If I wanted to take a single Imperial Knight as an ally for fun, what would be a good option? Planning on starting SoB, but playing them like the old Witch Hunters and having a lot of Inquisition units if that matters.
>>98891275Just make sure the knight has their own unique livery. I hate how people always make knights have the same color pallet and iconography as their main army.
>>98891319I love making Knights to match the armies they run with, makes the whole army much more intimidating.

First two codices of 2027are Tau then DrukhariTau are getting new Crisis Suits and Broadsides. Broadsides are getting a glowup, no new weapon options. Crisis suits are becoming a lot more elite, expect to see roughly half as many on the table. New crisis suits have an onager gauntlet option.Experimental tech becomes a bigger theme for Tau, a lot of units are good at shooting with decent mobility. A lot of suit units have better profiles with both the Hazardous and One-Shot keywords. Most tau guns are gaining some AP. Fewer rerolls, a lot more mobility, but again, it's experimental so you have to roll battleshock on your move shoot move and if you fail your unit loses access and takes mortals. Most suits get twin-lance style melee where there are select gun profiles they can use, but it's WS6, sustained. Detachments for more experimental weapons, autopass hazardous tests, and are more generalist instead of being BR reliantRumor Engine is Broadside RailgunDrones still tokens. Drukhari get Vect, a large boat that is essentially a diet tantallus, and Trueborn multikit with Kabalite Warriors. They come with an elf-wide update similar to the marine codex, basically elves remain as squishy, but get 'Fleet of Foot', which is basically a choice per unit per battleround of move shoot move, adv + charge, reactive on infantry only, or for vehicles a 4++ invuln but they can only snapshoot. Druk have Pain Tokens with advanced profiles. The entire army is like 90% hunter profiles now, Haywire is anti-vehicle 4+ devwounds on hunter and much weaker into other units. Poison is hunter-nonvehicle, anti-non-vehicle 3+ and most are going up AP or shotcount. Most epic heroes are more than doubling in price but now hit similarly to primarchs offensively. Covens still neglected. Blasters and Dark Lances are getting hunter profiles for vehicles with dev wounds. Army is more expensive and most options are worse into general targets, but much, much better into their specific targets.
>>98891519>>98891524My problem isn't the opportunistic whores, my problem is the weak willed betas that bend over and allow the setting to be change to accommodate them. We've already seen the ramifications of letting performative males and feminists screw with other IPs. Can anyone here unironically say they like shit like Erda, or outside of a gooner context Transtodes and how GW straight up lied, or how SoB are having testosterone slipped into them like they're on HRT? Once they get bored and leave we'll be left with a shattered clown setting for the funny plastic men painted lovingly and with utter fucking hate by old neckbeards who've lived their entire lives with 40k.

>>98891578GW's handling of it is cheap and shitty though. Their first rounds of animations were animated overpriced powerpoints, then when they got assmad everyone made fun of them they nuked content creators, especially on youtube, with CaDs orders, getting channels locked and deleted. Only the top creators were given a contract deal to work under the direct preview of GW. When they finally shat out phase two of their anims, it looked like something a lazy blender animator could make in a week. It did get better when they forcibly snagged the Astartes guy and hired some Maya artists, but they're still cheap retards that will do the bare minimum while charging people out the ass. The SFM 40k animations blow these people out of the water 9 times out of 10, and for free.
do I get this or do I get god hand?

>>98891432Painting with what? Acrylics should be ok, other oils will definitely be ok but you might risk reactivation. 36 hours in proper temps with airflow should be more than ok. >>98891554You lost and you will keep losing.
>>98891103She's cute anon
>>98891563Global forever cost of living pressures mean that people can't afford the entry to 40kGW wants people buying new models to make moneyThey refresh things that don't need it and up the point values and add wargear so new players don't have to buy as much for an army but new players also feel pressured to rebuy their armies, which makes the game 'cheaper' while also getting more people to rebuy perfectly good models.
>>98891633you lost, tranny
>>98891633>we wuz space kannnnngsI have no problem with this, he looks like a rouge trader or potentially a planetary governor. My problem is when things like gene seed overriding your genetic DNA is ignored in the name of the god of diversity or when every Imperial Guard officer is a strong waman, or when regiments magically have the ethnic diversity of a modern day metropolitan American city, because those weren't done in service to the setting, they were done in service to IRL liberal politics. No one complains about Inquisitor Mordecai Toth.
>>98891629The wash will be a roughly 1-1 mix of burnt umber and ivory black. Over that, I'll just be doing acrylics. Probably just the effects for plasma and helmet lenses, and maybe some highlight touchups.

