Oh yeah in case you guys missed it from the previous thread it seems celly prime is getting a new model at some point.Really assumed he'd be a goner next edition desu. Never seen anybody care about him despite essentially being the stormie primarch equivalent.
>>98857616Why would you even consider such a retarded take?
>Still missing Realmgate Wars campaign books to complete my physical 1st edition collectionDamn, I can only find Italian ones for some reason. I'm very happy about finding two complete sets of Gran Alliance books for cheap though. I have to find a decent shop to cut one set for me and make high-res scans.
>>98857621His head will be cut off and he'll replace it with the Hammer. Ghal Maraz is now fully in charge of the body
>>98857621>Released 11 years ago as a centrepiece for the posterboy faction and THE icon of the brand new setting and game>GW did literally nothing with himWhat the fuck were they thinking when they came up with Celestant-Prime? What was the point of introducing a big-ass flashy model for the most powerful character of the protagonist faction if no follow-up was prepared at all? I'm actually surprised he was not killed offstage during the 3-4e transition period.
>>98857664It's so funny how with every new release GW shows they peaked with Paladins back then. Easily the best SCE sculpts, incredibly iconic. They nailed everything with them - scale, proportions, bling, modularity. Pure kino.

>>98857673Always overshadowed by vandus honestly
>>98857700I hate Endless Spells and Faction Terrain like you wouldn't believe. Introduction of ES is the only thing I don't like about the 2nd edition.
>>98857714I think that ES are a cool mechanic but faction terrain is half-baked at best. It's just a unit with no movement and an ability. Are you telling me that orruks want in ambush but they still build a fucking tower? Some of them should only be available for the defender, maybe even on the objective wholly within their field. Summoned FT gets a pass
>>98857673>What the fuck were they thinking when they came up with Celestant-Prime?>chaos has archaon>death has nagash>(nobody cares about destruction)>order has... it should have sigmar but we don't want to blow our cards too early so we can't have sigmar, so we need a guy>it has to be a stormcast>it has to wield ghal maraz>the model must be huge>but we don't want to fall again for the scale creep of primarchs>and also it can't be on a mount because we want to sell multiple copies of the kit for stormcasts on dragons>so it must have wings and swirly magic to bloat up the price >the specifics of the design don't matter>use the stock standard look but cover it in whatever

It's a shame, since they're leaning away from the importance of living sacrifices on ziggurats in Seraphon, and it's a very khornate theme. Realistically though the battle line just needs to be redone with modern aesthetics. They've got the old marauder/kairics "action figure" poses and muscles.

>>98858051>so the four years before that is irrelevantno, it's not, that doesn't follow but if you really want to take this road and say that the existence of the runedaughter matters more because she existed longer than bael existed without her then I want to see you be critical of morga because glittermaw existed without her for a way larger portion of aosof course you won't do that because you're not just retarded, you're first and foremost disingenuous in your arguments

>>98858075They're stonearms thank you very much.
>>98858095>>98858115i would have less issues with baels deaths if they actually gave a model to the new fyrequeen who's the central figure for brokering the alliance between khazalites and fyreslayers. its very strange that she's so central to the new battletomes lore, but absent in the model range.they really should have put the effort in to give fyreslayers a few new units. a new big named character and some kind of medium unit like cavalry or magma elementals or something. or just make that new character with the droth into a squad instead with a packmaster and 3 juvenile droths. just like what they did for ogres. they squatted a ton of shit, but then they also released a bunch more including several new units for BOTH beastclaw and gutbusters, each having their own big fuckoff new named characters on pieplate bases. thats how you do a full refresh without leaving your player base feeling like half of it is twisting in the wind.

>>98858175Why do Chorfs turn to stone if Duardin can be wizards?
>>98858303
>>98858316They do say man must carve his own stone.
>>98858316sounds like the stone thing is specifically to do with power gained from hashut.but the question i think remains why can the khazalites cast at all if wizardy is somethings dwarfs normally cannot do without the aid of a god? i guess its possible that the gods are enabling the khazalites spellcasting to work and since they arent corrupt chaos gods their support doesnt come at a faustian bargain, but i didnt see a mention of that in the runes. the runewrites lore blurb sounds like they learn arcane magic the same as any other wizard, through study and practice. but the kharadrons cant use magic unless they bottle it in a contraption that uses it for them. its just a very strange discontinuity of their own lores logic for what seems to be the sake of ease of gameplay design so they dont have to make runes their own thing, and can just use the existing magic system instead. a lore breaking cop out for design lazyness
>>98858316So how do regular Duardin do magic without a Faustian Bargain?
>>98858347Runes.
>>98858336I think it’s as simple as it being a game mechanic thing. It’s magic as any other army would use on the table, but in lore it’s the stuff with runes. WHFB dwarves also did shit with runes that was magical.

