is esoteric occultism a scam?
>>43155421>>43155448P.much. Ultimately, you are doing service for a different deity instead of serving those around you in the best ways that you can. Not to Christ-fag, but that is ultimately the teaching oi Christ. Live by serving those around you.
>>43155421what *is* esoteric occultism? stuff like masonry, golden dawn, thelema etc? Occultism as a substitute for normal religions?
If you are paying for your spirituality or mysticism or religion or whatever you want to call it in anything other than donations you are 100% being scammed. I was an occultist for years and the prices for "degrees" and books, etc in so many occult circles are absolutely insane, knowledge about faiths and etc should be free. If you like something expensive, pirate it or get a fren to scan it for you and pass it on or go to an occult library or something. So 99% of the occult is a massive scam and 1% is some interesting forms of alternative spirituality and culture. Regular religions give out there holy scriptures for free, while many occultist charge a preimum, They say they have the secrets of the universe that really work etc so that's why there is a high priceBut guess what? so do regular religions etc and they are completely free.
>>43155537This. It’s a beautiful belief. However, >>43155421 needs to understand that it’s just a bet of belief. Nobody really knows what happens after death. Any human claiming such knowledge is 99.9% of the time, a fraud. Esoteric praxis requires belief too, but you are technically working for yourself. Depending on what you end up believing, occult practices can either be a path to true salvation of some kind or another, or the road to damnation. That is if you even end up subscribing to anything western. And people should know that all western esotericism came from a number of competing ancient traditions of antiquity, the Middle Ages and renaissance period, but they got so distorted and misunderstood and persecuted that the modern tradition’s rituals were re-defined and amalgamated by some French occultists in the late 18th century and throughout the 19th century by figures like Gébelin, Papus, Guaita, and Lévi. British occultists in Golden Dawn then shitted it up further in the late 19th century into the 20th century. Just take tarot for instance, Gébelin claimed this Italian card game was actually a repository of ancient Egyptian wisdom hidden in the pictures. You can invent your own made up system and slap on claims that it is from ancient Sumer, ancient Egypt, ancient whatever, and there will always be uneducated or desperate plebs queuing out the door seeking revelation and comfort from whatever is being offered, placebo or not. It’s all LARP unless you think chaos magic is real and any concentrated true belief + praxis = result.Take that as you will.