>>98891674I think they could have gotten away with Creed's daughter if they weren't also making virtually every other new Guard character a strong woman. Space Churchill being succeeded by his Space Ms. Trunchbull daughter is kind of funny, but taken alongside everything else it's just too much.

>>98891678Why would I want an oil wash over lighting effects? The model's already varnished, I'm giving it a full 24 hours before bringing out the oil.
>>98891718That doesn't look too bad, I'm sure that the space wolves are bros enough to make you a chapter servant if you do something amazing in the IG or something. It is kind of weird though that they have wooden shields and axes and seem to be leading a bunch of those new primaris space wolves. Guides? The planet looks snowy so that's probably not it.
>>98891741>Why would I want an oil wash over lighting effects? You're the retard who said you're using an oil wash, I said nothing about where you're applying it. If it's varnished matte then it's probably going to seep in and stain.
>>98891656> Burnt umberUsually dry next day. That's a mineral color that catalyzes the oxidation of the base oil. Just make sure you put the mini somewhere open to dry afterwards. You could put a little fan on them if you really need it to be dry but it should be fine.

>>98891806I didn't want to say anything because it was too easy but having a bunch of superduper genetic aryan space men in hyper advanced armor watching two metropolitan black guys larping as vikings has some pretty funny connotations and I don't know what GW meant by this.

>>98891697It's an IdPol thing, you'd have to understand the intersectional worldview to understand why they do this.It requires a lot of doublethink and hypocrisy, I don't suggest reading into it and rejecting it outright instead. Any worldview that requires un-learning dictionary definitions and relying on dialectics and circular logic is not sound.>>98891725I'm of the same veinUrsula Creed on her own isn't bad, but then with how many characters have been women both on-table and in "the lore" since 2022 it makes the agenda too on-the-nose for me.Either way I'm going to keep playing my 80s power metal BDSM nuns with flamethrowers
>>98891341Here is my collage submission. Since Weirdboi is a psychic. And that bolt of energy. Plus decided to add a spooky accent with that blood and how his eyes popped out.
>>98891799Yeah, specifically it's a metal* mineral color. Manganese and iron I think? Metals catalyze the oil. Its what your commercial driers are. Some resin and a little bit of some metal mineral or other acting as a catalyst.
>>98891902Those can't be space wolves, they're chapter serfs or something, spaces wolves only recruit from Fenris which is an icy death world.
>>98891907The contrast king has arrived >>98891902Space Wolves are serious, groids are inherently unserious because they are akin to wild animals.
>>98891912An icy death world doesn't prevent joggers from existing upon it.
What space marine parts look good with hazard stripes? No pauldrons. So far I am thinking: -Chainsword covers-Perhaps bolter receivers?-Other armor plates on specific marines like hellblasters or eradicators. I like the idea of using the left shin for this purpose so far.
>>98891915Honestly Ork Flesh is still one of the best 1st wave's contrast paint. It still does that Middlehammer darker ork skin well. I really like it.
>>98891923jock strap
>>98891341Also abaut "Joke/reference" If it passes. Does a reference of a paint scheme of some artists OC that I like counts? Or do I need to say the reference it it's not mainsteam/obvious enough?
>>98891918Yes it does, they would have massive vitamin D deficiencies, unless you telling me the space wolves brought these guys from another planet to their planet for some reason.Which is kinda funny.
If they actively weren't just trying to do the "progressive" thing if destroying European culture by inserting brownies everywhere, they would do the respectful thing and make all black chapters recruit from black planets. Like Celestial Lions. Who have decent lore and are kinda cool, but for some reason are not featured at all.
>>98891936Slavery in the imperium would be logical
>>98891937The Primarch's geneseed would override their genetics, if you had a black aspirant become a raven guard they would turn into an albino white guy. Same for Salamanders.