>>98858472Is Soulbound still being developed or are they done with it
>>98858490There hasn't been a release in a long time and i don't think C7 talked about at Gencon so it might be dead but they were hiring writers for it earlier in the year
>>98857683>new libs are still push-shitLmao
>>98858490>>98858504I'd consider it a complete game. There are tools for doing more or less all the things you might want to do in a classical roleplaying game. I'd like some more of the basic logistical things they've provided for WFRP (patron compendiums, short modules and compilations of one-shot adventures, location sourcebooks), but most games don't get that level of support in the first place. Between the core book, the bestiary, and maybe one of the "Champions of" books, you could get a lot of mileage. Then there is tons of extra crunch to digest in Artefacts of Power, Steam and Steel, Through Fire and Smoke, etc.
Are mutton chops really kosher? I dunno that's still a lot of beard chopping.
>>98858603do people genuinely think these female models look good?

Any ideas/theories for potential future CoS battlemages for the remaining magic lores?>>98858490>>98858504>>98858575IMO the Soulbound devs might just be holding back until AoS 5e to drop a potential Soulbound 2e. They're very likely wary of getting a repeat of the rushed unpolished mess that was the initial release of the Champions of Chaos supplement book (editing mistakes, most archetypes unplayable RAW, abysmal playtesting and proofreading, etc) and all the backlash they got for it.
>>98858611What's the point of your shitty post? No one asked
>>98858641The point is my fat cock in your mom's ass
>>98858609I think it's universally agreed upon that basically all the female dwarf models GW has done look like shit. The only exceptions being that new Khazalite character. Beyond that, you have that one infernal razers champion with the head that actually looks like a female, and maybe one head from a KO kit. Oh, and some might argue that one of the models from that on FS warcry kit.

There was something truly special about those bottom-up armies that inherited WFB model ranges and had to be re-fluffed to fit AoS somehow. BCR, FEC, Bonesplitterz - all three had incredibly fun battletomes in the 1st edition and it's such a shame to see the last ones not making a cut. I always liked them but never bought a full army because painting a horde was way beyond my skills and patience. It's a shame they never got a farewell bundle to clear the stock.
>>98858705Love a bit of nostalgia, it's cool we've been around long enough to appreciate the 1e stuff a bit, but I imagine painting a horde is not somewhere that skill issue is relevant

>>98858675Yeah hence the mixed with other stuff for kind of a unified tribal aesthetic. Some pseudo-aztec, pseudo-indian, pseudo-native, pseudo-viking mix. >>98851186Part of it is GW trying to respond to people being like "AOS isn't grimdark enough! The stormcast don't have enough flaws and are able to respawn!" so they wanted to add some more overt nasty stuff to it, because I guess the literal metaphor of the dehumanisation of war wasn't enough. It is said that whilst staring into the forge-flame of his magmahold, he saw a vision of Grimnir. He claims that the Ancestor God has sent him to find a sacred flame of the vulkazharr buried in the heart of a Magmadroth called Cinderhorn. Whether this is true or some figment of Ormyr's addled senses is unknown, but he can often be heard conversing with Grimnir as he searches for the creature.>Ormyr's preferred Grimmdron are the Flameseekers. He can often be found fighting in their company and sharing a tankard of magmalt with them at battle's end. In the wake of the fall, Ormyr often ventures into the ruins of sundered magmaholds, either on his own or as a scout for his kin. Many a Runeson or Thrynn has had cause to celebrate his presence in their fyrd or war throng. Once down in the sweltering darkness, he searches for his fabled droth or, failing that, metes out vengeance against infestations of the vermin who brought the Fyreslayers low.

