I can't bring myself to care about campaign books that explore only 1/10th of a campaign or rulesbloats that try to pass for content while they're actually paid patches
>>98867768I can't bring myself to read your blog. Where do I unsubscribe?
no offense I think the gargantuan treeman unit is supposed to be represented with the plastic treeman thats now sold for AoSI personally believe this just brcause they have the root eruption ranged weapon, which is clearly meant to be this thing the plastic kit has?granted, he'll look very small on a 100x150mm
Oh boy do I love gapfilling.
>>98867782does his page in the book say anything about what to use to kitbash him?
>>98867813no, which is strange
>>98867782>>98867813You're meant to assemble a bunch of sticks into one mighty faggot
>>98867750why the fuck would tomb kings go aaaall the way to Athel Loren? why bother with the welves? what the fuck did Settra or whoever is it this time lose among the trees?
>>98867864Because they want to pass through the forest? Duh?
>>98867782i think he’s supposed to be represented by the old treemen because they have soul
Reee! Get out of our forests knife ears! We were here first!
>>98867782Those fit on 50 x75mm so the 150 x100 mm base is way too big for them
>>98867782pretty sure one of the two plastic ent kits from MESBG would be fine, they are well over 10cm and come on 60mm rounds normally
>>98867965Kinda curious when and how the beastmen range might be expanded in the future.
You've read the leaks, now read the designer commentary.https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/xuhk2izd/designers-notes-the-river-of-bones-rules/
That was a great ending, il truly be fucking heartbroken when Snorri inevitably meets his slayer doom, he's become one of my favorite characters in warhammer
>>98868082So we are getting new Chariot base sizes
>>98867779I dunno, I think I left the unsubscribe button up your mum's cunt last night, maybe try rooting around in there. Bring a torch, that thing is fucking cavernous, you might get a bit lost.
>>98868020The best range expansion would be bringing back old miniatures. Otherwise GW can fuck right off and leave the good sculpts alone.
>>98868083No need for heartbreak, just don't read the fucking atrocious End Times tie-in "finale" books. Not just for that reason of course, they're fucking abysmal and insulting in general.
>see yt video of a guy opening the new Tomb Kings box>Archers have modular heads >Warriors come on the sprue with the heads already mounted on the body Lots of details sculpted onto the bodies and not just wrappingsRIP naked Skeleton dreams lmao. I still think they look good, but I wanted to make peasant skeletons out of the box.
>>98867782They're waaaaaay too small for that.
>>98868161Why would you want naked skeletons?
>>98868175Nobody does it but light armor is a 1pt upgrade option so you can technically go without it.
>>98868115I've never actually read anything of the end times, mostly just quick tidbits from people talking about it but I have the general idea of what happens, I would already assume anything end times related is dogshit
>>98868187So, it's a non-issue.
>>98868175You can do more with army building flavor (and rules) wise if you have more options on how you build your guys. Tomb Kings are generations of Kings after all, it’d make sense if they were in various states. If those options are available in the box, it simply just makes it more convenient, that’s all. Also the classic naked Skeleton enemy in rpgs appeals to me on a base level.
>>98868211Its funny too, it used to be the opposite. The old skeletons were unarmored, but everyone took light armor, so it never made sense. Much prefer the models to reflect the most common choice.
>>98868220Tomb Kings aren't space marines. They will never get 10 versions of the same basic kits.Besides, are you ready to pay 30% more per box just to get additional sprues for chaff units, 90% of which you will never use?
>>98868249>They will never get 10 versions of the same basic kits.Presumably that is exactly why anon wants naked skellies, to make that shit himself.
>>98868321He has a million third part options if he wants to do that.
>>98868249I don’t remember ever asking for 10 versions of the same basic kits, I was just hoping for more options in the new box. >90% of which you will never use?Says you lmao

>>98867750This is my idea for my Warhammer RPG character:A clever former lowly scribe of the knightly order of the Everlasting Light. He uncovered a plot at some time and an old knight took interest in him because of it, teaching him the way of the sword. The character was so grateful to the old man that he made a solemn oath to also foster hidden talent and give second chances when he can (and of course advancing monetarily and station wise along the way). Of course, this being Warhammer, a lot of those "No we should spare the cultist!" impulses will come to no doubt bite him in the butt. Who knows, maybe he will even give his own order a second chance and redeem them of their curse of bad luck? Or maybe he will be one of any number of casualties of that singularly morbid curse....I got the inspiration in part from the Reiksgaurd Book which was a surprisingly really good read compared to most warhammer one offs. I would even compare it favorably to the Darkblade saga. Most fighters fight competently and the combat is really well written, there is a nice degree of drama and politiking in the background, and it has the perfect mix of noble bright to grim dark that makes me like the Warhammer fantasy setting. The one thing about it is that the characters and situations are interesting, but it doesnt make the Rieksgaurd as a particular order all that individually notable. The exploration of Order structures in super neat, but it could apply to any order really.what d you think?
>>98868752Blorc Big Boss
>>98868795so psyked to get the new box tomorrow and totally avoid the retarded statue shit. Been a long wait for good looking chariots and infantry to build my ideal skeleton only force. Really hope a catapult follows soon.

>>98869251Thanks. I got the idea for the skin from this Ogre color guide.