>>98891948not how it works
>>98891944Slavery in the Imperium would be redundant
>>98891937A bunch of pasty nerds in Nottingham trying to write specifically black/asian cultures is likely to end badly. You can end up like Marvel depicting spear-chucker stereotypes with a straight face, trying to be empowering.
>>98891944Do you understand what the word serf means
>>98891972Yea I’m agreeing with you
Let Chaos Idols take this thread!
>>98891966I don't buy it. Just educate yourself, or you know, actually talk to someone from that culture. T. Researches other cultures to be racist more accurately
>>98891113actually their infantry is extremely good, like genuinely S tier, subductors are bonkers good. I think the problem with agents was actually not the book itself but the marketing. If GW had marketed the book as "the home for all your allies" instead "the first entirely new faction for 10th edition" the disappointment would have been significantly less. the problem is GW is weirdly incompetent at everything. like, STRANGELY bad at everything business related. if you have ever watched the sound continuously cut out of their live streams you understand how bad they are at everything that isn't art.So... no one told their marketing team "sell this as a bonus supplement". So the marketing team marketed it as a full army. To a noob in marketing who doesn't play the game and understand allies how are they supposed to know its only meant to be in army in the most vague, casual u supported, bonus extra fun sense and not actually a serious project? Then compound the fact they are bad at writing rules AND squatting an entire army in Deathwatch and you get an absolute disaster.
>>98891932hm... I think I'm going to have to disagree on that one...
>>98891979That works if you're writing about actual real life cultures and histories, but when you start inventing specifically black planets where we keep all the black people you can't really avoid being seen as a racist piece of shit company. It's not defensible as realistic, it just caters to the preferences of a particular part of the audience. Humanity spread across the stars and decided to segregate where they settled? The particular biomes were all far more uniform than Earth and eliminated all but a single race?
The collectors edition of the Custards codex is kino but it's smaller than a sheet of paper.
>>98892001>you can't really avoid being seen as a racist piece of shit companyBy people looking to invent reasons to see you as a racist piece of shit company.
>>98891982>infantry is extremely goodThey still lack serious anti-vehicle options. SoB have the same problem, but at least SoB have the Vahlgons crutch keeping them standing on one leg.3+ saves and 4+ invuln saves do not make me like your unit either.Having lots of infantry also makes the cost problem more evident. Needing to buy 1 $70-90 tank vs needing to buy 2 $60 boxes of infantry for the same point cost compounds more and more the larger the army you're playing.Agents genuinely just need an actual roster with actual units (Repressors for the Arbites would be a good start), or to be a supplement to any Imperium army like you said. This "half of both" approach is the source of the problem. If they went all-in on the supplement side, that could even open the way for Chaos and Xenos equivalents to actually have things like Demiurg and Gue'vesa auxiliaries for Tau, Ork Genestealers returning and Chaos Xenos being represented in-game.
>>98891936>they would have massive vitamin D deficienciesIt does not. Inuits have dark skin and don't suffer from vitamin D deficiencies.
>>98891553>new crisis suits>not a redone FUCKING DEVILFISHthose molds still have a 2001 copyright stamp on them. good lord>hazardous rolls on both the guns and movement of T5 vehiclesthis codex sounds like it's going to be another clunky fucking nightmare that's going to be re-written during the edition.

>>98892024Inuits live on a flat plane of ice. They have all the sun.
>>98892027I guarantee the Basilisk is going to make it through this edition; it's so "not good" that I think GW will just forget about it when they go through the guard list1995 vintage on that sprue. Eldar vehicles likely to stay as well, 1997 for them.
There are many ways to explain black people on basically any planet in 40k but GW does not like to think so their stupid fucking star wars planets with only one biome manage to have modern day american demographics despite migration being something that happens to you and not something you choose to do in the imperium
>>98891718>Classic Space Wolf Vikings on top>twink black bois on the bottomDid Tariq Nasheed make that picture?

>>98892023>If they went all-in on the supplement side, that could even open the way for Chaos and Xenos equivalents to actually have things like Demiurg and Gue'vesa auxiliaries for Tau, Ork Genestealers returning and Chaos Xenos being represented in-game.But that would require GW to do something actually cool, which is utterly impossible. They should also let auxiliaries use the main army rule, or get their own real army rule, none of this "the army rule is they can be allied in" bullshit. I can at least kind of understand why card games do this monofaction gimping because they put out so many different units that it probably makes balancing easier but in warhammer with a fraction of the number of units that's really no excuse.

