The whole situation doesn't even make sense. I've been playing bass for over a decade and this faker is still leagues more talented than me. His fingering is that of a professional who has dedicated his entire life to mastering the instrument. Yet hes clearly using a backing track and not actually playing.

He'd probably be revered if he made mistakes (then again, I never heard of him until recently, so maybe faking was the only way to 'make it'). But even the masters of the instrument don't play so perfectly. Victor Wooten, widely considered the greatest living bass player, can't play with consistent dynamics all the time, because he's human.

It's like throwing away all those decades he spent learning all those techniques, even if he couldn't replicate them 100% of the time (which is totally normal). So bizarre. Faking takes some skill too, and I don't understand why people would sink their time into that.