>>98869250Okay, done that and now I've got 177 points to spend. Magical items on the Champ? Which units to compliment? Increase size/reduce size of units?
>>98868115>No need for heartbreak, just don't read the fucking atrocious End Times tie-in "finale" books. Those last End Time Gotrek and Felix novels were some of the most disgusting and insulting endings to a series I've ever read. Took all the dumb fun and made it a cynical bloated pile of trash that didn't even bother to give a good send off to any character we've spent a dozen novels withI feel the author even had a small moment of rebellion when Felix saw a vision of an alternate timeline where both him and Gotrek are standing with dwarves defending Karaz-a-Karak against Thanquol and a skaven army was the actual finale we should've gotten, but GW forced the trash End Times version instead. Been years and I'm still pissed about it
>>98868448Painted?Probably my Warsphinx or King on a bone dragon.Unpainted?25th anniversary Harry
>>98868851>what d you think?Good book, but I agree, as the book describes it joining the Reiksguard is almost as much of a political appointment for a young noble as it is a military one, so it wouldn't work if you want to play an ex-scribe with a bleeding-heart mentality to give others a second chance. Any other Order would be fine, tho. Allows a fair amount of role-playing since any good GM will abuse that trait and force you to make shitty decisions
>>98869259>>98869250Should I get more Core in there, or just go nuts and stick a Manticore in or something

Idk if I want to get 2 boxes or 1. I think I will 100% use the skeleton warriors and the chariots for a chariot list, but I very much doubt I will need anywhere near 72 skeleton archers.
>>98869708Could always sell the Archers before GW sells them as a separate box
>>98868969Kino, but needs some thinning. Also maybe add some more coats on then metal face plate for the hog.
Finished some trolls. The lucky snotling is there to help them with stupidity rolls.
>>98869708if you want chariots then you'll probably want to do a royal hosts list and the archers are mandatory in the infantry cohort so it's worth keeping them
>>98869810Hairy cheeks
Reading the 6e Vampire Counts army book and I am very tempted to start a Blood Dragon or Stirgori focused army. Despite Counts being Legacy or Legends or whatever they call them, do most people play against them? Admittedly, I also have Ogres and Lizardmen so I am somewhat use to non-supported armies.
>>98867782>>98867813
>>98870134I play VC and they're rad. Some people think the Legacy list is OP but it's honestly not unless you buy a bunch of spam chariots, which is boring as fuck. There are some fanmade rules that are just as powerful but people accept when they're whiners. Those BK you posted cost like $250+ for shitty resin minis on the secondary market. It's so sad because the AoS BKs, while cool, are way too upscaled for TOW.
I kinda like the idea of doing a ghoul army and they're from the plain of bonesThink like the elephant graveyard from lion king.I imagine they're the remains of an empire expedition at the behest of a prominent wizard, into the plains that devolved into disaster, desperation and eventually madness and cannibalism when it was revealed the wizard that the wizard was a plain ol necromancerThey kill the necromancer but subsequently get lost in the plains - something like that
>>98870198The AoS BKs are too upscaled for even AoS. Those things are unnecessarily largeCool as fuck though
>>98870251They fit on current bases but I can't get over how massive they are. A block of them is more massive looking than some dragons.
>>98870198I was planning on either buying some Dragon Prince minis and doing it the old way, or maybe 3D prints or getting lucky with old sculpts. Thanks for the heads up, Anon!
>>98867782I figured it was to support like Drycha's AOS model but that's only on a 100x70mm round base so even she'd look small on a 100x150 unless you made a full diorama out of it. Which you could do for the other plastic treemen.
How're your WHFRP campaigns going?
>>98869259Was asleep there anon. If you want to absolutely crush? No items, give Aspiring Champ a great weapon and shove a Giant Spawn of Chaos in there. Happy hunting!

>>98869561>if you want to play an ex-scribe with a bleeding-heart mentality to give others a second chanceThats why I chose the Knights of the Everlasting light. does anyone remember if there were female minis in the game before 7th/8th ed ? on top of my mind, I can think of the dark elf witches, Alarielle and Ariel for the High/Wood elves, bretonnian damsels and the not borgia dogs of war sorceress characterbut other than that I can't think of any even Empire college wizard who should be half female and half male since both sexes are equally able to practice magic in the lore were only represented by male modelsif you think about it, any sort of female presence among tabletop minis was virtually inexistent before late whfb/aos
>>98870787I forgot to add :also lahmian vampires obviouslywhile all the examples I mentioned in this post >>98870787 plus lahmians may sound like a lot of examples, I stand by what I said, in classical whfb, female characters and units were an exception and uncommon and as for female soldiers in troops choice, there weren't anyI wonder why it changed

I badly want the Revised core book. Local Warhammer store has the Chaos/Cathay set but I think both of those factions are hella gay, and reselling Warhammer you don’t want easily is the biggest myth on the planet. The rulebook itself is online only. I don’t want to wait so what a dilemma.
>>98870944It doesn't really seem like that much of a dilemma just order it online and wait. Or buy the core set and sell the minis off.
>>98870949I guess I could build the Chaos. Though I think the previous Chaos plastics looked better (the new ones are huge and look like AoS). Nobody actually wants Cathay except for tourneyfags who already have them. There are so many fully painted Cathay armies on eBay.