>>98892050Flamers are still good, but SoB flamers are not the new flamers so they're a downgrade from marine ones. If Dominions got the SoS treatment (even still relying on the Immolator splits) they'd be a top-tier unit in current meta.Meltas are a casualty of the units you'd use meltas on getting powercreep in the toughness stat, coinflip invuln saves and too much movement on units you'd shoot with them. The thing is GW after 4th lost a lot of the guys that actually had an idea about how to make rules so how good this thing end being is not always the result GW expected.Something new is overpower? probably is intentional specially if it is too cheap point wise for what it does.
>>98892178>Shitters because they lose a bunch with their armies and say "it's the tool's fault, not the user"I got so many cheap models when GSC got that odd 70%ish winrate in a single event during 9th if I recall correctly
>>98892220The only units that aren't a waste of points on the table right now for guard are tanks; we don't have enough orders to go around for them as-is, but they're all costed like they have every order available at all times. Infantry are too soft all-around unless they're named "Bullgryn Squad."We don't need to be cutting *anything* unless we get>Hippogriff Commander>Sentinel Commander>Basilisk CommanderAND a new aggressive tank to sit in the role of "damage-dealer but also able to take damage" that the Russ Battle Tank/Demolisher do. The Hippogriff is too squishy and too fast to take this role, the Dorn is too slow and too big and wants to sit back due to its armaments.Getting rid of the Russ would be an entire redesign of the guard.

Marines are going to carry bigger bolters than sisters. A hulking ork is going to swing a sword far harder than a wiry banshee. Eldar in general are going to use different, magical, and probably better shit in their heat based weapons. Everyone makes their chainswords differently. And that's just the lore problems. Universalizing weapon stats causes even more problems on tabletop, honestly, and is going in the opposite direction of good balance. Doing so makes it far more difficult to have each faction be good at the niche that draws in their players while also making them suitably worse at other stuff to compensate.

>>98891553I've been hearing those same basic rumors for multiple editions now. What makes you think this time will be different?

>>98892385>Mass layoffs or something? No, original crew mostly fuck off to do other things. The few old guard that stay clearly needed the other guys to at least guide them>A hulking ork is going to swing a sword far harder than a wiry banshee.Ah you have not seen how older weapons worked? For example Sword was S User AP3. What it made the difference was the user.Ork would be S4 A2 so the sword would end being a S4 AP3 A2Banshee was S3 A5 soo S3 AP3 A5. Same weapon very different use cases.Guns worked rather similarPlasma guns the main difference was the user. Plasma gun being hold by a marine hitting on 3+ vs a guardsmen hitting on 4+ made a massive difference. Since plasma used to explode having the gun on body with a Sv3+ vs one with Sv5+.Also Bolters in marines hands and humans hands are not that different to justify an entire stat line. There is a reason why Bolters used to have Pistol, Storm, Bolter and Heavy Bolter versions.Adding a variation of Bolter for humans and marines forces the game to add another variation for their smaller and bigger versions too. Adding complexity for complexity sake with no real added benefit.
>>98892385>A hulking ork is going to swing a sword far harder than a wiry banshee. If only there were some kind of statistics that captured a model's Strength... Hmmm... I think this might be an insurmountable problem...
Finally, an army I can relate to, an army that represents my body type
>>98892436I find it so strange that GW still uses those model for their publication. The models are not great, but they are not as bad as those images show
>>98892428>Ah you have not seen how older weapons worked?>For example Sword was S User AP3. That works fine. That's still an entirely different thing than "a weapon is the same no matter who uses it"(a dumb idea). Adding individual stats to weapon stats to create a suitably unique profile that's easily read does seem way better though, yeah. I presume they moved away from this to bloat codexes more and make thicker books to justify the insane prices.

