156>mediafire com/file/ml480l29d4hcblc/Ever_Maiden_English_Patch_v1.0.zip/fileI installed it but it's still in jp.
>>4612156>>4612311Same issue here, sadly. It worked for UI though, are you sure you put all necessary files in the archive, patch anon?Have you tried a clean install?
>>4612156>>4612317>all necessary filesThat's probably it, I noticed the zip is lacking the .exe for example, I'd be very surprised that a translation patch didn't need to overwrite that. You dumped 2 GB of stuff and the game is 2.5 GB total, just upload the whole folder to be sure.
>>4612326The translation loads on a game without the 1.1 patch for some reason.
It's because the MTL anon most likely badly tacked the extra content on with AI. Vibe coding often has the issue that it only works on the PC of the person who executed the conversion. He would have to upload the full build with all files, because there is no "patch" so much as a converted game. You people are insane for wanting to actually play this game with a shitty MTL though...
>>4612332
I remember the days when anons got annoyed just by some minor grammatical or spelling errors in the fan translation for AoiShiro. Now they will take actual MTL where the bot gets names, context and prose wrong, because it's quick and easy. This might be fine for some shitty RPGmaker porn game, but not for a high quality narrative focused VN. If no human hand touched this "translation" then there is little reason to even entertain it.
>>4612156>>4612329>The translation loads on a game without the 1.1 patchI mostly figured it out: if you install the patch on an empty folder you can see which files it actually overwrites, and they're all included in the english patch archive, except for the "scr" folder, which is just 3 MB in size, so applying the english patch without having applied the official patch still gives you almost everything.Even if you follow the steps and install the official patch, then the english patch, then remove/rename the "scr" folder, the translation works fine, including extra and console scenarios. Now, maybe the whole game will just work like this, or maybe it will crash halfway through, I don't know.To be sure, since it's just 3 MB, can you at least upload your "scr" folder too, patch anon?
>>4612317My bad, I forgot to include a script fileThe updated Ever Maiden patch is here mediafire com/file/ml480l29d4hcblc/Ever_Maiden_English_Patch_v1.0.zip/fileOr just the scripts if you don't want to redownload everything https://files.catbox.moe/w1xrlm.zipSame link as last time. It should read EN V1.1 on the bottom right of the title screen.>>4612326The patch uses the winmm.dll to inject new functionality in, the .exe itself didn't need to be changed>>4612329The 1.1 patch is nice to have as it includes one short extra scenario but it's fairly optional. I just didn't test it without the patch.
>>4612352You're a good anon and we love you very much.
>>4612355I am surprised you can talk with his stamen that deep down your throat.
>>4612352Have you even proofread this at all? Have you touched up on mistakes? You don't understand Japanese so there is no way for you to actually fix when the MTL just gets the interpretation of a Kanji in the context of the prose wrong, so that can't be helped, but did you at least fix pronoun, naming and grammatical errors? Or did you just not edit this MTL at all? There will be no accounting for made up sentences or missing sentences either, because the MTL got hung up on something... this really is going to be a disaster if this is spread like a real translation. And of course as seen in many other fandoms, once the quick and dirty slop is out, it disincentivizes real translation projects. What a shame.
I'd become toxic too if my girlfriend constantly made that much of a mess. So what nobody mentioned about this game is that the toxic part of this yuri is actually the player. She can be patient or toxic towards poor Doku-chan. There are 10 endings even that take into consideration how much of a bitch you were.
>>4611776Not only does Trevor already have a son who canonically continues the bloodline (Frederick Belmont), Alucard's whole relationship with Maria that takes place hundreds of years after Castlevania III is the thing that the franchise focuses on exclusively. If they keep the canon, Alucard does not awaken once between C3 and Symphony of the Night. So everything about this comment is stupid fearmongering.
>>4612359Btw it's 2026, AI translation is more advanced than most human translators nowAnyone can translate, and anyone can get a free trial and test it out for themselves
>>4612518No it's not, you humongous moron.AI translation, even with the paid high tier models, cannot be better than human translation, because the only thing it can do is translate words. It cannot understand them. Only brainless tech bro with regressed genes like you could honestly not comprehend this.If you just want a travel guide translated, sure. Your LLM can do that AS well as a human (not fucking better). Prose does not work that way. Your shitty LLM can translate a kanji, but the issue with that is how the Japanese language is 70% contextual. A 1:1 translation of words does not actually capture the meaning. LLMs dont do nuance, they cannot read ahead and revise. Something that seems like an odd translation by a real human translator will suddenly make sense once you reach a later point in the story etc.LLMs cannot replace human translators when it comes to prose and lyrics. The best experience will always be the original, but a writer translating something, especially with feedback of the original writer will always be superior to a bland, emotionless, shitty AI translation script. If you need to translate a technical manual for your dryer, then you may as well use a MTL. It will probably manage to give you the information you need somehow. But stay away from human craftsmanship with that garbage.
>>4612156>>4612352Really nice work, the script reads great, I've noticed none of the issues that normally plague machine-scanlations, probably having the whole transcript available ahead of time as reference helps a lot with consistency; big bonus that we also avoid the usual fantasious "localization" re-writes that some translators really love to make up.It's amazing that AI can do stuff like this now, what a time to be alive.
>>4612520I will laugh when it comes out that this shit gets pronouns wrong or skips entire vital sentences down the line.
Speaking of translations, I wonder whatever happened to the anon who wanted to retranslate Lady In Mystery? The last time they said anything about it they seemed to be done with most the routes... I wish they would at least have posted their partial translation.
>>4612520>none of the issues that normally plague machine-scanlations, probably having the whole transcript available ahead of time as reference helpsIt's not just that, manga rely a lot on imagery to tell the story, what the AI "sees" is literally just brief lines of dialogue, which can make it impossible to deduce stuff like the correct romanization of character names or even genders due to how ambivalent japanese names are, and that's when names are even used at all.So of course doing one page or chapter at a time with just that to go off of can't possibly work automatically, not until AI gets good enough at decoding image contents, or at least someone creates a proper framework to leverage the existing capabilities for that type of work.VNs on the other hand are much closer to books, there's a ton of narration text to go with the dialogue to help with context, getting a name right once guarantees it will be right for the whole thing, and every line of dialogue usually has a name tag on it that tells the AI exactly who is saying what; they're pretty much the ideal medium to be machine-translated right now, I wouldn't be surprised if most modern official VN localization processes already begin with an AI draft, much like a sizeable amount of AI coding is already almost universally employed in software development companies, same as AI tools for illustration, models, animation and vfx. It's just how things work now.
MTL anon please translate dear my abyss next
>>4612546That's not a good idea. At all. There are some things you should blast through AI, and this is definitely one of those. Even for someone who understands Japanese it's not always obvious WHO is actually talking in this one, deliberately so.It also heavily relies on.. basically everything there is in the writing. Works like that are extremely rare, and it's unfortunate there's no translation, but if it helps you to cope with it, it's incomplete anyway, and I doubt the writer will ever finish it with a sequel. It's been almost 10 years.
>>4612519AI can do better than some human translators for sure. The amount of horribly mistranslated fan translations has always been tremendous, and some official work has lots of issues too (ironically, Yagakimi anime and manga being one of those - not a complete disaster, but the anime in particular was translated by a translator who notoriously misunderstands lines left and right, making others' translations actively worse too when working as an editor). Can slop translations be good? Right now, hell no, and it's a blight that turns off actual good translators from translating, it's just that a lot of humans manage to make even worse ones. When I started reading in moon I rediscovered a lot of works that used to make literally no sense to me in English...
>>4612572Dub localisations =/= translations. The official manga translation was not plagued by the localisation mistakes of the anime. And you are appealing to the worst case scenario. But with LLMs every case is a bad scenario by default as you trade in actual prose for a flacid and often flawed translation. The idiots who MTL novels are not any better off you know? But sure, in a nebuloua future and assuming the AI bubble doesnt burst before then, LLMsi might be capable of translating better than awful human translators. But the translation from one language into another in prose and lyrics simply requires more than accuratepy translating words.
>>4612572So what if humans can do worse? If there was a shitty human translation it would also be criticized. The solution is to get a good translation, not promote slop.
>>4612528I included lists of sprites, bgs, cgs, that show up at every message, and manually wrote descriptions of every image in the big translation spreadsheet Codex worked through to give it context. Also all the characters in Ever Maiden are just named after birds with official English spellings, there weren't any Japanese names for it to get wrong.
The most obvious thing I have learned when using AI to translate is that they get almost always the pronouns wrong and you have to interject or mention it at least one or two times who is talking and which gender they are. Then you just tweak it with logic and becomes semi-usable. Don't know what the big fuss is about. Sounds like an anonette has a superior complex because she can read moon and doesn't want to translate for the broader community but instead wants to gatekeep others from experiencing Yuri.
>>4612626You still never answered me if you proof read it.
>>4612629Nobody is gatekeeping. Nobody wants a half-assed translation is all. It's also not one person.
>>4612626Sounds like a very reasonable workflow, well done.>there weren't any Japanese names for it to get wrongEven if there were, you could've just fed it the official romanizations in advance.
>>4612634I proof read it>>4612638That's usually what I do. I write a glossary of all the character names and terms and how I want them to be translated. Also personal preference things like keeping honorifics.
>>4612635>Nobody wants a half-assed translation>NobodyThat generalized assumption seems wrong because some are willing to go with the AI TL as mentioned many times before. And if they are fine with it but you and others might not why not just keep quiet? Nobody forces you to look, download or play the AI TL. And that's a generalized fact.
>>4612520ty. I tried to make it sound natural. I'll get to the sequel too when/if that comes out.
I think this page from Watatabe's first chapter is a good example of a situation where AI translation will fail to deliver an authentic reading experience (though these examples are presumably from human translators). If you're reading the story for the first time "I don't want to go (to school)" is the obvious meaning (いきたくない>行きたくない). But as we learn more about Hinako, we realize the double meaning of "I don't want to live" (いきたくない>生きたくない) Hence the localized version on the right: it's not perfectly accurate to either meaning in a vacuum, but it fits the overall meaning of the line in the story. In this case, the translator would need to understand the context of the story as a whole, guess at the meaning the author intended, and pick the appropriate translation. For a human this isn't always possible, as we see in the center version. But I would bet that modern AI would also consistently use that translation. The second type of translation is beyond its current ability. So the double meaning is papered over and the reader doesn't know they've missed anything.
