I'm in the market for a brute that would make a good outcasts leader. The ambot looked good but has a bad leadership.Has anyone got a suggestion about which brutes would make for a good leader? The enforcer robot and squat suit also looked excellent but start with three weapons so less scope for custom loadouts
>>98821468Kinda weird to start an outcast gang without a theme or any sort of vision in mind.
>>98821468Have you tried playing kill team
>>98821468Van Saar spider rig?
>>98821468Czarn the Cyberoth. I used it once for a meme one shot scenarios.Funny.But then again outcast without a theme or at least a goal for it smells like trying to waacfag, which is kind of dumb
>>98821582>>98821829The theme isn't based on the mechanical rules but if you have a statblock you can just fluff it as something Czarn looks (and is in the lore) exactly like what I'm going for. He's not in N26 rules but perhaps could be with arbitration.
>>98821369>bought skirmish gangs of the under hive>cawdor had no articles of faith >barely had anythingAm I missing something? Why even play them? Do I need to wait for the journal for that shit?
>>98822115Yeah
>>98822115Welcome to a new edition. Articles will be back.
>>98822115Is that Jason?
>>98822326Yeah and here’s ghostface killah of the wutang clan
>>98822426Seriously though the gangs of the under hive has none of the shit that makes the gangs unique. And these journals sound retarded.
>>98822442First new edition for you? Yeah, it's retarded and people are retarded for not sticking with the old one, but if you want to play you're gonna have to adapt
>>98822115>>98822326Oh, but he's back! He's the man behind the maskAnd he's out of control!
>>98822587The addiction to hype has done irreparable damage to the hobby
>>98822101>playing N26Why? Is not like the older edition is gone and the new one is so incomplete that your group should wait about a few years, a decade to be sure before switching to it. Anyone doing otherwise is just a blind consumer and should be avoided at all cost.
I like N26 more, but it makes a lot of sense to keep playing the old version until all the gangs in your gaming group get their journals.
>>98822744Seconded - my group've done a few test games, and though the foibles are different, N26 plays quicker and better than N23 ever did. We're waiting for the journals to actually swap over for our next campaign.
Next league match I'm going against wood elves with 235k petty cash and 2 of my sauruses are MNG. Thinking I hire Anqi Panqi and a keg but part of me wants to hire Glotl Stop. Any lizards coaches?
Well you know my name, though you've forgotten I belong to it. I am Gandalf, and Gandalf means Me.
>>98822846Similar. The next campaign will be N23 but we will try N26 for the campaign after
KT QuestionTrying to learn Inquis Agents, playing vs Insidiants next week. Who do I bring as req? I'm thinking exaction, bring some shields and a dog to rush them, then roll up with questkeeper, death vet and penal to finish them off. that limits my gun power heavy though. kasrkin with stand plasma/melta combo feels too standard, against +3 / 9W feels like it might be needed.
Are there any major differences between the different editons of MESBG? Completely new to it and unsure where to start.
>>98823329For my two cents, you should try a few journal-less skirmish games with goofy gangs that you'd never play otherwise - an Oops All Infiltrators Ash Wastes gang, a Venators gang that's an Ogryn with a bike and a Servo-Harness leading a bunch of Ratlings with knockback weapons, stuff like that. Push the rules to their breaking point, find the pain points for you and your group, then discuss potential fixes so you're not hotfixing stuff that annoys you mid-campaign.
>>98824206It’s mostly tweaks as far as I’ve encountered specifically in mesbg. There are more differences with from back in the day vs mesbg. Most of the rules when actually playing are pretty similar but faction rules used to be a lot looser and army selection didn’t revolve so much around heroes and warbands with number of models based on the significance of the hero. You could have pretty mixed and matched lists so long as they were all good or all evil in one side. While I get the point of encouraging “canon” allying I don’t like that it’s pretty much based on the movies. Also all of the hobbit armies are lame (I’m bitter because back in the day I themed my normal dwarf warriors as being from the lonely mountain and elf rangers as being from mirkwood but now to do that id need to use the awful hobbit movie designs)
>>98825049That's the idea, start with vanilla N26 campaigns then see what we like/dislike.We have a fair few house rules we use for N23 to make it better suit us
>>98823042>lizards >minus 2 big lizards>vs wood elvesyou're going to get raped and you deserve it for playing that overpowered cancer team. Best case, you could try to beat the shit out of the wood elves, but wood elves are hard to beat in general if you can't remove them since they're so fucking fast and if you don't have guard they can more or less break your cage and get 2 dice on the ball at will. fuck lizards and fuck lizard coaches. and they don't even really need to do that. they can just force you to score before turn 8 (or prevent you from scoring) and then dakka. you need Cas
>>98825354Why are you so grouchy all the time?
Any suggestions for skirmish rulesets for 40k? My friend and I are going to do a combined aeronautica/skirmish campaign. We were planning on using shadowwar Armageddon for the skirmish component, but there's some stuff in there that's a bit clunky.I had a read through modern kill team, but holy shit is that game fiddly and regimented. It reads more like an esport than a skirmish wargame. We're looking for something that plays well on the tabletop and lets us track progression and injuries between games. Would prefer to have it designed for 40k stuff because generic systems always felt milquetoast to me, but I'm tine with homebrew and houseruling something to be what we want.
>>98825449I enjoy Space Weirdos for general skirmish, specially if I do not want to run a full proper 40k 3rd/4th edition or Combat Patrol 500 points with a lot of limitation to multi wound models and high AV vehicles as for aircraft stuff Voidfighter is good enough. For ships I go for Void Admiral or Battlefleet Gothic, it depends how much tism I want. Also Shadow War Armaggedon is good enough as a game.
>>98825466Sounds like we're on the same page! We've got a 4th group running as well. For the aeronautica bit we're going to use 1e, they've got some lovely campaign rules in there. But I do have the voidfighter book.Haven't heard of void admiral, is that more or less tism than bfg?