alright i watched 2+ toughs lore breakdown on the new dwarfs, an interesting bit of loreapparently the khazalites have been hiding out in shyish, the realm of death this whole time. when the world went to shit, KO took off into the sky, fyreslayers went into the volcanos, helsmitths made their bargain witth hashut, and the khazalids followed their death god ghazul as he opened portals all over the realms in their holds leading to the dwarven afterlife which exists in a pocket in shyish. there, the dwarfs bunkered up and reinforced dwarven heaven with runes of protection and warding, which lasted throughout all of the age of chaos and the age of sigmar until the skavendoom, at which point the skaven began finding a way to tunnel in past the wards. now the dwarfs realizing their safe haven is no longer safe have begun re-entering the world to retake their old keeps, as they had been using those centuries in ghazuls realm to rebuild their armies and fashion golem tech. also apparently spending that long in shyish has made them very dour and solemn, even for dwarfs, and they are somewhat unnnerving to talk to
>>98860908Shyish continues to be the most interesting realm

>There are 0 new pieces of Fyreslayer art in the entire battletome. The only new 'FS art' are some hearthguard in the background of the battletome cover. There are only 8 pages dedicated to FS lore (most of it not really new), the rest is all Khazalite. Sometimes 'Grimmdron' are mentioned in the KH pages as well. >Vostargi Mont has fallen. A siege from helsmiths plus a surprise attack from eshin at a summit that summoned most Runefathers and Magmaqueens killed most leaders, royalty and priests. Bael-Grimnir of the Vostarg is dead, even though he survived his encounter with Trugg and now had Ur-Gold prosthetic limbs (so we'll never have his model). Every single one of his runesons is also dead now. Bael's daughter, Rhuna-Grimnir, survived (but doesn't get a model) and is now a Magmaqueen of Karak Zharrzon (not its ruler though, only part of a council). Kalmar-Grimnir of the Hermdar is also dead. No mention of Brudja Brightaxe, but likely dead. Only a few hundred FS survived. Khazalites 'saved' them and took them in as refugees. This is all described in 4 paragraphs.>Vostargi Mont is flooded by lava now during Bael's last stand. Its forges are shattered. It's unlikely to ever be reclaimed.>Basically all Magmaholds are said to be destroyed (Quote: 'In truth, a handful of Fyreslayer strongholds remain'). Only the Greyfyrd and the Lofnir remain independent, but it's implied they are under constant siege. I don't really know how suddenly all holds in all realms were destroyed, but GW needed to shoehorn us into the KH tome I guess. There are a ton of Grimhold exiles now because so many holds are destroyed. Apparently, only heavily defended magmaholds under volcanoes are vulnerable, because the Khazalites are not really losing any holds.>Most Fyreslayers now live in Karak Zharrzon as refugees. They don't feel at home, they aim to reclaim their holds (though that is implied to be quite a hopeless venture multiple times).
>>98862375>The Fyreslayers don't have a special afterlife (Stone Sleep). They go to the same afterlife as all other Duardin. I guess even the Helsmiths go there since it's a single afterlife for all Duardin?>Barely any mentions of Vulcatrix in the battletome. Only mentioned as worshipped by the Lofnir/Vulkyn, who are seen as crazy cultists by the khazalites.>Ormyr is an ex-Lofnir FS who raised Ashtongue from an egg, and is looking for one of the Vulkazharr in Cinderhorn, a Magmadroth. He scours the ruins of destroyed Magmaholds. It's implied he could also just be crazy from Aqshy heat.>Gotrek has no FS keywords, but sort of feels a kinship with FS. He dislikes Zhangrom-Thaz and wants his old axe back.>Runesmiters now forge FS runes (not Runemasters anymore) and every FS can detect Ur-Gold.>No mention at all of any of the removed units. Even though Runemasters forged our runes, Grimwraths were our strongest warriors, Doomseekers should be a lot more plentiful now, etc.>Fyreslayers are now 'Grimmdron' and basically only driven by vengeance. They have, except for the Lofnir and Greyfyrd, 'become part of the Khazalite holds'. It's over.