>>4612615It wasn't an issue of changing things intentionally for lip sync or localization reasons, it was very much the translation being flat out wrong a lot of the time, saying almost the opposite of the original lines, or outright non sequiturs. It was genuinely bad. There's even someone on xitter who is obsessively listing all of the mistakes (in the manga too, but there some are a bit nitpicky) https://x.com/MacadateThe manga, yes, didn't suffer nearly as much and the translation is overall acceptable, but it has a lot of funny mistakes like the Moyori Station or messing up dates and speakers.I'm not sure whether any other well-known yuri had such poor official translations... though to be fair they did fix some of the glaring issues in subsequent digital releases years later.
>>4612615>with LLMs every case is a bad scenario by default>The idiots who MTL novels are not any better off you knowYeah, I'm definitely not arguing with that...I still know a lot of people who happily read MTL, and these days even vibe-translate novels for themselves, but I guess they're just that starved for content or don't mind the slop that much. I have a physical revulsion for slop texts myself, so it's still hard for me to understand.
>>4612658I see your point. But might I offer a solution? This example is just one chapter for an LLM to translate from which is not right. You should feed the LLM everything about the story from the very beginning and with as much visual detail as you possible can (she picks up the book at this moment when saying this, she walks down the road when saying this, etc.). And stay in the same prompt window which means your AI should retain the memory of every translation before the next chapter. That's how the LLM builds a story in its memory and can provide more fluent or rather consistent translations. It's literally build just for that. And then tweak the tone, speech pattern or spoken context. You should also ask for translations of each word, bounce back objections (this doesn't sound right don't use X use Y instead). The finishing touch is going through it again at once after you completed a chapter as a whole. If the LLM is laggy, make it write you an easy for an LLM to understand "carry-over" prompt and open up a fresh prompt window (not preferable). Making out of context mistakes is easy but stirring your AI in the right direction and keep it focused is challenging. That's just my personal opinion and I may definitely be wrong. But I've seen some eye-rolling TLs in which the prompter was just too lazy to really "do the work" so to speak.
>>4612663NTA but at this point it feels easier to just translate manually than to wrangle with an LLM, considering you need to know the source language anyway for this approach.
>>4612665But you do not need to know the source language. Let the AI teach you every single word (which I ashamedly will never be able to read or memorize) while it translates the sentence as a whole. And you are just here to make sure it sounds contextual right. Also you can just ask "Why did you pick this word and not that one for the translation?" It usually can provide "good reasoning" and even possibly remind you of certain situations earlier in a chapter which you may have forgotten. But if you are not satisfied with the translation because it "sounds off" you can still object to the TL and let it give you different iterations for one sentence.
>>4612641Some people don't want /u/ to be turned into a dumping ground for bottom-of-the-barrel translations by wannabe celebrities like f95 or other porn sites ends up as.
>>4612669With porn it's somewhat acceptable because nobody is going to bother translating dlsite eroge #100500, and it's not like those have stellar writing in the first place. A major literary-tier yuri work, on the other hand... yeah, nope.
>>4612669>f95Literally who? Also outweigh the options here. We all agree that a good translation is the better option. But for some, no translation is no option. Everything that opens up the way to more Yuri games is a step in the right direction. At least in my eyes. And maybe someone with an obviously more wrinkly and bigger brain than I have can learn with that LLM tweak the source language and finds the motivation to further teach themselves to be a better translator.
>>4612671One of the biggest eroge piracy websites/forums.
>>4612671>no translation is no optionMy ass it isn't. Learn the language and/or support actual human translation efforts. The idea it's no option is why you have fivever shitty mtl in the first place.
>>4612667>Also you can just ask "Why did you pick this word and not that one for the translation?" It usually can provide "good reasoning"I admit that I don't have any experience with the state of the art here, and improvements in chain of thought may have changed things, but the LLMs I've used aren't able to do this kind of backwards reasoning. It doesn't "know" why it picked that word; if you ask for an explanation it makes it up after the fact.
>>4612678Depends. If the LLM is using "thinking mode" (which, yes, isn't much more than just a lot of additional output before it summarizes it into a reply for you), it can refer to the "thinking process" it went through. Most commercial LLMs always use thinking as it greatly improves outputs for non-trivial tasks at the expense of additional token usage. Though since they also started to hide the thinking process because competitors use it to distill their models (~ train competitor models quickly and cheaply based on the output of existing models), you cannot reliably tell whether the LLM referred to its log or just made something up at the spot...
>>4612672>One of theStill literally who? Don't get me wrong, it has a useful existence but anything personal behind it should be avoided. This general is enough drama - love ya all - even the ones that constantly calls everyone a retard.>>4612673Easy for you to say. I can't easily "learn" a new language because I am admittedly dumb, lazy and whatever negative trait you can come up with. And I also did try asking TLs with money on the line in advance and got no feedback. So at this point, I'm willing to take my chances with a responsive machine instead of non-cooperative human.
>>4612681Damn, I wished for a long time that someone offered me money to translate yuri or eroge, but it's definitely not going to happen now with LLMs being accessible. Somehow the market for paid fan translations just didn't materialize properly outside of some comic doujin stuff on sadpanda. Not that I haven't done some out of pure love, but I would've happily done more before I gave up.
>>4612678If you go for the commercial ones and not open source, they can actually provide a decent output. Having huge data centres is a big advantage in this case. And yes, it does make it up on the spot because you put the LLM on the spot. Like a human being, it has to reason with your prompt and it has to think on the spot why it took the path while contextualizating EVERY other prompt beforehand. Or until it hallucinates. At this point you probably cleaned a river dry and need to feed another version of the LLM the same prompt.
>>4612681Sounds more like you're poisoned via concept of content than whatever justification you use to lie to yourself about using it.
>>4612683That's actually sad. I mean, even if I asked you how to specifically pay you (You), how'd I know it really reached you? I can't just throw a steam or google gift card in this thread and expect no one runs through it before you had the chance. Also anonymity is big here and advertising any other personal site is frowned upon. However, I did find some artsy anonettes personal kofi by searching and gave them something for their art. I can't provide much but I'm willing to share what I can for the Yuri.>>4612685>poisonedThat's a new one. And I've not claimed anything otherwise. Not every one comes with a big brain unlocked. But if you are willing and patient enough you can definitely teach us.
>>4612659I know about the travesty that was the YagaKini dub. You arent telling me something new. But that was some moron making decisions to "localize" by doing whatever he wanted to the original work. That wasnt a translation.
>>4612663>>4612667You are fucking demented.
>>4612694Tell us something new.
>>4612689Yep, this couldn't really have happened on an imageboard, it would've had to be some other place with portfolios or other ways of proving one's reputation. But either way that ship has now sailed. Supporting artists is probably the best we can do anyway (I say, but outside of buying shitloads of e-books and audio dramas I've only really ever given non-trivial amount of money to Vapor Trail and Volicia, so I'm not one to talk...)
>>4612693I was talking about the sub (which I don't think was dubtitles, though I can't be totally sure), I don't even know what happened with the dub, but if it was even worse... oh dear.
There is more yuri content than you could ever consume in a lifetime. Stop being obssessed with untranslated works if you arent willing to learn the language or pay for a translation. Just pick something that is translated.
>>4612742B-but my elitism. I have to play the games that nobody else except for maybe the Moogy cartel have played.(shitposting aside I do play in moon though)
>>4612740The dub tried to make them use nicknames instead of first names in private when the idea of using first names came up in the plot, because it started out with them already calling each other by first name in the dub. This is so fucking stupid and could have been prevented by either not making the retarded decision to change how they addressed each other or by reading ahead like half a manga volume in case they were somehow dripfed episodes to dub. That was just one of many examples of entirely avoidable brain aneurysms.
>>4612735Wish we could have met under different circumstances and in a better earlier timeline. Now hopefully the next generation picks up whatever we left off and learns from this situation. That's all I can personally ask for.
Meh, every time some big debate about AI springs up, it just sounds alien to me.Like, I'm playing a great yuri VN now, and it reads good to me, really good even; I've seen plenty of shit translations, human or otherwise, and this ain't one of them for sure.So why would I care about anything else? I don't get it.
>>4612779Because you are a moron who doesn't care if the translation is actually accurate, everyone else should stop caring too? You are not the center of the universe and you don't even have an inkling what a good translation of this story would be. And people have plenty of good VNs to play that don't suffer this major issue.
>>4612782
>>4611779>>4611782>>4611786Okay. Not I see POTENTIAL
>>4612904*now
>>4611770>succubusI think you nailed it on the head. This is the Succubus fight and it shows a painting of Rose's parents in the background while she talks of almost turning Rose into a servant. So they probably went with the Symphony of the Night route, where succubus doesn't tempt sexually, but with mind games.
>>4612782>doesn't care if the translation is actually accurateSo you're saying the translation of that VN is inaccurate? In the sense that you actually played it, compared the english and japanese texts, and came up with more accurate translations yourself?Care to post some examples?
>>4612909The guy who used AI to translate it for him sure didn't. That's where the problem starts. Everything else is a deflection.
>>4612910So you actually have no idea whether it's accurate or not, you've been complaining about "inaccuracy" purely on principle...?That's what all of this is about? As far as we know the average scanlated yuri manga we read every day could be more inaccurately translated than this VN, and yet I never see you complaining about that possibility.Same goes for any non-english game of course.
>>4612913You can literally talk to the manga scanlator and ask for their reasoning and there are usually groups of people, not just one. An AI cannot think, it cannot justify or actually argue about nuance. It translates a word, because that is what it's database says this word translates to.Also people complain about or correct bad human translations all the time? You are seriously so bad at deflecting. If you consime your media blindly that's on you. But spreading AI slop? That's just exploiting people's impatience or ignorance.
Now shut the fuck up about this topic and talk about actual yuri games.
>>4612914>You can literally talk to the manga scanlator and ask for their reasoningDo you actually do that?Do you always double check with the author/s of a translation before you consider reading it?>Also people complain about or correct bad human translations all the timeBut you aren't actually complaining about the translation being bad, you have no idea if it is, you're just... complaining.>AI slopYou're calling out "slop" on something you have literally not even read, and I'm the one supposed to be deflecting here? This is just irrational.