>>98825577>Haven't heard of void admiral, is that more or less tism than bfg?A lot less. Unlike the OPR version of the game, the models on the table still feel like a space ship. One issue or selling point if you will is that every fleet only has 4 ship types.Big ship, medium ship, light ship and squadron ship. The difference between each other comes from the weapon layouts, special rules and cost adjustment. Since every ship must have different layouts if you are running more than one of the same type, players can't really spam shit.
>>98825432why are you so gay?
>>98822115>Do I need to wait for the journal for that shit? No, you can just keep the playing the game that you've had for the last decade.
>>98825354But anon I thought you said that in current edition wood elves and lizards were fixed? Could it be that is just a strawman paper tiger excuse for you to rage against the LRB?
>>98826264>>98822699Not when the local store canceled the old campaign mid campaign to start a new one for this new edition bullshit
>>98826273I said they were nerfed, I didn't say they were fixed. lizardman vs wood elves is also the ye old zons vs dorfs or zons vs wood elves match up of lrb6. It's like one of only 2 or 3 really bad match ups for the lizards. it was worse for the lizards in lrb6, but it's still pretty bad. lizards have more counter play with the H cage preventing the leap in, which wasn't a thing in lrb6, you had to venga bus with guard. It's still an inherently bad match up. Assuming strip ball on the dancer and no guard or sure hands on the lizard in LRB6 it was a 65% to get the ball out with no reroll 88% with a reroll. If you do a normal cage without guard or surehands and the dancer has strip it's a 48% with no rerolls and 74%/75% with 1 or 2 rerolls, but you can H cage which makes it a 16%/30% but then you need to be in an H cage which has it's own issues
>>98826324So you need a GW store to arrange games for you?>>98826346Uh-oh, stinky is walking it back now. Can't handle being called out?
Gave my second thrower a blitzer head to alternate the pose, and gave my blitzers some cool death masks to make them more elite
>>98826607Ew, clone poses.Do you not know that EVERY third party option gives you a full 16 roster of unique dudes? GW is bottom of the barrel and their prices don't even justify it.
>>98826607Took a minute to find in the archive but I knew there was an old example in the general somewhere.
I am paranoid that they're going to either update or discontinue Adeptus Titanicus (and by that I mean stop selling AT rulebooks and only sell Legions Imperialis rulebooks)
>>98826723Why? Do you not already own the rules that you (theoretically) actually play games with? Do you not at least have all the pdf's?
>>98826730I've been wanting to get into AT but working on my backlog, so I'm fucking paranoid that by the time I finish by backlog pile that I will no longer be able to buy the starter set.
>>98826738Well there's a simple solution to that if you stop and think about it.
>>98826723>>98826738Might as well buy a 3d printer and download the pdf so you can stall as long as you like. With the recent news of GW losing 400 million in stock, if they wanted to downside their current lineup , legion imperialis and other epic scale stuffs will be the first on the chopping block.
>>98826776How did they manage that?
>>98826792>we are making billions!>if this trend continues we will make zillions!>why are we making this much money?>who cares! time to promise the share holders bazillion dollars that double each month!
>>988267921. They opened too many stores that don't get a lot of traffic beyond initial opening because they do not operate their stores like local game stores, you cannot play inside of them. The initial opening scramble always acts as a "GOTCHA!" as people who have heard about the glory days of GW stores acting as community gaming centers swarm the shop, end up buying things, then quickly realize that they can't actually PLAY in these spaces (they are literally not allowed to and the spaces are usually very small compared to actual local game stores), so the stores become money sinks. Only the Warhammer Cafes operate as traditional local game stores and there's only like, 2 or 3 of those in the entire world. 2. The edition churn model has probably dried up, it was always going to dry up, you can only do 3 year hype cycles so many times before it starts to become too expensive every 3 years as the hype dies down edition after edition3. See >>98826843, indefinite and exponential growth is an impossible goal to maintain, 1 and 2 lead into this but this is the main reason
>>98826776>if they wanted to downside their current lineup , legion imperialis and other epic scale stuffs will be the first on the chopping block.D:
>>98826776They fucking won't.
>>98826415Are you playing dumb or never play an actual campaign of necromunda? Do you want local neck beards playing at your house if they can’t host? Does your gw even allow gaming? My local store isn’t a gw and already in a smaller town. It’s a miracle anyone plays necromunda at all, so it’s either play with the new fucked rules as it develops or not play at all cause everyone wants to use the new rules. Even the few whales who bought all the previous edition shit.
>>98827011>Do you want local neck beards playing at your house if they can’t host? That is literally how I do it yes, I gatekeep the undesirables (gamestores do not) and it improves the experience for the group as a result.
>>98827011Playing Necro at a store is not something I've seen since 2005.Maybe a few demos here and there when N17 dropped, but everyone just plays in random cafes or at peoples houses.
>>98827105>random cafeswhat.
>>98827105Just read between the lines of anons posts, he thinks that buying shiny new thing is absolutely necessary, he's probably got a private local group in his community but is being gatekept from it.
>>98827127NTA but that's how I got a gaming group going when I last had a major move to a new city, I sat down at the cafe a few times a week with my gaming setup on the table in front of my and read books until someone expressed interest (as I have said here a few times before) and eventually interest became a new gamer, it comes with the added benefit of controlling the game and the rules used as your newcomer isn't at an LGS with predefined notions of buying the newest GW thing all the time.
>>98826415are you fucking retarded? you're trying to strawman so fucking hard, retard. wood elves and lizards were OP in lrb6, they've been nerfed, but not enough. wood elves need to be made STR 2 and ma6. lizards need the st4 lizards to lose G access, be 0-2 instead of 0-6 and be st 3 instead of st4you're a queer>>98826607blitz-ra
>>98827167Lmfao, goalpost mover.
>>98827143>I sat down at the cafe a few times a week with my gaming setup on the table in front of my and read books until someone expressed interestWhat the fuck bro you can just go to some random cafe filled with normies and kids, set up a game table like some freak, not order any food and start reading books? What the fuck?
