I am making a Paint.NET clone for the browser with AI because the Paint.NET developer never included the polygon lasso although I gave him the code for it

It is not yet feature complete but I would still like to ask for feedback.

What would you need to find it useful.

im not a feedbacker but it looks cool in browser

    >the Paint.NET developer never included the polygon lasso
this is a ridiculous hack but what i always did was use Alt
Alt focuses the menubar, and makes the canvas not take input anymore, so you can press Alt, move the mouse elsewhere, then press Alt again and your lasso will have a straight line between those two points
    >>
why not just use paint.js or photopea or something

Because I am used to Paint.NET and it has the best UX. I find colorful buttons for the tools much more useful than black and white ones and the screen space is used optimally.

I tried it without it. It takes forever.

I still have a life, I don't make any money from it, I'm making it open source, and I can't go full hermit.

Rick Brewster has been developing Paint.NET as his main job for 22 years. There’s no way to surpass him without AI, because he has a 22-year head start.

There's no point in making something open source if it's unreadable spaghetti slop. It defeats the whole point of open source software.

didn't some techbro already make a vibe coded paint.net clone because he wanted it on linux or something?

    and is this you? https://forums.paint.net/topic/133388-creating-a-polygon-lasso-tool/
lmao, "although I gave him the code for it," you mean from pinta? a project that forked off what, 17 years ago? (v3.0 is January 26th, 2007 and i'm going by the pinta git repo)
can't you just use the bezncurve plugin? why don't you just make your own plugin?

literally no-one is going to be impressed with your vibe coded slop paint sveltekit website, you obviously have no programming skill and are just some entitled skid, shoo shoo

best part is it doesn't even work, it just is a black canvas even when i paint with white, i don't even have any privacy things and canvas data is allowed, wow this is depressing

    Yes, that is me.
And a plugin does not work for that use case. This was also discussed in the Paint.NET forum.

Yes that code is for an older version and does not fit properly but Paint.NET is not open source and the author does not want any developer support.

I even added an AI background remover that works locally in the browser.

Also I am a C# WPF software developer of 9 years and it is over for Software devs.

I've been writing WPF applications for 11 years and it's far from over. If you can be outperformed by a glorified copy-paste machine then you probably deserve to be booted from the industry. There are no shortcuts to quality work.

It is a static page hosted on github. I do not even have cookies, a visitor counter or anything. You can even look at the code. What more privacy do you need? Would you like a popup that explains that all (that the data stays client side)? Also, are you on your phone? Which browser are you using? (I only tested it on google chrome on android and windows)

i mean i don't have firefox about:config privacy.resistFingerprinting enabled or any extensions other than ublock