>>98871176I also reserved one box at my LGS. new models look sexy
>>98870787There have always been women models and characters, but they were in appropriate places in the context of a renaissance-esque fantasy world, not an automatic HR department-mandated ~30-50% of every single unit which is clearly how they intend to go in TOW based on Cathay.
>>98870787thats why nobody bought WHFB and it died. they are not going to repeat the same mistake with TOW.
Everyone who says Total Warhammer is why TOW is a thing is an absolute fucking retard. Started playing again and it's such a fucking dogshit game. You don't get any meaningful lore after the faction select. The battles are boring and have zero strategy unless you need to hero cheese. The quotes aren't endearing. If this had been my intro to WFB I'd think it's terrible and never want to try out the tabletop.

>>98871798The difference is you've played real games. The TWWddlers are people who have only ever played video games. >>98868851I call these characters Dunks, because Sir Duncan the Tall is a prime example of it. The lowly brought high, and exemplifying the virtues that their Order often forgets. It’s a very good archetype for knights, so I approve. I think I would remove the solemn oath - not because it’s bad, but because that should be something they do in the campaign. You’re still a Squire, you shouldn’t be making these grandiose declarations. You get a squire of your own at what, T3? So that’s when it happens, and since T3 is generally when the campaign is ending or the character’s arc is completing then the character achieves a cute “and so the trend of good will continues” type beat.

>>98872528Remember seeing that. I have zero issue woth the armour but that hair and face. It'd be nice if the more human features were emphasised. Like non bald Manfred.
>>98872531Nigger, are you serious?
>>98872569I have all the issues in the world with all of it since it's supposed to be a woman. Now let's compare it to a random STL that isn't lame, ugly and gay.
>>98872584Looks like a more detailed Isabella von Carstein.
>>98872641Exactly.
>>98872503im a contrarian chud that likes old models which tend to be smaller. id do 28 mm dorfs idk
>>98872570ded srs
>>98872531>>designer doesn't state what base size they're depicted on 20mm
>>98872584Those ghosts, the sword guard and all of those tiny little details aren't going to survive printing.it's a really nice model, but yet another example of how most STL designers aren't thinking at scale, but rather trying to cram as much detail to impress fools.
>>98872674do you think those lines on the mat are decoration?
>>98872718I thought so as well. From the videos I've seen, you need a very good resin and a very good printer to get that kind of detail on the finished model. Unrelated but does anybody knowwhere I can find a good Elspeth STL? So far I haven't had any luck.
>>98872826NTA, but I'm more worried if their axes and different poses are going to make it impossible to make an actual square/rectangle formation because of everything that's poking out and hitting each other
>>98872531>designer doesn't state what base size they're depicted on or explain much of anything at allHe states exactly that on every single patreon post that showcases a new model. And again when people ask him about it in the comments because they didn't read the post. And also when people ask on MMF. He's one of if not the most engaged and professional fantasy creator out there.>>98872503I printed mine at 28mm and am happy with them. Same with all the other Highlands minis I've printed. Their humans and skeletons match 7th ed WHFB scale within a fraction of a millimetre when printed at 28mm (or, 87.5% of the original stl's scale, for the scale autists out there). Their dwarfs not so much bc they're different proportions, but they fit on 20mm bases when printed at the smaller size and that was important to me.
>>98872718i assume any model that doesn't have a printed version on the product page looks nothing like the render when printed, many such cases
>>98872851They work fine, as long as you don't try to put the 32mm size on 20mm bases. Their weapon and shield hands are modular so you have a fair bit of leeway in getting their poses to rank up nicely. And even that is me overstating the issue a bit, they're not that bad at all.>>98872503Another example of their 28mm scale humans next to 6th ed spearman and 7th ed wizard
>>98872851In fact sorry for the double reply but having looked at the pic of them in this thread, I think that's the 32mm scale prints on 20mm bases, so your fears are well founded in that regard. Put the 28mm ones on 20mm bases or the 32mm on 25s and it's a lot better
>>98872842Yeah, and even with good resins it's gonna be a risky print. I just don't see this model working as anything smaller than 54mm scale. >Elspeth STLI don't know if there are any proxies yet, but there's at least two scanners that have it on their to-do list, but it'll depend on if and when they can get it for non extortionate prices and there are enough buyers in the first place to fund that purchase.>>98872884You're doing what any sensible consumer should. I don't buy any STL that the creator won't show printed and painted photos of. I need to know that the model prints well and that the creator understands it's a miniature made to be painted and played with. There's no shortage of zbrush kiddies and promptgoys selling overdesigned, poorly planed shit. If we give them even half a dollar, we're just paying to flood the market with even more low quality stuff.
How is the game meta in Old World is it still just minimize core and avoid non-ranged infantry go for herohammer/cav/monstermash
>>98873152If you're just playing "smash armies into each other", then yes.I always prefer scenarios with objectives because it encourages a more balanced force with core to hold objectives, fast units to harass the flanks and possibly draw attention. And only a couple main fighting units.
>>98872718>>98872842>>98872884You guys sound like you know what you're talking about. This was printed with a 170€ printer released in 2021 by the way.
>>98873302Nice skull codpiece gay boy
>>98873177We just play US on the objective wins. The whole “muh only core can score” is such nuGW antifun design esports slop.