>>98826792>hobby you can do alone goes up during coof when you can't do anything else>hobby does jack shit to retain people when coof ends also you filled the product with gay woke shit that the core audience doesn't likeit's the same thing that happened to vidya and how the retarded hedgefunds like emberacer and microsoft lost a shit ton of market cap and how tinder and bumble both lost like 90% of their marketcap>>98827175I literally never claimed that the current edition was perfect, just that it improve upon LRB6, retard
>>98827143Like holy shit, this is >>98827185 I am still trying to wrap my head around this. You're saying you set up a game table at a random cafe? Just walked in and set up a whole fucking game in a cafe??? Like, did you place the mat down, and the terrain, and the minis, all on the table and then start reading books for a few hours? What if nobody showed up? Did you become The Guy Who Sits with Minis In Front Of Him for several days? Weeks? Months!? What the fuck kind of cafe was this?
>>98827229>>98827185When you don't play fuckhuge 6'x4' games it's no problem.making a custom 15mm scale portable version of the game helps too.A normal cafe, and of course i ordered food and coffee.
>>98827391This should give you an idea of the actual size, basically a football chess set to outsiders.
>>98827435A 7's pitch too for even smaller setup
>>98827435Honestly it doesn't help at all. Your first pictures with dice give a better sense of scale.
>>98827391How many days did you sit there with nobody taking interest
>>98827127In my third world country, some players regularly play shit like Battle Fleet Gothic in cafes.Granted it is a boardgames cafe, but most places do not give a fuck what you are doing as long as you are consuming and not being a retard Hardest part for the average GW player I know.
>>98827675As I said, 2-3 times a week and I had 3 players in about a month and the group grew from their connections, after about a year the group even subdivided into smaller groups based on both scheduling and who liked hanging out with who more.

>>98828033technically the right place, but KT isn't really interacted much here unless there is news
>>98830996There's not a lot to post about. It's like spearhead; one of the best (humble opinion) skirmish rules in a while. But it comes at the cost of a certain granularity or 'paper' cuztomization that really polarizes the skirmish game crowd. Two quarterbacks of the same faction in BB can be wildly different, but in KT a Kasrkin Sarge with a plasma pistol is a Kasrkin Sarge with a plasma pistol every day of the week.
>>98830670Yes.
>>98831100wasn't saying it salt-ily or with angerim on the same page, theres just not much to talk about KT unless theres some new news. outside of like >>98823783 , practically no other team even has any list building. Every time I start writing custom narrative campaigns, i stop and remember there are just better systems for that.
Been working on converting my regular blood bowl goblin team to superior night goblins. You think the belts look too out of proportion?
Kind of new to modern bfg. For the longest time I only read the blue book. Why are there so many ork fleets and what makes them different?
warcry news soon for sure
>>98831549Looks fine to me. Funny thing is, in BB2 the Goblin team were night goblins aesthetically.
>>98830970>2 mng big lizards vs wood elvesyou're going to get raped, and that's a good thing. I voted for this
Got to play a TT game after ages using my black orcs, who i still need to finish painting.Long and short of it, I won 2-1 but because of a cock up on my end (caught wild ball on 4+ but forgot bout rain) I count it as a draw.Still, the Black Orcs performed superb, practically ddstroying half his team. The non loner troll is huge and I have seen how strong grab is. Coming from Khorne, I appreciate the enormous wall of AV. I got mix of lucky due to breaks but rolled two 1/91s and a few 1/9s, but still, im loving black orcs this season.
>>98823190Kino painting, but I wonder if that pose isn't really Gandalf the Greyesque. Grey Gandalf is way too low key for something like that.>>98829436>>98829594>>98829600These all look so cool. I especially love how Bill is sculpted. You paint very well
>>98833885Thanks friend. Probably because the sculptor made it to be both grey and white, with just the hat removed. And funnily enough Bill is the only model of the group that wasn't a lord of the rings release. Same sculptor but he made it as part of some DND terrain set or something, so it's a little bit more cartoony than the others I guess but once he's painted he'll fit right in. Very much hoping I can finish the whole group before November.
>>98833916also, FUCK white spray paint. Will probably print this guy, saruman, and galadriel again and use an airbrush primer instead. That texture is wild through a camera.
>>98833943gray is more consistent.
>>98833943The only white spray paint I use is the rust oleum one. Everything else seems to fuck up big time at random. Same conditions as in stored and shaked, same weather and only the rust oleum one primes consistently everything else need their own little snow flake conditions to work properly. That said it is better to just use an airbrush if you want to prime white.

>>98840553I've beaten wood elves and lizards. that doesn't make them not OP. wood elves were consistently one of the best NAF teams for a decade. >>98845415If you're already playing Necromunda, wait until everyone gets a journal before switching. If you're new, it's nice and easy to start because it only has two months' worth of rules stacked onto each other instead of 9 years'.I think the game works better except that it reduced the killiness a little too much. I haven't played Escher or Goliaths much so the journals might fix that.
Got them all finished up. Was a fun project.
>>98847121>I haven't played Escher or Goliaths much so the journals might fix that.It didn't, it made them even harder to take down with Genesmith being focused on survivability and the best Escher chem is the healing potion.
>>98847342I'm really tired of B team that GW has been using since the last 40k 4th editions codex aka 5th edition codex in a trench coat . The older dudes that stay clearly needed the other guys to wrangle their stupidity and the new ones grew with only 40k as their wargame and it shows.I say this because GW has being doing this crap of not fixing editions and just doing changes for changes sake. For the most part they are not big changes like 2nd to 3rd, but absolute random ranges that add nothing like true line of sigh in 5th or psychic phase in 6th.Same thing in Necro, the few salvageable changes of N26 could simply be a change from 3rd to 4th, but instead it was a change from 9th to 10th. Change for change sake fixing nothing that needed fixing and adding crap for no real benefit. Is not even sales they are after, not with this star wars level of stupidity
>>98847217Based though I have to say they don't come close to the metal minis.
>>98847079They are cute. But how can they carry or hold a ball?
I've neither the funds nor the local interest to justify getting into it, but I always find Epic and Warmaster super fucking cool. Are there any good galleries of just well painted minis for either or some well written battle reports?