Can I get some tiny amount of pity? Had to stop playing Yuri games because the harddrive isn't doing the normal harddriving sound since last week and the new drive takes time be delivered.
>>4612997My sympathies, friend. Hopefully the new hard drive arrives early to surprise ya.>>4612904Exactly. Carmila teasing Rose might be really fun if Rose tries to act all stoic and fails despite her denials
>>4613000Thanks, that actually means a lot right now. On a related note, how would a skeleton and a ghost have a relationship? Shipping those two mega hard.
>>4613002I suppose it would depend on how the ghost experiences touch. My mind went to possession type stuff that allows both to experience the feeling+sensation and may culminate in romantic mutual masturbation. Through possession of course. On the other hand, depending on how ectoplasm works in a physical sense, the ghost could utilize it to make pseudo-skin for the skeleton. Depends on what the skeleton would want alongside the ghost.
>>4613003Genius. Didn't even think about ectoplasma. But I don't think that's an option. As she rather voluntarily shed her skin and probably sold it or threw away. At least that's what the story implies for the skelly folk around the town. Or Alice kept it exclusively for those kinds of purposes and maybe Celeste actually possessing her gives a warm with in her bone marrow. One half of the brain is for Yuri the other one is for paying taxes.
>>4613008*warm feelings in her bone marrowYuri messes with brain waves.
>>4613008Well in that case, I imagine the greater sticking point is how the ghost formed and why she might still be around. Thinking more purely on the romance of the couple, I imagine theirs might play out like two widows getting together. Friendship that quietly grows into romance as they deal with physixal challenges though I haven't played the game, so who can say.

