my god. i am 19 and i have wasted my life. is it possible for me to still be great? how?
No. It's over
>>35040242i unironically believe this is true. you cannot be truly good at a trillion things, chess, tennis, piano unless you started at the age of 3. your parents are probably retarded, maybe upper middle class non intellectuals, you were never given an adequate upbringing. one can never make it
>>35040228If it makes you feel any better, this kid's bio is a blueprint of how to become the ultimate wagecuck. None of this truly matters in life.
>>35040370“this is the blueprint to become the ultimate wagecuck”-anon, in reference to dario amodei, kike of kikes and ceo of anthropic
>>35040228OP your "started at 3" is someone else's "prodigy at 19". I am 35 and if I focused on anything at 19 I would be world class in now.
>>35040228>I've wasted my life>I'm 19Lol, fuck off OP.
Lock in fn
OP, you're only 19, and you have a whole life ahead of you. Instead of whining on the internet like a weak bitch, lock the fuck in. I truly wish you the best and hope you reach your goal.
>>35040862thank you anon. i must lock in soon.
>>35040228For the most part it doesn't take decades from childhood to learn to do something well. You don't need to be a recognized prodigy or top of your class either. Many if not most skills and careers you can achieve in adulthood with proper studying and discipline. Your opportunities available depend on your innate capacity to an extent, but if you're not severely disabled in some way you have a lot of paths open to you.Right now, a bigger factor to your success is your mindset and how long you might delay post-secondary schooling.
>>35040228>>35040250Carrying this mindset is defeating yourself before you even attempt it. Hell I pity child prodigies because when they encounter somebody even better than them it can destroy their ego on a foundational level. Do not be afraid to do things because you are new and bad at it. Just being an amateur at a skill and practicing it often will make you better at it than a layman. Its better to be a novice pianist than not a pianist at all if that is what you like. Its better to bench a pl8 than it is to not lift at all if you desire strength. I started playing guitar at 24, I practice it everyday because I like it. I dont hold a candle to professionals. However I am starting to play a better than people I know IRL who have been playing guitar for many more years than I have but do not practice as much. People who only stick to what they are good at do not know what it takes to actually improve from total ignorance to being a functional amateur. You are 19, if you really want to be a virtuoso you still have time if you start soon and practice your art several hours a day everyday. However I dont think being on a professional level is as life changing as you make it out to be. You may be the center of attention for 15 minutes to an hour but outside of that you are still spending hundreds, even thousands, of hours alone honing your art with no validation other than your own.
