So my gf has PCOS and claims it affects her energy levels, makes her really tired, and she as a result isn't making dinner on time, we end up eating past midnight(2-3am). Now, I understand this is a terrible thing to have, and I do help her and around the house with my end of the chores. For example, I wash the dishes, take out the trash, change the sheets, do the heavy labor around the place, helped her get IV treatment(like vitamins and energy shots type of thing and even helped her pay for it), bought workout equipment and food out of my own pocket in an attempt to get her to be more active and not as chunky, tried to encourage her to see more medical doctors to see if there's a way to help her further, etc. A lot of it either went unused or she doesn't care as much and makes excuses.I even suggested she could try and make the food early and we can eat it at a decent time by heating it up in the microwave. While she agrees this is a good idea, she rarely sticks to it. However, I have noticed she makes time and energy to bake shit for her friends, sleep over he friend's house, or just straight do any activity with them. She barely does shit with me outside of eating food late and I guess we went out on Sunday for a date night. 8 years together and 2 years of this have brought me to my breaking point if I should just leave. While she has been loyal, kind, things in common, get along well, a lot of this shit is making me resentful, and I don't know how much longer I can last. Anyone had/having something similar happen and can offer me advice? Thanks.
>>35045408Make your own dinners and let her do what she wants for feeding herself.See how she reacts to it and if she makes any changes. If she doesnt, discuss with her to make changes or move on.It already sounds like youre wanting a life not attached to this level of retardation.
>>35045441What is she eating for meals? Just hypothesize fagging her but I suspect her energy levels are based on what she eats. If youre in the US 80% on the shelves is poison.
>>35045444Carb slop, microwavable meals, rarely makes healthy shit like Greek yogurt fruit bowls, some snacks, etc. But she either eats once or two times a day and never large portions, so I don't know.
>>35045408Counting hours and units of labor is not propitious to a loving interpersonal relationship. There's a degree of practicality, yes, but what should matter is that each person is honestly doing their best, even if the material results are unequal between them. However,>I have noticed she makes time and energy to bake shit for her friends, sleep over he friend's house, or just straight do any activity with them.that's a problem and you should address it with her. It's natural, or at least common, for people to get more excited and motivated by off-routine things like activities with friends. A relationship can fall into the category of mundane. However, mental motivation is ultimately her choice. PCOS and other such health issues can of course be debilitating, but if she has energy for her friends, she should choose to use more energy for you.Don't start by accusing or blaming her, but do make it clear that you're doing your best for her and feel that she's not doing her best for you.Your resentful feelings will poison things ineluctably so the sooner you find out how she reacts to that, the better.Aside from that, addressing her condition would help everything. Doing exercise with her is a lot more effective than just buying equipment for her. You can schedule appointments with doctors for her. You can cook and purchase healthy meals for the both of you. This can add up to a lot of units of labor, yes, but if you love and want to be with her it should be worth it. Of course, if she's not reciprocating with the best of her earnest intentions, then for your sake you should not continue the relationship.
>>35045408Sounds like you're the problem.>Claims is dismissive and doesn't help.Find someone else, or eat out.
>>35045457that's making her symptoms worse. pcos is a metabolic disease and she's probably having insulin spikes and crashes, especially from eating late. there are an abundance of resources online about how to eat when you have pcos and other lifestyle choices that can help. she really needs to start implementing those things if she wants to gain energy. it seems like you're the person she doesn't have to try for, whereas she needs to keep up with her friends. maybe you guys can meal prep healthy meals together
>>35047951couldn't have said it better myself.op will prob have to lead the charge himself since it sounds like his gf is in a spiral
>>35045408Cut gluten, dairy, and onions out of the diet and have her take medicine for "mast cell disease". I'm going to bed but I saw this while browsing. My wife has PCOS and cutting out some foods can be soooo beneficial. Ignore what these stupid eurochuds think about "muh amerikan slop", they are merely shitskins paid to hate the USA and its diverse range of choices. Again, I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm passing out now.