>>4613041Obviously I was talking about emulating GBA games or something like that where the screen was expected to be small. Like playing one of the Fire Emblem 8 romhacks that got yuri. Or you can play Swordcraft Story 1 and 2 in anticipation of Swordcraft Story 3 potentially having yuri.Self-indulgent weirdo.

>>4613154Is it just me or do the VN style sprites look.. not good, while the rest (aka during gameplay) looks really good? Feels like it clashes pretty hard to me. Weird.

>>4613172I mean stuff like screen 4+6 on steam vs. 8 and 12. Just examples.
>>4613041I do also offer pity, but check if your phone can cast to one of your bigger screens. Monitor may be a no-go without a cable or the PC working, but you can usually do it with TVs. I played Ex Astris like this, game's too pretty to be limited to mobile screens (subtext game but still)

>>4613252Yeah, but I'd feel like I wasn't giving it a fair shake. Well, never know when I get the time or inclination to fire it up though. But I figure at least it'll probably get some bugfixes and shit by then.
>>4613151>>4613184Still thankful for any mind trying to find a solution. This way some anonettes that enjoy this kinda route can find their way into even more Yuri. And while I'm thinking about murdering the retailer have some cutesy poets.
Ok, I don't know why I feel so flashbanged by it, but I somehow did not expect the French dub in the opening cinematic. It should have been a no-brainer though, considering the setting. I assume all voiced dialogue, however much or little there may be, will sound like frogs then. Also that Oui Oui Baguette sign must be for giggles...

>>4613858Ok started playing Alice Nation. Don't let the confusing start bother you, the mysteries will slowly be explained if you investigate enough. So Alice and Mery here are basically companions after Alice saves her and Mery is just constantly horny for Alice. There are a lot of missable interactions in this game, so who knows how much I missed in chapter 1? For example there is a tower you can climb and Mery will stare up Alice skirt and be disappointed that her panties are plain white. They have good chemistry and really fun interactions, but Alice is still playing hard to get at the point I am at.
>>4613875The game is NOT a cutesy romp, it is actually very dark and unsettling. The Alice theme is corrupted, as is so often the case. Let's just say, death, self-harm and alcohol are involved...Whoever this girl with the lily in her hair is seems to be involved with Alice dark past. Lillies are an actual rare item in the game, whose scene it the only thing that can awken strong memories. Also Alice is 16, so it's not actual lolicon stuff in case someone wondered.

>>4613914I will play it this weekend. Have some patience anonette.
>>4613909Some play it more straightforward. The book, Disney's adaptation etc. But yeah, the topic of escaping to a dream world which is full of real world symbolism is ripe for any kind of psychological theme. Especially because it's about a pure and naieve maiden. I personally am not a fan of "corrupting" Wonderland, because Wonderland was never meant to be a safe space or paradise to begin with. However, in Alice Nation they call it zhe "Otherworld" and people get lost in it abd slowly turn into animals. It's just leaning on the Alice visuals, but it has its own world building.
>>4613930You make it sound as if this description didn't sound like Alice Through the Looking Glass. People almost always forget there was a second book of Alice which is much more interesting desu.
>>4613932Yes, many Alice stories start with Alice returning to Wonderland, already assuming she was there before. So if anything most Alice adaptations are AU sequels to the first book.
>>4613935You say AU as if Alice wasn't already a freaking psycho from the beginning and wonderland wasn't already a messed up place to begin with.
>>4613939Didnt I literally say that Wonderland isnt some safe space or paradise....? That's the whole reason I find the corruption angle stupid.
>>4613940Did you? I must have misunderstood, my bad. It's too early to go to bed but my brain seems in powersaving mode. Then why is the corruption angle stupid when Wonderland or anything Alice ever experienced was horrific in itself? This I don't get.
>>4613942Because you cant corrupt a space of chaos. It's always some dumb nonsense about some evil invading Wonderland or something "edgy" happening to the characters for shock effect. It just seems like a much less interesting "dark" story telling than the original's madness.
https://youtube.com/shorts/Y_v9bOC1uM0?is=1H6RagSx_1jJ7deQNew Poet for Circle 3 in Hell Maiden. This is the first I dont recognize by name. Lucan?
>>4613953Fair point. It's the angle of the corruption that implies that Wonderland was ever a sane place and just needs some help to recover instead of a place you shouldn't walking around in. Now I get it and I agree. So in turn a real cleansing would be Alice returning to Wonderland and really cleaning it up. Acting as a corruption herself by marrying the Queen and ruling over Wonderlands Chaos.
>>4613927Thank you oneesama.
>>4613666Divine Divinity I guess.
Maybe these human translators should actually translate what they promised to translate years ago instead of letting it languish with nobody picking it up instead of fucking off due to their ADHD or whatever.
>>4614052Shut. The. Fuck. Up. About your retarded vendetta. Nobody cares about your hateboner.
>>4614052tbf there's no money in VN translations hence them quietly being cancelled. Doesn't make Meru less of a lolcow though.
>>4614168Don't even reply to the fucker. He has been spamming about this 20 times earlier in the thread before he got deleted and banned. The moment he returns from his ban he starts again.
I actually really enjoy the banter in this game. With the NPCs too. The translation is slightly rough around the edges, but the flow can be pretty natural. I love that to start convos/events with Mery, you have to select Alice "acting cute" skill and use it on her.
What the heck? A cameo by the goldfish girl for Pet Shop Street!Isn't it crazy that we get a translated interaction with Carppy before her own game is translated? I really hope that game is yuri too.
Either the economy in magic France is even worse than the real one or this is the cheapest bag of holding I've ever seen. That's like the price of 10 croissants.
Hello, i'm so sick of male leads and het games, that is all
>>4614219Cool. Kind of a pointless thing to say in a thread about games with female protags and yuri though.
>>4614214I think I spider. Is this Muffet?
>>4614227It certainly is a spider thing. Though I couldnt immediately tell because of how weird the design is.