Really thought, why did they remove flesh wounds? That shit kept crap weapons being somewhat viable even into the late game. I don't know how many times a stub pistol saved my ass
>>98848807Check out the Warmaster Revolution Journal. Its an annually-published fanzine written by the WMR development team.https://www.wm-revolution.com/articles/wm-journal.html
>>98849371Kino, thanks. The first issue isn't on drive sadly but the other two are.
Yo real talk you gotta play a gang in nuMunda26 that doesn’t have a journal. Who you playin? I did a trial run with cawdor and kinda hate them now. Tempted to run Escher or Delaque.
>>98849767Play the gang that will likely never get a journal : Venator, Outcast, GSC, Chaos, Spyrer.
>trying to get my team ready for the fumbbl cup>play the 15th and final season game>2 mng (one on a blitzer), a niggle and a deathREEEEEEEEEE
>>98849842Really hoping Spyrers do get one that also includes Brats both as a separate gang and as chaff for Spyrers.
>>98849940What team were you and who was the opponent? Sounds rough
>>98850044I was orcs facing chaos
>>98850059Ya that's gonna get nasty with claws and all that. Hard luck but at the end of the day, FUMBBL, is like a very complex, partially controllable slot machine. Sometimes you just pull a rough one.
>>98849767If you played cawdor and hated them then I'm not going to bother, I thought the last set of rules with them was decently fun. Guess I'll just wait.
Since we talking Blood BowlChaos RenegadesBig guysWhy shouldnt i get block on all of them including my delf, orc and skaven?Am i just a nooblet? The amount of times both down has fucked my big guys makes me sad.My strategy isDefense ork and rogre go out one flank and try and pressure and crack the cage while delf, skaven and gobbo go from the other side. Ideally delf handles ball. On offenseSame with rogre and orc trying to clear a flank. If its not going great delf, skaven, gobbo go the other way with linemen backup. Both ways ogre and troll pound the LoS and spare lineman support a flank, screen for breakthroughs or support.Been very fun and successful except dwarves both flavors scoured my booty. Chaod Dwarves with good rolling cleared my entire team by turn 12
>>98848797very carefully
>>98850096he didn't even have claw. the worst part was I tied and should have won. I fucking knocked the ball out on turn 7, he got the god scatter and it stayed in the endzone so I picked it up. he got the knock down and surf (which was mng on the blitzer) and then he got a second god scatter where the ball got thrown in into the endzone within range of his chaos warriorand then I got fucking blitzed on to start the second half. ended up tying while he was bitching about his bad luck after he got like 6 removals >>98850171>why shouldn't Iit's expensive, hard to do since they need to get SPP and takes a long time. you're going to have to rely on cas and MVPs since it's hard to score on then. Plus you can only blitz with one guy per turn so you'll see a lot of teams turning the skaven into a wrestle tackle guy. The delf into the ball carrier, the delf and goblin into ball retrievers if the ball gets knocked out and usually the mino or rogre will get juggernaut since it's easier to get and you're usually blitzing with that big guy anyway. Plus they both have frenzy and it's not hard to get 3 die blocks with the Mino since it has horns. It's dumb that the orc doesn't have S access. Whoever designed it is still mad about smallman's cancer teams. that's why bb2 never got pactThe mino is better than the rogre. The roger is only good on rats/underworld because the negatrate can be turned off so it's pretty consistent for one turn attempts, at least as far as loners go. the mino is better for general gameplay since the tail is kind of niche and horns means you can get a 3 die block with one assist and helps prevent frenzy traps
>>98850410I feel simultameously validated and enraged that after more than a decade of being told the Mino sucks that he is being recognised as a"good" big guy. I used him the way back to BB1 days, pre BB2016 with regular Chaos.3 warriors, 1 mino. Everyone said the 4 warrior start was better and the cow was shit. Now everyone and their mom thinks Mino is great. Fuck the lot of them for not recognising a 6dice block with MB wasn't a major asset! But now that Chaos Chosen are decent and mainstream, my focus has gone to blorcs.
>>98850410I mean that a good explanantion I like rogre over the minotaur due to being able to relocate it and not having a 3rd 16 chance of doing nothing. Ill give the minotaur a try sometime. Ive just being playing pre agreed tv exhibition games.I figure with the new mvp rules of selecting a few players and rolling it would be easier for big guys to accrue spp in something like fumbbl or multi season leagues>>98850470Was Chaos ever bad or non meta? I favor bashing and running so my perspective may be skewed
>>98850478Chaos was very much considered below average/god awful at the start and only got better after many games in a league. Once developed though, they became easily one of the best due to Claw+MB+Piling On. The cow was always considered a non meta choice.
>>98850478To add, Chaos in ressurection tournaments, were considered shit but again, having done well at tourneys, I always knew their potential.
>>98850470the Mino isn't good and he isn't good on chaos. That's why everyone takes the ogre or troll depending on if it's NAF or progression. The mino is just good on pact because he's better than the rogre since the rogre is only good for OTTDs and because the changes to pact from 2016 on made it so that if you aren't playing 3 big guy pact you might as well be playing undead since ogre/troll pact is just shitty undead The mino is pretty bad on chaos and chorfs. >>98850478>I like rogre over the minotaur due to being able to relocate it and not having a 3rd 16 chance of doing nothing.I don't think it's worth it outside of on turns. honestly you'd be better off ogre blitzing since he can move on a 2+ anyway and has better armor and thick skull in the event someone knocks him over. but again, there's literally no reason to play chaos pact without 3 big guys when undead exists so you might as well take the mino since he's better than the rogre and easier to use than the ogre >>98850478>Was Chaos ever bad or non meta?chaos has always been a shitty team outside of high TV clawpomb shit. they have a lot of meat with the 4 warriors and now a troll or ogre, but the lack of block, sure hands and ag2+ means they would get bullied by orcs and other bash teams that could get block before them. they just aren't very consistent. even now, they're worse than nurgle and people usually only play as chaos if the specific rules pack favors them
>>98848807add to this, you gotta be the pebble that starts the avalanche. both games slap the shit out of their 28mm counterparts, so you just need people to try them. there's paper standee armies you can print out to demo.
