>>98847272You have the wrong idea. He's not a chaos warrior that was so good that he got promoted to chosen and forced to drum. He's a drummer who was so good at drumming that he was promoted to chosen.
I left AoS when CoS came out and nuked my Warriors-and-Quarrellers only Dispossesseed army I was mid-building. (I had a whole theme and story for My Guys about it) (also I never played WHFB, for the record)I come back bc New Dorfs, and I just want to say in the most autistic way possible...I hate how GW has no concept/respect for their own invented language. I know it's the minor-est of dumb things to spaz about. But it would have been so simple to like...consult their own wordlists and construct things in a way that made sense. Not just lumping random phonemes together.Like, Dron is thunder, but Thunderers are called Thunderers bc the word for handgun is Thrund. Kromdron just...means nothing, really. Same with Thrundrin, and Thrundok is a bastardization of Thrundi/Thrundaz.Anyway. I still wanna buy the things, even though I haven't played in years and I know it'll prolly be stupid, based on the slight rules leaks in here so far.Reposting but also I just hope everyone her has fun and has good Dudes.Keep hobbying, friends.

>>98847288>I hate how GW has no concept/respect for their own invented language. I know it's the minor-est of dumb things to spaz about. But it would have been so simple to like...consult their own wordlists and construct things in a way that made sense. Not just lumping random phonemes together. It's not dumb to be disappointed with the inconsistency, but I think about it this way to cope. The expectations you have about the fictional language are based in a language from countless thousands of years past and 2 apocalpsi(apocalypses?) ago. Culture and languages evolve and change over time. -dron has become the suffix referring to Duardin of a certain kind. Duardin is now the in-universe word for them and as of the early AoS Gotrek books, they do not know the term Dawi or Dwarf. I'm with you on GW not respecting their fantasy languages anymore but the truth is the corporate streamlining of the creative process has heavily neutered the depth the creatives are allowed to add to the setting. Hell, many factions don't even have more than like 5 race-specific language terms. One of my biggest gripes is the lack of simple subfaction icons for so many factions, namely my LRL and Deepkin.
>>98847406Yeah, true, I just...as someone with conlanging as a major special interest...I wish they'd throw me a bone now and then xDI also sat there trying to collect all the little pieces of the Kharadron Code into a complete document, before my computer wiped, so sometimes the tism can absolutely be redirected XD
>>98847406>One of my biggest gripes is the lack of simple subfaction icons for so many factions, namely my LRL and Deepkin.Agree wholeheartedly, though with idoneth there's at least the cope that banners and shit don't matter as much when you're primarily an underwater cicilization. Lumineth REALLY should have some more faction iconography though what the fuck.

>>98847489This guy drew his own coats of arms for them. GW would go ballistic if someone on their payroll put forth this kind of thoughtful effort.