>>98862524You choose the armies with the worst futures funnily enough >KO - souped>DOK - souped>Sylvaneth - sells so stays>Deepkin - a fate worse than BoC, the settings resident Eldar I.E irrelevant. The only time we need to fear is when FEC the actually most based AoS creation is on the firing line
>>98862550I think best case scenario all WFB models will get squatted and then the remnants will get souped. How convenient that DoK just got another 10 man infantry unit(which look like shit)DoK and Deepkin will get souped.Sylvaneth will become Kurnothi, dryads etc gone. Only AoS treedudes stick around and they'll become a subfaction.
>>98862520Tbh the deepkin’s days were numbered the second they broke the explicit NAP to get that flashlight back. Sigmar “let” them do a little soul raids here and there on order as long as the vast majority of them were kept to other people and didn’t go too far. These guys are getting fucked in two editions tops
>>98862565>DoK and Deepkin will get souped.I just threw up a little
>>98862550fec would have a good home in sbgl since at least they would gain dire wolves and fell bats
>>98860965Speaking of Malerion, I really wish that, when GW finally comes around to do something substantial with him and the Ulguan Aelves, they make him be just another cackling villain backstabbing Sigmar and running his faction in a gratuitously evil way. His original reason for being evil in WHFB was resolved in the End Times already, and being Order’s token evil teammate is already Morathi’s thing. I’d really dig Malerion as a shifty and ruthless but ultimately Lawful Neutral guy who aligns with the good guys out of enlightened self-interest, does the behind-the-scenes dirty work the others are too goody-two-shoes to do, and prepares schemes to take them down only as paranoid just-in-case contingencies. If the Pantheon of Order is the Justice League, then let Malerion be its Batman.
>>98862565>wfb models will get squattedDepends entirely on the model I'd say, more will get refreshed rather than squatted. If we look at for example SBGL which still has quite a bit of whfb models I can't imagine the corpse cart or parade floats staying around, but there's no way they ditch the necromancer or foot wight king for example. They'll be refreshed, possibly with a new name like the barrow knights/guard or 'revenant draconith'. >DoK and Deepkin will get soupedDoK will get souped, but not with deepkin. They'll be souped with umbraneth instead. There's a reason they waited for khazalites to soup fyreslayers.Idoneth will probably just keep hanging around in limbo for a while. Essentially the tomb kings of AoS. At least their models look good.>sylvaneth will become kurnothi, dryads etc goneWhy the fuck would they do that? Sylvaneth are one ot the most popular armies, despite an actually relatively modest range. Certainly more popular than wood elves ever were in whfb, so why the fuck would they go back to that aesthetic? Dryads will probably be refreshed in twistweald style. Though I can maybe see them just getting dropped since they already have both revenants as basic infantry.
>>98861841I do have it in my MEGA, but I don't know how do it in a safe way. There has to be good reasons that /tg/'s Share Thread is so paranoid about this stuff, and I don't want to find out what these reasons are.