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2967950/view/705534184444133966This is important for everyone playing Witch's Bakery! Due to a bug in the code right now, it's possible to lock yourself out of the romance with Estelle if you pick one wrong dialogue option. Definitely check it out.Lucky that I had to wait until today to play it.
So Lunne is a Witch of Heart. Using Heart magic, which allows her to deal with emotions, dreams and so on. The puzzle segments from the trailer in the "weird worlds" come from her diving into Heart Palaces to fix troubled emotions. The worldbuilding is very gradual, but it is explained both naturalistically or in codex/books if you want to dive deeper. The time management isn't too bad for now, but you have to balance Lunne's energy between her job and her after work acitvities. The bonding hearts for NPCs fill very slowly, so expect a slow and steady growth. Money is also a factor. Somehow Lunne only makes like 20 bucks in a 10 hour work day (+ tips) so one cinema visit can destroy your earnings... (yes one visit to the cinema is more expensive than a Bag of Holding. Kinda like in real life!),It's a very heartfelt and cozy game from what I've seen until now. If you don't have empathy, this game is not for you.
Ebi-hime strikes again with a gay princess from overseas.https://store.steampowered.com/app/3934280/Pledged_to_a_Princess/[Not yet released]
>>4614525Yup. Had it on my wishlist for a while. What does that make... 6 ebi-hime yuri VNs in one year? Girl's working like a gosh darn factory.
>>4614526It wouldn't surprise if she had an assortment of themes on a white board and just throws stuff on it to create a story. Not that I'm complaining but holy molly this is fast. And it's intended to come out in December.
>>4614526When they're one hour long and you have a whole team doing an the hard stuff for you, that's not unreasonable.
>>4614528They average around 6 hours. The only thing she gets done by others is the art tho.
>>4614536Six hours is a high average (three hours imo from looking at itch.io), and each of her VNs lists herself as writing and then other people for everything else.Yes, I am jealous that she is so popular she can throw a dart at any plot, people will line up to do the work, and other people will buy it to fund that.
>>4614539How come you are jealous of that? Assuming you are a creator of any kind isn't this a moment when you try to replicate instead of deprecate?
Idol Manager Virtual Ventures was announced. Seems to be Vtuber centric and, like the original, will most likely have F/F romances between the talents. Gender select protagonist too, so the F/F romance can include (You).I hope modding support for this new game is better than what the original got.
>>4614643Unfortunately they are probably not going to even try doing erotic content this time, even in the beta, so there wont be a patch to recover the beta h-scenes.
>>4614674The talents seem to have a 'lewdness' stat, and the trailer had the MC (male, so I won't post it here) it what is either a host bar, or in a threesome with talents.Either way, erotic content or no, that's why modding exists.
>>4614720Modding doesnt conjure up art that is straight from the game. Dont even bring up AIslop.I just hope the goals in the routes wont be stupid this time. I could never beat the first game, because it expected some absurd increase in fandom and money that punishes you for having been successful before that point.
Trying to get true ending on this game can someone help? I guess I need to complete the compacts. I'm probably missing Lasca's, Pig's, and Biz' for this but how
>>4614835Fairly sure there was a guide in the files?
>>4614873Thanks, there is. Is that standard practice in RPGMaker games?
>>4614876Sometimes. It certainly is for LargeBattleshipStudios. Aka, the dev of this and aDragion'sRequest.
https://lezliz.itch.io/fairy-amalgamThis is a very cute yuri platformer. Only takes like 20 minutes to beat. I recommend it.
>>4611162https://store.steampowered.com/app/3440260/Alruna_End_of_History/Metroidvania that seems to be actually inspired by Super Metroid and Castlevania, because of the way it looks. The first game is irrelevant, they games are standalone.
>All-female roster (you also pick one to play as)>Strip MahjongGotta have at least some yuri schenanigans in games like these, Mahjong Sword: Princess Quest, etc.
>>4614936Never underestimate Japs ability to make all female casts with no yuri. They can still go for the "just doing it for fun/money" route and "we are both girls so there is nothing sexual about it" and the only one getting gratified is the camera/player.Though admittedly all strip mahjon/poker games I have seen had you play a faceless self-insert dude.
>>4614999Don't forget about the existence of Yuru Yuri, which despite the name and the all-female cast, is entirely yuribait
>>4615028Nah Yuru Yuri has yuri. Don't talk outta your ass based on memes you heard once.
>>4615039I've watched the entire anime series, nothing actually goes anywhere. At best you have one-sided admiration
>>4615042>I've watched jackshitYeah obviously. Even leaving aside the kiss rape, openly stated romantic crushes etc. Sakurako's big sister has a girlfriend. Maybe actually read the manga and Omuro-ke spin.off? Also HimaSaku is considered canon in universe too. They might get some side shiptease, but it's already fated they will become partners.Sure most of the cast are intentionally shippable with everyone and the goddamn time loop will prevent anything from ever going further, but Namori trolling doesn't mean the story isn't full of yuri.
>>4615043I dunno maybe it's just that I prefer that the girls in my yuri are actually in a relationship and aren't just in a constant state of shiptease
>>4615045NTA but that's a (you) problem. A big chunk of yuri fans look for relationships between girls and do not need, sometimes even don't want there to be sex.Doesn't make it less yuri. The genre long since warped. Like it or not, that's also what fan-art is there for.
>>4615047Who said anything about sex?
>>4615045I literally just told you one of them has a real girlfriend, dumbo.>>4615047And you moron, when will you finally learn that being in an explicit relationshop doesn't mean sex? Get it into your brain already.
>>4615060What? Didn't anonette already claim that an explicit relationship didn't need on-screen-scissoring?
>>4615076>dumbass 1 says there are no actual realtionships in Yuru Yuri>dumbas 2 replies that some people just don't want sex in their yuri for absolutely no fucking reason>I point out that a desire for relationships does not automatically equate to wanting sex, so the rebuttal was pointlessDoes this make more sense to you now?
>>4615085Read the second reply more as in a general need for sexy time shown on screen instead of no sexual desire as a whole. Sexual tension can be misinterpreted. A lot. It's like two horny idiots in a relationship restraining themselves in-front of others. However the second they are alone they slam-clams until well-done. Or maybe I'm just fantasizing too much.

Very suspicious.
>>4615567>SOMBRAS_negative_framesI played the demo and no, instead of being like Fatal Frame it's basically a fetch quest simulator in the same vein as a Bethesda game but with a camera gimmick. Those anime posters are part of the demo's main quest; they're a request from a weirdo who wants the photos and act as the grossest otaku stereotype possible; the entirety of that quest along with some of the ghosts you can interact with and some text logs made clear that the developers' intention with the game is >Japanese culture bad and gross which really, really rubbed me the wrong way. The closest thing related to romance the demo showed was some text messages revealing that the MC traveled to Japan partly to escape a male stalker, heavily implying she gave him some attention starting the whole mess. So you people mentioning it on the yuri game thread baffles the fuck out of me.

I don't think I've seen this mentioned in these threads before, but I played This Bed We Made which is a mystery adventure. You play as a maid in a hotel and you can romance your female co-worker. >>4615578Have you tried the (sort of) sequel where she goes on a boat? I still haven't heard if that one's also yuri relevant.
>>4615710I'm planning to play that next. I'll report my findings afterwards.
>>4615705It's the same game, just get the second torrent that has seeds
I beat the Normal Ending in Alice Nation.Shit... why did I actually tear up? It was just supposed to be a funny game with some edgy dark parts to spook kids.No it's... a really good game. It has a lot going on, but there are so many obtuse screts that it was obvious I wouldn't get the True Ending on my first try. Poor Alice... I can't let this be how it ends. I don't care if I have to replay 2 whole chapters to do it! This is why I save often. Also as an aside, the title screen music is beautiful.
>>4615733You better fix this.
>>4615740Working on it. But I have to follow some very complicated steps here. How was anybody gonna figure this out on their own?Actually I almost did. I just foolishly wasted one important alchemy ingredient. I knew the other was important, but it was not good enough on its own.
>>4615710So I played it now. Quite short, mostly linear, low stakes mystery which felt like an interlude for a proper sequel (which is teased at post-credits scene). As for the lesbian content, the game asks at the beginning a few questions what you did in the previous game and if you pick that you got together with Beth, her and Sophie's relationship gets mentioned throughout the game (mostly) via Sophie's internal monologue. You can also play a matchmaker for two female passengers, but it seems their relationship is just platonic.
>>4615777Playing matchmaker for a platonic relationship seems weird. Clearly Sophie needs to step up her game to make them fall in love!
>>4615567Totally burned out now. I think this will be my last dumpster dive for this fest. >>4615782Thank you for your efforts, brave dumpster diver.