>>98850573>the Mino isn't good and he isn't good on chaos.YOU aren't good and YOU aren't good on Chaos.I bet you are only STR2 and MA4 with Loner
>>98845415when i see the files i'll have an official take. so far i've only seen the goliath files
>third orc blitzer stat up>third time I rolled MA instead of something good. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEanyway, won my league match vs chaos on a bullshit bub dodge into a full pow into a god scatter. I think I'm guaranteed 2nd place. There's one guy who can leapfrog me for first if he wins out since I have a tie (and he beat me) but he also lost to the guy I just pulled this bullshit on. I think I bub dodged like 3 or 4 times (one of which was literally just to style on the guy and didn't matter at all and I didn't need to do it and it didn't accomplish anything) and they all worked I had to shorten the REEEE because 4chan thought it was spam
>>98850858nah, I'm based. The mino is dumb on chaos because the goats have horns. he's like anti synergistic. the ogre and troll both provide another av10+, ST4+, guard big hunk of meat to supplement the warriors since the goats lost strength access and they're all av9+ so they'll wilt in a straight fight anyway. Same thing with the chorfs. The mino is expensive and they have the bulls anyway and they want their high av meat in contact with the other team. the mino is only good on pact because you need to take 3 big guys anyway and he's the easiest guy to blitz with due to the horns
>>98851188>mfw logic is used against me
>>98851188On a more serious note, that is understandable. Trolls, also a notoriously unpopular Big Guy is becoming my favourite again since adopting Black Orcs again.
>>98851178MA is underrated af man. +2 MA blitzer is the dogs bollix, especially an orc one.
>>98849140Yeah it makes gangers so much more durable. Same as coup de grace now being an action. Now it's much harder to OOA in melee
>>98852541It was on 3 separate blitzers. So I have 1 team with two 7 MA blitzers and one with one 7 MA blitzer. I must have gotten like AV or something because I remember getting block and guard and saving up for a stat up and taking break tackle over whatever it gave me, but I guess I also just really wanted +ST>>98852496What? the Troll is one of the best and most popular big guys because he's so cheap. He just wasn't super popular on the old orc team specifically because he was too expensive to start with if you wanted 3 rerolls, 4 bobs, 4 blitzers and 3 line orcs and people would min max the hell out of orcs back in LRB6 due to claw pomb in tv based matchmaking. People always took the troll in situations where they could afford it and where they didn't need to minmax to avoid clawpombdoesn't the black orc troll not have loner? I will say, with orcs, I don't throw many blocks with the troll and he ends up playing paddy cake a lot with one or 2 guys on the other team on the other side of the field while the game is going on. I mainly use him for LoS blocks and strength/guard bullying/marking. I'm much more active with the human ogre
>>98853028The narratives I have read historically is the Mino is shit (somewhat still consistent) but so was the troll as he requires babysitting. I loved both, but mainly how chunky the troll was.
>>98853028The black orc troll lost loner and it has saved me a lot, as i felt a lot happier activating him. Even if I didn't use a RR on him for Stupid or even a Block, the knowledge I could use it helped and in the rare case I did, it saved me.
>>98853201the troll was ok because he was so cheap. like trolls are obviously worse than ogres as seen by the fact chaos teams will take the ogre over the troll if you give them enough starting gold. the anti trolls stuff was just based on them being too expensive to fit on an orc team and the fact they are worse than like ogres and the krox. I will say, I don't really use my troll very actively. I'll blitz and do a lot of shit with the ogre, but I'll just use the troll to mark people or to put as a corner on the orc wall. the only time he really blocks are 3 die blocks on the LoS and if I really need him to block/it doesn't matter if he goes stupid of skulls out >>98853230yeah the combination of really stupid and loner prevents me from activating the troll as much as I would activate the ogre. I probably should use him more, but orcs already start with mighty blow on both of the bubs so I mostly block and blitz with the bubs

>>98855270he ranked them based off of NAF games played divided by NAF championships
>>98848807I painted up some early '90s Contemptors several years ago. Then got too busy with family stuff and never finished any armies.
>>98848807https://www.specialist-arms.com/epic/epicomp/epicomp12/index.htmlThis site used to have years worth of Epic and BFG painting competitions posted. Now they have one year of Epic and two of BFG. Pity.
on the one hand, it sucks going down men as orcs. on the other hand, it is nice knowing guys will hit the thrower and gobbo over you're actual good players, especially if they have leader and dirty player so you don't have to worry as much about your blitzers or bubs getting hit and dying. fucking guard lineorcs too. other players love blitzing the guard lineorc when they are pretty low cost to get. I do the same thing with humans and OWA, treat the thrower like a lino (well I treat him as more of a blitzer/safety with the orcs because he's AV9+), but on humans especially I don't protect the thrower at all. It's a little more annoying with OWA since it's hard to fit 3 rerolls without a leader and I hate playing with 2 rerolls. That's probably the thing I dislike the most about OWA.
>>98855337NAF championships as in, winning tournaments? That is a surprise considering their lack of access to super stars like Griff.
>>98856776I'm assuming it's either rulespack related or the black orcs just lucked out and beat the shit out of everyone. table top is kind of retarded. 50% of all tabletop players have a sub 10% winrate

>>98856789>the black orcs just lucked out and beat the shit out of everyoneI get that but I would expect Khorne to be where Black Orcs are, as that is their entire gameplan. Was this solely for 2025 ruleset?

My friends are starting warmaster. Right now weve got players that run empire, HE, WE, lizardmen, beastmen, and skaven. I'm going to pick another "bad guy" army to balance things out a bit. Stuck between Orcs, Beastmen, or Vampire Counts. Any suggestions? Orcs seem like a funny army that has cost effective units that are just hard to control, Beastmen seem like they have a cool ambush-based glass cannon playstyle that sounds hard to pilot but fun to play, and VC seems like a slow grind army that really just wants to drown people with chaff before black knights roll up the flank, so a very conventional sounding army. Which of these armies is actually good?
>>98860610Zulu themed Beastmen army. Form up your Ungor Impi's/Ungi's and play every battle with the famous Zulu bull-horns strategy until you win.