>>98862881man i wish this guy was even remotely playable. they really REALLY need to fire whoever writes their 5 wound foot hero scrolls
>>98862895Deepkin will endure specifically because they are so odd and distinctive. No place for them in old world and no place for them inside another super faction without their themes overtaking major parts of that faction
>>98862919They just have no design concept for foot heroes in AoS whatsoever. In 1st/2E foot heroes were buff pieces, with unique effects and command abilities. They were useless in a fight, but still essential to the armies success3E on completely took away their commander role in exchange for slightly buffing their melee damage and maybe sometimes they can fight first just so there's a reason to roll their attack profile at all. The end result is a million heroes that do shitfuckall because their tepid combat stats still aren't worth anything and they don't do anything else. 4E somehow manages to be even worse than 3E at this, because on top of being useless and overcosted, whatever paltry abilities your foot heroes might have are probably also fucked over by "once per turn, army" and "roll a dice, on a 3+" sandbagging.
>>98862745Exactly what I've been saying, it's just so fucking stupid writing that it removes any reason to even pretend to care about the setting when GW clearly doesn't at all.Bonus points for dropping a teasing campaign story in 3E that left Bael Grimnirs fate uncertain, (and linked it again, in the article with the new KH chronicle of ruin story) only to clarify in a sub-paragraph somewhere later that:>Oh yeah, he actually survived that fight and got cool Ur-Gold replacement limbs out of it, no you can't see it. Also he's dead now, and so are every son he's ever had. His daughter we hyped up 8 years ago, survived though! But she's just some broken bitch who doesn't lead the faction or do anything, yep. Just thought you wanted to know.
>>98862961Having said all that, if GW ever does anything with Fyreslayers down the road, seems pretty likely that it'll be Lofnir/Droth themed, which makes sense. Why Greyfyrd of all the lodges also survived I have no idea, aside from the potential to randomly drop a single edgy named foot character(Bonus points if it's Warhammer Quest exclusive) 6 years from now and never follow it up with anything.
>>98862952I doubt you actually played 2e if you're saying foot heroes were viable before Look Out Sir rule improvements. It was a major issue in 2e. Khorne went from bottom quartile to consistently above average when they made look out sir official
>>98862919>one of the few good looking models in the range isn't even playablegrim(mdron)
>>98862990No they were frequently not viable, and just having a unique command ability, for example didn't mean that their abilities were actually useful. My point is more that they were at least relevant to the conversation and had some kind of niche still. Modern foot heroes literally have no reason to exist.
>>98863010hey!!!! some give a 5+ ward to an infantry unit within range!!! i genuinely hope the rules writers get put down holy shit
>>98863010>>98863014I legitimately do not agree with this complaint. For example, Chaos Sorceror Lord has ALWAYS been one of the few viable foot heroes and the ability has ALWAYS been 5++ for an infantry unit in range. Before, it was a command ability, except the same command couldn't be used more than once in the phase, so there was ALREADY a Once Per Turn (Army) limitation on it. Classic infantry foot heroes like Lord of Blights ALWAYS had the "Command: pick a non-hero version of this mini to fight consecutively".Meanwhile, 2e had huge balance issues. It was fun for like two weeks, but the first season in Ghur where you had to field all those monsters was so punishing to armies that couldn't do it, and only made foot heroes less viable. I know there's an argument that viability =\\= fun or popularity, but in my experience when I played a LOT OF 2E (multiple games a week with different opponents) these 'soulful little foot heroes' were not really present at my local or the larger tournament scene