>>98872528>>98872569This model looks really good with the female Blood Knight head who has half a batwing as a tiara. The bald one with the sexy bod looks actually hot like a delf sorceress with some kind of DoK head swapped on,
>Channeling to incentivize more magic>New anti-magic items that fuck up your dayThis really is just a colds arms race
>>98871912Yah, sometimes you just want to play a full hopecore guy, but you often should put a twist on it to make it interesting. The other Idea I had was a death obsessed confessor-swashbuckler. Someone who fights to feel alive and lives to hear the last words of dying men. He thinks its only when pondering death does one's true colors show and he means to face his own and other with both smile and sincerity
I am going full sperg getting into TK's and figuring out a paint scheme after pre ordering the fomo boxes. Does anyone have a good idea of which paints to use to try to mimic Egyptian faience? So far I have these picked out to try and experiment with.
>>98873645This is the blue/teal color I want for the shields/trim for reference
The new ethereal robes seem like they could be fun on a chaos lord.
>>98873645I was going to say GW's Kroxigor Scales color gave me a good turquoise like what you're looking for. But it's been discontinued, so you may have to scour your LGS. No idea what color would be equivalent in the new range they just released.Taking a quick look, it seems like the Seraphon Blue is a decent tone, but the #4 is too dark and #5 looks too bright. But either way, I'd recommend using an off-white primer. Grey or black will make it too dark. Full white will go too bright. Not trying to shill for GW, but their Wraithbone primer (yes, it's expensive; feel free to find a cheaper equivalent) has always done me good for bright colors like that.
>>98873645>this terminally online nigga has never painted in his life and just bought the self-described "fomo boxes" on top of too many paints. My dude you need 1 teal that you like and then black and white to bring it up or down, or a second teal for highlights if you're lazy. The 78 plastic models you have consooooomed are going to sit gathering dust in 1 month.
Who is your favorite proxy mini maker?I'm going with Highland Minis, I think they remain pretty faithful to Warhammer army aesthetic
>>98873771I don't have a favorite, there are too many good ones but lately I tend to like Titan Forge.I'm currently printing an awesome fucking necromancer from some of latest release.
Should keep me busy this winter.
LOOK GUYS I BOUGHTED NEW PRODUCT
>>98873302see how long that took you? why can't the seller do the same?>170€ printerwich one, what layer height do you use?can we see a closeup of the waist and the sword guards?
>>98873824Yeah it’s genuinely on par with box posting
>>98873824How else do you want me to start into TOW?
>>98873799Based, I grabbed 2 myself. I looked at what royal host actually runs and the phalanxes run like 120 skeleton archers so there is actually a use for the entire box twice over.Working on the color scheme now. I think ill go for the classic teal/red but a more yellow aged bone compared to the classic white bone of the TK scheme.
>>98873847You're responding to a troll that lurks all day and just spits hostility. He's a massive sperg, it's best to ignore him and let him talk to himself.
>>98873825It was already printed. I assume printers make you wait a long time because they have a stupid amount of clients throwing money at them. You can zoom in on the picture fine enough. You can see each little link of the jewelry chains of her corset. That can barely be seen with the naked eye IRL.It was printed with a mars 3 pro and I don't tune anything nor do I care to, I just use the default settings, press a button and enjoy my free minis.
>waiting for it to stop raining all day every day so I can prime my thingsAt this rate I'll finish building the things I have without a lick of paint going on any of it.
>>98873861Do you have a garage or a shed? Get one of those paint masks and get down to it. A little damage to your nervous system is worth it.
>>98873860>freeDid they ever tell you or did you ask what resin was used for this model?
Hey guise. Havent played Old World in one year- gonna play a game tommorow with my m8. Have the rules changed with more FAQ nonsense?
>>98874224A bit yes. Now a lot of melee units got furious charge to compensate for the double ranks if charged.
>>98874239Fuck me. What a mess
Hiya, might as well try it in hereRequesting white dwarf issue jan 2026-october 2026.that will be Issue 520 to 529Wfrp wreckers pointThanks
>>98873861Same here. It won't stop raining until early June. Perhaps when it snows this winter it will be dry enough I can prime >>98873824Kek so pathetic. Nigga didn't even show us the product in hand, he posted a screenshot of an order confirmation
You know what would be a real cash cow for GW? A TOW supplement for faction specific airship battles. Ship to ship action on a beclouded tabletop, or even using giant airships during conventional TOW battles to move around troops, drop rocks on the enemy from above, etc.
>>98869026The saddle looks fine, anon, don't worry about it too much. I'm looking forward to seeing how you paint that vampire, especially his sword. Will it be glowy and magical?
>>98869048To start, the acid ichor gift isn't as good as it seems. While it does synergize well wtith a daemonic mount, chaos characters have high initiative and you'd ideally want to kill your opponent's character(s) in a duel without taking any wounds at all. Give him a lance or a great weapon and 2 favours of the gods instead. As for the sorcerer, either give him a chaos steed if or ideally don't bring him at all. If you still want to bring him on foot, absolutely do not have him use the lore of battle magic and never have him join a unit. Go with daemonology or dark magic so you're at least guaranteed a magic missile spell. Why are you bringing those 8 chaos warriors? What are they going to accomplish? If a single one of them dies, they'll lose their rank bonus. 8 warriors isn't even enough to get the close order CR bonus. Reconsider their inclusion in your list or bring at least twice as many. The marauders are fine and so are the knights. I personally think warhounds and chaff units in general are completely useless in TOW because of how post-combat reforms work. You aren't bringing any units with the mark of Khorne, so they aren't good as screens either. If this list is composed of models you happen to have on hand, it'll do alright and you should play with it until you figure out what works and what doesn't for yourself.