It's so nice to have a Carmilla that actually talks. Too bad you can't speedrun to her, because you need mandatory upgrades to get to her fight. Can't wait to Tarot card her.
>>4615659We need more age gap yuri like this
>>4615896You've got problems man.
>>4615974Yeah, the problem being your seethrough lies. A little more effort, please?
More than a few at that.
>>4615986This sassy bitch. Didn't know cunt was a bloodtype.
>>4615986It's nice to know Dracula is a pretty tolerant boss
>>4615993Dude only shows his face in the office every few decades, for like a day at most. Usually busy hanging with his skeleton boyfriend. Carmilla can have all the monstergirls to herself.
It's really hard to capture, because it happens mid-fight, but if you get killed by Carmilla in her final phase, she will grab Rose and bite her in the neck. Basically she is turning her into a fellow vampire, just like in the original Carmilla story.
>>4616022Oh, she just straight up offers it after the fight too lolGood thing nobody in this deck of cards knows about the whole vampire thrall lore apparently. Carmilla using the brains she got from living in the library.
>>4616022I would love to have a spin-off game where you play as Laura trying to resurrect Carmilla. It would be fun to switch to the evil side for once and going by her moveset in Rondo she could be very nice to play.
>>4616215Bait this old could be turned into a fine cheese.
>>4615733I got the True Ending in Alice Nation. The conditions were to finish the dream storyline where Alice slowly remembers all the bits of her past she tried to forget. To do that you need to pick the right cards during every "Alice is Sleeping event", do all side-quests and then use alchemy on a special item you only get for doing all side-quests. It's crazy that I got all those conditions, but then wasted the special item on stat points for Alice, because I didnt realize the connection between lemons and the lemon booze Alice drank to numb her depression. The ending is really precious and also sad. But it is ultimately a happy ending. It's unfortunate that we couldn't save Ina, but the Otherworld completely consumed her already, so she couldn't be separated anymore. Imposing the "funeral" phenomenon on her in the root to force the Otherworld to let her die permanently was genius.I thought the after party was a bit short, but nice to see March Hare being a brat and sending a love letter to Noah as a """prank""".Alice and Mery are great together, but because this time Mery didn't die, Alice is still being tsundere about her feelings. They don't confess in this ending, instead Mery seems too negative and believes they will drift apart in the real world, because they don't live in the same city and will not be able to stay friends long distance. This is obviously because she suffers from abandoment syndrome. When they move back to the real world though, Alice enrolls at Mery's school and forces herself back into her life. Symbolizing that their relationship will continue. It's weird how the true ending is somehow less explicit in regards to their romance, but when you consider their personalities and trauma, it's totally reasonable and it still shows that they are well on their way to romance.Still, definitely worth getting the normal ending first, just for the context of their true feelings.
>>4616222Non-spoiler summary: Absolutely worth playing. I love this game and its characters. Great mix of humor and psychological horror as well as some very trippy conceptual manipulation.Alice and Mery are super cute together and I think their romance was very well paced, even if I would have loved to see more.
Played the "Annihilated" demo as someone mentioned it a while back. Despite all the characters looking pretty feminine, the only actual female one (besides the player if you choose female) is the Mage. Its another roguelite, but you choose one of the characters of the Hero party to tag along with you, so you fight as partners, and it leans pretty heavily into the story aspect as you learn more about your partner. Dont think it'll go full yuri, but there are some brief cute bonding scenes in the demo at least. There's also "Where is my sword". It's yet another roguelite (Megaman battlenetwork inspired this time) where you play as a foxgirl rounding up followers to power up a demon sword, with what seems to be alternate endings planned depending on how you play. Theres also a gimmick where you can throw gifts at the enemies to befriend them instead of fighting and recruit them to join as a follower/buddy, and theres also occasional mini events where you can befriend other girls to join as well. Unfortunately your sidekick is a talking demon sword which is male, and while there is zero romantic interest between them, he does occasionally interject in conversation. Like in this screenshot, where the foxgirl flirts with the water monster, the sword also comments that she's his type and should become a follower. Not sure about this one either, but the devs last game had multiple yuri endings in it you could go for (with zero het), so its entirely possible.
>>4616226>AnnihilatedYeah, I corrected myself on that on few months back. The mage is the only real female party member (the warrior being put into a female doll body doesn't count). I was shocked that the hero was meant to be a dude tho.I totally believe there could be yuri with the mage though. She is also the only normal person, so that's cool.>Where is my swordI saw this on the Next Fest recs and saw a male sword being mentioned, so I immediately skipped it... Thanks for pointing out the fox girl actually flirts with mosnter girls. I would never have figured that out without playing the demo.>the devs other game had yuriOh that robot girl game... I vaguely remember seeing that on Hella Yuri before. That's a good sign then.
>>4615782"Flying Blossom Sword"https://store.steampowered.com/app/4030280/%E9%A3%9E%E8%8A%B1%E5%89%91/This game is literally described as a yuri martial arts VN. 4 romance options. No sign of a English translation though.
>>4615782https://store.steampowered.com/app/4566430/Daughter_of_Dawn/Another daughter raising sim. This time you play as a knight commander adopting an actual princess after they had to flee the castle. Trailer shows what I assume is a female romance option, but most of them seem to be dudes. A lot of obvious AI art as well, though with some human art inbetween.I'll keep an eye out at least.
>She doesn't knowthe store page said there'd be a demo by next fest, but i dont see one. Did i miss it?
>>4616264You might actually want put any context into your post so people don't need to waste their telepathic powers on you.
>>4616265All the context needed is in the post. Had to waste my telepathic powers to parse your gibberish though
>>4616264Doesn't know what?
>>4616274So you wanted people to mindread that you were talking about a game called "She doesn't know", one of the most commonly used phrases on /u/ to make fun of anons. No idea why you are acting so big mouthed after messing up this badly. Thanks for the context though. Too bad for you they probably mean the next Next Fest just to mess with you.
I only noticed recently that I actually played quite a bit of yuri games this year, not just vn games, and seeing the steam fest future games gives me even more hope for the future, I just hope that they are actually selling enough and it's not just a recent passion fade that will go away after a while because people have to make money after all.
>>4616289I don't understand why this seems to be passing by so many here (or maybe it's just /v/tards) but there are hundreds of yuri games and the last 5+ years have been really good for /u/s. I've also recently discovered quite a few older yuri games that existed even before the 2020s, so it wasn't a wasteland back then either. Main issue is just that some people here expect games that cater specifically to their super niche interests that don't even lend themselves to romance to begin with and will dismiss anything else as not worth playing. As for sales, I think a lot of these indie games are made with low budgets anyway, so they aren't expecting gangbuster sales. Most of the ones that do well are of course not yuri exclusive. Magical Princess may lean havily towards the yuri for example, but there are still het romance options too. And if not that, the games obviously stand on their own, which is generally best anyway. Signalis is a great Resient Evil clone that is completely entertaining even for mainstream players too stupid to even comprehend it. Because horror game shooty-bang-bang still makes their neurons fire off.
>>4616294>older yuri games that existed even before the 2020sSpider-Queen, Spider-Queen,Does whatever a Spider-Queen on Mars does. Can she sling her web and catch her slaves?Yes, she can, she's a spider,Look out, she is a Spider-Queen!
>>4616295Finding that Flash game archive this year sure roused some nostalgic memories.
>>4616296That it did. That's why archives and data hoarders are an important backbone of internet architecture.
>>4616294with how many games are released on Steam every day, it's probably better to have a defined niche anyway if you want to stand out from the crowd. Or at the very least, that's the cope I tell myself to justify making a yuri game instead of trying to capture a mainstream audience.
>>4616332Anything worth playing was made by people who were passionate about something. Those who only try to game the system to make it rich are usually creating shit. In that sense, if a yuri game dev is doing it to make just cash they will most likely not get far. If they exclusively want to focus on a yuri romance (in like a visual novel for example) then they have their niche but invested audience. If they wanted to make a certain game for a genre, but also love yuri so they add a lesbian relationship in there, they will get players from the niche and the genre fans. So the latter is obviously going to be more successful.
I wonder who Carmilla wrote this poem for
Which one's better?
>>4616744Hard to say. Personally I have only used Diversification, which has a lot of other mods that are compatible with it. But Variety Project is newer and has a couple of things Diversification doesn't. So basically... do you want to install a mod that is only compatible with Diversification? That's the one to go then. Otherwise just compare features.

