I can sort of let it slide for people just trying to get to work, but if someone is genuinely "going for a bike ride" on an ebike they're just losers. They'd get more from it by walking half the distance.

What is that? The septuagenarian is actually an doddering, inept, out of touch mouthpiece being controlled by larger forces out for their own interests? Glad we don't have that in any other countries. That sounds awful.

Constantly have bike seat trying to wedge itself up your asshole. Constantly being hit by cars. You actively choose to continue this activity.

Basically a loner sport but highly competitive and quantifiable. Will soak up as much money as you care to spend, it's like a rolex; dentists spend amounts on bikes nowadays that would make some car hobbyists blush. The gear and uniform intensify the level of larp. Also >>3010534 , amerifats are actively antagonistic towards stuff in the path of their trugg, which makes the cyclist reatively hostile towards the world.

There's only one kind of person I ever see riding electric bike, which is a brown person doing 40mph with no lights at night delivering mcdonalds andill tell you something else, they are extremely fucking ill mannered when it comes to collecting their pickup order at restaurant too. Not just to customers pushing in front and throwing their big thermal bags and dumping their bikes at the door, but rude to the staff too shouting ordernumbers at them, not believing them 'show me show me' and saying hurry up stuff like that.
Modded ebike, illegal, no lights, illegal, speeding, illegal, and I'm not saying oh just because the are foreign they have no right to work but i find it suspicious none of them are white or speak English first language. But nobody is interested in stopping them.
In fact i seem to be aminority, I'm amazed how many people spend money on mcdonalds let alone fucking pay for delivery ffs.

    A lack of cycling infrastructure.
    Let me elaborate:
Cycling without proper infrastructure sucks. Cars hate you because you block their lanes and constantly endanger you by driving too closely, and in a car vs bike confrontation you always lose. So either you have cars drive by dangerously close or you are relegated to the gutter. Try to avoid that issue and you're on the sidewalk, where now you're the one endangering foot traffic. Both options suck. In addition, infrastructure puts cycling in that weird middle ground where technically the rules of cars apply to you, but the infrastructure is not designed for you, so it's often risky and people hate you. So the only ones who do that regardless eventually take a weird pride in it. That's how you get "cyclists" the kind that wear full body spandex and exist in a quantum superposition between being annoyed that cars don't treat them like other cars, while also suddenly stopping to be a car the second they think they can get away with it (especially stop signs and traffic lights).
Meanwhile in places with proper cycling infrastructure people using a bike do not annoy anyone anymore. They're away from the road, so the cars don't get annoyed, and away from foot traffic, so no one gets hurt. Note that these places have a lot of people using the bicycle, but these people aren't "cyclists". It's going to be families on a trip, people getting groceries, or commuters.

TL;DR: Because infrastructure in most places puts them in a weird spot where they are neither car nor foot traffic, and as a result they annoy everyone and get bitter because of it.

    >amerifats are actively antagonistic towards stuff in the path of their trugg
That's very true from my personal experience. I am not even a "cyclist". I just bought a bike and rode it occasionally to pull a "weekend warrior" maybe 3-4 times a year. No spandex, no professional looking attire. People honked at me and threw stuff at me. And that is in a "nice and safe" suburbia. I guess to some, if I am riding on the road, "I am automatically a douche, period". it is as if i was camping in their backyard. However as a driver I admit it is annoying being blocked by a slow cyclist and a 30 second delay feels like an hour. Bu I never honk at people let alone throw drinks at them. One time I rode through a rural area and there was not a single car in sight but some (motor) bikers near a bar were giving me dirty looks and even sort of making threatening motions , you know, what the geese do too when you are passing them when they about to cross the street and they hiss at you. That kind of vibe.

    >The only people I see on an e bike are brown, delivering food

That's because you probably don't ever get close to a bike path because why bother improving yourself; and you tend to hang around where fast food is, which isn't really a surprise either. The average e biker I see is over 50 (more like over 65) and white. They do tend to be rude though, being boomers they don't care if pedestrians have the right of way, and they never announce their approach or intent to pass. I'm sure you have no idea what that means either, just smile and nod.