>>98874693The WFB universe isn't chock full of airships. It'd just be Man-O-War reskinned.
>>98874693>a single dwarf airship>maybe skaven>maybe goblins>a pissed off slann piloting a giant hovering zigguratnot many options
>>98875185If dragons and other flying monsters count you could make it work
>felt that the Tomb Kings set was actually a reasonable price>sold out online in the USDamn I hope people aren’t as crazy for it in person.
Briar Bow looks like so much fun. I am thinking about taking a Necrotect with Briar Bow. 75 point unit buffer that each turn fires an artillery dice of -1 AP s3 shots on a 4+ that is never modified.
>>98875277GW has been doing this lately. FOMO online but overly-abundant in-store. Exodites box for Kill Team was like that. Instant sell out, content creators saying "I didn't get one, there is a shortage!" Now it goes for discount on eBay.Scummy tactics. They're basically offloading warehouse space to GW stores and indy retailers while keeping less online stock, which feeds the FOMO market.
>>98874693They should sell giant, to scale ships for each faction. Make them $1000 a pop and throw together some shitty rules for naval battles or whatever.
>>98874521No real life picture of the pre-order only box uh? Now anon... how could that be?
>>98874834Cheers for the input. I just wanted to get some feedback on it because I'm new and don't really get the ins and outs of it yet. Things like the rank bonus for the warriors wouldn't really occur to me too much at the moment. Thanks anon.
Would running a bone dragon be considered tierwhoring if I am running over 160 models in my planned 2k TK list?
>>98875714>70 skeleton phalanxwhat the FUCK is wrong with you?
Which WHFB edition was the most balanced in terms of troop viability? I.E. infantry being usable with cav and monsters also being usable.
>>98875715The idea is that there are enough archers in the unit to force people to move up and engage me and then when they engage they are fighting 70 skeletons getting nowhere.I am considering altering the list to keep the infantry core as is but drop a bunch of stuff for a second dragon, but I think I prefer this list.
>>988757268th. But 8th sucks dick. So I'd go for 6th.
>>98875732Why did 8th suck? And what makes 6th better?
>>98875727Remember if the unit is longer than it is wide it is in a marching column, think about that when deploying
>>988757538x8 for the smaller unit and I guess 9 wide for the larger unit is the only way to go. Undead don't gain any movement from marching column because it only counts in a march.
>>98875185Entirely untrue. Warhammer Fantasy is full or flying ships, and it would be light work to add some lore justification to plug holes where needed. Most human factions have flying ships somewhere in the lore, flying towers exist, Cathay had balloons, dark elves can have gargantuan flying creatures with howdah on back like their manowar ships. It's easy to justify all this is lore since it's not a serious setting>>98875083>Man o WarThose ships were like 1-2 inches long. These ones would be 28mm scale and able to hold all your TOW models on the deck for boarding action and ship to ship combat, and would need to accommodate rules for attacking another ship from above or below
>>98875487Exactly, so no point posting about it you fucktard
>>98875823Dude, no 28mm ship is going to be large enough for that and no, Warhammer fantasy is NOT "full or flying ships"This is a concept for an AoS game.
>>98875714Nigger this has been a meta list for over a year.
>>98875840Did you even read a word I said before typing your response?
I really wish Beastmen had other fluff beyond 6th, 7th abd the Arcane Journal. So much potential for creepy and cool stuff. Rereading it over, its gnarly and just abiut enough ambiguity to fill in space with your imagination.Unlike the new WoC who are now shitty Space Marines up north.
>>98875925Dude, just write your own cool fluff, using the existing lore as a canvas. That's what every faction should be able to do for /YourDudes/
>>98875959I have, just need images with miniatures.
>>98875925Yeah I wish GW wrote Beastmen some propper mindbreak NTR stories of them defiling and corrupting elven women
>>98875868Yes, I did, those excuses and copes are not enough.
>>98875925aos fluff for beastman is surprisingly better than they have had in a long while, I'm told, easy to take out of the aos context toohttps://gofile.io/d/KOho5f3Amaybe it's not a low bar, but maybe it's enough for you
>>98875828>CopingImagine realizing you went retarded and deciding to go full retard.
Vampire Counts> dusty old tomb kangz
>>98872436ok, i get that. Thanks for giving an actual answer, anon, unlike this shithead >>98867877
>>98876111vampires suck!
>>98873152>>98873177Tho does it really matter if you're in a non-competitive casual enviroment? You can agree to play infantry heavy armies with few monsters
Ashes of Middenheim is a great standalone adventure but I don’t like how much of a kitchen sink it is. Beastmen and mutants? Cool, awesome. I love those. Sudden Skaven inclusion? Eh, that’s odd - and it’s right at the start! C’mon! How can I replace the Skaven murder arc without fucking up?
Wait so how many skeletons do I need to play tomb kings?
>>98876357Yes.