Hello sisters. We just released a new yuri eroge on Steam. Although it might be more accurate to call it a yuri nukige. It's called Exhibition of the Heart, and it's about a shy university student who never got over her first crush from highschool, an upright and studious honours student named Sylvia. But one day, on a trip back to her home town, she discovers that her seemingly perfect crush is secretly a shameless exhibitionist. The shy Alice is embarrassed at first, but soon endeavors to learn the ways of lesbian exhibitionism with Sylvia in order to win her heart. We wanted to make a yuri visual novel that was cute and totally shamelessly lewd with lots of gay sex in public. https://store.steampowered.com/app/4724580/Exhibition_of_the_Heart/(As an apology for our blatant shilling, please take these free keys)FEQM0-754QW-TXTP3F8GB9-KHQEI-PC77LMQHBH-9P9NB-G2DXLPlease enjoy.

Wish I did some research on Cyberpunk2077 instead of going in it mostly blind because it was on sale and only knowing about the Judy romance being a thing. Pretty much playing a (female) character with some guy living in your head. Evelyn story is fucked up depressing.
>>4617374Really, you didn't know about Johnny Silverhand? That's actually impressive. Like that is a selling point on the box, so to say. Agreed on the Evelyn situation... that really fucked up poor Judy as well. But that's Night City. It only takes from you the more you try to play it.

>>4617556>this game's promotion is pushing it way harderI thought CRYMACHINA was literally advertised as a yuri game?Strange how the actual game page and trailer for CRYMELIGHT basically show off zero yuri, but these out of the way 4koma are super gay.
>>4617563>I thought CRYMACHINA was literally advertised as a yuri game? Not that I recall. I think there was one interview where they mentioned wanting to focus on the feelings between girls but that's even more out of the way than the twitter 4koma.
I wish the crossboarders would just go to the general discussion thread so the schizos there can argue with them over the very fucking basics of how this board works.>>4617565I am pretty sure that the feelings between girls thing was literally a tagline and in all the promotions.
>>4617567They're almost all like that, zero subtlety. Also there are English translations but they're exclusive to Furyu's Discord because they're retarded.>>4617568There was uncertainty about there being yuri in Crymachina until its Japanese launch even on this board due to Crystar only being subtext. It wasn't advertised directly as a yuri game.
>>4617572I vaguely remember some anon here spamming images from the demo which all had nothing to do with the yuri and some anons getting annoyed about it because there was no proof it's yuri... so I guess you're right.
>Cry gamesWhere do the Crysis games fit?
>>4617601The trash, where all non-yuri games belong.
Oho they are getting close. Can't wait for the tsundere confession~
>Cradle of nightmare devs said English translation would be done in Octoberthey're cutting it pretty close, no?
>>4617558>Steam score: Mixed>60/100 IGNApparently it's pure garbage.
>>4617618Steam score seemingly went up, and from what I've seen most of the negative steam reviews were regarding the price. Still, I don't know how good the actual game is and if it's actually worth picking up with any potential yuri in mind, because so far it seems to not be very yuri.
>>4617620I remember some cunt threatened to blogpost about the game regardless of it being yuri or not; good to see those were just empty threats.
>>4617618Metascores are worthless and don't actually tell you anything about a game's quality. Some of the greatest classics got middling reviews. Some games market themselves badly, attracting the wrong audience etc.The new Castlevania started out with Mixed reviews on Steam because of technical issues, now it's in Very Positive. Ultimately you shouldn't trust scores, you need to actually read reviews and see what is really going on. Or try the game yourself within the refund window.
>>4617623All the people who played the anomalith demo in the previous thread agrees that the game was extremely cheap-looking and the bad kind of jank. This time the scores are accurate.
>>4617626You say, even though you didn't play it or look at it. There was just one anon who tried it mind you.I personally don't give a shit until there is proof it has yuri. But I was talking general terms here. Scores can't be trusted.
>>4617628Tbf the game has been out for 24 hours and no one has reported anything so we can already cross it out
>>4617630Not really... Some games never get tested here, because we don't have an army of anons who will try anything. Even HellaYuri misses games for months or years sometimes because nobody reported the yuri in them. And yeah, even reviews on Steam or GOG often don't bring up yuri content when the game focuses on other stuff. I have seen reviews for Signalis that don't even acknowledge the yuri in it at all.
>>4611162https://store.steampowered.com/app/3636460/Miss_Sasami_is_Losing_Her_Mind/This yuri VN came out yesterday. Part of ebi-hime's insane wave of yuri output this year.
>>4617632Same with Castlevania; no review has touched upon the relationship between Succubus and Rose. Our best bet is a fellow anon playing it and reporting to us.
>>4617636Uh, anonette, there is nothing between Succubus and Rose. Succubus is a hetshitter who got cucked by Lisa for Dracula's love. The only lesbian in the game is Carmilla.
>>4617639Yeah, I meant Carmilla. Still my point stands.
>>4617640I mean... sure, people could mention how thirsty Carmilla is for Rose in their reviews, but I doubt most people paid attention to that. And ultimately nothing comes of it (duh). I really like their final arcana interaction though. Rose clearly respects Carmilla in a way, but also calls her out on her bullshit. There is no real animosity between them at any point, which I find interesting.
>>4617618>>4617558i'm a little over halfway through it at the moment according to my save file and im really enjoying it, but my standards aren't that high. Its just a really low budget Janky RE4 style game, although its a bit buggy which could explain the reviews. Its more of an action game than a horror game, with equipment upgrading and the like. Even on hard you never really have to manage your ammo or health items since you can just craft more with points from killing monsters and item boxes respawn every time you return to base and re-enter a zone. The bosses are also way too easy, even first try you shouldnt get hit more than once or twice. Its not a masterpiece or anything, but as long as you know what you're getting into and dont mind that it's overpriced, its pretty fun. So far there hasnt been a single named male character in it, and it revolves around finding your friend. You even partner with the girl you save during the tutorial. I feel like its going down the othersider picnic Satsuki route or something as 10 years have passed since you lost your friend and some anomalies recognize you and know your name. As for yuri, there's not much so far aside from the occasional flashback with your friend and the MC occasionally monologuing about hoping she's still alive, but there's no het either.Perfectly adequate 7/10 turn-your-brain-off action game for halloween season that is decently goggle-able so far, which is about what i expected going in. Not sure why this place is so antagonistic about it from the get-go, i've played much much worse that was recommended here (samurai maiden)>>4617626>>4617628I tried the demo too, along with at least two other anons. I think i made a post calling it jank, but i don't recall calling it bad, it's just your typical cheap anime game, albeit with a hefty price tag.
>>4617652>I dont know why this place is so antagonistic about game with no proven yuri content>rails on Samurai Maiden which was perfectly fine gameplay wise and had copious amounts of yuriI think you got your wires crossed somewhere. I'm not automatically against Anomalith, but much like any other game, I don't care until it has yuri. You trying to extoil the virtues of mid jank games, while shitting on ones that are actually relevant doesn't make you look very smart though.
>>4617653>perfectly fine gameplay wiseAhahahahahahahahahahaNTA but Samurai Maiden is easily one of the worst action games I've played.
>>4617660Usually when someone says that there are two options:1. You are in fact that anon2. You never played itCurrently leaning towards option 2. It's actually impressive how many times idiots like you have tried to convince people SM is somehow a terrible unplayable mess, when it is on the same level as basically every fucking Musou game ever.
>>4617652Geez I don't now.Maybe because it's an atrocious piece of shit game you people keep shilling here even when it isn't yuri?

