>ouchie fingies hurt :(grow a pair of BALLS
>>131988349if anything you as a musician should understand that the muscle memory takes awhile to build.. unless you are some shite self taught pianist with zero technique
>>131988395I don't care about that, it's all the extra shit you have to do on guitar to make it sound even remotely decent, not to mention how much more awkward chords are. It's just all-around less intuitive
>>131988435>unless you are some shite self taught pianist with zero techniqueI have "technique" but it's probably wrong
>>131988447What do you mean? Because learning to avoid shit like fret buzz should've been mastered by week one. If you're still struggling with something that basic you might be slightly retarded
I got you senpai.
>>131988468probably referring to string muting
Try starting off with a Classical Guitar, they're generally more beginner friendly than steel string acoustics
>>131988468You mean muting? Yes that's one of the things I'm talking about. Isn't "fret buzz" a mechanical issue?
>>131988532I'm learning electric anyway, which I guess is supposed to be easier than both
>>131988534>Isn't "fret buzz" a mechanical issue?can be but most of the time it's caused by beginner/poor technique
>>131988534muting takes awhile to get good at, avoiding fret buzz is just a matter of putting your finger in the right spot on the fret. and I can almost guarantee most guitarists are sometimes accidentally buzzing a lot further in to their playing than the first week
>>131988349>>131988395you cant rush itmake them hurt everyday, yesbut once they start hurting, stopand continue next daytheres no point playing "until they bleed"as a beginner, what you might gain learning pushing yourself so faris offset by the longer ensuing down-time you need to recover
>>131988349that pain & frustration youre experiencing is one of the greatest pleasures you can experience in life. welcome to real life, and just know barely anyone does this kind of stuff. remember to practice every day & never take a day off & yr. set.
>>131988553>which I guess is supposed to be easier than bothit isn't. Electric tends to have a lower action than classical but classical guitars and nylon strings tend to be more forgiving
I play both but mostly guitar, and first of all frustration with learning a new thing after you're already good at something similar is unavoidable. I'm experiencing that right now trying to learn to sight-read notation when I've mostly played improv, I suck at it and it's frustrating and makes me want to just go do what I'm already good at.piano and guitar are pretty different, in fact piano is somewhat unique as an instrument in the fact that the issue of the note tone and texture is pretty much solved for you by the instrument, you press the button and the note comes out. and piano maybe more than any other instrument gives you the most freedom of motion to where you can use all 10 fingers and play music that brass or woodwind instruments would need a quintet for.guitar isn't monophonic but it's a lot more limited. one annoying thing is there's not a 1:1 between notes and hand positions because most notes appear multiple times on the fretboard, so for any given song you have to find the best way to position and move your hand where the chords or sequential notes are close to each other.the difficulty with good tone is something you'll deal with in most non-keyboard instruments. guitar shares the challenge of piano in the issue of just moving your hand between two positions fast enough, but guitar has a new challenge of pressing the string in the right spot relative to the fret and picking it the right way. all of it is just muscle memory obtained through practice though. it also probably hurts your fingers right now, especially if you have a cheap acoustic guitar, but that's just practice too because you'll get calluses as continue doing it regularly, and when you have the calluses you'll be more confident to press on the strings hard enough to make the tone sound good.everything in life is practice. almost no skills worth having will feel easy to you on day 1.
You only have to learn a few patterns and you can just move up the fretboard rather than having to practice every individual scale
then just play piano instead?

>>131988349Western moe is superior
>>131988349That's because guitar is an inherently inferior instruments it's only good for single voice melodies and sloppy strumming as a stylistic device, that's about it.