I want to get into TOW but I sometimes struggle with keeping tally on scoring points and other shit in different games (they always insist of having different scores during different phases etc).Is TOW the same?
>>98871591Wouldn't armour for an army typically be uniform anyway? Especially if it's the same type of unit?
>>98876383This is the basic victory points, I'll let you decide if it's complicated or not.
>>98876284Oh totally, and nothing is better than playing a good friendly game under a gentlemanly agreement not to be WAACfaggots.
>>98874693...or you know, just bring back Man O' War if you're going to go down that route. I don't see GW doing it in a month of Sundays but still why confuse things?
>>98868851>he made a solemn oath to also foster hidden talent and give second chances when he can (and of course advancing monetarily and station wise along the way).If you go that route, try to be clear with whoever is GMing what that entails exactlyI like the concept, but I can just envision there might be issues what the GM might think it means vs what you think it means. Very important that you both clear that up so you can enjoy the game. I've had something similar in a OnlyWar campaign and just ruined the ending.
>>98876416No, thats easy enough.
This thread could use a hand
>>98871177Skavenslayer is unironically one of my favorite comfort booksJust a fun story where not only each Skaven clan gets their own plot, but also the random pub side-characters show up for the final battle. The schtick where Thanquol confuses an Eshin assassin in the imperial ballroom for a noble cosplaying as a beastman absolutely killed me
>>98873545You could be part of the deaths head. a group of ostermark residents who cover their face with skull masks to protect their identities from the vampire counts. I could see someone who respects the sanctity of final words would have a bone (hah) to pick with vampires and necromancers. Could make him a devotee of Moor too.Think the skull mask would go well with the all black rapier wielder get up.
>>98876696Yah it is a bit vague. Maybe stipulate that if they show some kind of redeeming quality my character is one to let them live. I could see fighting the ultimate big bad orc boss and my character going "nooooOOOoo" might mess things up.But even then, there is opportunities for messing things up.

>>98876930This is so fucking pedestrian it’s insane. Reminds me of the time a skink won gold a few years ago. Just a bunch of unconverted models slapped together. Overall great painting but look at the trees. Just so poorly done and low effort like the type of shit you see at a game store’s table trees.Yeah yeah yeah I can’t paint better, whatever. I just expect more from Golden Demon. You see better daily on Instagram from some random sweatshop. Is GD now an entry level prize for professional mini painters?
>>98875840Lots of 28mm games already use full size ships, it would just be a matter of putting them on flying stands
>>98876691Are you retarded? Why does everyone keep mentioning ManoWar. It's because you're a fake grog and have never played Manowar, which is nothing at all like what I am proposing. How do you think we can have 28mm air ship boarding actions using inch long Manowar ships?
>>98877005People keep mentioning manowar because all gw would ever do with your idea is make manowar on flying bases. It’s a dumb shit idea that doesn’t even make sense for the setting, which lacks flying ships in the way you want. It’s like you’re austisically transposing Warcraft and AoS onto WFB because your special interest is airships.

>>98877084Odd structure focused on geographical features, small amount of generic stat blocks, no usability for players, no maps outside of a kinda crap overview one(compared to the Wreckers point maps or the Night Dark Masters Map) and not much new art.Basically reads like one-third of a book sold as a separate book

It’s so weird how they forced Cathay to be a thing beyond a few lines of fluff scattered in random books.
>>98876383Most TOW games are just kill missions. You get the amount of points the enemy unit you kill is worth as victory points. With some bonus sources of Victory Points as seen >>98876416 here
>>98877139Kino, I will be grabbing this as I am very curious to see how they flesh out Cathay.
>>98877228And that’s why TOW is better than the solo objective play every other GW game has become. The main objective should always be to kill your opponent’s army.
>>98877216Will even the Chinese like it? Last I saw they were gulping up cultivation slop

There are still a few I still like like Orcslayer though. Also, Thanquol is always fun. TO bad his rivals are both kind of live in a stasis chamber as far as character traits go. >>98877472Scalpers are based. Robbing paypiggy man babies of their money is noble work and I fully support it. It's not like they're ripping off honest normal people, they are making pay piggies suffer which is hilarious and justified. Normal people are already hesitant with GWs regular prices, they would never shell out for a scalpers egregious price. Only a truly desperate FOMO faggot buys from a scalper at their rates, and therefore he deserves to lose every dollar he chooses.
>>98875823Every time I see John Blanche's flying galleon stuff I get a hankering to make some baroque flying boats. With that being said there's probably too many models at too large a scale running around in warhammer fantasy games to do what you're suggesting.
>>98877529You crossed the line between being a contrarian and being an idiot. Scalpers are everywhere fucking up most hobbies, it's not a GW only problem. If there's some cool stuff from your childhood you want to show your kids or nephews chances are it's hoarded by scalpers already. Fuck them.