>>98860687I'm actually familiar with the horns of the buffalo stuff because I play a lot of /hwg/. How are you translating that to WMR? gors/ungors form the chest, fast cav form the horns, and monsters form the loins?
>>98860767>>98860687Also how do you use your ambush units in this strategy?
Bit of a strange request but are there any anons with legit Chaos BFG fleet who could measure their cruisers from stern to prow? Specifically the Devastation, Murder, Carnage or Slaughter class. An STL I have of those ships is NTS so I had to guess and print them as being 91mm long. I'd be indebted to any anon who can tell me the real length of the models.
All I want is an STL of an Imperial Frigate for my Elucidian Starstriders.
>>98860610VC are one of the best armies in the game, can't go wrong there. Orcs aren't as random as you think, their command sucks but you can take a million characters to order them. same for gobs.Beastmen are prolly hardest of those to get a handle on>>98860939There have to be hundreds of stls that could work for that
Does there exist pdf rules of the current LotR SBG rules? How's the current edition compared to the first one?
>>98857418Nice find bro
>>98847217Lovely. Boromir's pose is pretty funny, since he's doing the CIA Batman pose.
>>98861237Not him but i only played chaos who have solid command structure. For Orcs do you just spam heroes abd commands to get units going, leaving general for last.
>>98860610I have a question for the Warmaster anons. How different is Warmaster compared with Epic aside from obvious 40k vs WFB differences? I saw someone playing Warmaster Ancients when looking into historical clubs to play at with my bf and noticed it had differences to epic but I'm still not clear on the exact differences. we ended up just playing ACW at home so he could fully get into narrative play as a nigra hating confederate general
>>98860939You mean for free? There are some that could fit your faction.
>>98861948Eh.They screwed the pooch by making conversions illegal.
>>98862937What do you mean illegal?
>>98862980I assume he is talking about the retarded trend GW has being doing.>no model, no rulesOne of the issues of said rule is that is not applied uniformly so who gets their shit removed from the rules is totally random.
Would anyone know a good way to imitate that slight orange glow for the example necromancer sauron in the book? I kind of want to try it myself on some models. I have a few ideas but nothing definite so I wanted to see if anyone had some recommendations first.
>>98863245Just house rule it, GW sucks.
>>98863245Why would regular Mordor orcs have their rules removed?
>>98863851Not sure if you did not read the thread, too new to know about GW shenanigans or just pretending to not understand.
>>98864273I might be genuinely retarded. One guy says GW made conversions illegal. Another replied that models have had their rules removed. How does this apply to Mordor orcs?
>>98864410You used to be able to have conversions, like say an orc with a spear and a shield or an orc with two-handed weapon and orc bow or banner and shield. Now you have to take fixed loadouts as they come in the box. I actually hate this the most for Gundabad orcs because GW sells an upgrade kit you can use to give them spears and shields and it's now an either or selection. If you're old enough to remember the LoME days it's like when Prowlers could have shields, spears, and orc bows in addition to their two-handers as equipment and then GW saying actually no Prowlers only have the one thing we modeled them with so eat shit anyone that converted theirs.
>>98864478I see, thank you for the clarification. I'm new to MESBG and not a WYSIWYG kinda guy. I have a couple of """converted""" Mordor orcs because I bought a lot of busted minis and gave them new arms.
>>98864565Some guys have been playing GW stuff for a long time. GW back in the day literally told you "lol just convert it! in fact we will tell you how to do it!" or stuff like "no model? just use a random die cast car and add some random bullshit"
>>98864565>>98862980GW did this to the mainline games back ~5th Edition of 40k, and it's been slowly spreading to other stuff as corporate policy. The idea is partly to strangle third-party suppliers making "better" stuff than they are by locking out all the options they don't currently sell, partly to lock down codexes and releases more for the churn model, and partly to keep their sculptors from having to maintain any semblance of contact with sanity
>>98864565Yeah it sucks. Still very usable in gaming clubs that houserule away that bit of GW retardation or aren't anal about your guys with spears having shields too but not in the rules.
>>98864565Nice banner
Any underworlds enjoyers here? I stopped playing around beastgrave set and recently I was thinking about picking up new starter, but have no idea about this second edition. Should I find and older box with map or just print my own, since I have a lot of bands?
>>98867380New editions boards are smaller than old editions and it's full instead of 2 halves combined , so you can't do the "long hallways" map anymore.New edition removed magic, and warband decks, all cards are universal, and all fighter cards had their texts removed, all warbands have their little gimmicks and 3 abilities to use once per game (very rarely you got multiple uses abilitites). This gave new edition more focus and freedom on deck building aspect, as cards will be the main influence on your playstyle. In old editio you almost always want to use your warband decks, which has great synergy but it will take up half or most of your decks. That said the new edition had its drawback, like warband gimmicks, some are great, some are really bad, no fighter card text removed a lot of souls and personalities from fighters. For example : the dude with meat hooks in the Skinnerkin, in old edition he's a great support fighter who can boost friendly fighter's attack, in new edition he just a regular dude with 0 text, arguably the worst fighter in that warband.... Oh yeah and lots of warband do not have rule (gimmick) in the new editions. GW made a universal gimmick for each of the 4 alliances, give you stat card for all of these gimmick-less warbands, and called it a day. Yeah these universal gimmicks fucking suck. If you like miniatures game with cards play old edition, if you like card game using miniatures play the new edition.

>>98869678Exactly. I used to spend hours making fun little lists and purchased a lot of miniatures due to the listbuilding. Got me excited to play the next time. Now I havent played Isengard at all because my favourite way - named uruks like Lurtz and Ugluk leading a full army of armoured uruks is simply not possible. Especially the brilliant alliance matrix allowed me to dip into different factions in bite sized chunks. I dont understand why GW (and it seems like the majority of the playerbase of GW games) hates alliances so much. It would fit perfectly into Old World as well, for example having some beastmen in a chaos army or some dwarves helping out an empire force. But no, people tend to ban those rules completely for some insane reason.

>>98869649You're the one with a problem, I already have the rules you're waiting for.
