I'm on sick leave from work from mental health reasons and I'm getting a lot of pressure from people/family to go back to work. I don't want to but i feel I'm letting people and myself down by not going back. I'm tired of the feeling of shame and I'm tired of the feeling of dread at the idea of going back when all i want to do is lie in bed and disappear. What should i do?. I'm tired of this shit tbqh
>>35045375You are on sick leave for a reason. If anyone bitches ask them if they would complain if you had a broken leg.Besides, pressure like that will just delay your recovery and they should be supportive.
>>35045429It's complicated because it's this internship I've been on for 10 months and i borrowed money from my family to support me until i started getting paid. It was supposed to be a gateway for a better career opportunity and now with this sick leave I'm kind of throwing it all away but i just feel very burnt out by everything. If it was up for me I'd say fuck it and stay on my sick leave but i value the opinion of other people a lot especially those close to me
>>35045440Its up to you ofc.But keep in mind that a full-on burnout might take years to recover from.
>>35045561I know anon, it's not really this job that's caused my current burn out. It's the added result of other ones that i haven't been able to recover from over the past 3 years
>>35045670What if i don't get better though. I've been dealing with this all my adult life. Maybe i just can't handle shit and need to sudoku
I've been burned out hard for almost 3 years now. Focus on your recovery, fuck everything else. You can't fix it by forcing yourself to work. I probably would have recovered by now if I they didn't make me jump through hoops the entire fucking timing.
>>35045375Who is ringht and who is wrong depends of course on... how long you've been on the sick leave.>>35045440You've been bamboozled desu.To work for 10 months for a pay so low you can't even support yourself, and made to work so hard you burned out. And it's just an internship, not even an apprenticeship. Just find a real job.As for going back: Consider if you're actually healing by staying unemployed.
>>35049866I've been a month off work. And to clarify it's an apprenticeship not internship my bad.
