Autumn colors edition
Thinking of buying an rf800mm I need more reach
Based, birds and autmun colours is the best combo>>4535213Nice but the white balance seems a little off
>>4535257>fixed f11Be aware of what you're getting into. The 200-800mm f/6.3-9 is about twice the price but easily twice as useful. Heavier too, if that's a consideration.
>>4535250Nice colors, shame it's not looking towards you>>4535251Cool perspective >>4535213You the R7 anon from last thread? Really nice catches all around
>>4535303>You the R7 anon from last thread? Really nice catches all aroundI am, thank you anon.>>4535287>Nice but the white balance seems a little offToo cool you think?
>>4535306Yes, the wb here looks better imo
>>4535296Its more to be a companion to my rf100-400. I don't see the rf200-800 as worth it given the price and size. I'd rather use that money and buy an ef100-400ii for the better image quality then use the rf800 as a companion to that or even just use teleconverters which may be about as sharp as the rf800 anyway>>4535303Love fluffy cloud like birds
Getting cold. Time to feed them seeds and fat balls.
>>4535328Aw yeah 'tis the season for them, and I've been in luck since they were super chill
Early morning stroll, was happy to get these two in the same frame. I've been stuck in a rut for a long time, so this was great even if the 500 reach wasn't ideal
i took dis snap like 35-40m away (>3500mm equiv.)is it any gud?PD: yip, i kno there was lotsa bacteriae alike shit on muh sensor
>>4535330I've heard fat balls are now discouraged, apparently they lead to lower rates of breeding
Saw coots today for the first time and went overboard and took 300+ pictures of them
>>4535514I envy the reach. Had a 52x zoom but it was hard to shoot handheld at the max zoom and the quality left much to be desired
>>4535698
>>4535698>>4535699Very cool anon. I got a nice deal on a Canon AE-1 at a thrift store with a 200mm zoom lens so I ordered some B&W film and stuff for developing so I plan to try to get some bird pictures with it. Will be my first film experience. Also, been out just before sunset the past couple days and have had horrible luck with the birds. Only a couple good shots
I rarely see these guys so im stoked to have gotten a couple photos, even if they aren't great in terms of detail and composition

>>4535982Forgot my picture
>>4535521It's more complicated, there's no definitive answer. It depends on the species, the season, and what you feed. Cornell has done a study on that. The explanation is that winter feeding may help birds in relatively poor condition survive and breed, and because these birds can only raise a few chicks, they pull down the population’s average breeding success. So fat balls may be keeping weaker birds in the breeding pool rather than directly harming healthy ones. Their conclusion isn't that fat balls are bad.Other universities have done studies that say otherwise: Birds fed in winter may lay eggs earlier and produce more fledglings which helps support declining populations where there are poor natural conditions.General rule for fat balls: don't use low quality balls with cheap oils, don't let them go rancid, don't use them past winter so parents aren't tempted to feed birdlings with them in spring. They need proteins to grow, not fat.Don't let the feeders become too dirty or overcrowded as it can spread diseases. Don't feed birds all year round, or at least swap seeds and fat for mealworms and various larvae during spring.Bird feeding becomes a net negative when you poorly manage it.
Lil bro now striking poses whenever he sees me with the big white in the garden.

A great blue heron from this morning. ISO 8000, but it cleaned up OK.
The weather has been a bit shit here so couldn't get myself out in the early morning but will have to suck it up as sun is going down too soon now. This little bugger got attacked by crows so he was resting a bit, but this tree canopy sucks for taking photos.
allowed to post again it seems
dunno if i ever posted a bunch of these i been ip banned for a couple months
>>4536633>>4536634>>4536635>good photo posterIP banned>nophoto cANON and his team of OLPF retards?on the looseNice photos. Especially the one with a hummingbird.
>>4536699>and his team of OLPF retardsI only ever post about OLPF for your reaction, Sony autist. Of course weak OLPF is better than none at all but the fact that you want to deny it being a problem with Sony and blame Adobe instead is hilarious. The moire autist showing what C1 did to that mortar to "fix" moire (AI guesswork) was the final nail in your shill coffin.Just yesterday I was looking for some lederhosen photos for quick reference while talking to a friend. The entirety of results were AI pictures. The future is grim, and it's largely mirrorlessfags' fault for gobbling whatever breadcrumbs the system throws at them. It's the future you chose, being a slave to the machine that runs the desert of the real. The inevitable revolution will be registered on emulsions exposed in reflex cameras made from raw materials.
>>4536742He reminds me of a Bear, cool.
>>4535250nice catch anon have an old favorite of mine, got lucky with the little guys eating a worm for morning breakfast

>>4536824Oh yeah, but lovely subjects as well. I want to get close enough to get the green/blue eyes contrasting with the yellow beak nicely. On a sidenote, do any of you anons reckon those Chinese printed cloaks would be a good investment for camouflage?
Literally a juvenile blackbird
