I drive with my old g25 and I get a shit ton of feedback, I can feel the smallest things with no fancy modern direct drive wheel. I can skate and slide a skip barber around the track. I can feel the smallest flat spots develop if I lock my brakes up. I mostly play Assetto Corsa 1 for the content but Rfactor 2 is the best. It needs to be revived somehow. It's the best sim out there just sitting there not getting content or being played by the community much, so much wasted potential.
I guess im going to take the asetto corsa pill again. where do I find a good corvette c5.r mod? rss is missing that car from their gt1 lineup

Try these settings if you're on a belt driven wheel and also use a custom lut file, it's not that hard to do but I have heard some people on windows 11 run into problems with wheelcheck. I'm on 10 iot ltsc so no problem here. Also, adjust ffb gain for each car accordingly so there is barely any clipping (curbs or crashes don't count).Seriously ams2 is fun but it can't compete for car feel. Assetto is not that far behind rfactor 2, it just doesn't feel right out of the box.

Got into Viper Racing later on with a controller (such an underrated class sim). Finally got my first wheel to play GTR2 in 2007, switched to LFS in 2009, Rfactor 2 in 2015, and Assetto in 2019. I'm also a fan of Beamng but I cannot stand the direction it's going with all of the BS resource hog updates.My point is, I like sim racing, I have a history with. I like Assetto Corsa. It's a shame it overshadowed Rfactor 2, but part of that just had to do with the amount of content it provided out of the box with no mods necessary and one more glaringly huge advantage most other sim racers don't have enough of... that's street cars. Street cars are great fun, pliant, fun to slide, looser and more dynamic. It's mainly the street cars that got me into assetto. I love an h box, I love a clutch, I want to heel toe and do all of my own rev matches, I love lifting on my upshifts, I want left foot braking to be a calculated decision and not a default, and I want to do some sliding. Asseto offered more cars like that, other sim racers missed that market, and they'd be wise to make up for it right now. I love assetto corsa 1, it's filling a niche other sim racers fail to fill for some reason. Vintage and street cars are where it's at. I don't want flat foot shifting, I don't want auto rev match downshifts, I don't want cars that hate to slide, I don't want flappy paddle shifters, I definitely don't want any abs or traction control (absolutely disgusting), I don't want my left foot to do all of the braking just sitting on the brake pedal literally the entire time.And assetto is just a good sim overall once you set it up right and this is one avenue that needs improvement. Wheelcheck and lutgenerator need to be encouraged and come with the game, there needs to be a tutorial of how to generate a lut file.

GT3 has been caning my ass so I googled to see if I'm just bad or not. Consensus seems to be that the game is kinda retard hard but switching gas/brakes to the right stick instead of using face buttons that go ham instantly is optimal. I've tried it a little and not being a racing game player it's taking some getting used to. I hope I can master it because spinning out on every corner in my Lotus Elise while desperately trying to keep up is frustrating.
