My girlfriend freaked out because my best friend stayed over at my place last night and we slept in the same bed, and now she's convinced something happened. (my friend is a woman) Nothing really happened, how do I calm her down?

For context, my girlfriend firmly thinks men and women can't be strictly platonic, and she especially resents this particular friend because of her "reputation" and with men.

Quite so my friend's lifestyle is precisely why she's has never been on my radar. When a woman has a revolving door of hook ups, they occupy a completely different category in your head. She is not even a woman in my eyes and I don't think she registers me as man neither, I'm short and she only dates tall dudes. We are best friends and we surely love each other, but not in the romantic sense.

Perhaps if something had happened between us when years ago when we were teenagers and she had no previous experience with men something could have happened, but the moment she slept with a man the relationship locked In as purely platonic. And I think that was for the best, because she's never lasted with a boyfriend. But as friends we have been together for over a decade, people come and people leave, but we remain together, supporting each other in hard times. She even paid for my rent a couple of times when I was in college and my parents couldn't afford it.

About last night we slept on the same bed? Sure, we were drunk? Of course, something sexual happened? Not even a kiss. Nothing at all.

Even if nothing happened and the relationship is purely platonic it’s weird as hell to spend time in bed with a woman in such a close proximity lmao, I get her feelings.

Reassure her that it won’t happen again and that things remained purely platonic, don’t dismiss her feelings because it’ll make the situation worse and harm your relationship farther.

Your girlfriend is right. You need a high level of trust toward both parties to have faith in that especially if drinking was involved. People do stupid shit drunk but I shouldnt have to tell you that.
Id apologize and say nothing happened and you wont do it again as you can see now how it is from her perspective.

Fake story or you're lying. You don't platonically sleep in bed with others. Would you platonically sleep in bed with your guy friends? Get fuckin real cuh