Oh by the way for that one anon wondering, I swung by the local gw the other day to check out the new mini thing of the month thing. Yeah it really seems like it's more about expanding the options for people painting their literal first mini in store than something for regulars like the old system. If your local guy is really chill he'll probably let you take on home every now and then but it really feels like the idea behind the new system is assembling and painting in store (mostly for newcomers)
>>98846471>>98846402Nta but thanks anon!
>>98847406>One of my biggest gripes is the lack of simple subfaction icons for so many factions, namely my LRL and Deepkin.GW just needs to bite the bullet and stop bothering with selling rulebooks, and instead pivot to selling them for the lore. Sure, they can still have the rules in them, but people just pirate them half the time now. I would actually buy battletomes if they had a meaningfully large section on fluff to read and look at
>>98848654I was going to point that out but we’re in AoS black pill power hour no fun only misery and talking about things that cause you misery
>>98849098I would pay for a reverse "gamer's edition" where you just get the lore and art part of the tome but without all the rules.60 bucks is just too much for these things nowadays
>>98849205if they lasted 8-10 years like the old ones in the 90s and 00s, then i could maybe stomach the price tag, but the nonstop march of the 3 year edition cycle is just too much, especially if you have more than one army. between my old WHFB armies, 40k and now the aos armies i've collected, i have 8. so they want me to shell out $480 every 3 years on disposable trash books most of which are featuring the same recycled art and lore every time with minor tweaks, on top of also paying another $200ish per game every edition for the core books, seasonal books and campaign books?its just insane
>>98849205Yep. I wish GW would just sort of have a reassessment and reset with stuff. They need to try and consider what they really want to do with the games, besides just make money obviously. Competitive games aren't necessarily bad, but having them as the focal point of fluffy beer and pretzels fun is bizarre
gonna have to ask here. so i looked at the photos of the KH tome and the only way I can see of getting a PRIEST is to take a Runesmiter.so if you're trying to run pure non-fyreslayer army, you're fucked? because there is no way to get prayers otherwise.
>>98849250Couldn’t you just convert some other dwarf into a priest looking guy and use that?
>>98849282I suppose so, yes, but it's still running a fyreslayer runesmiter rule wise. just baffling they made a new faction and didn't even make a priest unit.
>>98849290It's because it's only wave 1, it's a common issue with every wave 1 release.
>>98849303i think it's just a flat out common issue with GW being retarded. same with Seraphon not getting any endless spells or priests.
Are army sets being bought up by scalpers?
>>98849313I don't think GW even want to make endless spells anymore, and I wouldn't surprised if they were either removed with 5e or further reduced to make sure no one wants to run them (like they did with elves and dwarfs for wave 2 of CoS, nerfing them to the point that you don't want to run them despite clearly stating they are being removed soon.)
>>98849342I assume so too but when factions have loads of "help with manifestation" abilities you start to think it isn't for awhile yet.
>>98849348Those types of abilities don't take much to add and remove, and like you said: I also don't don't think it'll be for awhile.
>>98849342Most recent one was tzeentch iirc, which wasn't THAT long ago. Before that it was idoneth I think? But that one is a bit of special case.Idk I think it's a bit early to write them off just yet, but I also wouldn't be terribly surprised.
>>98849313>common issue with GW being retardedim actually siding with this. there have been a slew of just weird design choices that are completely divorced from any internal logic or sense that anyone who actually played the game or cared about the armies and their lore would catch in half a second, any real fan would immediately call it out. since thats not happening, i think these books lately have either been written algorithmically, or written mercenarily by someone who gives absolutely zero shits about the lore or vibeexample 1: not only do the only priests in the army end up being fyreslayers, but the unlimited prayer they chant is a prayer to valaya, not grimnir. there is a prayer to grimnir, but the fyreslayers entire school of magmic prayers and invocations have been wiped out despite them being the only priests in the bookexample 2: the runewrights are wizards. they have decided to make runesmithing function using the games magic system. okay. but there's also no restrictions i've seen on the runewrights using their status as wizard 1 to just cast regular endless spells, which means you now just straight up have dwarf wizards who dont turn to stone and have had to make no bargain with an evil god for sorcerous power, they just get itexample 3: the boats are not wizards and cannot use rune magic, despite both versions actually having a runewright on the ship front and center.example 4: the golems of ghazul and valaya have the same armor save and defensive profile despite one of those units having a 10 foot tall iron shield and the other having no shield at all, and in fact the shield itself serves only as an offensive tool. the whole book is full of all of these weird little choices that just make zero fucking sense or break the lore or do something obviously opposite from what it should do, that any sensible human would catch instantly. and its not just this book. 4e's books have been full of these types of just WTF left and right
>>98849066That's too time consuming.
>>98849384KH have some anti manifestation abilities. Orcs also just got endless spells this edition. If there's a trend, it seems to just be that new/refreshed armies aren't getting endless spells in their first wave, which might just be a business decision to use them as filler releases later on.
>>98849388To be fair to the boat wizard, I think they are busy driving the ship.
>>98849396> the boat wizardfrom what i've seen there are 3 wizards on the boat
>>98849388>example 4: the golems of ghazul and valaya have the same armor save and defensive profile despite one of those units having a 10 foot tall iron shieldSCE used to have Liberators with shields or Liberators with two hammers. Two hammers had more offensive ability. Shields had re-roll 1's for saves iirc. Then the new Liberators came and they have the exact same profile regardless of what you put on them. Two hammers? Still 3+. Shield? Still 3+ and no re-roll. Completely irrelevant and thus the visual design (i.e, a unit with shields is instinctively going to have a better defensive profile than one with two weapons) is moot. Now you then have shit like Stormvermin where the old kit could have shields and thus there were rules for shields, but the new kit doesn't have shields so the rules don't have shields.I can understand them making Runewrights wizards for the sake of ease of rules (so they don't have to rewrite the entire thing or add new rules) but the fact they can plop out manifestations and shit is a bit odd, yes. But this is a rule vs lore type issue and stuff that doesn't make sense. Like Seraphon used to have an artefact that allowed any SKINK to fly when they put it on, because Engine of the Gods Stegadon had SKINK it meant you could put it on it and the Stegadon would fly. Obviously not what was intended but still was doable (until GW got rid of it). This is par for the course for GW. But in terms of the KH tome? Yeah a lot of oddness.
How do I use Gluttons in Spearheads? You start with 2 and on Turn 3, bring in 3 more.
>>98849403One's a Stonesmith, one's a Grudgebearer and one's a Holdseeker.
>>98849403I think it's only two of them. The guy with the book is there to yell at people about grudges.>dude in front is barefootMissed that. Is the basic runesmith also barefoot? Could be a way to tell who the magic fellas are.
>>98849412The basic runewright dude is not barefoot, I think it's specifically the geomancers that are. The one on the cannon kit is also barefoot iirc
>>98849435seems inconsistent. the one on the cannon is enchanting shells, why would he need to be barefoot?
>>98849388reading this... and thinking about some strange rules and the ways its generally written do stand out as being overly complicated, and just poorly thought out.could it be the case that all the faction rules written for this edition were ai generated
>>98849388Whoever keeps trying to give factions resource mechanics should be dragged out into the street and shot. Helsmiths have DP, and it's shit. Khazalites have grudge marks, and they're shit.I know they're not the only factions that have resource mechanics (Ossiarch also have them, as an example), but more often than not, they're bad rules that are poorly implemented. It feels awful playing a faction that requires you generate and spend resources just to make your army operate at the same level of functionality as other factions do normally.
>>98849544i dont wholly agree but i dont wholly disagree.there is a world of difference between helsmiths and khazalites though. the khazalite grudges are MUCH easier to get and hold onto, and the units power up with only one instead of needing a full 3. its a significant improvement over the helsmiths iteration.
>>98849575I don't disagree. I think Helsmiths get the worst of it, which is made worse by side of their range (fewer options to deal deal with problems, rules outright shrinking list building options - i.e Taars Grand Forgehost or there simply be no reason to take swords over spears on infernal cohort). But regardless of which is worse, I still think both a terrible and need to be removed/changed.
>>98849509She's not enchanting shells, she's straight up pulling little columns of stone out of the earth to use *as* shells.