>>98877623Obviously you would only put a single unit of infantry on the ship, and perhaps a leader - not an entire army. Imagine this, a new unit type "Marines" which are mixed weapons, ranged and melee. They shoot at each other when the ships lock together with hooks and ropes the Marines jump over and fight ship to ship with clubs and hatchets
>>98877638Anon you have to understand that the anons itt don't view Warhammer as a toolbox to play out their fantasy adventures they imagine. They have no imagination or creativity like the players back in the old hammer era, how Warhammer was meant to be played. Anything that is not a corporate approved and licensed product, or "official" way to play is simply inconceivable to them, bordering on blasphemy. Look at the responses whenever siege games are mentioned. They won't even consider playing a siege until GW releases an Official TOW™ approved Siege supplement, and complimentary £399 Games Workshop® brand Fortress. Imagine a scenario with flying ships is simply out of the question

>>98877679I know it's a crazy concept to you, but most of us are hanging out in a Warhammer thread because we like Warhammer, not to shitpost about it
I'm confused, are tomb guard mummified or not? Why are the models just skeletons? They should have faces
>>98878095theoretically yes, they're meant to be better preserved than normal skeletonspractically they were always just elite skeletons with better equipment instead of true mummiesI'd bet gw didn't like its previous true mummies and didn't know how to make the concept look better, you'll notice that the various liches and tomb kings aren't actually properly mummified either, even if they have some skin
>>98877084Hopefully the Marienburg book is a return to form.I still say the three Sylvania books should have been one book. It annoys me both from a presentational perspective and a cost perspective they've split those into three.

Guy talks about his airship homebrew idea, they have a meltdownGuy like this >>98877742 wants to have discussion about games and battles: gets ignored Meanwhile this guy announced next gay ass Black Library™ product and gets actual responses >>98877139This should tell you all you need to know about this general. If you aren't here to troll, bait, shitpost then you are essentially wasting your time in this worthless general
>>98878755So this is your latest strategy? Not a fan
>>98878755Same, I have nothing but contempt and feeling of disgust for the posters that call this place home after the launch of TOW
>>98877633Im stronger than an idiot, I am stronger than a contrarian, I'm a retard. And my retard strength is more powerful than anything you could ever hope to achieve.
>>98877472It does not fuck over scalpers at all. The strategy only exists to save $$$ on warehouse space in Nottingham.
>>98878755>They just want to bitch, moan, complainYeah. Duh. That's what being part of a hobby means. GW has never been good and only gets worse. The fact that some wargamers think we should be positive about everything always is this weird new phenomenon. Without bitching and moaning there is ZERO fucking discussion.
>>98875978I remember that when that Warhammer Fantasy mmo got released years ago, on its official website each playable zone had a lore blurb describing it in the form of an universe report or text; one of the high elven region in Ulthuan (Avelorn I think) had a report by an high elven woman who claimed to have stumbled upon a band of beastmen and barely escaped themthe elven gal said in the text that when the beastmen caught of glimpse of her, she could see in their eyes a desire for something else than merely killing and eating her, at least at firstthat was an unnecessarily long post to say that what many of you gooners fantasize about when it comes to the beastmen has already been hinted at in plenty of secondary whfb sources
>>98879345found itthe game's full name is Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoningthe lore blurb I was talking about is here :https://www.tentonhammer.com/articles/war-dungeons-lost-vale>I fled blindly through the wilds with Nunriel's screams a companion to the sounds of my beating heart and labored breath. My mind was two paces behind my eyes as I entered a clearing filled with a number of cavorting Beastmen. At their center was an ancient waystone, drenched in fresh blood and filth, and beside it stood a massive Doombull with the pale fur of an albino. It was then that I screamed, for I had never imagined such a sight would be found in this fair place. The Beastmen ceased their savage dance, their red eyes turning upon me with hate, fury, and dare I say lust. I stopped short of them, my hand upon the pommel of my sword. The white Doombull grunted in amusement, a sentiment that was echoed by his companions.>The Beastmen ceased their savage dance, their red eyes turning upon me with hate, fury, and dare I say lusthere you have it; what you >>98875978 wanted to hear, a (semi-canon) source that beastmen lust after women from other races
I think I might wait for the Tomb King Battle March box. I hope the Arcane Journal is actually good in the meantime.
>>98879504>I hope the Arcane Journal is actually good in the meantime.does anyone have a full scan yet ?
>>98879504Based on the other Battle Marches, it'll be good value. Probably just as good as the FOMO box.
>>98878668Mocking you, which is frankly more than enough to be lauded as one of the greatest posters ever to grace this place. I salute anyone who shits on flyingshipfaggot and his ilk.
>>98879504>>98879548Ehh, I'm worried they'll try and Jew out with it. There's a reason they put 6 chariots in the FOMObox, so while it would be cool to get most of an army at a huge discount with FOMO+Battle March, I suspect they'll deliberately chuck something in there to foil that, either more chariots or maybe some of the fuckugly old bobbleheaded Tomb Guard or something.
Damn you niggas really like the Tomb Kings huh.
>>98879820They still have the horses to put in a box. Though yeah unless they have a Tomb Guard refresh up their ass they’ll probably make it into the BM box as they are. I don’t mind too much, I can just say they were Grandpa TK’s generation, but the consistency would be nicer.
I wanna start collecting vampire counts, wanna begin with a battle march. Will be buying the Transylvania stuff from Highland Minis from printers on etsy, so can buy units is lower amounts than GW.Any ideas for some decent BM lists? Doesn't have to be meta cookie cutter, just decent and fun
>>98879964A hero, one or two units of core, and a special choice is usually what you can fit on 500p and up.
