gladiator is not good, the script is boring and predictable, the action scenes are terrible with endless jumpcuts, there's zero character development, and everyone has modern american morals
it has the veneer of historical accuracy but is not accurate at all, it is a dumb movie that makes dumb people feel smart. It is carried only by crowe and phoenix's performances, especially phoenix who manages to make the stupidest least complex villain character into something fun to watch.
