What's the crowd like at Autechre concerts? Do people attempt to dance or does everyone just stand there until it's over?
>>131996081i believe youtube has the answer
>>131996101Like the CEO?
>>131996112people dance, which i know because i watched a video of their live show on youtube
>>131996081i love greenwich foot tunnel :)
>>1319960815% normalfags who don't know anything about them5% IDM tourists who expect them to play "the classics"90% autists who know what they're up to and just want to listen to the set
some people dance, I've danced, good thing it's dark tho lel
>>131996081When I saw them a few years back it was a seated gig, so not much dancing happening there. Also, it is literally pitch black, so it’s not as if you can see people dancing anyways
>>131996081the audience is compromised entirely of men who look like they could be in autechre wearing graphic t-shirts with the occasional one who brought their busted short non-white wife. no dancing, listening only.
I happen to quite like their sort of music but even so, at that point, isn't it closer to one of those album playback listening parties than a concert in any sense of the word?
>>131996486totally opposite actually
>>131996081I really like a lot of their 90s work but my god these guys disappeared completely up their own ass. I always go back to what rdj said when asked about the drum programming on drukqs>"The most important thing is that it should have some emotional effect on me, rather than just, 'Oh, that's really clever.'"Autechre have fallen into the "let's be clever" bracket
>those foids last year complaining about "eww too dark, someone will rape me!" on reddit
>>131996486>>131996493Ackchyually both is kind of true. They don't see a distinction between live sets and albums anymore, and their soundboard releases are basically their new albums according to them. But there are genuinely variations every single time, sometimes more, sometimes less. So it's not like they're just hitting play either.