Things can just happen, and half the time most of this shit is literally just kitbash, conversion, or cool bug facts when did we put so much weight into a thing happening? >>98863624>>98863615feels off for some reason lol
I'm very much looking forward to the entirety of aos up until the last world getting retconned into being just a bunch of fanciful and incorrect myths and legends, while the last world will be canonically described as the direct continuation of the old world after the end times.
Any of these any fun?
>>98863720Dark Harvest was alrightGothgul Hollow is fine but it tries to tie into some stuff it shouldn't from Warhammer Fantasy which makes it weaker
>>98863720Gothghul Hollow is the best one there. Dark Harvest is the one that gets recommended the most, but it's undeserved.
>>98863683i dunno... shit like this makes it very difficult to care about any characters in aos anymore
>>98863712That would be better for everyone really. I love 1st and 2nd editions with all their goofy bits and parts and I intend to keep enjoying them preserved in amber but for the ongoing AoS setting a hard reset is necessary.
>>98863733If you love your characters and faction you must become a whale or GW will squat and nuke you in the fluff. Pay up, piggy!
>>98863675I think it'd be weird given how discounted they already were and it being every model in one box. >Big Boss>10 Orruks >5 Boarboys That's every plastic model in the range. No SC did that. No one would buy anything else.
>>98863712>direct continuation of the old world after the end times>oi Dieter you ever wonder why our city is called lethis now?>you know what I never stopped to consider that HansYeah no retard that's not what's happening at all
>>98863757bad example, it's called lethis because of the nearby lakebut even any place could still trace its name to a historically inaccurate story that became a myth
>>98863739Nice sales pitch aos team! Now give me new idoneth
>>98863783They don't sell well so we won't give them anything besides the odd pity hero(who's also nonbinary). So they don't sell well because they get nothing. So we won't give them anything because they don't sell well so...Oops guess we better squat them now, they're a lost cause.
>>98863746>That's every plastic model in the range. No SC did that. Wrong. FEC, BCR, Nurgle Daemons and Slaanesh Daemons had their whole plastic ranges included in their Start Collecting boxes. Greenskinz were only missing their Boar Cavalry, Pestilens were missing their big Rat Daemon centrepiece dude, Khorne Daemons were missing a Bloodthirster. At one point such boxes made MAJORITY of Start Collecting boxes since most armies had very small models ranges, even the Battletome ones.>No one would buy anything else.GW was not bothered with that at all. Actually, pushing as much stock as possible was the goal back then so Start Collecting boxes were amazing deals. You could build a 2k pts BCR army with just three SC boxes. Pestilens could field a 2k Virulent Procession with 2 SC boxes and a Verminlord. I believe FEC could brew a 2k pts list with just 2 SC boxes, with 3 boxes you had over 2k pts easily. That allowed people to buy into multiple armies and pump those numbers GW desperately needed to prove AoS is not failing.
>>98863795>idoneth doomer is also the diversity ragebaitertoo obvious. begone troll
>>98863853I don't think there's only one person talking about idoneth or talking about diversity in /aosg/, anon.
>>98863795That's an amazing idea Bob! And it's only a good thing, the fans will surely appreciate it after they see what other amazing products we will have in store for them soon in place for them! Again, absolutely amazing, Bob! You'll be getting a raise and promotion for this!
Tbh I don't see a level of difference in support that fyreslayers received vs idk. Gotta take a massive amount of cope to believe they're not next on the totem pole.Shortlist feels like idk, dok will be souped into whatever nu dark elves are, losing fantasy kits in the process. Kruleboyz don't feel great. The rest are probably doing well enough, but I could see them start cutting individual models in 6e that doesn't fit their vision like vengorian lords or ogroids in s2d. The creative push behind a lot of these one off or undeveloped ideas don't work on the aos team anymore and they need mold space for 40k.
>>98863903IDK started out with more kits, which were also better kits, and that sell better than fyreslayers
>>98862375>>98862398How do we recover from this? Is this an indication of where we’ll go from here?
>>98862678Batman if he was evil maybe. I do like the idea though. I’m just not sure what it would functionally play out as.