>>98892453i never seen this before. i think you’re just making enemies in your head to fight
>>98892453Because GW portrays them that way unironically in a lot of their secondary media.
I don't care who is in the hobby as long as they paint their minis and shower regularly enough Also anyone got some homebrew rules for exodite models? I keep looking at dinosaurs and saying that'd be cool as fuck for a weapons platform
>>98892428In their race to the bottom to make the game as easy as possible for people to play, GW has created issues with balancing and faction flavor that didnt exist before. Yeah, before 9th ed its generally to say 40k was never balanced, but now the flaws with their current philosophy on stats and statlines are really showing themselves. To use that anon's own example, yeah, an Ork has always hit harder than a Banshee. But a Banshee attacked QUICKER, and with the Initiative stat Eldar would often ensure the attacked before slower, stronger enemies like Orks. A Banshee would also be more proficient with their melee weapons than an Ork, so it was harder for the Ork to hit an Eldar in melee than it would be for them to hit something like a space marine. Now with the statlines since 8th edition its more likely that whoever gets the charge will just pick up the other unit. The game as it plays out on the table is really uninteresting now and leave armies that traditionally relied on being fast and lithe as just being weak punching bags.
>>98891071
>>98892413>why is it that women who are into tabletop games always present themselves as obsessive experts who have been playing since alpha and have won every tournament ever?Because it lets them claim authority and their moral system encourages dishonesty when it gains their ideology power. It's fundamentally like lying for Jesus if the bible had a clause actively encouraging it.
Everyone hates 50/50 invuln saves on everything especially when you use a low shot but high S, AP, D, Giga cannon. Instead I've seen the idea floating around that invulns be changed to reduce AP like AoC. So using those new rules, athing with a 2+ 2++ works like this: Against Ap1,2 it saves on 2+. Against Ap 5 it saves on a 5+. 4+ 2++ would have AP1,2 save on 4+ while Ap 3 saves on 5+. I feel like that's a better way to represent extremely armoured units. Invulns representing things like void shields and the like is better represented in wound roll manipulation IMO.
>>98892413I've never encountered a female one of these guys.
>>98892479The Islam has a clause for that. Well, one of the hadiths that is accepted by both sunni and Shia does.
>arms mounted on flats>interchangeable headhell yeah
>>98892451>"a weapon is the same no matter who uses it"(a dumb idea).Have you ever used a weapon? A pistol is a pistol regardless who uses it. Same with a sword. The difference is mostly behind the skill of the user.Guy training every day with the same pistol will shoot it better than the new guy, but the damage will be the same. Main difference will be how reliable they damage something Sword same thing, the edge will cut you regardless but using it properly will make the difference. Also there is an example of weapons. If you looked at for example an Autocannon it would be the same Autocannon if a marine, ork, tau, eldar, ganger, sister, guard or necron hold it. granted some didn't have the weapon like the necrons, but if necron got hold of an autocannon it would be the same As a result if a random said I'm shooting my Autocannons you would know exactly what the fuck the gun is going to do and at best worry about the hit roll and maybe some special rule like the Tau marker lights. Is not like you can't make variants, but when you hear Autocannon you expect the 48" S7 AP4 Heavy 2, just because the Autocannon is on a Defilar or a truck it should not change its stat line.
I miss looted vehicle rules. I wish they'd quit removing faction flavor for balancing shit they'll just nerf 2 weeks later
>>98892486I think replacing invulns with FNP might be an interesting idea

>>98892568>Again, a guy who is 8 feet tall and 600+ pounds is going to use a bigger gun and sword than a normal-ass human.According to the RPG books, main difference between a marine and non-marine bolter is the quality of construction and ergonomics, but all of them were said to be the same .75 caliber. HH Black Books make plenty of the marine bolters have smaller caliber. So how tiny are non-marine bolters suppose to be? Munitorum Manual indicates bolters have a heavy recoil and require a strong individual to wield one. If bolters for humans were made different, why couldn't they make them usable by all? Besides, bolters predate marines. They were used by humans for thousands of years before marines came to the scene.