>>98868992>who needs necrodamus guys? we have yaktribeKek!
>>98869435>AI found an exploitthere is no such thing as an AI, LLM's give output in language but they do not possess agency, self-awareness, sapience, etc... they are just algorithms. It was Jeets fucking things up."AI" is marketing bullshit that only works because the masses (you included) are dumb enough to mistake linguistic output for a conscious mind.
>>98869836The necrodamus guy was rather funny. For some reason the guy blew up because anon pointed out it some times used homebrew rules without explicitly telling the reader.Never an actual issue, unless they use it like necroraw or the actual books and they stumble upon the little difference leading to unnecessary discussion during a game.
>>98869867>some times used homebrew rules without explicitly telling the reader. That was true for older versions but the 2026 version recently shared did point out all homebrew rule fixes and suggestions. All other changes were compiled from the many FAQ's and errata's there are just so many of those that any one reader can easily mistake an official fix for being homebrew if they haven't read every single FAQ and errata.
>>98869635Right, why not just use the list building from last edition for friendly games?Cool picture btw, thanks for sharing.
>>98869704Allies are good and fun, makes people buy more miniatures they otherwise wouldn't. GW is retarded as always.
>>98862786Nice. Where is this from, anon?
>>98869281my brother in hive that is literally what the point of necromunda is. it's two retards fighting in the dennyicus dinericum parking lot.
>>98871650Thats from Battlefleet Galaxy. But they are not for free.
>>98869852Buddy you have autism
>>98872691That opinion in no way broaches into autism territory, calling an LLM "AI" is like calling a knife a spoon, it's just incorrect and relies on ignorance to perpetuate. And the reason for being specifically correct on that kind of terminology is plain as day in the example at hand, it leads people to believe that a computer is responsible all on it's own for doing a thing, it says the gun shot someone while absolving the person who pulled the trigger AND failing to ask "why was buddy out for a sunday stroll in the middle of a middle eastern warzone?"For the example at hand the PROMPTED algorithm action is not the real issue, the real issue is twofoldA) coding quality control is so lax as to essentially be nonexistent, an overwhelmingly large part of modern infrastructure is built on an unstable mountain of digital garbage that could collapse unexpectedly for any number of reasons due to this incompetency being tolerated.andB) The persons largely entrusted with the keys to to the digital kingdom more and more every day are fundamentally untrustworthy to blatantly malicious, the army of false-credentialed jeets either cannot maintain the systems we rely on, or actively seek to pervert them for personal benefit in some way, whether that be scamming, or being lazy to win ego points at work.Handwaving all this as "AI" is misdirection and marketing at the same time.If an LLM were involved (likely) then the question of import is, who prompted that non-sentient tool to this task?
>>98871812This. They're all crackheads
>>98867961Willing to bet they thought that doing an RPG and a skirmish game would split the potential buyer base, and so they decided to focus on the one they already had in the works.
>>98867961Close but no, GW CEo said no. He wasn't aware until the game was promo'dplaytesting said it was good. so all copies that were ready to go are being landfilled lmao, just like the old baneblades & armageddon starter boxes.GW dont make RPGs was the CEO comment. Sad but oh well. Makes sense from a business POV. Make an RPG and open yourself up to much more competition. Models will be coming standablone tho. Maybe some kind WhW employee will scan/leak the rules. Otherwise its gone forever.
>>98873863>split the potential buyer baseThe buyers from both games would buy from the same model range, where's the split? The RPG would drive more sales from vehicles, terrain like huts, market,.... and characters.
>>98874067Bean counters are retards and for some reason are obsess about what armies are selling and not what models are selling. How we know this? In some old financial report they explicitly state that.
Was the into the dark lorebook reprinted anywhere, and/or does anyone have a pdf of it? I can't find it for toffee and it's also the ONLY FUCKING SOURCE OF KROOT LORE
>>98869704What you have to understand is that the advent of the internet and with it mathhammer, netlisting, and the rancid stinking WAACfaggot has created an almost indelible association in the minds of most people between list building and trying to fiddle and break the game mechanics to win more easily.Every edition of any game where GW give people more listbuilding freedom, half their audience don't care and continue autistically collecting the single army they love, 10% are ecstatic at the chance to build new, thematic, fluffy, interesting army lists, and 40% immediately try to figure out how to make a kurbstomping list and take it to the local store to seal club. This has only gotten worse in recent years once GW pivoted to their shitty "T-Sports" strategy and swapped out their die-hard "core" audience from being autist grogs and fluff nerds who didn't buy enough stuff, to being rabid tourneyshitters of the most heinous bent who will happily rebuy an army every 6-12 months based on "balance updates".
>>98872733You're having a melty bud
>>98871812>>98873783Sadly not anymore. In the nufluff gangs are supposed to be Elite Operator Mercduders who do missions at the behest of their faction leadership and are penpals with the Imperial Governor. Gangs of dregs and outcasts scrapping over trivialities so far beneath the sight of their betters in the Hive that the only time they're even thought about is when the nobles decide to hunt them for sport went out with N17, now it's all Fate Of The Galaxy bullshit.
>>98874938>Fate Of The GalaxyNo it's not, it's battle for profits, not battle to revive the Emperor.
>>98874929Avoid official GW tourneys, make your own narrative ones and ostracize local WAAC-faggots.Listbuilding freedom is a good thing, it shows peoples true colors.
People are saying Munda 26 is an entirely different game. I’ve only briefly skimmed the core rules but so far only cover, range, and saves, seem a little different like they’re rolled into one.
>>98875390Then you need to read again, also read about type of action, campaign cycle, fighter type, exp, advancement, trading post point, moving and initiative, combat and initiative, gang composition, scenario crew selection.
>>98875390>>98875510Forgot there're also status, injury, injuries and skill, ammo, lethality and damage.
>>98875291I know, I was simply explaining to confusedanon why the current situations exists, dipshit.
>>98874938This dude thinks a cholo is an operator just because he carries a rocket launcher in Chiraq.