>>98862868>August 2018The golden age (for everything)… take me back…
>>98863937>How do we recover from this?Fyreslayers are going to get reproposed down the line, updated hearthguard, new special character centerpiece, some odd new thing here and there. They're not dead, it's just that it's not happening soon.
>>98863557the question is how many of them are at least decent. doubt many are willing to find out.
>>98863159Source? I’m kind of curious now
>>98863947It's a shame that AoS lore is only liked by a handful, therefore no nostalgia-fuelled community ever emerged to keep old editions alive. 40k has thriving communities for 2nd and 3rd editions, WFB still sports a strong affection for 6th edition, even HH seems to still support 2nd edition playgroups here and there.
>>98863855>it couldnt possibly be one guy trolling a thread for dozens of posts pretending to be different peoplego tell that to the 40kg
>>98863730Dark Harvest came out during peak Kurnothi hype, but yeah as a book it's not great.
Man they're really stretching out these battleforce reveals aren't they
>>98863903Only way I can see IDK getting souped is if DoK go to Old World Dark Elves and Umbraneth gets introduced as a multi-pronged "darkness" faction representing all the dark corners of the realms with the Abyssal aelves from the dark of the sea and the soul, the Shadow aelves from the dark of the night and spaces between realms, and the Nightmare aelves who are walkers through dream and death and binders of shades
>>98863977Yeah this. As stupid as the new lore is and as much as I hate it, it's not the end for Fyreslayers. Even in this new status quo where Fyreslayers suck complete ass and have to constantly bend the knee to their Khazalite betters, there's still hooks for potential expansions down the road. They'll probably give Rhuna a model eventually, do some "and then Lofnir /Ormyr discovered new types of droth bullshit" and exactly one random thing with Greyfyrd that doesn't make any sense and never gets followed up on. Seriously though, I get why they kneecapped the mainstream, protag-energy lodges, and also kept Lofnir because like all the new models are at least Lofnir adjacent and all the good ideas for new models are also droth focused, but Greyfyrd? Greyfyrd was just the edgelord Merc clan, not much to be gained from keeping them around at first glance.
>>98863805FEC and BCR, yeah. I guess they just didn't want multiple three orruk boxes.
>>988640071e didn't have any lore man and 2e was scattershot damage control. I like 1e but it was a crapshoot make up your own setting because we don't give a damn situation, and that suits me fine but it isn't appealing to most.
>>98864170>1e didn't have any lorelolololol
>>98864170>1e didn't have any lore manFunny then how the 1e Fyreslayers tome made me love it.
>leakers say characters won't even remember AoS, like they all woke up in the new setting from nothing the fuck
>>98864210Anon, AoS launched as a blank slate apocalypse. Cities of Sigmar in Firestorm were the first cities of the whole setting, it didn't have shit until the very end.
>>98860466It's fine... I'm gradually priming them over. I'm probably gonna dump off like... an amount of them. I don't see a universe wherein I need 2 parade floats and 150 witch elves.
>>98864260>I don't see a universe wherein I need 2 parade floatsBut the snek build
>>98864237How the fuck would that even work? The new world is supposed to be the realms but one plane. Like aqshy is now physically bordering ghyran for example. How the fuck do you forget something that's right there?
>>98864506Story progresses a few centuries I think.
>>98864551Yeah, I get why the average joe wouldn't know, but why would nagash or vandus or tahlia or gordrakk or... forget
>>98864105Lol. Good luck waiting for your new Fyreslayers.
>>98864596anon's a glutton for punishment. Bet he played BoC, Bonesplitterz and Sacrosanct too, the sick fuck.
>>98864402BAD NEWS, no snek. These ones were both versions EXCEPT SNAKE. Besides I might be able to make back like... more than half of what I spent on the lot. WHO KNOWS.(thankfully I already got Morathi and Krethusa)
>>98864612NTA but I did indeed played BoC and Sacrosanct...
>>98864506It works the same way it did when we went from end times to the mortal realms: massive magical upheaval, added on top of a moderate timeskip, makes immortals have alzheimer until they have to deliver some one-liners that reference past events.
>And here's my Swifthawk Agents army>my darkling covens and order serpentis based Anvilguard army>my Firebellies army
>>98864612I sure did. Was never really that into Sacrosanct tbf, but they were the basis of my initial SC army. Keeping the pegasus guy because that model was sick.