>>98850370The hardest part will 100% be figuring out wtf is skin versus fur versus exposed muscle. Personally I picked out any dips and holes as exposed muscle then any areas with significant muscle definition were treated as skin then everywhere else was fur. For fur I used a contrast for this one and my previous rat ogre. I like contrasts for fur since it gives some nice texture and they cover large swaths of the model fast. For the skin I separated it into naturally showing skin and skin that was previously covered by fur. My logic was that like real rats skin hidden under fur is paler than skin on the feet and head usually. So I used two different base coats then slathered gulliman flesh all over them. Personally I think it’s too saturated but I guess it could be worse. And for the open wounds I used rakarth flesh then flooded it with carrobugc crimson which makes an excellent bloody color. For the warpstone I used warp lightning over averland. I then carefully put some warp lightning in the cracks to give it a glowing effect.

Another artillery piece would be nice, I don't think there's a single faction in the game that even has more than one artillery model (dual builds don't count). Maybe CoS if you count the cogfort.>sigmar must lie modeOh man okay if it has to be something out of left field then I'd like them to explore the geomancer stuff, that's pretty cool. Maybe a unit of elite swordsmen themed after hashut? So we have an elite unit themed after both valaya and gazul who seem to be the two most important ancestor gods so far. Yeah technically grungni is above them but it's all been focused on the other two.More gholem variants would be cool too but that's a bit of a cop-out.

Funny thing is that other pakis often sided with them since I was white looking. (I’ve been mistaken for greek/Mediterranean or Persian a lot). >>98851002Sigmar is what the God-Emperor thinks he is and the God-Emperor is what Sigmar worries he might be.
>>98850290Yeah that's the thing. They previewed it and nowt has come out. With the leakers saying more stuff is coming End of Edition (with Coatl mentioned) GW dropping the tome now only to add a new unit a few months later would be baffling. Then again, this is GW. Why the delay for what is a single model and a tome? Seems really fucking odd.
>>98851042Pretty much this. Like I said last thread I’d worship the emperor because I’d have to and I’d worship sigmar because I want to. Besides if they are gonna make sigmar and the stormcast more grey wouldn’t that just make it more like 40K? Personally I like that the stormcast can actually be normal and interact with normal humans in the cities of sigmar. Side note imagine going to your local chess tournament and your opponent is gods chosen warrior.

>>98851002Yeah it’s annoying, the Sigmar lied BS is already so forced and cringe worthy, they really want him to be more (less?) than just The Good Guy™ but they don’t actually know how to do it without making him do something so retarded even they would scoff at it, hopefully they get their heads of out of their asses and realize it’s a waste of time and effort. >>98851042Emperor doesn’t even technically have a single mind anymore so his opinion on his own rule and how he handled things is ironically probably going to vary widely at this point.

