To be honest, I haven't listened to DIIV in ages, I liked Oshin and is the is are, some say Deceiver was really good, but to me Oshin is the best one, this album is mid, maybe because I stopped listening to this type of gay Post Punk + shoegaze formula when I realised I was no longer 16.

This album is just mid, I would say it has some good riffs and so on, I think DIIV was kinda known back in the early 2010s alt hoes were the ones that show me this, and I fell I was when shoegaze had a major comeback thanks to /mu/ and RyM so I kinda get nostalgic because highschool was a great era for me, still, nothing new, same crap trying to replicate an already perfected formula.

5/10

Songs I liked in no particular order:

Us against you
Evangelizer
Underground
Kid
Idiot in the sky

The production quality is good, the album sounds pleasing and it has good riffs. Other than that, it didn't blow me away but I did like a few songs like Us Agaist You, Kid, Evangelizer and I might be forgetting a couple more.
To me, Deceiver was stronger and Frog was their peak. It's an alright album that might be the least interesting in their discography for now.

I liked their gruge sound lately. Haven't listened to ZIRP yet.

Oshin, Is the Is Are and Deceiver are all fantastic to me. Frog In Boiling Water didn't age so well for me. This one is better than Frog, but not by much. Maybe I'm too blinded by the early stuff to appreciate the last two records, but they just don't hit outside of a couple of songs. The Fountain had me excited for the whole record, but the next 3 singles just kinda were bland. I don't really care if they 'go pop', but at least make it more interesting.

it drives home the theme of the song/album in a way. The MV is just AI talking to itself/other AI while scrolling an endless schizo rambling website. I also liked the In Amber and Little Birds one.
