I am 23 years old and I never had any social media because my parents never allowed me to have an account there so that habit just stuck with me; I did browse the internet a lot as a kid/teenager and that is how I found about a lot of pre-2012 entertainment and forums :3I would spend most of my time in those places watching that entertainment and never focused on modern slang or trends or challenges. Fast forward to today, it is hard for me to understand what the people that are my age are talking about or what music or video games they talk about or why they speak sometimes using weird language. I never really had a lot of friends ;^^I made some friends a year ago and was part of their group but I noticed that I am out of touch with whatever new things and short videos that they share and that's very embarrassing to me because it's clear that I don't share their language or their politics and whatever else and I still don't want to get social media because I know its privacy dangers. What can I do?
Bro content is not inherently political if it's just the usual slop going around. It's called trends and they change every so often. You don't need to know you can just use whatever lingo you want but if you want to fit in you you can just ask them. If they don't tell you then maybe find some new friends