I actually like the valayan guards with shields. I think an army without clan shields and thunderers would look great. - droths- shield nuns- naked guys/partly naked guys - golems painted to match droths- artillery
>>98851207Speaking of valayans, wonder if you can paint up those hair buns with red hair like the one chick an anon posted here a thread or two back. I am excited to try it once they come out proper, hope the clothing over the hair isn't too much of a barrier to making it look like actual hair.

Want to start my first army. I’m in between Hedonites, Bonereapers, or Tree elves. Thoughts?
>>98851610By the time your finished with bone reapers, they might have some actual decent rules in 5th. That being said sylvaneth is ultimately better than the other 2.
>>98851610Do you have any experience with painting minis etc or is this just your first army for aos specifically?
>>98851622I’m not particularly looking for anything meta, just looking to have fun and troll my opponents with goofy combos.
>>98851685Just first army with AOS. I got an airbrush and everything! I mostly just fool around and paint and read rules but now I want to start AOS.
>>98851706Hedonites.You must suffer
>people moaning there are no 'elite' units for KHWhat? You literally got two gholem units with insane stats (that become even better if you make a Runewright hang with them and cast the +1 rend spell) and you've got the Valya Guardians who are pretty good too. Moaning they don't have 2W (I refuse to say 'Health') model infantry while rocking 3+ saves.
Anyone got a link to the full arknaut episode
>>98851818The Hearthguard lost a wound?
>>98851706Alright yeah because hedonites can be absolute bitch to build and paint for a beginner. But if that's not really much of a concern I suppose it comes down to gameplay and future support.Sylvaneth are definitely the strongest of the three at the moment, are a very tricksy army in general, standard wood elf nonsense. Similarly slaanesh play like you would expect slaanesh to play, move fast and hit hard but not too tanky etc etc. Bonereapers I can't personally comment on.In terms of support they're all generally solid at the moment. Ossiarchs just got a nice medium size release wave so I wouldn't expect much else for a good while, except maybe a new arkhan which was vaguely rumoured a while back. Sylvaneth similarly had a good expansion last edition and are pretty solid right now. Could see them redoing dryads in the not-so-distant future. Also whatever the fuck they're doing with kurnothi, though from what we know from leakers that'll be a while, if at all.Slaanesh generally has a big and modern range, some of their older daemon stuff got squatted with the latest tome. Other than daemonettes I think all their models are now from 2nd edition AoS onwards? Apparently they're redoing all the minor daemons next edition so that'll be something to look forward to, and maybe they'll being the chariots back while they're at it.That's about all of the top of my headOh and as always if you wanna start playing look into spearhead first since it's fun and quick and low commitment, so ideal for beginners
>>98851822They're not counting fyreslayers either.
>>98851815I have such sights to see.

>>98851610Bonereapers cool in models - Terrible in gameplay rn (shitty book)Tree Elves - Cool models, amazing in gameplay rnHedonites - Cool Models, Eh in gameplay.Personally I like bonereapers and death more as a whole but Tree elves are neato

>>98851892I'm more talkin' quality of tome, they're fine. The temptation dice are nowhere near as exciting in game as they sound in premise. They're a perfectly fine army, though I'll say you probably want Glutos or Sigvald and I know a few people get annoyed with named characters being better options.
>>98851873Units musicians? No. Random units? Yeah.
>>9885181820+ppm for single wound infantry is on the extreme end of expensive. even with that ward, the valayan units really could have done with a second wound3+ saves are effectively 5+ saves because god damn everything in the game has had several editions of rend creep and now every unit thats going to be attacking you probably has rend 2 or better, and in this edition of 3" combat range units are also eating more attacks than ever, so for something to actually take a punch it needs to be ardboy or rotsword levels of tough with 40 wounds per squad in addition to good saves and a ward. 220 pts for 10 health is pretty bad. possibly the only saving grace for them is that maybe with their ward they can eek out a survival from a hit with 1 or 2 models left and then use the once per game revive to stick around but even then thats only a few models back per squad and you need to run multiple squads to really get value out of it.in reality, the valayans are not an elite unit in the normal sense. one unit are assassins, while the other are a utility buff piece. the halberd valayans can charge as though they fly which means they can jump over lines to spear support heroes or get into back ranks. they have the damage to challenge a hero, but at 2 attacks per model for 20pts they dont have the damage to meaningfully harm actual unit vs unit combat. valayans with shields you're going to take more for their buff to other units and not want them actually fighting so you can make their buff last as long as possible. it applies to the king on boat too, so valayans buffing kings might be a common play, especially the generic one who can drag his valayans around with him
>>98851935adding onto that, the valyan halberds units ability is once per (army) so you'll probably want one reinforced unit of them. but the valayans with shields bonus ward is shockingly not once per (army) so i could actually see you taking these ones in MSU 5 man squads to sprinkle 2 or 3 of throughout your army providing 5+ ward bubbles across your lines. they all need a grudge mark, but if you take the valayan golems in MSU and get them killed early they immediately give a grudge to every valayan unit that can see them, so you could run them suicidally, get some quick value out of a fight, then when they blow up suddenly your whole army is rocking a 5+ ward for the rest of the game.

