26 M. I’d say it’s pretty safe to say I’m never going to have any romantic success in this life. I’m pushing 30 without ever even holding hands with a girl. I’ve accomplished next to nothing since graduating high school 8 years ago: no finances, no job prospects, no degree or skills to speak of, and I’m fucking dog-faced to boot. Combine all this with that statistic about how only 40% of men throughout human history have gone on to have children, and it all paints a pretty bleak picture for me. Logically, I can accept that what little prospects I may have had of finding love or romance in my life have long passed me by, but emotionally, this fact is still raping my heart and soul. How can I come to terms with spending the next 40-50 years of my life alone?Note that this isn’t about friendships or spending time with other family members of mine.