>>98892755Eldar
>>98892773You cannot be this dense dude. Are you actually single digit iq are you just being this tarded on purpose for "le truls"?
>>98892702>makes one of the most autistic games on the planet lmao no gw has always been beer and pretzels light gameplay.
>>98892777Eldar, as sad as they are, would never be suicidally sad like Dante.
>>98892755The Iron Hands' whole shtick is crippling body dysmorphia and unhealthy coping mechanisms. The Black Rage is more like a degenerative mental illness than a grief process.
>>98892775Right, just because other wargames don't do it means GW has to step in line? I'm not trying to defend James being stupid, they consistently are, but if they want to buff astartes weapons to make them feel more "superhuman" it's their game and so entirely their prerogative. Who gives a flying fuck what "everyone else" is doing? If your friends all jumped off a cliff...
>>98892753The difference is +9 vs +5. Mechanically speaking it would only matter versus unarmored target.
>>98892739Glue them to Genestealers for 2-3 headed versions, alternatively use putty to graft them into some bigger monster.
>>98892759At best this shows things being a gray area. Marines are always going to get the best stuff in terms of ammo and other qualities, and the same principle still applies to melee weapons(and likely flamers and meltas since marines can carry bigger ones). I don't even particularly mind if they do make marine bolters and sisters bolters the same, what I do mind is the assertion that they *should* be the same. If they do it for balance reasons, w/e. 40k stats by nature have a low-resolution reflection of the "lore power" of a weapon. But by the same token, there are also plenty of good reasons to make them different for balance reasons, and this guy tarding out about how they all have to be the same has no legs to stand on in either lore or balance.
>>98892774>>98892769Wah wah wah nigga go cry about it to someone who cares fucking baby

>>98892791No. Making the difference in a D6 system is just retarded, even in D10 D100 like dark heresy the difference is eaten up by the base toughness mechanic.Game mechanically is not granular enough for the feelings of marine players.
>>98892796Okay? There's still a difference.>>98892804Crying already, completely lost and bitch-made. Baby need his bottle? Maybe you can borrow a diapie off the mutant
Which color palette do you guys like? Top or bottom. Camera makes the top colors look a little washed. Top supposed to be purple, chartreuse, dark yellow, ochre yellow, then like an off-white, Wraithbone if you will.
>>98892809You're still missing the point. There are many many other wargames that are significantly more autistic than 40k. Games Workshop games have always been light, that its postured as competitive in the last decade is funny but when people post things like its the most autistic or something are very out of touch.
>>98892817Definitely the bottom for nids. Looks more biological.
>>98892802>I do mind is the assertion that they *should* be the sameOne of the issues of the stat creep is that now the basic marine bolter is shooting like a heavy bolter. (Not exactly the same, please do not be reddit)
>>98892802>I do mind is the assertion that they *should* be the same. That I can agree. Considering the Godwyn-De'az is suppose to be superior to other bolters. Clearly SoB should have the best ones.
>>98892818>There are many many other wargames that are significantly more autistic than 40k.No, you're missing the point. The concept of "a tabletop wargame" is in itself autistic. It doesn't matter how other wargames compare.
>>98892817I like the top more but that's partially because it looks a bit washed out. I think it has more cohesion regardless but the only thing killing the bottom one is the brown imo.
>>98892811Pretending not to understand? In a D100 system the greatest difference is 4 points. So this obviously mean in a d6 with even less variances marines should have a totally different gun than the rest.Mind you that 4. Point difference is just to distinguish the quality of the gun, both are shooting the same size bullets
>>98892828Then don't write stupid shit like >one of the most autistic games on the planet
>>98892822Ty for you opinion anon. I'm going to get a couple warrior test models going once I get them stripped, will try the bottom palette in a couple variations I'm thinking of.
>>98892823I don't even care about the stat stuff anymore but are you ESL or something? >>98892825Lmfao Sure, if you want to wank sisters that bad talk GW into it. Tell em that sisters are too weak and they should buff their bolters with the holy light of the emperor guiding them to the weak points in the enemy's armor or something.
>>98892810>Making the difference in a D6 system is just retarded>>98892791>I'm not trying to defend James being stupidIt's like you're not reading posts and just want to be mad, but I'm trying to tell you it's stupid to be so upsetti over something that's happened and you can't change. Astartes and human boltguns have different profiles, that much is both fact and clearly intentional design by GW. Just because OtHeR wArGaMe doesn't change things. This whole little histrionic episode over it doesn't change things. Maybe play another game if it gets you this cranky pants
>>98892828Think you are fighting with like 4 different anons here.
>>98892832What color would you use instead of brown? Pic rel was my inspiration for the bottom palette but I'll do it a little differently with where the colors go.
>>98892835How many wargames do you think there are in the world compared to millenial exploding kittens and cards against humanity knockoffs? (Hint: not a lot)
>>98892836Yellow can also be a biological color but in nature we tend to associate it with nice cozy things like flowers or sunlight, which is why I don't think the top palette would work as well.
>>98892809Dante is sad because he's old as dirt and isn't allowed to retire. The Blood Angels in general seem to be generally fine apart from the ones who are distressed by the Red Thirst. >>98892755The Raven Guard are notoriously a bunch of morose bastards, and Necrons are all various flavors of mentally unwell and only function by finding ways to distract themselves from their condition.
>>98892832>>98892822Pic rel was the inspo for the top palette, again I'd just place the colors a differently.
>>98892841I'm fighting the US department of education and their inability to teach reading comprehension.

