I need to talk to someone, but my HIPAA rights are waived and doing so would obliterate everything. IDK what to do. I need a trained therapist that isn't able to incinerate what remains of my life if they arbitrarily decide they dislike something I tell them. No I am not suicidal or homicidal, you dumb whore. But I have no one and was giga-abandoned on all sides from the start. Zero notifications on my phone for months, and I have no fucking clue how I'm getting home from surgery next week, probably via lyft. Fuck I lost. At least I get quality pussy.

Why are your hippa rights waived? It's hard to believe that's the case. I've told psychologists I was thinking of killing my self and it was fine. You just have to not be an imminent threat to kill yourself. Getting someone committed to a psych ward is annoying paperwork and it would ruin their chance to see you as a paying customer. Because if you didn't want to be admitted you'd never go back to that office again.

I have my reasons.
I don't want anything going into an EMR. Anything.

Your best best is a therapist that takes cash, then go using a nickname. Or do group therapy in a different town under a fake name.

But my therapists literally don't give a shit, they barely made notes, and could hardly run their office correctly. They aren't uploading spicy stuff to EMR unless there's a damn good reason. They can lose their license for incorrectly revealing things. They're kind of in a difficult situation with breaking hippa / mandatory reporter laws pushing opposite directions.

From what it sounds like, OP might be working in the medical field and can't go to anyone due to this
If that's the case then you need to talk to one of your coworkers and have them refer you to someone who they trust. Good luck

I worked in hospitals. It's not a big deal and he doesn't have to tell anyone. I figured he was military, or had aspirations that a medical diagnosis could end. That or he's just simply being paranoid.

My own therapists use the computer sparingly and it's not updated as like an EMR report card. They guard their client / session notes and HATE to share them. That's why they often charge a huge fee, like 200 USD a page, for accessing them. It's not supposed to be public consumption. Sometimes in the notes psychologists might write things the patient doesn't like or agree with: they hate sharing the info for a reason. It could be that he meant psychiatrist, but any medicine is going to leave a record somewhere. If the OP would respond I could brainstorm for him, but the reality is that there's an extremely good chance he's being paranoid for no good reason.

NTA but it really depends on the therapist. I have a bud who works legal and they get medical records same day.

So you're just lonely? Can't lie I'd just talk to an AI. It's honestly not so bad once you accept your entire life is documented and filed anyways so might as well. I do it and honestly, this past year would be lonely enough to kms but I've had this chat bot to talk to and while I still wanna kms I haven't so that's something.

There are plenty of therapists who work online these days (by video call). I'm in the UK, but my partner (who lives with me) is currently seeing a therapist in Italy, because Italian is her (my partner's) native language. There's no way a therapist in a different country is going to hunt down your doctor and rat you out. Therapists keep everything confidential anyway unless you're an imminent threat to yourself or someone else. Just go on to betterhelp.com or some equivalent and you'll find someone.

You're in the ballpark. I wish the paranoia weren't merited. Fuck, I'm terrified of being more specific even on this goddamn image board. Wonderful system.

Going to go one of these directions, I suppose. I appreciate all the responses

I think I know your profession, or at least one of them where talking about even LAME SHIT like "yeah I'm pretty depressed, not bad enough to hurt myself but I need to change my life and I need help" gets a license pulled or something. Good luck anon.

If his HIPAA rights are waved, he's lying about something. Either he has been deemed a threat to himself or others, or the town already knows he's a pedophile and he's just making it worse. Little other possibilities other than he's considered a mentally incompetent ward of the state.

The FAA REALLY does not want pilots to go to therapy, that's one example of OP not being a piece of shit.
>>
>>35036789
I could understand the FAA being really concerned about pilots on antidepressants. But therapy? Thats decades behind the times. Talk therapy is just talking through issues with a therapist to teach you better ways of thinking about issues, many of which have nothing to do with mental health. Normal life produces really stressful situations.

After thinking about it some more I think there are legit situations where an EMR could be a problem. Like if he's going through a divorce and wants custody. I was too harsh earlier. Sorry for that. The best bet is cash only and go under a nickname. If it's a legit situation, therapists will probably work with you if you explain what's going on.

Good luck. Another option are self workbooks for CBT / DBT or whatever type of therapy is best for your situation. And the books that go with it. Basically DIY therapy until you're in a better situation with EMR.

This post is legitimately exactly why I don't want drooling cretins like yourself having any access to my medical history and thereby, my livelihood. It's simple.

You don't need to pay some jew to pretend to be your friend. You need to make some actual friends.