>>98874977It's the battle to rule the world, which is such a vital lynchpin of Imperial logistics that the wrong outcome to that battle could literally collapse the Imperium. No matter how you frame it, the stakes are too damn high compared to Grug-Grug the Goliath exile & crew fighting The Sniveller and his scavvy mates for control over Outflow 7866816-Gamma and with it the rights to extract biofuel from the uphive sewage that slops out of it, or Kevin The Burninator's plan to bring down a fiery Redemptionist purge on the inhabitants of Little Sumpton which they totally deserve because of like mutants and stuff and not because 10 years ago the mayor made fun of Kevin's hooded mask for being floppy, or whatever, which is what Necromunda *was* about. The entire notion that our gangs should be even tangentially, peripherally involved in the succession of the fucking Imperial House is fucking moronic and if you disagree you are legitimately fucking retarded.
>>98875681>It's the battle to rule the worldAre you on about that one off Saturday Cartoon Aranthian campaign that's already over year ago? Where the villain lost and ran away and then everything is back to normal? Wow such an important "fate of the world" occurent.
Reading the Chem alchemy rules in N26.WTF is this? It's pathetic compared to N23
>>98875670Go fuck yourself, asshole.
>>98875390It all adds up
>>98875691>one offNigga it was three books and they ain't dropped dat narrative yet nigga there's finna be more Aranthian stuff as of the roadmap nigga
>>98875932Are you still fighting that Aranthian "for control of Necromunda" in 2026? If that's the case it's another case of "retard fighting for trivialities"
>>98875932>>98875939Forgot picture for mood settling.
>>98875390I wouldn't call it a whole different game. N95 -> N17 was a new game with the switch to alternating activations. This is just an edition change. It's a bigger change than any between 3rd and 7th ed. 40k, though.>>98875836I kinda like the game being "flatter" between different gangs. Save the crazy stuff for when the game's four years old and we're starting to get bored.
>>98875965>This is just an edition change. It's a bigger change than any between 3rd and 7th ed. 40k, though. So a new game. Like the change between 1st/2nd later 3rd to 7th, 8th to 9th to now 10th to 11th.If stuff are not really compatible between editions then it is a different game.
>>98874067You'd be surprised at how idiotic the people in charge of shit are. Like, CEOs and bean counters cancel entire toy lines in response to the "wrong" demographic embracing it, even if the numbers show increased sales, because someone had a bright idea about who should buy what game or toy line. Adults start buying a kid's game? Cancel it! Girls buy boy's action toys? Cancel! Wargamers buy a roleplaying game? Never shall the stream cross, cancel it!
>>98876403Kinda suck because the RPG is probably the only place where Vehicles might be enjoyable to play.
>>98876421Well to be kind of honest you could simply use the Dark Heresy ruleset. The system is detail enough that you can play it as a wargame. As for point system you can always use the experience points. The random enemy "cards" already look like something out of the Necromunda character cards
Orlock release next week, which is probably why they did that Necromunda article a couple of days ago.https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/1bpkd6my/sunday-preview-orlocks-rule-the-roads-of-necromunda/
>>98877156Are there people out there that these models appeal to?
>>98875681It's like how Fast and Furious 1 was stealing TV/VCR combos and now they work with/for the CIA and go to space.
>>98878434>and nowDon't tell me you still watch that shit past the first movie.I didn't even know they still made them. The only thing that even sticks with me from that movie is the part where vin diesel is talking about speed shifting, granny shifting and double clutching. There is no reason on the face of the earth for a guy into racing cars to even know what double clutching is, it's a shifting technique for large commercial trucks and hasn't even been relevant for those in over 30 years, it was only ever necessary for very old transmissions and the term was dropped into the movie to sound smart when it actually sounds stupid to anyone who knows about it.they also never showed speedshifting in the movie either, every single time any scene showed any racer shifting they were always granny shifting.I don't know why, but I think about it from time to time and it irritates me.
>>98875681At the same time, yes, there can be big, galaxy shaping events going on.But, you still have our little crackheads fighting each other for crack and having no idea of what's going on around then. They're like ants going to war, unaware that humans are about to build a house over their little bit of dirt.>>988784345 was the last good one sadly. But it's crazy going back to watch the first and how grounded and low level it is. Even the "skill" of the drivers isn't anime style bullshit.>>98875965I get what they're trying to do. It just felt like so many options taken away though. Same as gene smithing.IMO keep it, BUT, detune it heaps so you still have flavour but it's not this massive impact.>>98878621They're not comedies bro. I was like you when I first watched them and Reeeed. Same as using NOS late, IRL you use it immediately. Or all the other nonsense. IMO1-5 worth a watch, dumb fun movies.6-8 they're ok I guess. Only watched them once and didn't enjoy them, but didn't absolutely hate them.9+ unwatchable garbage
>>98878902There's more than 4?! Fuck. And no, 2 was unwatchable garbage.
>>98878621>it's a shifting technique for large commercial trucksOn the upshift, yeah, so it was a silly thing to say in a drag race. Downshifting, it *should* be unnecessary these days, but some cars just shift more smoothly if you do it. SkyActiv Mazdas are less than 15 years old but they're getting a reputation for bad synchros between 2nd and 3rd. You also see it all the time at the 24 Hours of Lemons. My mom taught me to downshift that way because her first cars sucked. I'll keep doing it until I lose my left leg or they make me go electric.
>>988790172 is definitely the weakest of the first 5 but it's watchable. It's dumb fun. It's like watching Commando, art, no, enjoyable, hell yeah>>98879212No new car you should be double clutching. That's insane. My car you can almost flat foot shift.
>>98875944That would be a mood, if it wasn't for the fact that all Aranthians are simply brainwashed. It's such a lame ass Saturday cartoon ass reason for him having loyal subjects. A civil war on necromunda would have been so easy to turn into absolute kino, but they blew it
>>988782332x Pimpy 3x Bape
I ended up turning my Warcry Iron Golems into a Frostgrave warband by adding minis and parts from other Warcry boxes. I liked Warcry, but I was always hoping it'd turn into Mordheim and it didn't.
>>98880478You should check out Wyrdcry if you haven't yet.