So Greasus too fat to walk and rich enough to spend a considerable amount of time souring discord and confusion amongst enemies wasn’t the template for an overtyrant? The lore blurb for tyrants doesn’t talk about how Overtyrants expect tribute and worship even from tyrants? This blurb right here doesn’t talk about how Morgs only uses religion and prestige as means to an end instead of ends to a mean? Overtyrants are not usually personally active at all and has been a consistent theme throughout Ogre history. >>98853564>Special characters are meant to be exceptional, special, otherwise there's no point in them.If you’re autistic maybe, the point to “special characters” is the fact that they’re easy representatives a faction and the distilled essence of them and parts of their culture. The day you show me another overtyrant special character that was an equal to Greasus with as much lip service and lore he has I’d believe this. >Her mount isn't special, we are only told it is without it looking any different from the other mounts; her equipment isn't special, we are only told it is without it looking any different from the others we see;Wow sounds like she’s a representative of her faction instead of a Mary Sue why i am supposed to be mad at this again ? >her philosophy isn't special, we are only told it is without it sounding any different from what has always been the case for the ogres we see.Is that why the tome makes it explicitly clear through written word and opinions that Morga thinks working for other people, a cornerstone of the ogor culture, and their religion, is gay as all fucking fuck? When has that been a common trait in ogres? The highly spiritual and ritualistic psychopaths who literally ate and destroyed parts of entire realms following the rumblings of their bellies and words of their priests? >In practical terms she's just an ogre tyrant, but a woman, that we are told to accept as the exceptional and revolutionary top dog when she just looks as a normal example of the faction. You constantly repeating this just shows you have no fucking idea what’s in the battletome or anything about ogres that you didn’t learn from a total war warhammer lore video

There's really nothing special about the 50 or so named space marine characters in 40k with models for example. Like yeah they've all got their stories and all, but they're not subverting the space marine trope or anything. It's fine to have a character that's pretty much just a regular leader. Plenty of examples of those across 40k, fantasy, aos, etc. Also in the tome I never really got the idea that morga was this crazy exceptional leader. She beats and usurps her father yeah, but she would have been killed herself if it wasn't for redd's intervention. As for the ogre cultural revolution that seems to be mostly spurred on by redd, of which morga is a pragmatist ally that clearly doesn't give that much of a fuck about all the RETVRN nonsense as long as she gets to be in charge of the meatfists. She very much struck me as one overtyrant among many.
>>98853541Greasus was an actual SPECIAL character, do you understand that? he was atypical, exceptional, an extreme, not what ogres normally are, or look like, or behave like. You cannot say morga is special by not being like greasus when was special for being that way to begin with, you circled back to making morga be a normal ogre, that's not enough to be a special character in a faction of normal ogres.
>>98853585When did Glittermaw say to reject modernity and religion? The same guy who would pay Fyreslayers to kill his enemies and against all known ogor behavior also actually paid them instead of eating them, that guy? The guy whose lore says he rose to power though being a mercenary and later encouraged more mercenary work to make the meatfists the most powerful and rich tribe? That guy? >You would have a point if ogres normally looked like city ogres and maneaters and only morga and her close followers went back to the previous look, but this is not the case, she's "special" only when you pretend that doing what ogres have always been, done, and looked like, for 20 years, wasn't the norm. But it was.I agree all Ogors hated mercenaries and overtyrants were personal warmongers on the path since their first army book

>>98853580>If you’re autistic maybe, the point to “special characters” is the fact that they’re easy representatives a faction and the distilled essence of them and parts of their culture. No, it's not autism, you're simply wrong, that's not special characters are for, that's what characters are for, SPECIAL characters are to be exceptional one way or another, morga is only special when you gaslight yourself to think ogres were something fundamentally different than what they have been all this time. And you know you're gaslighting yourself because on one end you're defending the fact she's not special, making her representative of the faction, and that by being exceptional she would have been wrong, conjuring some absurdly fake dichotomy; and in the very next sentence you're grasping at straws to find ways to support how atypical she actually is, and you only can manage to get close to that by grossly mischaracterising the rest of the faction.I keep repeating the point because you're so dense you keep missing it.

