    >that will be £250 please

why are nu40k types so averse to their tables looking anything but SHIT? You can paint most 40k city terrain with drybrushing, and yet it's either MDF HELL or going to be this shit
    >>
    >>98863386
I'm even worse. I use unpainted MDF board buildings cut to the exact same sizes as the GW building sprues you are posting.
    >>
    >>98863386
its not bad at all product wise. it looks decent for what it's supposed to be and lazy people just wanting to jump into the game have an easier boarding point which translates to more overall sales

pay piggies are beyond hope no matter the affiliation but I agree that this is a new low. IMO if you are not able to glue milk cartons together and spray painting them black you SHOULD be bled dry for every penny your stupid ass ever made
    >>
    >>98863386
chink toy factories have better quality lmao
    >>98863496
    seconding this entire post
    >>
    >>98863386
Are these pre painted or did he just paint them on the sprue?

    >Why is plastic so expensive!
... have you seen oil prices for the past 8 months?

Any terrain is fine as long as it's NOT symmetrical. The moment you make terrain symmetrical for "balance reasons" tells me you care more about gay esports waac bullshit than evoking the sense of a real place that really exists in reality. Terrain should be asymmetric and if it favors one player, tough tits, that's how real life works.
    >>
    >>98865738
Kay let me just stack buildings on my side and you can have a beautiful open grassland in your deployment zone
    >>
    >>98864005
    Prepainted.
    >>98865605
    >... have you seen oil prices for the past 8 months?
Next rhetorical question: why won't they get cheaper when oil prices go back to saner levels? :^)
    >>
    >>98864005
    Looks UV printed, not painted.
    >>
    >>98865605
why did we see regular price increases even before oil was going up?
    >>
    >>98865738
Favoring one player drastically is lame since you can't do anything about it, in real life you'd just blow the entire building apart.
    >>
    >>98865738
The only rule my group ever had when it came to terrain was it the tallest building had to be dead center on the table instead of in someone's deployment zone. If you had infiltrators you could still take the top floor for advantage but it prevented people from just stacking their entire army in it.
    >>
    >>98865765
Did you ever play this piece of shit game?
When someone placed the terrain on their own the opponent chose deployment zone.
For regular pick up games, players took turn placing terrain or the guy that did not place it chose the deployment zone.
    >>
    >>98869946
    >When someone placed the terrain on their own the opponent chose deployment zone.
HG Wells came up with that rule 113 years ago.

Clearly this faggot >>98865765 has never actually played a game.

    >.. have you seen oil prices for the past 8 months?
Material input is a VERY small part of the cost of injection moulding. The electricity to run the machine is a bigger cost. For an org like GW that is changing molds in every machine every couple of days, the people do machine setup is a bigger cost than the materials.

Yeah, that's the same tech everyone said it would be ( because it is ) right from the moment it leaked.

You can get a MDF UV printed set for ~1/2 the set ( without a mat/board ) but doing full UV printing on a 3d sprue is tricky and the GW one looks real good for a first release
    >>
    >>98863386

Why are the lights still on if the buildings are bombed out?
    >>
    >>98879620
They're battery powered so that even in an emergency the civilians can still see where they're going
    >>
    >>98865800
    >when oil prices go back to saner levels?
LMAO when the fuck do you think THATS going to happen?
    >>
    >>98863386
I can't get angry at this one. Pre painted terrain has been widely available in wargames stores for well over a decade, and most of its preassembled too. Plenty of reason to see why store owners or event organizers want something that looks Good Enough and is usable right out of the box.
To me, this says that GW finally realized how aesthetically ugly the typical 40k game has become. So they provide something better than MDF laser cut L-ruins. A pre painted plastic L-ruin. The bar is that low, that it's actually a real step up.
AoS, which I hate to praise, at least had the bright idea to make terrain a part of your army with specific mechanical effects and such. This is the only way to make compfags care about terrain even a little. Outside that, it's pre painted or not painted at all. Pitiful, but that's just how the scene turns out when a big share of your best customers don't give a fuck about the hobby side.

    >>98883721
I dont think james cares about your overpriced plastic soldiers looking good. I mean have you seen the latest releases? name one model that actually looks better than what we had eight years ago
    >>
    >>98879620
in the grim darkness of the far future there are no electricity bills
    >>
    >>98885375
The Ravener Kill Team and the Red Terror are OBJECTIVE upgrades over the old models, the Red Terror especially.
    >>
    >>98890746
red terror isn't my cup of tea but I guess take it or leave it. the raveners on the other hand are the definite proof that even nids can suffer from detail overload
    >>
    >>98885375
Red Corsairs are an awesome take on csm in my opinion. And i would also rate the plastic terminators and scouts as better as their previous versions. (normal as well as the space wolf versions)
    >>
    >>98879620
    The Omnissiah wills it.
    >>
    >>98865765
Most games have some manner of deployment or terrain selection rules.
    >>
    >>98891334
the new terminators are awful and you should feel awful for this opinion
    >>
    >>98890746
Red Terror looks nice (if oversized, but everything is nowadays), but the new Raveners look like hot garbage. Could be made decent with half the details shaved off, but GW'd probably try to make me pay extra for it, so fuck them
    >>
    >>98885375

Some of us don't play marines and play cool factions, getting actually good releases. Sucks to be a primaris cuck.
    >>
    >>98898062
I play orks and fucking hate the new releases. the truck looks like a fisherprice toy, the boys look blocky and too square, the grots somehow look even more semitic and the weirdboy genuinely looks ai generated (I hate it so much it's unreal, old model is still miles better despite shitty resin), not to say anything about the abundance of tactical rocks for no good reason. there are very few good models left overall. my shitty kitbashes look better compared to some of the new slop
