Extremely Racist PicardLAST TIME ON /trek/ >>224021753
in celebration of the holiday today I wish to share with you my fellow /trek/nonnies this gem I stumbled upon while working on my Jeff Collection!>Alien Voices was a project set up by John de Lancie and Leonard Nimoy which specialized in audiobooks of science fiction novels in the style of radio plays.[1] The productions were distributed by Simon & Schuster Audio, but the project was shut down following pressure from the distributor for greater sales and the dissatisfaction of de Lancie and Nimoy at this direction. The productions featured a number of cast members from the various Star Trek series. Digital editions of the plays were released in 2012.This special episode contains the following 3 plays: The Mark of the Beast, The Canterville Ghost and The Cask of Amontillado. This was one of three Alien Voices television specials made for the Sci-Fi Channel.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6uJfDDRaqY

>>224044745Disappointing

I think you guys should recommend your Trek 'sodes most appropriate to watch on All Hallow's EveGenesis is a must imo
>>224042699That sounds awesome, thanks!
hello /trek/I'm wearing my starfleet uniform to the work halloween party and the only one who's said anything is a sixty year old guy who's always smoking behind dumpstersmost of the people here are just wearing hoodies with jason or ghostface on them
>>224046299They all probably think you're in your pajamas
>>224044745Saw comments saying that's the Abrams version too. I don't actually know but if so it's as wrong as you can get it.
>>224042686How do I know if my purchase of this DS9 box set isn't a bootleg?
>>224046397It's definitely the Abrams version.
finished SPIC S3E4. it has its moments, but overall i keep cringing at most of the flowery dialogue and overemotional acting for no other reason than to manipulate the viewer. its so tacked on and false, it drags you out right away. the Wolf359 speech by Cpt. Shaw is one of the worst examples of that. But as i said, there is moments. I like Seven and i like Worf so far. Other than that its just fanservice, on its own its a subpar, modernist show. If it werent Star Trek, it'd be unengaging.
>>224046451the legit versions have a holofoil image of quark on the insidethe knockoffs are plain white cardboardi like just letting the menu screen play the music
>>224046451also before you instant buy it put it in your cart for a whilemost sellers will offer you a discount within a couple daysand make sure it isn't crossing international lines, tariff fees even from canada are ridiculous right nowthe seller is also peddling a lot of other tv series bundlesthe main thing I would ask for is a picture of the set because sometimes retail stores will use security devices that pinch and destroy the boxes so if you can get an in hand pic of the set try to do that before committing to anythingI would say heyyyy interested in your dsn set do you have an in hand pic, then if looks kosher ask if he could offer a discount and bring it down to 45, realistically you could probably get it to an even 50hope that helps
>>224046451>>224046776I did the check, and I can confirm that the box set I bought does, in fact, have Quark inside. Maybe I lucked out. If I wanted peace of mind, I should have bought the box set at Walmart.
>>224046822>>224046651
>>224046776>>224046822I believe bootlegs are also only single layer discs.
>>224046822actually walmart is the worst offender when it comes to destroying sets with their security devicesit's a really handsome set with the holofoil printing, and the series are bundled really nicelyhe has a 99% score on there so if there are any issues don't be afraid to ask for a refund or replacement, it looks like he buys surplus retail inventory or something
I can't believe Shatner outlived Stewart.
hello /trek/ I'm starting a new business as a star trek goods consultantif you have any questions about the authenticity of an item or need help sourcing an obscure piece of merch half buried in the sands of time then send a message to my 4chan accountmy fee is 10% of the value of the items we hunt for, or I also accept goods in trade if the offer is enticing enticing enough
I'm going out early to set things up for trick or treating since inclement weather is likely to not have many kids out for too long. I may miss today's episode entirely, but 53 is a good initial streak. I'll be back with my thoughts on "The Ultimate Computer" when I get the time.
>>224046466The whole third season is almost pure fan service. I agree that there's a lot of cringe and some very poor character development (e.g. Shaw), but it has enough comfy moments and it's a relief after the abominations of seasons 1 and 2. There are also quite a few plot holes that are hard to overlook and which only serve to set up specific scenes, but by the standards of TNG they're very minor. The first 2 seasons really felt like a shitty fanfic that pulled the actors out of retirement for a last desperate paycheck but season 3 worked out to be an homage to TNG, a good sendoff for the crew and a middle finger to the dipshit who botched the previous seasons. Far from perfect but better than the shit we've been eating for the last decade. The legacy of Picard would have been better off without SPIC but at least Stewart died after cleaning up some of the mess.
>>224046939stem cells are a helluva drug
>>224047017Posting about how you're not going to watch something because you're doing gay faggot shit irl is not on topic you blogposting fucking faggot
>>224043720Yeah that pic from early 2011
>>224047039stop apologizing and making excuses. don't force yourself to lower your standards.
>>224046089Catspaw, The Lights of Zetar, Conspiracy, Night Terrors, Genesis
Could I just be a space ship jannie and use all my shore leave time to fuck alien girls???
>>224047039>Far from perfect but better than the shit we've been eating for the last decadei know that, but on its own its still not good. it's like drinking your own piss after a drought. sure, its better than dying, but its still pisscard. and i only mean the show, i love the man, no homo.
>>224047113>>224047259I don't disagree. It's not objectively good. I still think Matalas gets some credit for trying to course correct once he was at the helm but too little, too late. After watching Hollywood run trains on every IP it can acquire for years now while failing to innovate anything good, I'm open to recommendations that will elevate my standards.
>>224046089TNG had some good spooky epsI always loved the vibe of Time Squared.Where Silence Has Lease, The Survivors, Remember Me, Schisms, Frame of MindSub Rosa if ya nasty.
>>224047163Sorry pal, occupado!
>>224043362sad that wil is now posting in /trek/
>>224047624frankly to me it's no different from the first two seasons. it's the same gay millennial writing, the same forced dialogue. bringing old characters and concepts back to shit on them.
alright guys.. gonna watch another episode of Picard night.so far I like the Elven Villa Aesthetic they got going here.
it was a spooky hazard
vgh.... I'm watching Picard.. ... . It is good to see Patrick Stewart on the screen again...