>>98853604You're doing it again. In the first paragraph you're arguing that glittermaw is special for mercenarism, trade, and diplomacy, and in the very next you're trying to say that was the norm for ogres anyway. You're hypocritical and arguing for the sake of arguing.
>>98853630First of all I’m done entertaining your cope Glittermaw a character who didn’t appear in a single campaign, novel, or fucking short story isn’t special let alone a character. He was less than a nobody, less than a character than C-tier SCEs literal who’s who had entire campaign and character arcs, rules, and stories. His entire existence was to say “mercenaries fucking rule I love getting paid and killing” and was a bargain bin by the books ogor. Nothing made him special other than being successful and look where that got him. if this is your criteria for a special character that is below pathetic. I would fucking laugh at someone who said Arkas Warbeast or my actual boy Lord Imperius was special characters and THEY have more to them than this random literal fucking who that I’m supposed to buy is integral to their faction makeup? And the integrity to that makeup isn’t even what you think it is so it’s pretty impressive that a special character could be so special that he’s not only irrelevant in the grand scheme of the game itself but barely relevant in the narrative of its own army. He didn’t even introduce the great secret to Ogors what makes him special if thinking your entire culture should change isn’t special? The fact that he was named? Don’t put this loser in the same breath as a chad like Dakkbad Grotkicker. Instead of bitching about a literal who why don’t you bitch about actual characters who have anything going for them besides being the most generic possible concept you could come up with and call it special because you’re so used to getting literally nothing
>>98853629>should only serve their personal growth and showing that ogres are the strongesta completely alien and unprecedented mindset for ogres, no you're right, they were totally always very selfless and never about "might makes right", that was never a key phrase in their introductory book, and at no point it ever focused on stuff like contests of strength and big names for showing they're the strongest.not at all, you're right, morga is the most unique ogre character they've ever got because she has this mentality
I'm starting a Clan Moulder army focused on Rat Ogors - 18 of them to be exact. Is there any point in taking any non-named hero other than Master Moulder and Grey Seer?Secondly, am I seeing it wrong or is Thanquol’s Mutated Menagerie much better than Fleshmeld Menagerie in every scenario even if I don't field Thanquol?
>>98853630You seem to think “known for” and “characterized by” = special you are actually retarded my fault also are you ever going to show me ogres who hated this? I have an access to a large database of tomes and army books which book or tome or page should I go to?
>>98853563>pretend to not understand argument weasel through every debate until people get tired of it and tell you to fuck off>heh guess I win another debate sóyjak.jpg>do this for years and pretend to be confused as to why no one will engage with you in good faith anymore
>>98853651nta, but you can write paragraphs of cope if you want, Glittermaw even as his status as a battletome lore only character was still twice as interesting as Morga, who has literally nothing going for her.
>>98853682Cities of nigmar
>>98853651Glittermaw was special because he was the absolute top dog of the faction, AND because he exemplified and supported an exceptional part in ogre behaviour.Morga exemplifies the normal baseline of ogre behaviour, and is only in charge because glittermaw is no more, and someone else helped her.If even a non-character like glittermaw is more special than morga, and if you weren't a hypocrite, you wouldn't be defending morga to begin with.
Who invited destiny to defend morga?
>>98853669I’m still waiting for somebody to show me an ogre to look at their entire superstitious culture and great secret and say it’s gay cringe and a detriment before Morgs. But this doesn’t exist I even asked ChatGPT since AnonGPT’s database is broken :(
>>98853682You assume he was starting with good faith to begin with
>>98853676>You seem to think “known for” and “characterized by” = specialWhy would someone be known for, or characterised by, something that isn't actually different from the norm?(you) aren't called anon the retarded faggot for being exactly as dumb and exactly as much of a faggot as all other anons, you are dumber than them, and a faggot even compared to them.>show me ogres who hated this?can you? even morga doesn't actually hate mercenaries, she uses the other special character just fine, she has no strong convictions as a character, she's not special.if anything it's redd who has convictions and is leading the ogre's cultural narrowing.
Nta but neither glittermaw nor morga seem that exceptional to me honestly>pre 4th edition tomeSome ogres are pure might make rights retards, some are more capable of let's call it statesmanship and mercenary work and whatnot, with greasus being one such ogre running a primitive kingdom with tributes and tolls and shit. Probably the most "diplomatic" tyrant, but not the only one.>post 4e tomeRedd has his little spiritual awakening and wants to retvrn to great maw worship and none of this sissy diplomacy and mercenary shit in favour of just killing and eating anyone who's weaker.Morga makes an alliance of convenience with this guy. She's one of many of these more "animalistic" tyrants, less interested in empire-builsing, but again far from the only one. Also, just likes unga bunga ogres existed in the days of greasus, there still exist plenty of more diplomacy minded ogres and larger tribes.Tldr both flavours of ogre (and everything inbetween) always existed. Previously the most well known one was camp A, now the most well known ogre is camp B. Both camps still exist.
>>98853747Oh also should reiterate that morga isn't nearly as zealous about this whole maw bullshit as redd is, and is clearly only really aligning herself with the religious movement out of realpolitik. And while she doesn't do much diplomacy with the other races she's very much involved in all kinds of politics and subrerfuge with the other ogre tribes, mainly through her vast network of kids.
>>98853716morga isn't the character you think she isshe went to grab a glutthorn because it's ogre culture and she is using that specific mace specifically because it's ogre culture not to mention she's working closely with the main religious leaderif she hates superstition and ogre culture and religion, then she's either retarded or powerless about it, so she's not doing anything as a character