    >>3008849
This is sometimes true, but they actually do get some exercise out of it, believe it or not. I used to hate them for the same reasons, but now I'm more like: at least they're doing something, they're out here. I still don't think much of them though.

    >while also suddenly stopping to be a car the second they think they can get away with it (especially stop signs and traffic lights).
This shit is why I cant' stand cyclists. There's this one intersection near me that has a trail crossing it. The road the trail crosses is a divided road with lights and a dedicated bike lane next to the pedestrian crossings. I have seen retards enter it from both sides of the trail and drive diagonally across the intersection to take a 90 degree turn on multiple occasions. I have seen them consistently blow through their light and damn near get hit. I've personally witnessed 3 collisions and in one case the guy had a compound fracture in his ankle. Someone died there a couple years ago.

Every year at town meetings there's people bitching that we need to do more about how dangerous that intersection is. Because having motion activated detectors on the trail approaches on both sides to literally automatically change the lights after a few seconds and give them a designated right of way isn't enough. Somehow the fact that they're on a bike means they shouldn't ever have to slow down or consider their surroundings.

The families are fine. Hell, even the kids running around on bmx bikes are fine if they aren't in a pack big so big they can't clear the intersection. It's the Lycra clad jagoffs causing at least 95% of the problems.

    >Meanwhile in places with proper cycling infrastructure people using a bike do not annoy anyone anymore.
This is only true if you have total infrastructure coverage. Any interaction with motorists is going to breed entitled retards as above.

    >This shit is why I cant' stand cyclists
Can't really blame you, they are fucking annoying as shit.
    >It's the Lycra clad jagoffs causing at least 95% of the problems
True, but that's kind of my point. In countries without cycling infrastructure you have a lot more of these people. People in countries with more infrastructure will more often use a bicycle, but they won't call themselves "cyclists" and put on the full body lycra condom with adult diaper butt padding.
    >This is only true if you have total infrastructure coverage. Any interaction with motorists is going to breed entitled retards as above.
Kind of true, but you can definitely decrease the interaction massively. You can even remove it completely, though that is often so expensive it's unrealistic, I'll grant. Also if there is more infrastructure and the designers did think about how to make it acceptable to cyclists, a lot less break the rules.
I live in a city that was very very car focused until relatively recently (last 5 years). Cycling used to suck and, crucially, so did our "cyclists". I feel like it must have been a monthly occurence that I'd have to do an emergency breaking maneuver because some dickhead on a bicycle suddenly just decided to cross 4 lanes in an intersection while his traffic light is red because he thinks he counts as a pedestrian despite having stopped at the traffic light for cars and taking up an entire lane seconds before.
Since then we got a local government that invested a lot in making more of the common areas easier to cycle in. Areas for bikes to stop before turning, lanes for them to stop in so they don't hog the driver's lane. Cyclist's traffic lights.
Sure there's still some assholes, but far less now, despite there being massively more cyclists. People actually seem to follow the rules once they exist for them, rather than for cars only.

It's kind of like if you imagined cars and pedestrians sharing the same space. It just doesn't work. Same for bicycles.

Honestly I think having some interaction is the worst. Complete interaction at least forces the cyclists to understand physics if they don't want to be smeared tomato paste on a random street corner. They still drive like assholes, but they aren't oblivious. Fully segregated systems are best because you never have to deal with the cyclists and the cyclists never have to deal with cars. Partially segregated systems are the worst because you get people who don't understand physics and they get entitled because they perceive occasional inconveniences. If the inconvenience is constant, it becomes "normal" and fades into the background.

If you took that 4 way crossing + the trail crossing from my above example and dropped it into central NYC somewhere, there'd be no problems apart from people honking and/or giving each other the finger dozens of times an hour.

It's sort of like how driving assist tech and improved safety on modern cars has made people worse drivers. If you rolled over doing 50 in a 1980s car, you probably died. These days you will most likely walk away. You'll be hurt, but you'll walk. The real idiots used to get culled, and everyone else was more cautious because they understood the risks. Don't get me wrong, there are other factors. Cell phones have made people completely oblivious, but even accounting for stuff like cell phones, people are simply worse at driving now. With the bike paths, people get lazy because they don't have to continuously be alert, and then when they actually do have to pay attention they no longer know how to.
