if there's a thing called a method actor, then i believe there's a thing called a method writer. my best works are composed when i have experience on the given subject. partially why i suck at writing interpersonal relationshipsbesides the point. my current project is adjacent to MONARCH, the occult and manipulation of the spiritual/supernatural, brainwashing and trauma programming etc, my issue being that these things are all "foreign" to me, which isn't to say that i'm not necessarily versed in them to a degree, merely that i have no ACTUAL experience with them outside of shit from the FOIA reading room, slop amazon grimoires and batshit neurotic monarch survivor sitesi'm a method writer. i need experience. i've never liked memoirs because a visual (or preferrably real, personal) experience beat the hell out of words on paper. what is worth 10 points as text, is worth 100 as extensive visual coverage, and is worth 1,000 if i actually went through itproblem-problem. i seek to have some kind of experience with the supernatural/paranormal/parapsychological, but i cannot even force myself into sufficient trance state, let alone an OOBO. i struggle to feel the effects of any hypnotic event at all. traditional depictions of brainwashing feel lackluster and boring to take reference from, and the survivor accounts i've tried to take inspiration from are also heavily divergent and cannot seem to give me the writing spark i get from tangible events.i've done a lot of stuff so far, but to rule out the heavy hitters i've tried the Ganzfeld effect, i've tried hemi-sync and the gateway process, i've tried various alternative methods and hypnosis, and none of it seems to work on me.i come from a family of psychic-types (not a larp), but the latest generations (despite, according to relatives, being significantly more capable than the last) have given it up entirely so i cant ask themit is imperative that i find a way to rape my feeble nonpsychic goy mind. ideas?