Now they could've tried to expand them in an attempt to revitalize the faction, but they decided thet might as well take the opportunity to put a unit of "regular" dwarfs in the game which people have bitched about since day 1.Fyreslayers are now a subfaction within this larger dwarf faction, so they're not beholden to the same sales expectations anymore. They're comfy right where they are.>but vulkitesAs you said they're battleline which doesn't really fit with their conceptualization as a relatively elite subfaction anymore. >Finally start to paint my Ogors>Few hours past and my arms getting jittery, I'm light headed, and feel weak in knees>Assume hungry and eat>Try to finish second layer of skin>Arms still feel jittery, weak in the elbows>Have to stop as I don't know what the fuck is happeningWHY IS MY BODY FEELING LIKE THIS?
>>98856004You might be deficit in some vitamin.
>>98856004do you shave your minatures or have an open pot of tamiya you're either high or you got sinus issues
>>98856004Open the window
>>98853682You could paint all of these as white and have it look fine except middle, top, and maybe top left
>>98853682The one on bottom right is also shown example as an old white man holding a flag in one of the cavalier pictures. Kinda neat how they show this stuff painted in different ways.
>>98856016Which Vitamin?
>>98856000Celestial warbringers, yeah it's pretty cool though still probably not worth it I still have one of these which I got secondhandThey really should have put some unique weapons in there, as well as some other bits
>>98856090I dunno. I'm no nutritionist.
>>98856017>Shave miniaturesNo?>Open pot of TamiyaJust a pot of Kislev Flesh to refill my palette.
>>98855491>Cos is tahlia + 2 cavaliers + the marshalFUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKI ALREADY OWN A TAHLIA THIS IS USELESS TO ME FFFFFFUUUUCKKKK
>>98856329you should buy it, and then sell me the tahlia.
>>98855491damn that Nurgle one sounds kino actually. Harbinger is probably the best model in AoS, not sure why you're laughing out loud at him.
Finally making progress on my Slann, and satisfied with the look I have for the chair so far before I go in with gold and finer details in the wood.Main thing I've been thinking of so far is deciding a color for my skinks. Maybe a yellow/blue color scheme?
>>98856329Think about the bits I guess
>>98856370pink/green
>>98855491>CoS is literally just 4 modelsAin't no way. Should be at least 5 cavs + 1 more random hero OR unit.
I kinda wanna run an AOS ttrpg campaign. I know soulbound exists but uh, is it any good? Or would I be better off just using another system for it?
>>98856535when is Sigmar getting his own model?
Man I fucking hate how good maggotkin got dealt with the Celtic/knight theme with their revitalization. The rumored battleforce for maggotkin sounds good and it’s tempting me but I already have a tzeentch army for chaos. God I wish tzeentch was a finished range so I wouldn’t be tempted by actually competent ranges.
>>98856558>Maggotkin - Celtic>Slaanesh - Hindu>Tzeentch - Mayan? >Khorne - Aztec?
>>98856569Tzeentch is supposed to be egyptianKhorne would be GREAT as Aztecs but all we get are discount world eaters
>>98856588It’s leaning more Arabian I think in aos. Who knows though.
>>98856557Good question. Kinda weird there isn’t one
>>98856615The excuse is that he's too strong but I mean Morathi, Kragnos, Nagash, & Alarielle get one. It's not like GW cares about rule consistency with lore either.
>>98856627It's not that he's too strong, it's that he's only able to be in one place at once and he's too much of a barbarian lover of combat to avoid getting stuck in even when it's a retarded idea
>>98856648They could find a way to make it work easily from a game perspective. Even if it requires giving him some lightning range ability to make him not just a bonkbarian. They're just too lazy to try.
>>98856627Morathi is canonically bitch-made and retarded tho.
>>98856557why doesn't the emperor have a model for 40k? Same thing.
>>98856659Yeah but she's still technically a god.
>>98856715She's a weak-ass god that has to rely on being a backstabber.
>>98856729But a god regardless.
>end up on GW instagram for some reason>comments on anything aos are full of tards going "YOU NEED TO MAKE MORE STUFF FOR DA OLD WORLD IT'S BETTER" I think one of the funniest parts about this is how much many of them expose that they really only know it because of Total Warhammer, because the setting isn't called 'the old world', the Old World is the not!Europe. The idea of the whole setting being called the old world when it wasn't old until AOS would be very funny though.
>>98856806It's sad and hilarious that those comment sections are filled with either those kinds of people, Space Marine paypiggies whining about why they aren't talking about Space Marines again, or the rare useful question.
