Can you name three songs by the band you are wearing the shirt of that you stole off your boyfriend? Ok name them.
>>131982526Graphic Ts are for children and you shouldn't be wearing them if you're older than 20 anyways
>>131982559OK normalfag
>>131982564>t. 40 year old who still goes out in public with his Misfits shirt he's had since he was 19
>>131982526Why does she think she should be able to get away with being a poser?
>>131982640I'm convinced that t-shirt print shops are the ones trying to take down gatekeepers because they can't sell as many t-shirts if the only people who are buying them are the people who actually care about the artists in question. They want to sell band logos to everyone, even people who don't listen to music
>>131982526Amy should shut up she's like 50yo and married, Jenna surely knows the music thanks to her Nazi chud Iceage bf
>>131982744>knows the music thanks to her Nazi chud Iceage bfIt's his shirt she thought it looked cool
>>131982526You know what, it doesn't matter. Nothing matters, nothing has any consequence or stakes whatsoever. Just do what you want and live in a fairyland bubble where everyone loves you, just be strategically fake. This is what modern society is now.
>>131982526It Matt, because the shirt symbolizes that you belong to a subculture, or at least are in the know. Normies aren't supposed to wear them, it's just posing for them. Simple as that.>>131982559>caring about social norms on 4chan of all placesget the fuck out, tourist.
>>131982559Any clothing with writing or branding on other than a small logo is for intellectually subnormal people.
>>131982526I can only name songs from Misfits, Metallica, and Motörhead

>>131984934stop being a manchild
>>131982526There are many albums I've listened to a thousand times and I couldn't tell you three song names on them, because I listen to those albums in full and I've never stopped to read the song titles. Typically I'll know the name of a song I like if it's on an album I don't like or don't care for. Hell, sometimes I don't even remember the titles of the albums I like. I listen to hundreds of albums a year. I just vaguely remember the cover art whenever I want to go back to it in my library.
>>131982564Grow the fuck up.
>>131982559I like to buy a band shirt at every big concert I go to as a souvenir and representation of music I like. I just wear them to the gym and to other concerts.I will continue to do it and you will continue to cope and seethe about it.
>>131985179You're either lying, extremely autistic, or both. My money's on both.
>>131985083Notice that there's no womanchild because its redundant.
It's gone from 1/4 Nirvana shirts to ~4/5. Quite tired of them desu
>>131985347Women have intrinsic value. Men do not. More is expected of you because you are expendable by nature.
>>131982526Hollywood stars Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams debate the ethics of wearing band T-shirtshttps://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/celebrity/articles/hollywood-stars-jenna-ortega-amy-130000776.html>Ortega, who in previous promotional interviews has referenced bands such as Nine Inch Nails and Deftones, discussed her love of experimental US hip hop duo Death Grips, and revealed the influence of punk icon Siouxsie Sioux on horror icon Wednesday Addams, has obviously been subjected to some attention on this subject before, as she tells Adams, "What I don't agree with is when someone tries to do the, 'Name three songs' [question]. It's like, why do you care? Why do you care that much?"This was the last straw; I have to drop Jenna now
>>131982526sometimes the tracklist is the merch
>>131982526Gatekeeping is good and necessary
>>131985353as long as someone has listened to all of Nevermind (Endless Nameless unnecessary) and has a real emotional opinion on each track, I'm fine with that; nothing else Nirvana did matters anywhere near as much
>>1319854134chan would have been a much better contemporary site with more enforced past gatekeepingtry to recall the last time you read a "lurk moar"
>>131985430The "average person" doesn't listen to albums if i'm to speak desu to you, familiapai, and I am. Obviously they aren't wearing Nevermind shirts but it's not usually In Utero either
>>131982559always like imagining the butterballs who post stuff like this>>131982640she's a woman
>>131985362that's backwards logicit's not that men are expendable, it's that males do not value other males beyond filial ties and instrumentality, and males control society; therefore, your value is derived from utility
>>131982526>Graphic Ts are for children and you shouldn't be wearing them if you're older than 20 anyways
>>131985449because the average album is half or more fillerNevermind isn't perfect but it's one of the few I've ever listened to with a miniscule amount of junk on it ("Polly", "Come As You Are")

>>131985353sold at wal mart and target now most basic of bitches
>>131985753that's completely irrelevantnature is not autonomous and does not dictate value
>>131982559I always wanted band shirts but ones with prints of bands/musicians I actually listen to are only available used and overpriced. Is making DIY band shirts cringe ?
>>131985805Bootlegs are based if they look decent enough. I did some screenprinting and iron on heat transfer Tees back in the day.
Met a guy the other day wearing a misfits shirt. I asked him if he was a big fan because I am, and he responded he likes a few of their songs. I smiled and left it alone because I'm not a dick.
>>131985306What did I say that strains credulity? It's incredulous that if you listen to a lot of shit you have trouble keeping track of the names of it all? Especially if most of the time you don't even look at the track names? Listen to a huge volume of albums and you'll realize that that's in fact the default mode you'll fall into.

>>131982814I want to make a fashion company that creates streetwear with band logos, anime related iconogrophy, etc., but in a subtle way that is present but doesn't intrude - like the JJBA suits they made a while back. Because i feel the same way about typical graphic tees, but I would still like to support artists I enjoy by repping their material - just in a more subdued and thoughtfully designed manner
>Graphic Ts are for children and you shouldn't be wearing them if you're older than 20 anyways
>>131991787pic looks like the average graphic T enjoyer
the shirt is an invitation to socialize and the band is a social contract that demands a level of loyalty and good faith between the affected parties. anyone who wears a shirt for cool points or just because is basically invalidating this social norm and sowing confusion and futility.
>>131982526What if you don't know the band all that well, but you saw them live once and bought a concert t-shirt?
>>131982640I'm far removed from any subculture where I would ever care about being a "poser", but I would imagine to be one it matters why someone is wearing the shirt... If they're wearing it because they like how it looks but openly dont give a shit about the band or the scene, then by definition they're not posers, nor are they try-hards
