Notice how most crew art we see are storyboards or some design pages. No actual animation, this is why storyboards need to be super expressive so the outsourced studio doesn't fuck it up. Also why being consistent is so key. Look at shows like SU where because of the inconsistent crew art the models for the characters changed every other episodes. You really need to add a bit more so it won't look stiff if they did the poses as expected the model would literally look 1000 times stiffer. If anything having such expressive storyboards and more frames in between compared to some others really helps the animators to figure out what they need to do.

My tastes in media aren't very refined and I've only watched a couple dozen cartoons over the last few years, but Haunted Hotel was a great refresher. I don't know how else to say it other than "it felt different" in comparison to other shows that are streaming right now. I wasn't even interested in the premise and the bland art style initially turned me off but now I'm somehow deeply invested in a comedy sitcom.
