Mechanics aside (mechanics can be ported) what scifi RPGs did genuinely wow you?I've really been liking>Coriolis>Mindjammer>Degenesis>Eclipse Phase>TravellerOf those only Coriolis and Traveller have genuinely good crunch but the others were fun as hell to read and steal concepts from.
>>98895547Blue Planet was fun to run. Modern system and lefty author notwithstanding, techno-optimist Wild West alien Hawaii is cool as hell.

>sci-fi RPG rec thread>I've really been liking [all these fantasy systems]hurrrrrrrr
Oh the screeching retard is here. Sad.This is why your genre is dying.
>>98895695What kind of game did you run? I find Blue Planet really interesting but it seems like there is so many options I'm never sure what kind of game I'd actually run.
>>98896114We started with the quickstart adventure and stayed with Red Sky Charters. Essentially I ran Firefly on Poseidon with quite a bit of Black Lagoon sprinkled in - small people caught up in big conflicts, winning means living to see another day, all that jazz. It was a fun campaign. I'm toying with the idea to run the diver campaign framework next, but I want to watch a few gold rush western movies first to see if it clicks. Otherwise it's gonna be the search-and-rescue campaign (I'm thinking Baywatch plus Vietnam/Iraq war movies), or the GEO marshal one for straight western in spaaace.
