I am 34 and halfway to 35. I am having a ton of memories of being young flood back into my mind for no particular reason and I am realizing youth is completely over. However! It seems that I am incapable of growing up or becoming professional or serious. I am stuck perpetually in my early 20s mentally. The difference though is that I am completely out of touch with that generation and still think old memes and jokes are funny.I don't know what to do about getting old. I know I can't go back to being young and having fun in the same way but adult hobbies do not really appeal to me.
>>35050358Almost no one under 70 is a real adult anymore. You're just like everyone else, you just didn't notice.
>>35050358If you are actually that age then you will realize that you really do not grow past 20. You are the same person as you age , but you have made mistakes , learned lessons, and gotten scars from the world. Fasion repeats, right now fashion is similar to pop 90s, early 2000s. Being disconnected from memes and such really isn't a thing at that age. You grew up with the Internet and if you are on this site then you are clearly connected enough to be a part of that culture. >can't go back to being young and having fun in the same way but adult hobbies do not really appeal to me.To be honest you sound like a younger person making a larp post about being old because a lot of what you write just isn't true. Adult hobbies are the same interest you had when young, just advanced. For instance legos as a kid , you build pcs.
Hahaha you sound like me. I'm evolved in some ways, but rather stunted and oblivious in others. Are you in college or anything? College is making me rather happy.
>>35050389Doesn't sound like a LARP at all
>>35051115Op does sound like a larp because that is not the perspective of someone older.
>>35051074I might get some kind of certification, but no I think you would have to really have to be passionate about something to go back to college.Really I am in debt after getting wine drunk for an entire consecutive year. I just quit alcohol a week ago after a literal year of being drunk every single day. I have a lot of job interviews and stuff this week. I feel as if there is nothing to look forward to.I don't want to default on video games because I think living your entire life as a simulated experience is probably not good.
Everything feels empty and the second half or so of this life, every second of which is a miracle, I'll get old and it's looking like a relationship is mostly off the table until my late 30s at least.I have to successfully fool a company into hiring me fully expecting to pick up jazz tabaco very soon afterwards.
>>35051343I stopped drinking and doing heroin over six years ago. Keep working on your recovery. It will keep building on itself.
>>35051330Actually, it sounds like the perspective of most old people, but others keep it to themselves. Don't be surprised when people admit their honest feelings on an anonymous imageboard.