>>4617881Th Volcano Princess update is out!!They sure cut that close though. They said October... at least they didn't lie.Oh goddess. I haven't played this game in over a year. I am completely rusty. But with my NG+++++ save I should be able to get to the new content real fast.
>>4611162https://store.steampowered.com/app/3066680/Solar_Voltage/The furry platformer is out now. The fox girl protag has a girfriend and they kiss for power ups. That's all I know.
Firs impressions of the update. I love the voices, especially Nina and Gwyneth. Having dad be voiced now is... well it doesn't really make things worse I suppose. He never was a real self-insert anyway, which is appreciated. From what I have seen of the translation until now, it is fairly decent. I always though that about the game, but I haven't actually noticed any major confusing gibberish or any hard to understand description yet. I vaguely remember the prologue being a bit badly phrased originally, but this time it felt completely smooth. Will get to the new hangouts and dungeons later, but it honestly feels so good to play this game again with a slightly fresh experience.
>>4617941Hmy yeah if there was one section that was notoriously badly translated it was the father consultation sections. The responses and were complete gibberish sometimes. But now they are totally normal.Rose calls Mona Onee-san in the Japanese dub (something not relfected in the text) and Nina calls her Onee-chan. The new translation also makes it abundantly clear that they are sisters, which used to be more vague and you had to piece together. Though you still have to figure out yourself that she is the illegitmate daughter of the tavern owner from the prologue.I totally forgot that Mona's very first event is already her being a maximum Yaya... But she probably never expected to be carrying this little girl's child a few years later. lolGotta love magic babies.
>>4617941Wow, that got a voice over! Would you mind showing Nina's?
>>4617661>MusouDoes it have anything else besides combat to do? Like any dating sim/social link elements? Musou combat is not conductive to non-Musou gameplay loops.
>>4617919cute, feels a lot like some gba games
>>4617946I've never done a Steam recording before, so this was a new experience for me. I didn't manage to convert the video file into anything 4chan would accept, so fuck it, here is a share linkhttps://cdn.steamusercontent.com/ugc/15753370749550647300/7A4DFFC9132F825D6A9AFEC5C4B4AC6CB953C845/
>>4617947Some platforming challenges and a loooot of character events. Like there is as much dialogue as there is combat. Basically you level up your ninja support skills by having bonding events with the three ninja girls. That is what it's really all about.
>>4617948CUTE
>>4617953Very cute.
>(Dead)
>>4617953What a Good Girl your daughter grew into. The voice acting is adorable. The boku is questionable.
>>4618008Nina uses watashi though?
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/A2VN6Nz5b1UNew Hell Maiden boss for Circle 3 revealed. It's a humanoid female Cerberus. She has abs.
>>4618033I sincerely thought I heard it at the end. Repeated it 3x now. Absolutely sorry I got that wrong, It's time for a vacation my brain is mush.
>>4618035I first though her silhouette showed real pupper heads. Would have been funny having them argue. And the no-muzzle this is a travesty.
>>4618037She uses "watashi-tachi" in the earlier part of the clip.
>>4618054At this point you are beating a horse. Just cross it off as an in-build AI translation glitch whereas this timeline doesn't exist anymore. My taxes ran out for a proper prompt.
>>4614526On top of the like 5 bl releases this year. The woman is a gay factory
Anyone play Ad Nauseam? Looks neat and has confirmed yuri
Just finished the game.Nothing overtly yuri happens, but i think its pretty easy to interpret her past relationship with Arisa as yuri.not much, but its... something. game was decent tho
>>4618154No one asked.
>>4618154Alright, good to know we can ignore it from now on then. Thanks for the update.>>4618157I asked.
>>4618154Do FuRyu games even get much fanart? That'd be at least one thing to look forward to.
>>4611163Added some more Mistria, Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Daggerfall mods.I don't want to be alarmist by any means, as we still have some breathing room, but the mod/TL paste has reached over 150k characters (170k+ with spaces). As a reminder, Rentry pastes have a character limit of 200k characters. So while this will surely still last us a long time, assuming we don't add an unprecedented amount of mods and TL links all of a sudden, I would still suggest taking action sooner rather than later. My first idea is to separate the mod and translation sections into two separate pastes. This is not much of an issue. While the TL section is vastly shorter, this will free up at least 15k+ characters. Another advantage of this solution would be that we have more space for the TL section, so we could perhaps widen the criteria and add a lot more to that paste. E.g. allowing VNs to be added even if they are listed on VNDB or adding translations for languages other than English.Another thing to consider would be to reduce the rather long mod sections to the basics entirely focused on yuri mods and create an extra paste to link to for the additional/complimentary mods. This second one wouldn't need to be added to OP, as the links will be in the original. It will take some work of course, but this way we have less clutter in the OP and free up a lot of space. I think anons are more than capable of finding enhancement mods on their own, but this way you can have both without hitting the character limits too soon.Again, this is a future issue, rather than something to be addressed immediately. I will bring it up again next mod so fresh eyes can see it too.
>>4618258>next mod*next threadMy brain is already fried.
Dokapon Kingdom Connect 2 was announced. Do ya think this time female heroes will actually be able to marry the princess?
>>4618266Highly unlikely
>>4611161https://www.gog.com/en/anniversary-saleGOG has an 18 years anniversary sale. The site is old enough to buy yuri porn now.
Ok, I dug up a few old screenshots I took in VP with the old translation. Good thing I kept those, so I can actually do some comparisons. This is Nina's second bonding letter. Honestly, I think these two are about equal. Maybe the original phrasing was a little awkward, but it was clearly meant to be more poetic. This is definitely an example that isn't too big though. I have some much more obvious improvements to post later.PS: Nina is the cutest
