If you're playing bo1 in timeless, or even historic, you need maindeck graveyard hate. Surgical extraction goes in every deck I make for those formats. Leyline is good if you're in black, Rest in Peace works but is likely a turn too slow for timeless. Surgical hits them turn 0-1 regardless of deck color or who went first. If you're playing blue force of will for timeless and force of negation for historic are a must.

Reanimator isn't even the best deck in historic, the best decks are both essentially fair decks with yawgmoth and goyfs. From Bronze to Mythic in three days. I played U/W in standard. Holy fuck is this a miserable experience to play against. I had games where I was dead to rights, but people conceded after a meaningless counterspell because this shit was too fucking annoying. Normally I hate control decks that rely on planeswalkers, and I still do, shit is gay as fuck, but Jace is just so fucking powerful, he wins all by himself. I cannot think of a single matchup that was not slanted in my favor. The only bad matchup is landfall and that's because I am budget and don't have enough petrified hamlets to stop Ba Sing Se. Every other deck folds under the power of the card advantage. Except Mono-U control which only came up twice and I lost twice to it.
The budget on my lands wasn't too bad since I always had a lot to do with Plunder the Trollshaws, but I can think of a few games where I would have won if I had fountain port, theorist's sanctum, or another Hamlet. If anything there were a lot of times I was going to discard to handsize so I played things on my main phase to get them out.

It's funny, cause I put jennies in the sideboard since I switched up my lands when I initially made it. I used to have some lands that tapped for g/w in case a game goes to that point, but autotapper has nearly ruined so many games, I took the g/w lands out and put her in the sideboard since I wasn't getting full value out of her. Maybe if I get better lands that won't fuck with autotapper I'll switch it back up.

the emeritus don't need to worry about removal, because I never use them to stabilize, but only to put the game to bed. If anything I find them pretty overkill for card advantage. I've done the funny, Soulstone+Emeritus combo, but that was overkill. I've done the funny Three Steps+Emeritus combo, but that was overkill. If anything, i think captain marvel is a better stabilizer/finisher. Emeritus, I think should be in U/B reanimator, but I never see them run him.

U/B seems to be in a weird place in general. What's wrong with it? It seems more powered down than it was when I last played a month or so ago.

Because brawl has less consistency by nature. So most midrange or combo decks have to depend on certain spells resolving to turn a corner which control excels at. Aggro can get shut out after control turns a corner as well. So basically control is best strat for winning in brawl. It's not fun, but it does win, which for some people is fun.
If there was multiplayer in brawl, this would open things up a bit.

I did that one, because I had one Overwrite Multiverse card in my collection, and didn't want to spend it on that shitty 5 mana Jace. Mobilise cards, and a ton of white 1/1 token spells. 4x Hour of Victory to search for Overwtie the Multiverse, and it was enough.

Just 7x mana from this Loot and XXX-Prepared to do. And it's hard. I tried to do counters deck with him, but those games are all over before I can manage to get it going. Still, I guess it's the only way to do it. 7 creatures, each different power, then it should work. I guess I need to get into some sort of stalemate.

I've had a lot of success against lifelink with mono black with removal, mono white with fliers and this Hydra >>98825969, and jeskike planeswalkers.

They're weak against fliers and pack predictable card draw, if you manage to stall their progress, they're toast.

One version of my current mono black. Can win against anything, but it can also loose to anything owing to unpredictable power curve. End the Hunt/Brake Under Pressure are fantastic against planeswalkers and all kinds of indestructible/hexproof creatures. They're just not as common opponents, so I'm not using as many as I used to. Main tactic is just to discard opponents whole hand, then control them with own card advantage. Creature Liliana is bit off. In theory you pull her back from graveyard with Ral, to do her exhaust thing to pull back Garruk or Lilliana, but it's really not easy to execute. I guess I should revert to bats instead.

Only deceit is a problem. Spiderman only does one thing once. Deceit makes it impossible to answer cleanly because it thoughtsiezes your answer and if you get another one, it takes that away. I remember a saying when retrace and buyback was being discussed, "Some things should only happen once"
