I feel disillusioned with people. Im popular at work because I put in effort and treat people nice when others don’t but despite this I don’t have anything that I’d consider to be a real genuine connection with anyone here. I’m treated kindly and Thats fucking it. I barely know anything about anyone outside of work, they barely know anything about me, I’m never invited to anything, and 90% of conversations are either small talk or job related. It’s really oissing me iff that I can’t connect with people, and sure maybe it’s largely my fault, but it’s not like they’re helping either. I’d rather be invisible to these people than only partially noticed like this. How do I deal with this

seed a bunch of invitations

make a game of it, somehow approach each of them one on one and sow an invitation to something you really want to do

like, don't compromise to make it more fun for them, something you would do alone (you might have to if they agree and flake)
invite them to ecchi expo or something, so that either they are surprisingly with it and or they are turned off and give you a "no"

you should get like .2 invites for future stuff for every 1 you give out

Workmates are not supposed to be your friends. Get real friends.

Then why are they friends with eachother. I know there’s groups of them that do stuff together outside of work

In that case they've probably worked with each other so long they became friends. Sounds like they're a clique, if they didnt let you in when you arrived then they just don't like you or its too soon to tell. I still think you should find friends outside of work because coworkers being your only friends can cause drama because some retards don't know where the line is.

If you still want to try to make friends with them you need to get to know more about them. You said you're popular but don't know shit about them. That's not being popular, you're just the dumbo we all know will do work we give you. Actually get to know them and go from there

You have to be a normalfaggot to condider fellow workers as friends. On rare occasions it can happen but its an exception, or you know someone before you start to work with him/her. Ive worked with probably 100+ peple that I spoke/had interaction on a daily basis. Only in one or two cases I felt like there was something deeper than worker to worker relation.
I recon most of those work friendships that you mention revolves around talking about other people behind their backs and drama. Those arent real friendships, theyre like substitue for real deal.
From my point of view these are just collegues (tier3). These can be just that or it can evolve into hobby friend (tier2) that happens to share a hobby with you. When theres realy some kind of bound that dont just happen because you work, have the same hobby or just spend time togheter doesnt mean a shit. Real friends (tier 1) can meet for whatever reason (not just as an escapism).

I don't treat people nice, I immediately throw my entire personality at them. 99% of them cannot stand me, but the 1% that do are real bros and we hang out outside of work a lot and I talk to them about everything except my tranny fetishes.

Being "nice" is how losers lose. If you want someone to actually like you, you need to have texture, but be prepared that most people won't like it.

For work it's often safest to keep things professional and have a bit of distance.
I wouldn't make work friends a priority personally instead of getting insecure over it. And over time it might happen anyway as you get to know people better.

Would second what that other anon is saying, that it'd be good to find more friends outside of work instead.