>>98892843That is way out of my league if you're aiming for something that well done. I think the brown works there and is significantly better than anything I can do so recognize the skill involved but have an aesthetic dislike of brown. The purple being the chitenous colour going from lighter to darker or vice versa for the bony plates would look good too and skipping the brown, I think it would be more about if you want the colour to go with the blueish hues or the bone hues.

Played a small 1000 point game at the LGS today. My CSM vs a buddy's Custodes, using their new rules and points. Those 8 minis were his entire army - a blade champion, shield captain (or whatever the fuck they're called), and 2 squads of 3 Custodians. I ran a jump lord + 10 raptors, an apostle + 10 legionaries, 5 possessed and a forgefiend.I tried something new today and went with Creations of Bile as my detachment instead of Renegade Raiders. Not gonna lie, I'm thinking COB is really fun already. To be fair I did high-roll my buffs on the table and got +2" move and +1 attacks in melee for all of my infantry, which is particularly nasty vs Custodes, but still, COB's stratagems and enhancements are far more straightforward and lethal compared to RR's movement and objectives shenanigans. I can't remember what detachment my friend was running but we both had the Purge disposition so we just did a dawn of war deployment and played the meatgrinder mirror mission.Biggest thing I noticed right away is that Custodes are absolutely NOT made for small points games anymore. They just don't have the body count to play the primary and secondary at once, whereas I could easily overwhelm him with just pure numbers. That being said though, Custodes absolutely still rape in melee combat and are basically unkillable, but they were also like that before their codex so the only real thing that changed is the model count. They also lost a lot of their fights first shenanigans, which is good IMO. They can already weather the storm and usually delete a unit on the punch back in melee, they didn't need to fight first on top of that.
>>98893826THE MOLD>>98893820Airbrush overrated glad to see you putting your sovl into it anon
Is the daemon codex in danger of getting canned? Are daemons armies cheap to collect? Also I'm guessing lists that mix all 4 gods are the strongest but it kinda looks wrong to me
>>98893879>I had a warpsmith too, forgot about that. he did fuck allI didn't take a lot of pics since it was just a small quick game with 8 models on the opposing side, but here's the final stand of the game. The only model he had left was a lone shield captain vs 4 heavy melee weapons raptors and a jump lord with the perfect specimen enhancement. My buddy decided to concede there since while he had a small 10 point lead, it was the bottom of turn 3 and I still had my forgefiend alive on 3 wounds to pelt him down while my raptors could disengage and score points for the rest of the game, or just kill his captain in the follow-up combat. IMO there was a world where he could've won this game, but it just wasn't that fun for him since he's so neutered on body count. We'll have to try a full 2000pt game to actually see how Custodes fare with the codex, they just can't really play the objective in smaller games at all.

