>>98858506... I actually... have just been in a pathfinder 1e mood for a while recently. It's just the best for crunchy dungeonpunk and 5e tards avoid it, so these days it's just such a superior experience I have no incentive to ever have to tolerate 5e shit. It's as if I've rediscovered my love of tabletop RPGs or something. It's weird how refreshing and clean and just fucking fun it is without wizards of the fucking coast. Not to mention free. Like literally just free.
>>98858506>What games have you been running/playing recently?I've started running dnd 3.5 recently, it's been over 10 years since I've last played that. It feels good to be back in the saddle.

>>98865147Well now, that's pretty bold.

>>98865147>>98867296Just giving my Anonymous endorsement to this man. Great GM, Great Artist, Great Player

>>98858506>What games have you been running/playing recently?None, I don't know people to play with IRL and online never works out since it doesn't have the fun social atmosphere of actually being there in person.
>Player or GMGM>Preferred System(s)OSR alike (I did the classic ORS thing of taking rules and systems I like from many OSR games but I pulled from a few non OSR d20 games as well) (in order of amount of content pulled, LotFP, DCC, DnD RC, 13th age, The Black Hack, ect.)>Schedule/Times Available (include timezone)3:30pm EST every Saturday if enough players RSVP, no worries if you can't make a session though.>Voice or TextVoice>Method(s) of Play (Skype, Discord, IRC, roll20, etc)Discord, Theater of the Mind>Tone/Theme PreferredClassic fantasy, sometimes funny, sometimes serious, high death if the players aren't careful, low-mid death if they are.>Contact InfoSmashed on discord>Other NotesFully fleshed out KotBL to start. The campaign as a whole is a sandbox although there might be hooks for one or two session adventures that lean a bit more railroady, you will have to (both literally or figuratively) explore the sandbox to find most of those though.I will not giving a ton of info to the players about how the system is working, in a super old school style. Players still roll and have a sheet but you will not know everything that is going on in the rules. It will probably be rather lethal if you don't take things slowTHIS IS NOT 5e OR ANYTHING CLOSE, if you come in assuming that it is like 5e you will be wrong. The game has been going for a bit now, players adding and dropping as time has gone by (more have added than have dropped). The game is just getting into the meat and potatoes of things though. They only first went into the caves of chaos last session.
>>98875000Sounds great anon. Would love to join.Timezone just doesn't work out for me.I guess you don't know of similar games on a different day?

>>98897473with a little voice training you might not be so embarrassed to speak
>>98893943How do you intend to run a megadungeon in b/x without a vtt? You're saying you don't even have a damn map of "your dungeon"? It sounds like you don't actually have a dungeon. Mega or otherwise. In which case, you aren't running a megadungeon, and you're not using b/x, you're just a lazy bullshit queen. No one has time for that bullshit.

Play-by-Post>Method(s) of Play (Skype, Discord, IRC, roll20, etc)100% through Discord, dedicated server for the game.>Tone/Theme PreferredAdventurous. Typical teens-given-pokédex-and-a-starter-and-pushed-into the wild. Will be VERY narrative driven. Expect at least a week of back-and-forth before even getting your starter. I did run such a game before, 1-on-1, and can have it translated to English to give you an idea upon request.>Contact InfoOn Discord: dasfovar>Other NotesThis is ideal for someone with free time on its lunch breaks, and will definitely occupy me during mine. You will have access to all rules, but learning them will actually be optional: I really don't mind running the crunch. In facts, I am more interested that, if your character is a computer geek, that you get your computer stuff right than my rules. I'll manage.I do not plan to touch subjects that would require a consent form / XCard, but I want the freedom to go there if the story takes us. Evil is defined by its actions, so things like slavery and bigotry can be there to be opposed.Similarly, leave out-of-universe politics out of the game: Your character is twelve anyways. If you want your character to behave in an uncommon way you find moral (e.g.: Vegan, or devout religious), that is 100% allowed, but be aware this might give you extra obstacles and a very occasional opportunity (Carnivorous Pokémon might get malnourished, but some people might find your dedication worthy of praises and some accommodation). My own region.
>>98900063I'm interested but feel I need to ask a few basic questions others may also appreciate seeing the answers to.First, would you be willing to consider older characters? I don't really want to roleplay an actual child, but a teenager or just an adult would be fine. I figure this could come either in the form of a trainer leaving at a later age or someone with other goals that are appropriate for the setting (Rangers, scientists, etc.).Could you tell us a little about how "gamified" it is? That is, are pokemon just used for battling primarily like in the games, or generally companions, wild animals, and integrated into workplaces and so on like in other forms of the media? How dark is it; are injuries serious, or do they largely disappear with a potion spray bottle? Do wild pokemon eat and/or kill each other? I assume yes from the carnivorous bit, but that's more grounded/realistic than what is often depicted. Finally, when you say narrative driven, can you expound upon whether you mean plot or characters?
>>98901777> First, would you be willing to consider older characters? Premise is "friends at the end of a school year", and the Pokémon Adventure as a pilgrimage.> (...) are pokemon just used for battling primarily like in the games (...)?Other medias. Percentage-wise, Pokémon will be mostly treated like work animals and domesticated animals. A few people, sometimes highly-regarded, sometimes regarded as idealistic, treat them as equals. > How dark is it; are injuries serious, or do they largely disappear with a potion spray bottle? Both will exist. There is a damage threshold that:- Before you reach, damage is superficial.- When you first reach / go beyond, the controlling player / GM can get the character to faint safely.- if you get damaged while already at it, or beyond, wounds can become more serious / lead to death. To be clear, fainting itself don't provide protection, but the free Pokémon recall, or the presence of friendlies still fighting, might.> Do wild pokemon eat and/or kill each other?Absolutely. Some will hunt humans too. They're rare, but they're there.> Finally, when you say narrative driven, can you expound upon whether you mean plot or characters? The plot will provide a structure, especially during the introduction. Otherwise, it will be strongly linked to your character. Expect me to roleplay your family members, your non-pokémon-focused friends, etc. It is not a vidya, the town you'll start in will have the Bug Gym, but you can do it last, and teams will be adjusted willingly, with in-game justifications, to your number of badges.
these dead ass threads just make me sad, man
>>98902970Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately I really can't see myself enjoying roleplaying as a twelve year old kid.
>>98903161They aren't dead. It's just that the groups who advertise they have room available get filled quickly. These aren't discussion threads, so they're not meant to be cluttered with shitpost culture war slop.If you are sad because you want to see lots of games advertised, you could run a game and advertise to get players here. But if you saw a lot of ads, you should interpret that as meaning a lot of churn is happening, which ultimately means either most groups are unstable and collapse quickly (which is true for D&D specifically) or that there's a sudden and huge increase in the hobby's population generally (which won't happen).Lurk moar, anon. You might learn something.
>>98903184Seems like a few ads here are relying on in-thread engagement as opposed to discord or email, and not much dialogue is happening. I guess that just means the threads are bad ways of fishing for contacts.
>>98903200discord cliques anon
>>98903200>I guess that just means the threads are bad ways of fishing for contacts.Yeah I got way more replies when I simply did a lfg on roll20
>>98903200Why would people want to play with a GM who can't even create a burner email or something for direct contact?
>>98903181No problem. I'd much rather that than you saying yes and leaving a month in for the exact same reason. I hope you find a game you can enjoy.
>>98903998People advert their games on multiple platforms.
>>98903184>They aren't dead.Newfag, these threads used to be far livelier.
