The price of classic cameras is getting outrageous. The 7ii is now $6,000.

    >just film on digital

Some of us consider ourselves camera historians, but now it is literally impossible to get most of the classics due to zoomers buying them up and cranking up the costs.
    >>
    >>4526799
    It's all digital, dumbass.
    >Some of us consider ourselves camera historians
You're not a historian, you're a hoarder who doesn't take photos. If you were a historian you'd have only a few 1800s and 1900s cameras and a massive amount of research into the field, you wouldn't be rage scrolling ebay for meme cameras you heard about on reddit.
    >>
    >>4526799
6k with how many lenses? 3?? It's an incredible camera, but a little overrated imo.
    >>
    >>4526799
    >other people want this for the wrong reasons and therefore shouldn't have it
    >it should go to me instead because my reasons are correct

    lol

    But why?
There are other hobbies you know
    >>
    >picks the ultraclassic of classic cameras
you can get other shit for non retarded prices
    >>
    >>4526799
good, no one can own anything, fuck you
    >>
    >>4526841
    I own a mamiya 6 with 2 lenses. I got years ago.
    >>
    >>4526818
Most photos are taken by poor people anon.
    >>
    >>4526799
Zoomers don't have that type of money.
Also stop crying. You can always find something for cheap on the used market if you venture outside of your comfort zone.. what's that? You need money back guarantee and free shipping? and you have to only buy this thing that you desire instead of looking for good deals in general? OK, pay market price on ebay then.
    >>4526817
These are the same folks who are seething if somebody finds something cheap out in the wild because "they should have left it for the next hypothetical person in need".
    >>
    >>4526851
You can still find a lot of things cheap on ebay. You just gotta be patient and knowledgeable.

I'd like to have a Pentax 67 or mamiya 7ii cause my current mamiya rb67 it's good but also the widest lens is only 50mm which isn't quite wide enough. They're also lighter and easier to use, but yeah they're way expensive, at least the Pentax 67 with a 45mm is cheaper than a 7ii with a 43mm. I could buy either of these cameras if I wanted to, but I refuse to spend used car money on a film camera that might shit itself out of principle. If I'm gonna spend that kind of money, 3-6k, it would be better spent on a digi upgrade. Shame cause I love shooting medium format film
    >>
    > now it is literally impossible to get most of the classics due to zoomers buying them up and cranking up the costs.
    >Noooo you can't buy cameras and use them to take photos, only vintage "historians" (faggots) like me are allowed to buy old hardware
    seethe chud
    >>
    >>4526799
    >why is it expensive to assemble my own personal museum of highly desirable out of production clockwork?
    idk
guess you're collecting vintage medium format folders instead
    everyone gets a mamiya six

only you could make a photo with an Rb look like it was taken on an iphone 4 by a diagnosed retard. truely the most egregious talentless gearfag that board has ever had the misfortune of seeing.

Not him, but editing slide film is pretty tricky. I bet it is pretty fun to look at in person.

consider graduating to funko pop collecting
you could consider yourself a funko pop historian then, it's the exact same thing in practice
    >>
    >>4527419
I cant take pictures of my 8 cats with funko pops tho
    >>
    >>4526799
ok cool why didn't you post this in the gear thread though
    >>
    >>4527592
you can do that with your phone
    >>
    >>4527598
But where is the novelty in that?
    >>
    >>4526799
For around $900 you can have a mint Bronica SQ-Ai with a 50mm lens and a metered pentaprism. Bronica is great stuff, jump on it before it gets ruined too.
    >>
    >>4526799
    >it is literally impossible to get most of the classics due to zoomers buying them up and cranking up the costs
you should be happy that people are enjoying things you have a passion for
    >>
    >>4531477
But you don't understand. Only he's allowed to enjoy things. Other people who enjoy the same thing are fake poser hipsters that only enjoy things out of spite. When he buys a camera the whole world cries with joy but when someone else buys the same camera model it's only to fuck him over and make the prices higher.
4channer mentality is something else. This place needs to be studied.

Where is the novelty in taking cat pictures with a medium format camera?
    >>
Or you could buy classic cameras that actually take classic looking photos? My main camera is a 70's compact rangefinder with a fixed lens that I got off eBay for 60 USD. OP's picrel is for people who want to say they shoot film but would be better off just shooting digital. I know "character" is an annoying buzzword right now but it's the one most legitimate reason to shoot film. Unless you don't care how the photo actually looks in which case why not just shoot digital? I guess that's a little narrow minded but I just find it odd to buy such expensive film equipment for the purpose of technical prowess when that's exactly why digital took over.
    >>
    >>4526799
    idk
in my opinion lugging around medium format camera just to post low res scans on instagram is retarded
I would never use my Mamiya 645 if I wasn't doing wet prints
    >>
    >>4532088
    >when that's exactly why digital took over.
You're buying retconned nostalgia. Digital took over because it's cheap and easier to work with.
    >>
    >>4526799
    >zoomers buying them up and cranking up the costs
It's more a hype and rarity thing. Also it was 4k new in 1999 dollars and inflation is a thing.
    >>
    >>4526860
What a dodgy setup you have there anon, may I suggest upgrading to 6 ton jackstands if you're going to lift that high? Is there some rotten metal making you have so many jack up points (would be strange on a French car of the era)? Were you replacing the LHM? Can I see some interior shots? Very nice car, please forgive the autism from getting overly excited for what seems like a nicely kept rare youngtimer. There's one of those here but they're parting it out, sad fate. Too expensive for how harsh the depreciation hit them and too low commitment on Citroën's side with support after EOL. I suppose in the EU they are more workable.
    >>
    >>4526799
I just bought myself F65, F75, F80 and F80S before the zoomers discover them.
They can keep their manual metal clankers.
    >>
    >>4526913
My theory is people who collect old camera gear would rather deliberately destroy their gear than sell it lower than their decided price floor

    >>
    >>4534200
Yes, I fucking love it. Makes retards sell their "broken" cameras for pennies.
    Protip: Ethanol.
    >>
    >>4534181
You know those people will eventually die and the gear end up in the hands of people who do not care, right?
    >>
If you want cheap stuff for less than "market value" then don't buy from camera companies or resellers. It is really easy to get things for way less than what they charge, but if you absolutely have to have some sort of specific thing and have a reassurance that everything is top notch then good luck. I'm getting tonnes of cheap stuff by looking at the newest listings in my local market place and buying things in lots. Buy stuff, sell excess crap that you don't want, use your photographic experience to take better photos than the normies you bought it from, sell to some hipster who want said piece of equipment, for a more established market price, rinse and repeat a couple of times and you are able to purchase the hyped crap you want without anything spent other than some of your time.
    >>
    >>4527035
That's what you previsualized; show some actual good pics you took (you can't)
