how can i cope with anhedonia/depression stemming from a vicious cycle of poverty due to inability to work because of chronic pain and physical/mental disabilities? i havent really cared about or enjoyed anything for decades but i cant find the courage to find a reliable way to kill myself and i have nobody to talk to in my area or any hobbies since my family only tolerates me enough to barely let me survive on cheap food

I dunno how to help you anon. Everyone has their own things they enjoy. I find working out and taking night walks while drinking enjoyable even when I feel down from longtime unemployment. The last you could do is trying to get healthy and get in a good shape

Threads like this need to come with circumstantial context or they look fake. Do you have a job? A car? Your own place? Kids? Are you married? Why are you depressed? Depression comes with reasons. Take me for instance, if I had my car right now there’s no way on gods green earth I’d be depressed. I know EXACTLY what would cure my depression. I just don’t have it right now. You gotta realize, people who are actually depressed for real can tell if you’re faking it.

>how can i cope
Usually with drugs, or some addictive behaviours, that's usually what people do.

But a better idea would be to try and fix the problems, and get to living a life you would actually kinda enjoy.

>depression
I'm sure this will improve as the other two areas improve

>disability
Is it treatable/fixable? Is there anything you can do to at least make it not as bad?

>poverty
Is this related to your disability? How bad is considered poverty wherever you are?

>but i cant find the courage to find a reliable way to kill myself
It's not that you don't have the courage. You're just more self-aware. Most people who commit suicide do it impulsively. Clearly you have a semi-decent head on your shoulders.

>Chronic pain
(not OP) What if it's unfixable? Doctors have either refused any interventions that carry nonzero risk or tried to gaslight me that it's psychosomatic when it's absolutely fucking not. Once I run out of drugs to cope with I'm actually gonna rope, there's no point in lifelong suffering.

You can't. It's ruined you. It's destroyed everything you could have been. Enjoy not working, leave the work to others.

That's vicious. Please don't die. Can you go to the community center? Maybe they have a surprise for you.
