I was watching the new Spiderman and sometimes I like to talk or ask questions to my friend during the movie. Where I'm from in Arkansas people talk in movies theatres but now I'm living in New England for work and people get all pissy about that. The staff said i can't talk during the movie because people were complaining and I basically just said I have my free speech. Then they told me to whisper if i was going to say anything but then i said my friend won't really be able to hear me. Eventually they came back and asked me to leave. I refused at first but they threatened to call the cops. They offered no refund even though I only say like 40 minutes of it.Can I sue them or something?
>>35056384No. You have no right to attend the movies and as a private business they can ask you to leave and trespass you for whatever reason they feel like.
>>35056394If i buy a ticket they have to serve me. They can't take my money.
>>35056399A ticket doesn't entitle you to immunity over being kicked from their premises and you can bet that they have some clause saying that they can kick you out for whatever reason they deem fit.
yes they violated your rights, sue them. i personally love adding my own personal commentary when I go to the theater. people appreciate my insights and how i explain when something is an easter egg.
>>35056384>I basically just said I have my free speech. You haven't, retard. Freedom of speech means the GOVERNMENT isn't allowed to silence you. Private businesses on whose premises you are have an absolute right to tell you to shut the fuck up or leave if they want to. >Can I sue them or something? No. Your ticket purchase was a contract: they promised to show you the film, but only if you respected the conditions of the contract, such as not talking during the film. You broke your side of the contract, so they owe you nothing.
>>35056384Okay okay. So you want to spend 1000s in legal fees just to get back the 40 dollars..?