>>98879964>>98879980For example this was my casual 500p battle march list I used last time I played.===Zarkrak’s scouting party [500 pts]Warhammer: The Old World, Beastmen Brayherds, Battle March===++ Characters [173 pts] ++Wargor Zarkrak the Foul [108 pts] - Great weapon- Heavy armour- General- On foot- Talisman of Authority- Gnarled HideBray-Shaman Akrot Spawnhoof [65 pts] - Braystaff- Wizard [Level 1 Wizard]- On foot- Daemonology++ Core Units [232 pts] ++20 Gor Herd [167 pts] - Hand weapons- Additional hand weapons- True-horn (champion) [Great weapon]- Standard bearer [The Banner of The Bold]- Musician5 Bestigor Herd [65 pts] - Hand weapons- Great weapons- Heavy armour++ Special Units [95 pts] ++5 Centigor Herd [95 pts] - Hand weapons- Great weapons- Throwing axes
>>98879989Necromancer acolyteWight Lord20x Zombies20x Skeleton Spears5x Black knights lances, bardingGot 57 points left for 500 so I guess either items on characters or increase some ubit sizes. This good?
>>98880052Battle March is limited to 20-man units so can't increase unit sizes. Black Knights are dogshit. I'd go with full commands and Crypt Horrors.>>98879964As a VC guy I'd recommend against them tho. The Renegades rules are okay but not everyone is down to let you use them, and the army itself while good Legacy RAW is also extremely boring and filled with useless units.
>>98879956nu skeletons look like Grave Guard already. It's so bad.
>>98880062Tomb Guard*
Since we're talking about BM, would this be a decent list?===Orc & Goblin Tribes [600 pts]Warhammer: The Old World, Orc & Goblin Tribes, Battle March===++ Characters [170 pts] ++Orc Weirdboy [65 pts] - Hand weapon- Wizard [Level 1 Wizard]- On foot- Waaagh! Just bought two of the empire battle march boxes I know people say empire infantry sucks but I like itWhat do I do next besides getting a griffon and artillery
>>98880237You'll need a wizard. Some melee cav either normal cav or demigryphs.
>>98877679Not only is that a complete misconstruction of what was said but also extremely rude.I recommend not being such a faggy retard and getting a life.
>>98880059Ok thanks, but in terms of cav are hexwraiths or blood knights good?
>>98880052I’m partial to removing on guy from blocks to fit the infantry hero nice and even in them, doing that might make a more even number to spend on magic and upgrades.
>>98880090Yeah, its a decent little bit of everything. The trolls probably aren’t going to get you much unless you keep them right next to once of your hero blocks though, but trolls are fun so it is what it is.
>>98877475All demons all the time baby
I just started 3 armies and I don't know if anyone actually plays Old World hereFuck
>>98879938What's not to like about the skelly bois?Only downside is no new Khalida model yet.
>>98880484I wish we'd get more top level characters in TOW. Most of them are still around aside from the human characters but it feels like the developers are adopting a 6e approach and limiting them - or creating boring new characters like Frydaal the insert.
>>98880475Collecting and painting is 99% of the hobby anyway
>>98880475Get two of them up to a battle march level and run some demo games
>>98880490Very AoS statement. In seriousness though, I don’t think big characters on the tabletop really bring much to the game. Lower level characters like Frydaal at least feel like they have some upward momentum for storytelling. But the coolest characters will always be /yourdudes/.
>>98880475Idk imo that is fine, I just collect what I like for 40K and WHFB I don't even play. Not looking at army building, just collecting stuff I like and want to paint.Maybe I'll convince a fren that likes DnD and boardgames to give Batlle March or OPR a try.
>>98880608>Frydaal at least feel like they have some upward momentum for storytelling.I'm not sure she does, she can't really elevate herself any higher than where she is now, since we know all the big players for Chaos in the Great War, so she either jobs to another Chaos character or jobs to the High Elves or Bretonnia. We know that her entire invasion of the Wasteland is finished at this point in the narrative since GW allowed Wreckers point to reference her, which they wouldn't have done if the plotline was still going on
>>98880490>I wish we'd get more top level characters in TOW.The only reason we aren't getting those gets is because TOW was still in the testing stages, resin stuff isn't meant to stick for too long, so they made a few irrelevant heralds-types or vanguards leaders.First plastic special character we got was miao ying, second is going to be settra, morghur is rumored to have a huge plastic model ready, and gw is gearing up for engra and asavar by redesigning the entire chaos line around the adrian smith artworks.
How to Chaos Marauder?
>>98880878Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their women.
>>98880624Nta but of all the new characters in TOW, I actually like Kiknik Toofsnatcha. Simple rise of a Gobbo raider who specialises in ambushes and supposedly raised his wolf from a pup . Nothing big or special but I appreciate the lower scale characters more than say, Tyrion or Archaon as examples.
>>98880893Yeah I also like lower level charactersMakes you think about what your own heroes and lords are like, as opposed to some mega wank marvel esque named characterI dont want grand narrative I just want grounded narrative
I'm at an impasse with battle march, I'm struggling to make a list that I think is fine despite having several 2k pt armies.Maybe I'll go with VC? Id have to assemble and paint a bunch of graveguard but they have been sitting in my garage for almost 2 years
Show me your Orc boyz /tg/
>>98880893It would be so fucking weird if TOW came around with its own goblin wolf riders after AoS already did them in what's still pretty much the traditional aesthetic.