>>224044248Vulcans are several times stronger than humans, and it would be logical to assume this added strength would extend to Vulcan cunt muscles. Therefore a Vulcan female's orgasm would very likely have the potential to cause extreme pressure and possible injury. Not recommended.
star trek sex with david corwin
>>224048758It's fine. It just wasn't what people were expecting at the time. It kinda got a lesser reputation, that stuck with it. It isnt perfect, but in whole catalog of movies it well above the worst.
>>224048758Riker probably could have killed the Bird of Prey even without shields if he bothered to fire more than once a minute.
/trek/ arise
The most beautiful ship. I wish Discovery had made them the default ship when they jumped to the 31st century or whatever it was, just as a gag. It was already a ruined show anyways so might as well.

>>224042699Thank you.
>>224047017And I got the time tonight, because the rain picked up so much that I ended up not seeing anybody else for an hour and decided to pack it in. Only 3 hours, and only about a dozen people. I'm glad anybody showed up at all.As for tonight's episode, that M-5 unit should be called Daystrom's Monster. I kept thinking, even knowing it would never happen, that they'd reveal the Multitronic System is powered by the brain of an executed prisoner or that the Engrams would've been sourced from a mentally unbalanced individual. I suppose Daystrom putting his own Engram into it counts for the latter. If this is what peaking early does to a person, I'm glad to have done nothing of consequence with my life yet.The name for the story, Laurence N Wolfe, wasn't familiar to me, and DC Fontana did the teleplay, so I decided to check if it was another Alan Smithee from someone upset their story got butchered. Turns out it was written by a mathematician who wanted to explore just the potential of the M-5 unit without the rest of the crew, so I presume Daystrom was partially based on him warts & all. Fontana is 3 for 4 now, I can now let Friday's Child rest as a reference point for her quality since it seems to be the outlier. Favorite moments this week: Kirk waxing poetic about 20th century maritime travel, and him holding Daystrom back physically from entering the Jeffries Tube. Also, top notch performance from William Marshall. Oh hey, he played Blacula! This really is an appropriate episode for Halloween.
