I have ADHD. I need to read and study a lot for my major. Is there a way or a device i can use to Pavlov myself into studying/reading frequently? And some way to not randomly distract myself? Should i Hasan-out and buy a shock collar? Help me out pls
>>35042890It's not possible unless you are genetically predisposed to boring shit like reading. If you don't care about boring shit like reading, you have to have regular social fun/sex to motivate you to endure such boring shit. Having fun/sex is genetic(looks) thus it's impossible unless you use meds. Such meds are avaliable only in US(Gayrope are weak/fake countries that depend on the US protection). Conclusion- just be American.

>>35042890When I was in college I just let myself soak in the extreme stress of the consequences of not studying and then did a 4-11 hour overnight crunch. It "worked" for me in terms of grades but I definitely ruined my mental.
I powered through with caffeine and on a few occasions used Sudafed as mild stimulant. With that said: if you have attention issues, adhd is a real thing. And being diagnosed in college is a lot easier than being diagnosed as a working adult
>>35042890Medication, probably. I never succeeded in this sort of thing (focused extensive reading), and was diagnosed only later as ADHD. My major in college allowed me to solve problems with proportionally less reading and with background processing. If no meds, drink a lot of caffeine and take breaks as needed, do something physical then sit back down.
>>35042919I do enjoy reading, so it isn't too bad. I do have access to 70mg vyvanse, which is nice. I am, though, not american.>>35043049nah lol>>35043855Used to do this too but it stressed the fuck out of me, so, yeah, it works but not great long-term>>35044243Caffeine does help a lot. Got into an internship again and they do provide free coffee and sugar, which is evidently great. I do have ADHD, diagnosed and all, and am taking meds (70mg vyvanse), but still, i need a way to stimulate myself besides consumables>>35044317I am taking meds and all, getting back into caffeine, too. Getting diagnosed now as a 20 year old was probably really easier, as you said, than as a 9 year old. But it would have probably solved some problems sooner. Also, dont know if doing something physical would help because i would probably notice something out of place or remember something i had to do earlier or in general. Thanks thoThe intention with the post was more so asking how to physically/mentally train my body to not do shit and to not NOT do shit (rotting in bed) and i thought that maybe some sort of device like a vibrating wristband or a shocking wristband or something could help. Idk, either way, thanks pals
>>35046296>dont know if doing something physical would helpBy that I meant like a sport or running or whatever's engaging to you so you can focus on it. But also they've done studies and 30 mins of moderate exercise improves ADHD symptoms acutely. Boosts blood flow and neurotransmitters. Also ime, retrospectively, helps reset the strain of using your focus and working memory intensively.Generally a solution against bedrotting is to just do *something*, avoiding the inhibitory effort of weighing and deciding, which I think pairs well here.