>>98856729Wasn’t that her thing in fantasy too? She’s strong but at her best when not fighting directly
>>98856557Only if the plot requires it—which it never will—because the guy is simply too powerful to actually do anything in the story. If he were to suddenly show up on the scene, Archi and Gorkimorki would stop playing hide-and-seek and start wailing on him—and, obviously, both (or all three, it makes no difference) would lose. It’s the same deal with the mummified Emperor from Warhammer 42,000: the guy, just by possessing Guilllermo during the "Covid" wars, was able to solo Mortis and trim the hedges in Nurgle-chan garden—and yet, the bastard still chooses to do practically nothing the whole time.
>>98856904Tbf, we see Khorne idly corrupt entire fleets during arks of omen by swinging his sword once. Emprah had to do some crazy accidental trojan horse to damage Nurgle's garden, and it seems the chaos gods are holding back in real space since they don't want to flip the table
>>98856004How old are youWhen was the last time you got checked for diabetesWhat is your blood pressureHow often does this happen Do you check your pulse at this time, do you have palpitationsDoes this happen at specific times of dayLess likely to be a vitamin. More likely to be blood pressure or sugar. Possibly thyroid
>>98856679Not the same. The emperor is much less of a dude with a hammer than Sigmar. The emperor could reasonably project his power in multiple places at once, he's like a chaos god. Sigmar doesn't have as much metaphysical presence, and the emperor doesn't have as much physical presence.
>>98856969Sigmar's strongest soldier.
>>98856969
>>98856558
>>98856806glad someone here noticed as well lol since gw is on a nostalgia wave they will likely listen, and i hope that it blows up in their faces. nostalgia pandering is such an abomination to any hobby or media imo
>>98856806>because the setting isn't called 'the old world', the Old World is the not!Europethat doesn't come from total war, it comes from not having a better name to refer to the world than the old world when aos came around, even people who know it's technically a misnomer used it anyway.nobody is calling it the world of legend, that's fucking gay, and if you want something total war did is trying to canonise the name "mallus" for it.
>>98857175Dunno what that retard is on about, the name of the current rank and flank game is the old world, therefore if someone wanted more minis for that game then of course they'd use the current name that is printed on the rulebook and boxes. Honestly sad to see the steady decline in the quality of poster here over the years. There used to be a much better ratio of non retards to seethers.
>>98855130
>>98857175Mallus comes from a 2015 White Dwarf explaining Sigmar referred to the core of the world as that, and then TWW3 said Be'lakor named it that.>>98857183They specifically call the setting "The Old World", and they're usually referring to wanting animated content for it, and usually say "Gotrek and Felix", who aren't born in the time of The Old WorldTM
>>98856000>>98856091
>>98857218>then TWW3 said Be'lakor named it that.that's what I was saying, nobody used it to refer to the world until total war tried itit's a gay name anyway

>>98856904>>98856914Yeah, the circumstances surrounding his use of Guilliman were exceptional, it’s not just something he can choose to do on a whim. It’s less that the Gods are holding back and more the vast majority of their attention is focused on fighting each other. While Sigmar is obviously powerful it’s not like he’s unmatched, something big enough needs to happen to justify him doing something.

why is this edition so ass?
>>98856362>damn that Nurgle one sounds kino actually. Harbinger is probably the best model in AoS, not sure why you're laughing out loud at himI confused him with the rotbringer sorcerer, my bad. Who isn't a bad model just felt very strange considering the rest of the box. The harbringer is great.
>>98857398its the paint by numbers edition. 40k got the same thing in 10th. instead of writing bespoke rules for each army, they wrote template generic rules in a separate document, copy and pasted them all over the place, and just added that armies flavor text to it. somewhere around the middle of the edition they seem to have begun to course correct and are now writing more interesting rules, but the damage is already done
>>98857778>roll a d3 and if it's a 2+ do that much damageare they that scared of someone using a once per turn army ability to do guaranteed 1 damage?
>>98857398>why is this edition so ass?You can ask this about any major GW game right now. And the answer is chasing the tourney scene.