What are the odds I get kicked out of my LGS for painting my GSC trans pride colors?
>>98893908Zero, most people are degenerate scum nowadays
>>98893906Claws typed this post.
>>98893908Probably none. They'll just think you support transfolx and like GSC. For as much as they talk about "media literacy" the connection won't be immediately obvious. And even if they suspect something, if you don't spill your spaghetti they won't have any evidence of your intent
>>98893913at least they're not racist
>>98893883>Is the daemon codex in danger of getting canned?Always. Daemons used to just be a part of Chaos codex until they got this weird bee in their bonnet about splitting them and mortals up. Who knows if/when they might shove daemons back in a complete Chaos codex (as they should). They're a pretty weak and unpopular army as far as I understand.>lists that mix all 4 gods are the strongest but it kinda looks wrong to meBecause it is wrong. The gods don't like to mix, there's even pairings of gods who absolutely despise each other, and it's sort of a whole big thing that big name dudes like Horus, Abaddon and Belakor have enough swag and pull with the gods that they can unite everyone under their banner. However with the daemons codex of course each god's dudes fulfil a different niche so you are shooting yourself in the foot if you outright refuse to take any certain gods' units.
>>98893926basically it's>Khorne and Tzeentchvs >Nurgle and Slaanesh
>>98893931Wrong, try again
Ok but what about dark mechanicus when are we getting an official codex for them >>98893926Also would make sense if you could run daemons with DM since Vash exists and all. Maybe only one chaos god though like undivided that gives special perk per god to the rest of your mehanicus army. Not that I dont want to see unique demon machine sculpts. Also Chaos bikers but tech priests instead of Marines.
>>98893934>Khorne and Slaanesh hate each other>Tzeentch and Nurgle hate each otherThis the is canon, I'm sorry it offends you.
When you say "4++ is a problem" what you really mean is "superheavies/primarchs/other giant centrepiece models/custodes" are a problem, which is true because they don't belong in the game.
>friends are getting into warhammer and said they wanted to start with some smaller games>figure id finally start picking up pieces from armies i always wanted to paint>remember they axed the old deldar box>see this insteadim sure this box is fine, but holy fuck losing the previous box must be fucking awful, also i swear to god there was a lot more models in the range before now theres like 20
>>98893879It’s really disappointing how the game only works at 2k points.
>>98893952The wording after the greentext makes it look like you were trying to purposefully get it wrong to piss people (me) off, but this is correct actually
>>98893968Khorne hates Tzeentch, he even has the whole anti-sorcery gimmick.

>>98893973REALM OF CHAOSEALMOFCHAOS
>>98893889His mistake was playing all the bad units from the codex. The only things worth playing are Trajann, dreads and flamer sisters. Standard custodes need to drop about 20% in points to be worth it and the generic characters need to drop about 50% because none of them are worth running solo.
>>98893973Ermmmm why is magnus THE RED then? Nice try Malal……..
>>98893967In fairness it's mostly a knights/custodes problem. Sure the game is overall unbalanced at 1k, but most armies have enough models at a low enough cost to at least have a fun time of rolling the dice and fighting over objectives at that level. Like Custodes can't even take a fuckin light vehicle in a 1k game at those points costs. Not that they even have one, but still. I can't even imagine the listbuilding shenanigans you'd have to do to fit a dreadnought in a 1k Custodes list now.>>98893977>His mistake was playing all the bad units from the codexProbably. It was his first game with the new book, so he's still trying to figure out what's worth taking and what's worth skipping. I think he was just trying to fit what he usually ran pre-codex (custodes squads with characters) into a 1k list now, and it just doesn't work at those points costs.

>>98892802Sisters bolters are smaller than marine ones but the same design. It says it in the codex. They also say normal humans can't use them because its power armor that enables the sisters to use marine bolters as their main battle rifle.
>>98894301>smaller>same design
>>98894284I have seen a few decent versions of some specific models around but generally third party eldars end up over detail compared to the normal eldar range and don't really mesh well with their relatively plain look. Eldar don't have variant aesthetics in official artwork to draw from like Guard and Marines do, and instead you just mostly find people making exodite versions of aspect warriors or 60 other variant aspect Warriors because for a long time those models were super old and kind of ugly and key to the Army
It's a slow morning. Getting out of bed, the air is a cold shower after the chill night. I wake up and make my way to the kitchen. There's freshly brewed coffee ready to fill my usual cup. I grab some breakfast and make my way over to a couch and pull a blanket over my legs. I give myself time to enjoy the coffee. Then I remember them. Deathwing Bladeguard Veteran squads. Deathwing Vanguard Veteran squads. Deathwing Sternguard Veteran squads. My good mood comes unraveled. My day is ruined.

>>98894628I specifically avoid scans and clones. My autism tells me to just buy the plastic if it's readily available and instead look for interesting alternative designs that look like they fit the setting while still having their own personality (and satisfying both of those is itself pretty rare and a challenge of a different sort).Doesn't get around dealing with tards at the LGS, though.