>>98864746They are not. They were squatted because reforging is no longer a thing in TLW. SCE are switching to reforging from Temu by using totally-not-magical-gene seed.
>>98863359>GW is not in the business of autistically diving into some random ass lore blurb they shit out in the process of selling [PRODUCT] anymore. They do, just not for AoS apparently, they’re really good at doing it for 40k at least.
>>98864819Nah they do it for AoS too. Even the whole "Gazul hid the secret dwarf armies in the dwarven afterlife" thing was foreshadowed multiple times ages ago.
>>98864815I mean, reforging would totally still be a thing. They are literally the guys who do it, if anything I'd expect them to make a come back explicitly for that reason.
>>98864833nta, but the rumors we have say explicitly that reforging will end with the Last World. Instead dead stormcast can "bestow their powers to their successors" upon death, in a manner not entirely unlike Space Marines harvesting Gene Seed from fallen Marines to make the next crop of Space Marines. They're just gonna be Fantasy Space Marines, basically.
>>98864846Wouldn't that mean they'd have to drag a bunch of people around with them or is the implication gonna be there's just some guy with a soul vacuum
>>98864852I think the idea is that the surviving Stormcast train apprentices, and then some ritual is done when their mentor dies to continue the tradition, along with probably whatever remains of his kit. I don't think it has to be done in the moment.
>>98864048I’m an ironjawz anon and I’ll bitch about forced diversity too. But I also play an army that’s functionally immune to it all so I don’t complain as hard as I would if I was affected
>>98864703The end times was an actual apocalyptic destruction of the literal world though, in theory this will "just" be a reshaping of this world. Plus supposedly we'll have some absolute meme tier bullshit where the survivors just walk out of a vault or whatever after the timeskip
They really need to refresh Gore Gruntas
>>98864815Sacros were not squatted because of TLW lolBesides, wouldn't the anvil of apotheosis not working anymore free them up to get back in the field anyway?
Does anyone even care about them blowing up the realms anymore? GW have proven over and over that they don't give a fuck about their own lore so why should we?
>>98865015AoS lore is legitimately the best part of the game and the realms are the core of the setting you can't just rewrite Broken Realms or Dawnbringers to take place on one realm
>>98865015I mean I don't really give a fuck whether or not the realms are a pseudo solar system or a single planet, as long as they retain their more fucked up magical elements and previously established places I don't mind. It's the timeskip and all the shenanigans that come with it that bother me more.
>>98865015>>98865028I just want them to be able to and follow through with writing better quality lore. If that means blowing up the arguably flawed foundation of the setting, go ahead. It’s a long shot, and corporate processes have and will continue to stifle creative potential, but every now and then you can still catch flashes of genuine passion in the lore.
>>98865015Like anything, it depends on the execution. I don't inherently hate the idea so much as I don't trust GW to write it in a satisfying way that justifies throwing out everything else previously established.
>>98865015We still don’t know if that’s actually true. The realms still being around but everything taking place on one big planet seems more likely than such a radical change that would invalidate stuff like >>98865015 says.
>>98865015I cared when it was first leaked, I cared less as more information came out, and as we've gotten the slow roll out of dogshit lore updates like their big explanation for Fyreslayers joining KH. To be honest, the lore hasn't really been very good since 3E, and even including 3E in that is me being generous. At this point, AoS lore is quickly becoming about as enthralling for me as TOW lore is, which is to say, not at all. 40K lore has also been dogshit the last several years, so I think GW in general is just not firing on all cylinders when it comes to fluff. Or rules. Or making sensible business decisions. They still make mostly OK models, I guess.
>>98865015>Does anyone even care about them blowing up the realms anymore?Making the world smaller and limited just puts more creative restrictions on Your Dudes storytelling. Pretty much repeating all the worst parts of Fantasy and AoS world building. GW is retarded.
>>98864235me too man me too>>98864048>>98863853doomer sure but the other is too broad
>>98865311I feel like your dudes are already phased out of the setting as they've filled everything in.I miss the infinite realms days.
>>98863720I didn’t even know Fantasy/AoS had a horror line. 40k’s is a pretty mixed bag but it can be cool.
>>98865311>>98865370You can still very easily fit /yourguys/ just about anywhere, and I doubt that will change much just because all the realms get stitched together.
>>98863720Was Dark Harvest the one with Sylvaneth villains? That one was cool
>>98864830How is that autistic detail? Old GW would’ve given us a supplement about the dwarves gods and their underworlds
>>98862298I was worried but also happy. This place is kinda stressful.
>>98862678it’s not really paranoia if it’s justified (in both accounts)
>>98862678I wonder how they'll handle him. I liked anon's suggestion from a couple months back where he is 'eternity king' as essentially the elven god of death (since tyrion seems to be taking asuryan's mantle, he can be ereth khial 2 instead) and thus watching over the souls of all elves. It all fit very neatly.Anyway, I do like lawful neutral malerion. Remains to be seen what they'll actually do with him though. Also very curious about what the army's aesthetic will be like. I don't really like the shadow thing they did with the UW and warcry warbands, so hopefully something different. Though I did reslly like the orignal mistweaver from silver tower, so maybe it's just a matter of better execution.
>>98864972>Refresh a model that's barely 10 years old and shows no signs of age compared to the rest of the rangeYou're part of the problem.
>>98865668your eyes are part of the problem, gruntas were ugly since the moment of release
>>98862681Completely axing the Corpse Cart without a refresh would suck. I feel like it would suck a lot of the evil out of the faction what with the transportation of corpses for later use. The big floating models I care less about. They're cool to look at, but my god they look like a bitch and a half to paint. Model wise they might just be valuable for bits.
>>98863720I've only listened to Castle of Blood and I can say it's awful. It's mildly interesting pretty much only until the first kill happens and then it's just a bore the whole rest of the way through. Very little suspense, characters you really don't give a shit about. I'm glad I got it basically free from a bundle because it's not worth the price of a book or audiobook.
>>98864210Ah yes, such deep lore
>>98865668No, they’re very much in need of it

>>98865668I was saying they were too static since day 1 ngl

>>98866077Think I posted it earlier but uhhh, here's my singluar mancrusher still WIP. Took some time to organize my too many armies and he's been a little relaxing project while I figure out what the fuck to do next.

>>98863720>>98865702I got Castle of Blood hardcover, and yeah ditto on it being dogshit. Concept is neat, and that's about it. By second half felt like the author had no idea what to do with the story and just starts haphazardly killing everyone, and not even in entertaining way.
>>98866122Aw shit man thank you! Honestly I enjoyed working on this guy quite a bit more than I expected to, not necessarily my best paint job in the world but I'm really happy with how he turned out.
