Over almost the whole month of October I've been obsessing over religion and have givenup on having fun and have lost all of my sex drive thinking I'm going to go to hell (its like a switch in my head clicked). Its been really tiresome for me mentally, and I am feeling broken and want to stop thinking about it all together at this point. Please tell me how to cope over religion, and to go back to living a normal life so I can stop stressing about it, because I feel like I'm turning into a literal schizo when I engage in religion. Thank You.>My Backstory:Growingup I loved Jesus Christ but wasn't super religious and just lived my life, but eventually started dabbling into other stuff as I began losing faith, but then later dropped that stuff and came back to the faith stronger than ever, but now I started to feel another shift and I actually started reading into the Bible and its origins more, thinking there was tons of evidence for Jesus Christ but to my shock I found out that the only evidence was Josephus who was born 7yrs after Jesus's death...It also shocked me to learn that The Gospels were discovered 40-60 years after Jesus's death, and that no one really knows who wrote them, and I am supposed to believe all of this despite the lack of evidence and all of the contradictions and so on, or I will go to hell and burn there for all of eternity (hell isnt even eternal when you read about its origins).I also just want to say that I have nothing against Jesus Christ himself.
>>35056502If god loves you he will not send you for eternal torture (or whatever you consider hell to be) for something out of your control: finding his existence convincing.
>>35056502there are drugs out there that will straighten this out for you. naturally, they're all illegal (with one or two exceptions) and they make society nervous.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MPHyR92MQic&ra=m
>>35056502God isn't real, anon. You know why people tell small children about Santa Claus? It's basically to get them to behave. "There's a magical man with a beard in the sky, and he knows everything you do, and he'll reward you for the good things and punish you for the bad ones." So, at least for a short while, they do what you want. God is Santa Claus for grown-ups.
God's 100% real but hells probably not. Even then if you strive to be a good person and want to learn from your mistakes you're not going to go there. If hell was real and people who didn't deserve to be there were being trapped there for longer then they need to be, then it'd last a couple of days tops before everyone rapes Satan and then get out and rape "god" for letting it happen. Bare minimum it, like all suffering, is something you will experience because you can handle it and cause it's necessary for the best possible ending for everyone. Even Hitler wouldn't be trapped in hell forever or permantly scarred by whatever goes on in it.Evil wins battles but good always crushingly wins wars. The person who's going to be above everyone else is going to be in that spot cause everyone loves them and for good reason. If they were a jackass they'd be overthrown and replaced with someone who isn't. You're not the only person to exist, horrors beyond comprehension are going to have been comprehended and thwarted by someone who can deal with it. Sufferings finite, happiness is infinite and will far outnumber the tragedy in your existence. Just live your life, no matter what is thrown at you, you will come out on top. Also don't keep looking into what sorts of hells people think can exist. You'll get trapped in a loop of desperately trying to solve a problem with no 100% solution and forget the obvious rationale of "If that existed the person in charge of that would get curb stomped."
>>35056502Trust me. You haven't gone schizo enough. You're just trying to cope with your parents religious views, realizing that, while it has done some good for them, is ultimately insane once you think about it for five seconds. The solution? Binge all sorts of religions and different worldviews, you might even find a branch of Christianity that makes sense.>t. Anon raised in a Salafi Muslim household only to become hardcore Sufi.
>>35056502those who seek, will find. thats all I got to say to you.So ask yourself, are you really seeking woth your heart? or just going for a confirmation bias? Some people prefer to believe the nonsense of "oh if I do X I go to hell so I just dont do it, if I go to mass im good" because they dont want to confront the reality of God, which it is in itself a way to cope with the existence of God and the fact that life has an actual inherent meaning to it. God doesnt want you to just not sin, or go to church on sundays, He wants to come in contact with u and change ur life, which is something quiet uncomfortable for some people but once iniated the process God will take care of all our problems.
It's fake, there is no god.
>>35057367and if you don't? tell me your views, what happens then?Does he send all those who didn't to hell?
>>35057053Does your family treat you as an apostate? I know I have to tip-toe around the topic of religion with my own family because they’re trapped in the boomer/gen x’er spiral of either dissociating from their ancestry (as is the case with my mom) or believing retarded fringe theories like the Mossad got JFK (like my dad and stepmom) because Israel bad and therefore all Jews bad (which is hilarious since my mom meets the requirements for the law of return).
>>35056502OP here. I forgot to mention I'm gay if that matters.
>>35057563I would advise u to talk to someone u trust and love that believes in God to orient u in those spiritual matters. But no short answer, I dont believe that which you asked me
>>35057585I agree with your stepmom. With that aside they would if they knew, but fortunately they don't. It's not too difficult to keep a secret just don't discuss the topic of religion with them and if you are forced to just talk about the stuff you agree on.
>>35057655Wait, you agree with my dad and my stepmom that the Mossad got JFK? Or you agree with my mom denying her yid heritage? Makes sense. It’s a shame you can’t be more open with your family. Sufism is unfathomably based while the strict legalism of salafism, I think just like with the haredim, misses the point of the teachings of the prophets.
>>35057691>Wait, you agree with my dad and my stepmom that the Mossad got JFK? Or you agree with my mom denying her yid heritage? Both I guess, though there is a lot about Jews I respect and I mostly have beef with their religious ideals. Racism is bad.>It’s a shame you can’t be more open with your family. It's life. I realized I was just seeking approval more than truth or even love, so it was pointless for my spiritual growth to chase it.>I think just like with the haredim, misses the point of the teachings of the prophets.I assumed you were in a Christian background. I will say esoteric Judaism is mostly neat, though I don't like the inversion stuff where they see non-Jews as non-human and servants for Lilith. The more Neoplatonic ones are cool though.
>>35057705>racism is bad Agreed. However, just like with Zionists, it’s something that Arab nationalists, Persian nationalists, and Turkish nationalists are all guilty of. Part of protecting your people is riding the line of working to preserve your culture and identity while respecting the culture and identity of others. That’s where Jews struggle because we see what happens with rigid isolation and highly liberal assimilation. The Jew is either exterminated or pushed out. Similar things have happened to Kurds, Druze, Assyrians, Chaldeans, Greeks, and Circassians under Arab, Turkish, and Persian rule. >I was just seeking approval rather than truth or love Very true. No notes or arguments there. >they see the goyim as subhuman or as servants of Lilith They’re giving power to an entity that does not deserve that power and are in effect practicing a form of crypto-idolatry. Plus, we are all HaAdam. We all have the breath of life according to the Tanakh. >I assumed you were of a Christian backgroundYes and no. It’s messy. I was raised going to church on Sundays in addition to Sunday school, but my dad and stepmom have always been vocal atheists and my mom practices her own form of ancestor worship/buddhism/judaism/Christianity. My conversion to Judaism is a recent development is a recent thing as I failed to find what I was looking for in Christianity and other religions. That being said, I do have a lot of respect for Jesus, Paul, and Mohammed (and by extension most Christians and Muslims) as they brought the Law to the gentiles and distilled it down to its most essential components. And I too enjoy the middle and neo-platonism that informed second temple period Judaism and rabbinic Judaism.
